Rashica is very close to being complete, from Gregg Evans. Gregg is usually quite conservative so if he's tweeting this something must be in the works.

1.) 12 Sep 2020 14:58:58
That sounds very encouraging Chris, hope he’s right.
Apparently Villa have just had an offer of £15.5 million for Bertrand Traoré turned down by Lyon.
He is a very quick right winger and has a good goal scoring rate also. I have seen him play on many occasions for Lyon, he is very impressive.

2.) 12 Sep 2020 16:42:07
If these signings come off, despite my reservations re: rashica initially rejecting us according to reports, I'll be very excited and optimistic about the season ahead. Our owners are backing not just the 1st team but the u23s as well. Steady progress is exactly what's needed and shows the ambition is there.

03 Sep 2020 09:33:27
Matty Cash signed, sealed, delivered. Maybe him and Jack can share the same barber.

1.) 03 Sep 2020 09:46:17
Not the most important signing but hey ho on to the next one 🤷🏻‍♂️.

2.) 03 Sep 2020 11:01:48
Does anyone know if he takes free kicks? 8 goals isn’t bad for a full back.

3.) 03 Sep 2020 14:00:11
he only played full back last season when sabri took charge but before that he was mainly used in midfield but one thing that you never fault with him his work rate he always give it his all even if he having a bad game.

4.) 03 Sep 2020 16:28:59
Ah ok, thanks Gazza. I just saw the 8 goals and heard he was a full back. Would be nice if he could chip in from full back mind.

28 Aug 2020 18:13:51
10m bid for Matty cash rejected.

1.) 28 Aug 2020 19:18:15
Villa seem to be putting bids in for a number of players but they are all rejected.
Why don’t they swallow their pride and bid the asking price for once and see if they get their man?

2.) 28 Aug 2020 19:21:53
2nd bid being prepared according to SSN.
£12.5m maybe?
Think they want £15m.

3.) 28 Aug 2020 19:53:03
Johnny, they should try the full amount.

4.) 28 Aug 2020 19:58:45
Agree Aka, get the bloody deal done.

5.) 28 Aug 2020 20:04:29
John Percy of the Telegraph have said Villa and Notts Forest are in advanced talks at around £12m so I think I believe this rumour.

6.) 28 Aug 2020 20:10:33
Yes Johnny and Aka, deal worth 12 up front and 3 dependant on certain criteria said to be progressing. Looking likely to be the first signing of the summer.

Personally happy with this, plays that whole of the right side, had interest from 2 or 3 prem clubs. Good cover and someone to push the wingers and guilbert!

7.) 28 Aug 2020 20:12:29
So if we’ve bid for him, means the Jack to Man U with Dalot (spell check) as part of the deal is totall bs, I’d stop reading papers and News Now because is all b*ll*cks

8.) 28 Aug 2020 20:44:15
Chris, just been looking at some videos of him, he looks pretty good. Looks a determined young lad who hopefully will make it in the Prem.

9.) 28 Aug 2020 20:45:34
Ally, what makes you think this bid will affect the Grealish situation?

10.) 28 Aug 2020 21:49:12
His tackle vs baggies last year keeps popping up, fair to say he don’t shirk a challenge and likes to get stuck in.

11.) 29 Aug 2020 05:34:31
Aka, all the reports are saying Man U are offering, or we want their 3rd choice keeper and Dalot in any deal, Matty Cash is a right back, Dalot is a right back, so if we’ve made a bid and look like Cash will join, why would we want Dalot? So the whole headline/ story is not to be believed, unless we need more right backs than Southgate has for England. If Man U want Jack they’ll have to cough up, especially if Citeh get Messi, to make a statement, not that I care 1 bit about Man U’s image or wotever 🤷🏼‍♂️

12.) 29 Aug 2020 08:13:08
Ally, Matty is a useful utility player who can play in other positions especially in the backs and as a winger. Whether Villa sell Grealish with other players moving the other way or not I feel that he will not be playing for us next season.

13.) 29 Aug 2020 08:58:20
AKA and Dave, I share your impatience, however we still need to negotiate to make sure we don't pay over the odds.
Personally I'd offer £10m plus a player, say Taylor or similar.

14.) 29 Aug 2020 09:46:55
It will be good to get the first signing over the line and if it’s Cash that’s ok but I was never unduly worried about the right back position however left back is where I really do have concerns and it seems that’s the one area of the pitch where we haven’t been linked with every Tom Dick or Harry that’s available I only remember a passing reference to Rico Henry but I have concerns re Targett defensively and Taylor is out of his depth in my opinion but it seems that we may well end up with those two as our left backs going into the new season.

15.) 29 Aug 2020 10:04:30
Perhaps Mungo Bridge is ready to fill that void John 🤔.

16.) 29 Aug 2020 11:18:14
Would be nice to see 1 of the youngsters given a chance even if its only for cover, save us splurging money on players we don't actually need 👍. Also re Cash, he might not necessarily be being brought (if we sign him) to specifically play right back. He's a midfielder turned defender and could offer that dynamism we need in the middle of the park, young, mobile and likes a tackle.

17.) 29 Aug 2020 14:26:54
Time to splash the Cash on Matty 😁.

28 Aug 2020 09:03:06
Yesterday Peterborough signed a Striker from Bristol Rovers, not long after the Toney to Brentford deal was given the green light. The dominos are falling, once we get one in I think you will see 2 or 3 in not long after. Watkins looking likely to be the first.

Remember to not give to much time to obvious paper BS, for example the Hourihane to Turkey links. On the surface it sounds like rubbish, young family, unlikely to uproot all that to go to Turkey. Then when you dig deeper the article which is from a very questionable source, and says "the players agent has contacted us a made the player available to us" just makes it even more unlikely. Brighton bid for him last season, he had a good season last season when you look at how many points he won us with his goals and assists, always amongst the goals in the championship. If he moved, you'd bet your house it would be closer to home.

It's silly season with the rumours, remember that. We've got fans pissed off that we haven't signed certain players when we were never interested in them in the first place, it was BS to fill a news column, then when it doesn't come off fans say "we couldn't even get that over the line", when there was nothing to get over the line in the first place.

We all want signings, but to think the club aren't grafting their arse off to get them is mad, you don't make it this far as the owners have in business, or as the management and board set up have without knowing the score. Last season we was signing people right throughout the window, but we ended up with some right rubbish and really the best player from last summers window came threw the door 2 days before Spurs away. We would all like early business but if it can't happen, and we have to wait to get who we want, so be it, it's much better than going after 3rd and 4th choice players.

1.) 28 Aug 2020 16:16:37
"Grafting their arse off" That sounds very painful pal.
I'm sure they're working hard to get the right players in and there aren't many clubs doing business at the moment. With 2 weeks to go it is important to get players on board as soon as possible. We've been linked with so many it's difficult to know which ones are true and which aren't.
Just hope we can get off to a good start.

2.) 28 Aug 2020 16:36:53
I know Johnny, cutting through the paper BS is getting harder, some are blatant lies just to fill articles but some you have to second guess.

3.) 28 Aug 2020 18:05:48
I reckon we should put a bid in of £15M for Toney, see how Brentford like it 👊🏻

25 Aug 2020 19:07:36
Just to add some more info, Rob Dorset from sky has just said on sky sports news, before the press conference Southgate warned the press not to ask about Jack Grealish. Very strange and a little bit cowardly.

1.) 25 Aug 2020 19:41:43
That’s shocking. His squad selection is a joke, completely hypocritical in selection of players with no top flight experience (Phillips), a player just convicted of three criminal offences (Maguire), players who aren’t picked regularly (Foden), players who are out of form (Pickford) . Add to that. selection of three right backs, no left backs, and leaves out statistically the best English midfielder last season. It defies all logic, and Grealish should declare for Ireland. England have mugged him off for too long.

2.) 26 Aug 2020 11:45:57
Supposedly Dorset had 7 questions, when he went to twitter ask what questions to drop out of the 4 he had on Maguire, one on Sterling and 2 on newcomers; he didn't seem to understand that literally everyone from Michael Owen to Blues fans were asking about Grealish. Maybe he didn't need to ask 4 questions about Maguire lmao.

Very rusty but a win is a win. Moved the ball, made them work and then made them pay when they inevitably tired. Could of been 2 or 3-0 with Jacks chance dragged wide and Watkins just missing the top bin. Good stat to note that we crossed the ball more than any other side this season, shame Watkins was up against 3 centre backs on his own for the first hour. Then when we went 2 up the crosses slowed down a lot, weird one. Konsa a class act, with Southgate there, surely 10 or more performances like that and he's an outside shout for an England call up. Martinez bailed the defence out, letting Burke dribble across the box like that on his own is criminal, one foot in and the dangers gone.

3 points against a very good well drilled side, even with 10 men and all of them behind the ball with two banks of players. Great start, try get to the next round of the cup and then onto Fulham Monday!

15 Sep 2020 11:46:49
Best signing we could have made, new five year deal for "Average Jack"😉😂

Purslow: "We are determined to build a top team around him and are delighted that he is extending his contract and committing himself to the club he loves. "
There's the answer to the question we all were asking come the end of the season, the owners plan to add players of his quality, the sensible option.

Few more signings and this could be the best season we've seen in the last decade.

14 Sep 2020 09:58:18
Has anyone seen Traore play regular? Keep hearing reports that his very good on his left foot but next to useless on his right, to the point where if a semi decent defender works it out, it renders him useless for the whole game. Anyone know this is true? Came from Lyon fans on socials, don't know whether it's typical fans salty because someone is leaving them or it's true.

Also notice how this came out of nowhere and within 3 days of it breaking its more or less done, the Xia days of everyone knowing our business seem long gone.

1.) 14 Sep 2020 12:07:50
If we are getting Rashica I don't see Traore as a starter, more an impact player who is big, strong and fast. I think off the bench be would be a real asset! I'm convinced we will get another MF and Jack will continue on the left. A front three of Watkins, Grealish and Rashica is very interesting with Wesley, Traore and Trez to come off the bench!

2.) 14 Sep 2020 13:22:56
Traore being signed instead of King. Forward line planned to be Rashica - Watkins - Traore. Jack behind where imo he’s most effective. Bundles of pace, wide forwards who are direct, and have an eye for goal. Creativity comes from Jack. If it all comes off we’re going to be a really exciting team to watch.

12 Sep 2020 17:52:44
In the pub with probably 10 proper Leeds fans, Van dink just scored, life is good😂😂😂.

1.) 12 Sep 2020 18:15:04
Dare ya to sing the Carbone song lol 😂

10 Sep 2020 10:30:52
A lot of mention for Rashica recently. I'm not going to be one of those people who talk about a player based on YouTube clips and what not. But from games I've actually seen of him, probably around 10, he'd be a guaranteed starter for us for the most part, simply because he's better than Trez and El Ghazi. But Rashica is inconsistent, much like most wingers, I've seen him turn games on their head in a moment, most of the time single handedly. But in others, he hasn't been in the game at all, their relegation play off game he struggled to get into it at all. But for 25m, if we do have the reported 100 budget, I'd say he's definitely worth a quarter of our outlay!

Seen some people mention Lolley, if it were a decent price 7/ 8m, I think it comes down to who do you want coming off the bench, him or El Ghazi? For me it would be Lolley every time. El Ghazi has dropped in many people's estimations massively, from play off final where he sent us on our way, to them completely bottling it away at Southampton I think it was.

1.) 10 Sep 2020 13:31:50
Chris I haven’t seen a lot of Rashica so I bow to your view having seen a lot more of him than I have, I get the inconsistency bit but I would say the majority of wide players fit into that category. A simple question if it’s a choice between Rashica and Benrahma who would you take and why.

2.) 10 Sep 2020 13:33:04
Only a matter of time before mings smacks el gazhi😂 I think el gazhi or more suited to a 4-3-3 so he’s not needed to do so much back tracking.

3.) 10 Sep 2020 15:20:45
I’d probably go Rashica John, but only just. The fact he’s done it in a side fighting for their lives is what tips it.

4.) 10 Sep 2020 21:34:53
With Martinez very likely to be a Villa player soon will this be the catalyst in persuading Rashica to come on board?
I suspect it certainly won’t do any harm.

Never use the bookies as a indication mate, when the summer JT signed for us, a bluenose put a grand on him to go Blues, on the basis he had been spotted in Brum and people were discussing whether it was blues or Villa he would sign for. His odds went from around 8/ 1 to evens, then they stopped taking bets, because more noses jumped on the bandwagon and lumped on before it got lower😂

Them markets are all decided by an algorithm that for the most part takes into consideration the amount of money that’s been put on, for example, if you now put a hundred on Barkley to come to us, his odds would drop from 3/ 1 to something like 5/ 2.

Poor season last year, season before he was very good. Wonder if JT has pushed for this one based on his time at Chelsea.

I’ve read the first 2/ 3 lines mate and fair play I believe you, let’s leave it there!

I’m in the boozer and 3 or 4 Leeds ran round the pub when they scored the offside goal, funny as feck!

Without getting nasty or personal as it’s a lovely Saturday and footballs back, it was Henry, stop trying to look ITK mate, either your mate is a liar or you are, nothing you’ve ever said comes off. You add good points on here most the time, you don’t need to try and portray something your not.

Plus Chester is a midget aswell😂.

Targett switched off, but Douglas Luis has the chance to cut out the pass that put Burke free, then Cash Mings Konsa and Dougie let him dance along them like puppets on a string for him to slip it in to Basham. There were a lot of people at fault for that goal and it was al rustiness more than anything. As I said the pen was on like 30 minutes, after that they had nothing, it was whether we could break them down, and we did. I don’t see what there’s to be nervous about, Targett barely touched the ball in our half second half.

Good job what does and doesn’t work for you means absolutely jack S.

We are changing the team and bulking out the bench, we have signed 4 and making moves for more as we speak. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and if you know football, you know the markets are always the same.

Ultimately you was wrong, as it was the bench that Was used and we scored straight after the sub, game the humble pie and enjoy it.

There’s no need for the childishness and negativity, you are desperate for us to fail before a balls kicked.

My thoughts exactly mark, we did the job, limited them to the penalty and nothing else. More importantly banged on the door until we found a way in, more than we could manage against ten men on multiple occasions last season!
