So according to Romano we are in concrete talks with Seville for Logic Bade, he won't be cheap, but if you couple that with the news we have turned down the offer from turkey for Carlos and there are other clubs interested in him, I wonder could it be a double deal with Carlos going back to them?

I think the Bade story has legs to be honest, I don’t believe we are only 12 million inside our safety margin for psr, defence is our biggest problem so if money was that tight I reckon we would of recalled illing jr for the wing and spend our money on defence, I think Emery is just being clever saying what he said today about Malen cause we don’t want our pants pulled down in negotiations for other players.
It’s hard to see Duran getting sold in this window unless we get 100 million which will set us up for the next 3 years so it won’t be the end of the world if it does happen, it wouldn’t surprise me if we sign 2 more first team players, our defence is awful and Emery and the board have to know it aswel they ain’t blind, I’ll be gonsmacked if we don’t sign some quality options for defence.

Could we afford him. I thought we were in danger of falling foul of PSR rules. We have spent €117m and brought in €67m. If we were close before, surely being another €50m in debt won't help. Might be some truth in the Watkins and Konsa leaving rumours.

The thing with Villa is that we had to satisfy PSR by june 30th which ended that financial period after we achieved that we move into 24/25 period which is a whole new ball game, we have substantially increased income thanks to Chris Heck so there is that to consider as it will increase spending power, we also have champions league money and the increased income from those matches to include.
so it's difficult to say exactly how we sit, basically what we spend now we will have to balance the books by June 30th 2025 but we have that extra income as stated, Villa and Monchi will not buy players that we can't afford so whoever we get in we should be assured that the maths has already been done.

Anyone else sick of reading about the corner that never was in the West Ham game, I know it's annoying when the ref makes that kind of mistake but at the end of the day it wasn't his fault that they didn't defend the corner, paqueta didn't help them to much throwing himself on the ground trying con the ref.
The same fans would do well to remember the ridiculous penalty they got against us back in august.
Personally I think they should be looking closer to home for the reason they lost the game, the fact that we only actually played proper football for 25 mins and it was enough to beat them says it all really

Hey daz, I'm just after reading your comment on page 2 about peaking 2 early, a lot of sense in your comment to be fair, and in a way I think your right that we did peak to early but looking at finances and how screwed we would be now without the champions league money, also would we of gotten the addias sponsorship if we hadn't being going so well?
To be honest I think had we not got that money now we would be in a very bad spot, definitely would of had at least 1 more high profile sale and if we are struggling for finance now what would we do without that 40 million champs league money and 20 odd from adidas?
Also there are similarities between us this year and Newcastle last year but also some differences, Newcastle totally bombed in the champions league where we have thrived and they had an unbelievable amount of injuries, at 1 point they had a full team of injuries with a player for every position, I know we have a few injuries but no more than any other team in Europe.
I actually think this was the perfect year to get champions league because of the new format, I think it has caught a lot of established teams by surprise and has aided us a lot, especially with us having all our top tier games at home and the easier of the teams away.
The stats don't lie, we are struggling because we can't defend, and it's not just complicated stuff we are struggling to do the basics, we can't defend a simple long ball over the top, a diagonal switch causes us terrible problems time and again, we are not learning from mistakes in games, look at the Liverpool game with them scoring from our corners cause we got caught with no cover in the middle of the pitch, they could of had another 2 identical goals if not for Nunez poor finishing. for me it's a lot of silly mistakes and I sense a lot of it is coming from arrogance of players thinking they are better than they are, also we go down to easy looking for soft fouls constantly while whinging when soft fouls go against us, Konsa one of the worst for this in my opinion.
another big reason is Watkins can't convert his chances, once he got to 19 premier league goals last season he just couldn't hit that 20th in his last 5 odd games of the season, I think it battered his confidence and he still hasn't regained it, the summer tournament didn't help him 1 bit either.
That's 2 big problems we have and the 3rd one is poor recruiting, to much money blown on players to then send them on loan when we needed players for the here and now, I think we will be quiet active in this window with sales and in purchases, NSWE will know that as bad as we have being this season in the league there is still a huge opportunity here to get top 5 again and cement our top 6 status, especially with other big teams struggling, I think whoever is brave this January will be rewarded in may.

Hi Whack thanks for replying on my post.With regards the I'm sure I've read somewhere that we won't see that money till the end of this season I might be wrong on that so please don't quote me and with the Adidas deal I'm sure we would have had that anyway as NWSE have a major stake in Adidas.With Newcastle you are right they did have many injuries and this new format has certainly helped us but also Newcastle have been in the PL a lot longer than us in the past 10 seasons so can build a bigger and better squad as so many others in the PL.As for recruitment it's all about squad depth and just imagine if we didn't buy anyone our squad would be threadbare the only one I didn't get was Philonge but if there profit to make on a resale then I'm all for it.Watking believe it or not his GA is on par with last season games per minute this season so he isn't that far off.Now the defence and the mistakes Yes we are making more and conceding a lot more than last season why I don't know maybe missing Luiz maybe not the only thing I can put it down to is not enough training and this is down to game management IE not enough time to recover feom the last game I'm not going to insult your intelligence here mate by meaning they have to have a rest there is only so much a human body can take after all footballers are athletes imagine trying to run 2 marathons a week I played semi pro and was knakered after just 1 game and football has evolved since then.I just feel all in all mate that what we have achieved this season is a bloody miracle and who would have thought this 3 seasons ago? On my last note I will also say if we didn't qualify for the CL this season we wouldn't also have to put up with their silly FFP rules but eh mate we are where we are 5th in the CL and 3 points off 5th can't be too bad right?

Obviously Malen, that RB from celta looks the business if we can get him, with Torres out injured we look shy of a left sided CB.
I’d give Buendia till the end of the season and if he’s not back to his best I’d sell him in the summer.
I’m surprised that no premier league team hasn’t tried to sign kyogo from Celtic I think he would thrive in the PL
