That guy Enzo we got from juve is ripping it up on loan, reports are describing him as 1 of the best CM in Europe right now, bad news for us as reports state he's only a couple of appearances away from a permanent move for what's described as peanuts, looks like we might have lost out with him, the signs we there that he had quality but instead we paid 50 million for Onana, these are the things putting us under financial pressure, I hope the new guy has a good eye for talent and I hope these young players get game time or we are just wasting our time.

Here's a positive outlook for those disappointed with lack of signings.
If any premier league team signed Watkins Martinez and rogers it would be hailed as a brilliant window, same goes for us keeping them.

Articles popping up about united trying to sign Martinez on loan, how on earth would they think that we would loan them our number one keeper? I know there does be some rubbish rumours floating around but this one takes the biscuit, is there truth in it? What you guys think?
I'm not sure who the biggest idiot would be, them for thinking we would do it or us if we accepted it.

Great 3 points, individual performances are improving, shame to lose the clean sheet but 2 great finishes by Malen, wasn't Watkins day but when he came off it definitely weakened us, he does a lot of other stuff. Rogers improved today, defence looked comfortable for most parts. great run of results, players coming back into the squad, hopefully this international break doesn't disrupt our run. good positive few weeks for us, UTV

Great result, painful watch though, but 3 very important points. Bizot looks like a great number 2, we have waited quiet a while to have reliable backup.
I'm still really worried about rogers and emery's persistence in keeping him on the pitch, pretty much every time (apart from maybe 3 times) he got involved in a move tonight he messed it up. I have no words to describe how bad he is and how much of a handicap we have when he's on the pitch, Emery wants to play him into form but it's not even close to working.
better teams will punish us and to be fair they were robbed of a perfectly good goal tonight, we gave up so many big chances tonight and we rode our luck but you need luck to win these competitions. hopefully we get a similar result this weekend but with a better all round performance.

To say rogers is a passenger is an understatement, he's an actual hindrance to the rest of the team, how many times can 1 player give it away. can't afford to have him on the pitch

Why can our opposition always attack with pace and put us under so much pressure and we slowly walk it out until will inevitably give it away and then we are under attacking threat again and again, the trend is so frustrating. Why on earth can't we get our fair shots on goal.

After all the criticism that was a huge improvement and credit where it's due quiet a few of our players really stood up today. super finish from Ollie, hopefully the confidence boost he needed, apart from the goal he really put himself about the park and looked like the Ollie we all know and love.
he's captain he's a leader he is super John maginn, what a goal right when we needed it, he has taken a bit of stick lately but say what you like but we miss his tenacity when he's not on the pitch, personally I always feel bad if I criticise him, he loves the villa, the villa love him and if everyone played with the same heart we would be unstoppable.
Rogers not back to his best but much better today and great to see him smile, Buendia gives everything and I'm delighted he got a goal, looks like an inspired substitution. konsa skinned for the goal but made up for it with the goal line save from lucic, overall solid, Torres, did his introduction turn it around, certainly an argument for it.
Guessand, I have to say he is starting to impress me, not as a winger but as a RM, in my opinion he has really shored up that right hand side and he's linking up really well with cash I think as a partnership they really complement each other.
1 or 2 mistakes today but can we expect a complete 180 degree turnaround in 1 game? Bit naive to think we would be flawless.
lots to build on, lots of positives and a brilliant result. another few wins and our poor start will be soon forgotten.
don't now about anyone else but today I learned again how to appreciate a win.

I love Mings defensively but, he hasn't organised the rest that well, and you have to admit that during Pau's time on the pitch the whole team have played forward a lot quicker.
Cash is looking better with Guessand helping him, he still needs to stop standing there pointing when he's not doing anything useful himself.
Ollie finally got touches without a defender up his backside and did what we know he can.
Rogers kept the ball under closer control, made a huge difference to his game.
I've never understood Buendia getting dropped, not always perfect but works hard, finds good positions and has good vision, we've almost always looked better with him on the pitch.

Daz you are 100% I was only thinking the same thing yesterday, it was a huge day for us and for a villa boy he was very blasé about it, yes it was only the conference league but it was a stepping stone and also an emotional day for most villa fans who went through the heartache of relegation. not saying he’s a bad lad but most of these football players are motivated by money and not glory like the old days

I hear what your saying Scot but it’s a 2 sided coin, if he hadn’t had those injuries and had 2 storming seasons instead and city or Liverpool etc came calling I wonder would he still want to stay at villa or would he do exactly what Delph or grealish done?
I wish him nothing but the best but no matter who he is or how long he’s being here he’s not more important than sustaining the upward trajectory we find ourselves in the past few years.
