Are we about to see another Wesley type signing where no ones knows it's coming until it's more or less done. Apparently a 15M fee with Man City has been agreed for Douglas Luiz. Some of you may remember they signed him last year but couldn't get him a work permit so he went out on loan to Girona, apparently work permit isn't an issue now, so we're bringing him in as the CDM. A bit annoying they've input a buy back option so if he's any good they'll take him back, but in Purslow and Dean we trust. Love how they are just destroying all the fake ITK's.

1.) 12 Jul 2019 09:07:27
Douglas Luiz bargain of the summer?
Apparently highly regarded by Pep so must be good.

2.) 12 Jul 2019 09:29:50
This a great signing did well in spanish league and pep rates him cb also in today aswell fee agreed for winger just need gk, n striker.

3.) 12 Jul 2019 10:24:15
Looks a good addition to be fair even though I know nothing about him really .

Guillem Balague the Spanish reporter says this guy is class and to be honest he know a thing or too about players .

Only disappointing thing is the buy back clause, but hey just shows how highly thought of he is by Man City.

11 Jul 2019 10:21:20
Konsa in, that's 2 players for every position along the back 4 now, brilliant work.

If they can follow this up with a keeper, defensive midfielder, winger and a striker I think we'd be set for a solid season.

My picks would be Butland, Phillips, Trezeguet or Harry Wilson and Maupay.

1.) 11 Jul 2019 10:57:11
According to BM Villa have persuaded Trezeguet‘s club to let him leave.
Another one on the way to Villa Park?

2.) 11 Jul 2019 11:05:58
But they’re all championship players.

3.) 11 Jul 2019 11:47:36
I have heard Villas offer for Trezeguet is £9.9m.

4.) 11 Jul 2019 12:16:04
Is that sour grapes because the Dingles didn’t get Konsa Vino? 🤷🏼‍♂️ Looking at YouTube of him there’s a hell of a lot of ‘Welcome to Wolves’ comments 🤔

5.) 11 Jul 2019 12:34:38
The dingles really are upset at the minute, can’t see why, it’s only a longer season with more games yet no signings for them, are Fosun bored? Have they realised the fan base they are trying to bring forward will always be stuck in the dark ages? Are the rumours they are trying to sell up true? Where’s the ground expansion? Where are the fans that will fill it? Tune in next time to find out.

6.) 11 Jul 2019 13:55:12
Where has the W 88
gone off our shirts?

7.) 11 Jul 2019 18:35:17
Dont be worried for what were doing worry bout your own team .

8.) 11 Jul 2019 20:43:42
Are these dingles still rocking up on our page!

Don’t worry fella form is temporary, class is permanent.

9.) 11 Jul 2019 21:48:41
Good question Moutinho, I too was wondering why a sponsor would be willing to offer a newly promoted team double what they were offering a team in Europe, then I remembered. the team in Europe is wolves and the newly promoted side is Aston Villa, so makes perfect sense.

13 Jun 2019 14:50:40
Wesley Moares then, come out of no where which shows it's a tighter ship than previous regimes, no ones reported this and all of a sudden it's coming out as done and dusted.

He looks like a Brazilian Tammy, big strong, 10 goals and 9 assists in 28 games. The last striker we got from the Belgium League didn't do to badly. Big Price, but if you want quality sometimes you have to pay.

1.) 13 Jun 2019 15:13:34
Some good footage here:

2.) 13 Jun 2019 15:39:56
This guys a beast mate its a good signing.

3.) 13 Jun 2019 15:42:30
Chris, looks like he turned down, a few good clubs, to come to Villa . They must fancy him, to give him a 5 year contract, he certainly looks the part .
Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

4.) 13 Jun 2019 17:34:08
Leeds would have spent more.

5.) 13 Jun 2019 18:15:09
So we got spurs first game.

6.) 13 Jun 2019 18:27:24
AVFC now confirmed Moraes deal.

13 Jun 2019 07:27:52
Kalvin Phillips 14mil bid going in apparently, sounds good to me. A spine of Butland Mings Phillips Grealish, keeps the attitude and team spirit in line I think, between them and say Mcginn, Chester they've got enough about them to get everyone involved so we won't see things like we did 4 years ago with the fractures in the squad.

1.) 13 Jun 2019 12:31:33
Don't think we'll get his lad for anything less than £20m. Would be good signing even at that level.
Just need to start getting one or two signings done now.

2.) 13 Jun 2019 12:50:22
Players and managers are all still away on holiday so don't expect much to happen soon, another week or two is when I believe it will all start to happen, I expect mings and hause to be first then the new faces will be targeted.

3.) 13 Jun 2019 15:15:38
Would love to get Phillips but I'm not sure it will happen - he's essentially their version of Jack and the fans are already kicking off about the rumours.

07 Jun 2019 08:00:15
I know it's silly season with the rumours, linked with over 20/ 25 players now. Obviously the papers know we are going to need a load in so their just taking advantage. But the most recent one to be linked, if true: Maxi Lopez. Would be a proper statement signing. But so far the papers have got 1 out of about 20 so hopefully this one makes it 2. Need a statement number 9, then you become more attractive to other potential players.

1.) 07 Jun 2019 10:22:04
Would be a statement signing but not a chance of this happening.

19 Jul 2019 08:32:30
Mings Engels Konsa
Targett Mcginn luis Guilbert
Grealish Wesley El Ghazi

I'd be quite happy with that team starting against spurs.

1.) 19 Jul 2019 11:44:02
Thing is nakamba wants to move because he not playing I can't imagine him comeing to us and sitting on the bench!

2.) 19 Jul 2019 12:36:28
Can’t see this to be honest Chris but then I’m not deano so who knows.

09 Jul 2019 09:49:38
Whatever happened to Radoja? We couldn't get a work permit in jan and he was out of contract this summer for Celta, has he signed someone? Could we go back in?

1.) 09 Jul 2019 15:01:08
I would go for rongier he looks a very decent player.

2.) 09 Jul 2019 16:17:40
Hi Bob, back again mate, hope you and your good lady are still ok.

3.) 10 Jul 2019 12:00:37
We are both ok but not brilliant.,
Thanks for asking dave,
Hope you and your family are well, .
I don't post to often now I get very tired.
But pleased to see our team take shape and looking forward to a great season.

07 Jul 2019 10:06:49
So now we know why the Mings deal is taking so long, reports saying Bournemouth want 25Mil. Don't think the owners are going to pay that, the lads played about 20 prem games since he's been there, his injury record is bad and he would have been available for max 10 before he came to us on loan.

We are well and truly being mugged off in the domestic market, Webster, Phillips now Mings, it seems like the owners won't be taken for a ride.

Time to look into the European market, see how good Purslows contacts really are. We need a left footed centre back, right footed centre back and a defensive midfielder ASAP and get them integrated in pre-season. Outside of that realistically we need another striker, winger and arguably a goal keeper.

The club are clearly trying but if things aren't getting anywhere we have to move on and identify other targets.

1.) 07 Jul 2019 11:53:17
100% Chris. How about this. you don’t automatically have to have a left foot/ right foot combo but here goes. left sided centre half, Ciaran Clark, turns 30 this year, I’d say £4M tops, he’s still got roots in the Midlands, Hause as back up or starter. Right side Cahill free transfer no brainer and we still have Chester. Outside chance of Axel back on loan and there’s the centre of defence covered. By all means look to Europe but if all we have to lay out is £10-15M in transfers and wages for centre half then that frees up the money to buy Butland (even though I think Steer should be given a chance that he’s earned) . So to recap, Butland in goal, a back 4 of Guilbert, Cahill, Clark, Targett is about as solid as you can get. I know someone is going to say there’s no pace there but Leicester won the Prem with no speed in central defence with Morgan/ Huth, they had Kante in front of ‘em so maybe we should concentrate our big money on that holy grail of a defensive midfielder, take your pick of the one’s we, be been linked with, my personal choice would be Hayden at half the price of Phillips. Saying all that though, Mings is the 1 we as fans all want but anything over £20M is a joke for someone with his injury record

2.) 07 Jul 2019 12:11:35
Weirdly enough I was thinking the other day how good Clark would be under this management team, baring in mind he started off as a defensive midfielder and could pick a pass better than our centre mids when we got relegated.

Out of all the players I’d over pay for Butland and Phillips would be the ones, Butland would be our keeper for the next 5+ years and i really think Phillips will go very very far. The others such as Mings his injury record is horrific, and the price they want is ridiculous, love the bloke but the deal at that price doesn’t make sense. Webster is leave aswell if they are serious about the 30M price tag, let him stay there, Bristol bottle it again, their insufferable whiney midget manager will do his head in after another year and he’ll be available for half the price next year.

3.) 07 Jul 2019 12:44:49
Spot on Chris, Clarks ex and kid still live in Walmley/ Sutton area, I’m a friend of a friend of a friend of theirs etc and he would welcome a move back down here. Butland imo is arguably England’s No1 keeper, Pickford has been a ledge since he got the shirt but having Butland excelling for us to get the England shirt back can only be good for us and his best years are ahead of him still.

01 Jul 2019 12:43:06
3 far fetched but semi unrealistic signing you'd love in this window? (Aka no messi or Ronaldo shouts)

I'd go:
Saint Maximin

1.) 01 Jul 2019 15:49:25
Chris mate, mine are all doable to be fair.
So I am going for;

Neal Maupay
Said Benrahma
jarrod Bowen / Bradley Dack

If push come to shove I would probably pick Bowen over Dack because of prem experience, close one though.
I am a bit wary of to many new players without EFL experience, we learnt a valuable lesson from the Veratout, Amavi and Baccuna years.

2.) 01 Jul 2019 16:26:54
Dave, Veratout went on to be a good player, he’s been linked with Arsenal . Always played out of position at Villa . When you buy a player, who is a No 10 and been involved in %46 of all goals scored, you don’t play him on the wing .
Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

3.) 01 Jul 2019 17:03:17
Dave, I know he went on to be a good player, that`s not the point mate.
He wasn`t for us, and I know he was played out of position, but so was Hutton.
I used Veratout as an example of the team we assembled back then.
This is just a fun question mate, so why not play along.

4.) 01 Jul 2019 19:25:55
Good question Chris

5.) 01 Jul 2019 19:27:36
Or a bit more thinking outside the box

Dalot- Utd have bissako so may be viable
Callum Wilson.

29 Jun 2019 22:57:42
Man U 50m bid for Mcginn, Jesus Christ.

1.) 30 Jun 2019 00:27:38
Where was that one Chris?

2.) 30 Jun 2019 08:00:58
50 mill for McGinn?
Where does the valuation come from.
Our owners are savvy and like the grealish episode with spurs last year they will stay firm.
I'm not worried about this story.
Just imagine McGinn's valuation come next year if he proves he can do it in the premiership?
50 mill then will be short change.
More like 80mill ++.

3.) 30 Jun 2019 09:06:31
Reject reject reject!

4.) 30 Jun 2019 10:31:07
Man Utd haven't bid anything for McGinn, let alone £50m.
Relax until you here anything actually confirmed. This is just one of a hundred silly-season rumours. Probably due to contract negotiations and his agent.

5.) 30 Jun 2019 11:43:59
Alan Nixon on Twitter, doesn’t get much wrong to be fair to him and normally with villa news he seems to be accurate. If it is true I’ll be honest I’d snap the hands off them if they’d throw in Tuanzebe as well. We all love him and he’s very good but we could replace him twice over with 50million.

Taylor put his chance on target aswell, can’t help it being blocked by someone.

Everyone used to love Hogans “intelligent runs” and slate Bruce’s football for the reason he couldn’t perform, glad everyone’s starting to realise he makes runs down blind alleys in which Pirlo would struggle to find him. Good lad, hard working but not that great a player.

Surely you don’t get a six week ban if you simply tell someone your moving clubs? How would the FA know or prove that he told someone that info? There has to be some evidence.

Not saying you are a liar but someone is clearly telling porkies somewhere or else our manager would be speaking french.

I suppose it’s a fine line to tread, the people around him aren’t going to be in a similar financial situation to him so if they hear something they can profit off, naturally they’d be tempted to go for it. But surely you show more loyalty to Sturridge as a brother/ cousin/ son. And if it is proven, who takes the punishment?

{Ed001's Note - Sturridge is the one who gets punished as it is not illegal for them to gamble, just illegal for him to tell them to.}

The FA really are toothless.

{Ed001's Note - why are the FA toothless? Most of the accusations they made were thrown out. They wanted a 6 month ban. It was not the FA's decision. Sturridge never gambles. The issue was whether or not he told his family to bet on something or whether they chose to off their own back. Either way, it is a bit of a difficult one, Sturridge is well known to be a clean living lad, who spent a lot of time helping out with the youth teams while injured. He doesn't drink, smoke or gamble, the issue was that members of his family did after he told them about potential transfers. You can't really expect someone not to discuss their future with their family, so how do you prove whether or not he was instructing his family to make money, as the FA claimed, or if they just decided to take advantage of the knowledge?}

Is that from season starting Ed? Or from the date of the sentencing?

{Ed001's Note - date of sentencing. He can play next month.}
