Ed's I know at least one of you is a Liverpool fan, so here's a question for you. Rebuilding a successful side that has effectively grown old together is always a delicate judgement call, and much as I detested Fergie it was one he got right more often than not. So given that Salah, Firminho and Sane are I think either in there late 20's or early 30's would you sell these players whilst you could generate more than decent money, if you could land the likes of Haaland, Chiesa and Bellingham? Whilst none are premiership tested all are proven at club and international level, and given you already have the likes of Jota, Jones and Elliott coming through this would seem to me to be a really potent side with a significantly reduced average age whilst retaining the ability to kick the Mancs a### every season?.

{Ed001's Note - it is not that simple. You would need to judge them in training, do they seem complacent? Are they still working as hard as ever? Has their performance level dipped any? You certainly wouldn't sell Salah right now, that would be crazy, even if he wasn't coming into the final year of his contract. You don't sell because they will generate money, you sell because they have lost their edge or you have a better player coming through.}

For me, if it does come to a large scale rebuild at Liverpool, look at the team when Klopp first took over and look at it now. No better man for the job in the modern game.

Thanks Ed 01 I get your point and I guess a decision like that will also depend on the business model your owners want to follow and I don’t know enough about the Fenway group to say what type of view they would take, but they don’t seem willing to spend money in the same way that Chelsea, Utd and City do. If for example they were to offer Salah 3 more years he will only be worth a fraction of what he is now, and at some point you will still need to sign a replacement. At the moment you could sell for £200 million buy Haaland who I would argue would in all probability score you as many if not more goals for, if the rumours are to be believed £75 million in the summer which in today’s market is a bargain and still have significant funds to invest elsewhere in the squad which if your owners are not prepared to dig deep at least gives you some chance of competing with the likes of United, Chelsea and City.

{Ed001's Note - Haaland is a money grabber and that is why he is with Raiola, I would not touch him as he will be always wanting a pay rise and is already asking for the same salary as Salah anyway. So you may as well just pay Salah, he has a much better attitude and fits in with the team ethos. Plus Haaland has started picking up injuries, which Salah rarely does.}

Fair enough, but it will be really interesting to see at what point in time Liverpool look to replace him and the type of player they look to. However whoever it is won’t come cheap I would suggest.
