Gonna throw a name out there for defensive mid, Julian Weigl of Benfica, he's not happy there and could be available around £20M, German international, 25, neat and tidy player

{Ed002's Note - AV has no interest in him.}

Just read on Caught Offside what confirms what I was told on Monday that they've taken the merch/ kits to do with Jack down from the club shop, has anyone here been down there and seen this 1st hand?

As you walk into the store there’s three mannequins with shirts on, one in the middle Grealish number 10. I don’t know how it can be missed😂.

2.) 31 Jul 2021 09:12:41
Allyp I have been to the club shop this morning while I was out and the is nothing to do with Jack in the club shop at all. Can’t see any of his names shirts up and the mannequin that has his shirt now has Mings McGinn and Watkins shirts on.

3.) 31 Jul 2021 14:19:26
Must have been changed overnight.

21 Jun 2021 16:16:05
This Julian Alvarez of River Plate who we're being linked with looks the business, shades of Coutihno about him

1.) 21 Jun 2021 17:13:36
Yeah seen the same report Ally, it sounds pretty genuine as well.
Only 21, and is very well thought of, let's wait and see.

2.) 21 Jun 2021 17:31:40
Agent Martinez on the case again? 🤔 while he's at it see if he can get their No10 interested, he looks OK from his YouTube highlights 😁.

3.) 21 Jun 2021 18:36:36
What the Messi ah surely not even Agent M could pull that one off 🤔.

4.) 21 Jun 2021 18:41:00
I think we should take a punt on the kid, last time we had a sniff of buying someone from River Plate was Falcao for £2M, but Heskey for £3M instead was a much better deal 🙄

UTV.

5.) 21 Jun 2021 18:43:25
There's a few top players been pulled off over the years-usually makes the front pages 😁.

6.) 21 Jun 2021 19:53:50
Ive seen an article saying JWP is keen on moving to us, great news if true.

7.) 21 Jun 2021 19:55:45
😂😂😂 Moose

8.) 21 Jun 2021 20:36:36
They only slight downside is Alverez is another player favouring the right flank. Ideally, I would prefer someone for the other wing.

Despite El Ghazi’s goal return last season, I remain unconvinced. His contributions are too sporadic for a first team performer in a side aspiring to be a top third regular year in, year out.

9.) 22 Jun 2021 05:04:55
Alvarez is apparently very adept at playing centre forward as well, so could be a good replacement/ competition for Ollie, who used to be a winger himself.
And yes, very witty Moosey boy, as we’ve come to expect 😁.

10.) 22 Jun 2021 11:14:54
Transfermarkt lists his main position on the right, but the reports I’ve read suggest he prefers a more central role, a second striker type. Looks an excellent prospect and with a fair South American contingent at the club, I’m sure he’d settle. Let’s hope!

11.) 22 Jun 2021 19:44:44
Edd, what are the rules and regulations regarding foreign players in the Prem especially 3 from the same country?

{Ed002's Note - There are no specific rules - they need a Work Permit.}

12.) 22 Jun 2021 20:34:40
Thank you Ed.

13.) 23 Jun 2021 06:06:25
Perhaps less likely, but Traore has a fair record playing through the centre. He is a player that can pull off the exquisite at times, but lacks a bit of consistency.

14.) 23 Jun 2021 06:31:41
I just checked back on Alvarez, as I had also seen reference to him playing through the centre as an option. At only 5’7’’, I think it would more likely that role would be as a second striker/ no. 10, rather than centre forward.

14 Jun 2021 18:12:11
After signing Buendia, if we got Ward-Prowse, Andrea Bellotti and an up and coming left back, would be the perfect transfer window for me

We didn't lose yesterday because of Jed Steer, you're scapegoating the wrong player, we were in that game till Mings made 1 of the 10 minimum mistakes he makes in a season that costs us points, and if you're going to say there's no place for sentiment even though Steer played a massive part in getting into the Prem, so did Mings. Didn't help that the ref was a total homer but although we gave a very good account of ourselves, the better team won.

1.) 12 Sep 2021 14:17:41
Last two refs we’ve had have been abysmal, is it just me who thought last season the reffing weren’t that bad? It’s like crowds come back in and they rubbish themselves!

19 Aug 2021 18:57:12
Anguissa £25M, Alvarez £15M or Damsgaard £25M window done, apart from shipping out some deadwood for around £20-30M and an experienced keeper that don't mind getting splinters in his.

UTV.

Allyp1972

1.) 19 Aug 2021 19:20:36
Anguissa, 100%. The others only needed if players leave. Just get it done Villa :- (.

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath.}

2.) 19 Aug 2021 19:41:33
What if you're drowning? 🤔

3.) 19 Aug 2021 22:51:32
Not saying it's going to happen Ed, 100% that he would be good signing. I don't expect us to make any more signings at this stage.

17 Aug 2021 19:31:46
Good article on Birmingham Live about Axel playing defensive mid, the stats add up to him being more than comfortable playing there, could save us a few quid 🤷🏼‍♂️

1.) 17 Aug 2021 21:02:45
Made this point a while back Ally. Only trouble is, if he proves to be outstanding in that position, MU will want him back at the end of the season. Either that or they will want a lot of money for him🤔.

17 Aug 2021 13:53:24
It's being reported (not by me @Chris) that Lingard is available for just £20M, got to get in there surely 🤷🏼‍♂️

2.) 17 Aug 2021 14:16:39
West ham would have already done the deal if it were to be true.

3.) 17 Aug 2021 14:24:32
Birmingham mail reporting story, figure is a tempter to push west ham to 30 million.

15 Aug 2021 15:35:46
Reading all the posts, it's got to be Anguissa for £25M or Bissouma for £40M, JWP ain't going to happen, needs to be this week, don't think 3-5-2 is the way to go, no need for a left winger, get 1 of them 2 in and with Dougie and Ollie back we've got as good a squad as we've ever had, especially with the kids we've got, don't panic fellas, I'm going for we'll steamroller Newcastle next week 4 or 5 nil

UTV.

Allyp1972

1.) 15 Aug 2021 15:54:23
This, 100%! For me we are a Declan Rice-esque holding midfielder away from having a very very good squad, it's then down to Smith to get a tune out of them! I think he will have some tough decisions to make, we may not be able to fit in all our attacking talent so Smiths man and game management will come into play very soon but these are the pressures of managing a squad of this quality, when everybody is fit we have some very good options, the only gap in at HMF as Marvelous is very good defensively but offers nothing beyond that.

2.) 15 Aug 2021 16:44:49
I’m surprised Rice hasn’t moved yet, my father in law is West Ham, he’s dreading the day when he does leave, same as us when that Solihull bloke left.

If we were to make Champions League or Europa at the end of this season, he’d be my get him no matter the price player, I’d think he’d end up at Chelsea though, besties with Mount ain’t he?

UTV.

3.) 15 Aug 2021 16:59:16
Yeah, he's Chelsea or United bound I feel - What a player he is, and that's coming from somebody from Ireland :-)

{Ed002's Note - he originally left Chelsea for West Ham.}

4.) 15 Aug 2021 17:33:44
Add Rice to the long list of players Chelsea let go and would absolutely love back then :-)

5.) 15 Aug 2021 18:02:00
Would be my 1st name on the teamsheet and definitely future England captain, sorry Irish fellas

UTV.

6.) 15 Aug 2021 18:29:38
Bit odd that you’d like an Irish man to captain England 😂😂.

7.) 15 Aug 2021 18:48:00
Born in Kingston Upon Thames Whack, the Irish sure are desperate for players😂.

8.) 15 Aug 2021 19:24:39
Players like Rice and Grealish, absolutely Chris - Have you seen our starting 11? 😂.

9.) 15 Aug 2021 19:47:04
His father is from county cork and his mother is from co Longford, last time I checked those places were in Republic of Ireland, we had this debate before, Sterling was born in Jamaica so then I guess he’s Jamaican and not english?

10.) 15 Aug 2021 20:11:40
Fair point BK😂

Ohh sorry Whack I miss understood, you want Rice’s mom and dad to play for Ireland, not Declan Rice, makes sense now😉.

11.) 15 Aug 2021 22:49:26
My father was Irish but was born here so i support England but look out for Ireland’s results. There’s been quite a few U. K. / British born players that have played internationally down to their grandparents coming from wherever, Jack Charlton certainly exploited it. I read somewhere that Emi qualified to play for England up to playing in a competitive game for Argentina, Konsa can play for Portugal, while Beaky has his favourites, could be a chance for the other U. K. countries to nip in if they do their research and bag some decent players 🤷🏼‍♂️

UTV.

12.) 15 Aug 2021 23:04:46
So u agree then Chris, anyone not born in England shouldn’t be playing for them?

13.) 16 Aug 2021 09:32:44
You just seem desperate whack to have players with no immediate personal affiliation to the country to play for you, seems a bit false to be honest. And surely any Irishman wants proper Irish lads in the squad, not lads who see it as a second rate team who don’t have the confidence they’ll make it for their own nation.

It’s well known before opting to play for them at youth level, Grealish had been to Ireland a handful of times, so why on Earth would you want him? He’d probably been to Scotland more😂

Good point re Sterling, but living in the UK since the age of four, having British citizenship he obviously saw England as his home country and backed himself to make it. The other two quite obviously used Ireland as a stepping stone yet you are still clamouring for others to do the same, makes no sense.

What I can see happening with this 1 is someone will buy him at a price less than that £40M and loan him back to Metz, by the end of the season he might have played enough international games to make a difference for the work permit, I’d say that rules us out as our need is for a DM here and now but who knows if we ship out a few players and see it as a long term investment 🤷🏼‍♂️

My thoughts too Ed, same guy told me Curtis Jones a few days ago too, not keen on that 1 either

Don’t know how this will work but a proper midfield 3 like we had yesterday got the best out of McGinn and Ramsey, Ramsey had to go off because the ref was itching to send 1 of our players off being on a booking already, what do we do now? 4-3-3? 3-5-2? In a 3-5-2 are we going to play Bailey left wing back and god help us El Ghazi at right wing back to accommodate Ings and Watkins up top? IMO 4-3-3, same midfield 3 as yesterday and Watkins left, Ings middle, Bailey right, even though that’d be my 1st choice line up, there’s a lot of talent knocking on the door to break into that team, we’ve got a good squad there fellas, I can’t even find a starting spot for our record signing, never mind Traore, Carney, Sanson, El Ghazi etc. good times ahead of if the team spirit is good and no sulking if they’re on the bench
