No out and out forward today. Ollie not in squad. Tammy and the beast I think are both injured.

I see we are being linked with Ordonez from Club Brugge. He is someone I would take before Aderabayo, Tomori, or Harwood-Bellis. He’s athletic, quick and the right age profile.
22 Aug 2026 22:22:15
Anyone prepared to take a punt on tomorrow's team, I'll have a go, Emi, Cash, Lindelof, Torres, Maatsen, McGinn, Kamara, Hemmings, Buendia, Garnacho, Allyson. I don't think he will start with any of the fit new signings. They will be on the bench. A lot of these players played against PSG and did well.
23 Aug 2026 05:10:34
I don't think Emi's gonna be in the squad.

23 Aug 2026 11:01:40
Scotty, I'll go.
Suzuki
Cash, Lindelof, Torres, Martsann
McGinn, Kamara, Barkley, Garnacheo
Bendia
Watkins.

Anyone having a little laugh at Man Utd and Spurs today, all that money and still s***.
23 Aug 2026 00:38:58
Heard Youri had an awful game too.
Money ain't going to fix their problems.
22 Aug 2026 15:29:08
Leon Goretzka to Aston Villa on a free.
22 Aug 2026 16:55:27
Goretzka won everything with Bayern. What a signing he would be. Harwood not in Southampton squad, looking good. Wish they would say what Ollie's doing, so we can get another striker sorted. UTV
22 Aug 2026 22:05:25
Dave, if Ollie is not in the squad tomorrow, we have a replacement lined up and he is obviously gone. If he starts, for how long?
23 Aug 2026 09:34:39
If you're right, Scotty, wonder if the new No9 is gonna be someone who hasn't been linked by the press or put forward by us, kinda like when we signed Ings out of the blue. 🤔
UTV.
21 Aug 2026 21:24:02
I see we are being linked with Balogun. Would prefer him over either Jackson or David.
21 Aug 2026 22:58:10
I don't understand why we're still being linked with Jackson because of the 45 day classed as a swap thing? (with Rogers) David would be a cheaper option that Unai could work his magic on, but I'm still holding on for something to happen with Endrick.
By my maths, we're gonna get £100M for Konsa & Ollie. Take £25-30M off that for Harwood Bellis & that leaves £70M to buy a striker, that gives us options.
UTV.
21 Aug 2026 23:33:06
Not many options. Balogun is rubbish. Just waiting for someone to suggest we hijack Troy Parrot's move to Betis! We're not getting Jimmy Endrick either!
22 Aug 2026 08:03:23
There are options out there. There always seems to be the Villa fans' view that we need to replace players like-for-like. In Watkins' case, his work rate is his best quality. I'd prefer a Bent-like striker who scores 20+ goals.
I know times have changed, but (I'll get pelters for this) I'd say Bent's work rate was more than Haaland's. They make a big thing of how few touches he has, but he does know where the net is = win trophies. 🤷🏼♂️

22 Aug 2026 08:07:49
Just to add to my last reply, I'd go for Jose Flaco Lopez of Palmeiras, & Madjo just needs to be let loose on the Prem.
UTV.
22 Aug 2026 09:22:06
So, you base your view that Balogun is rubbish on what, Bucktooth? He is young, quick, and has 59 goal contributions in 109 games. Better than 1 in 2 sounds pretty good to me, and certainly better than Zirkzee, who I see we are being linked with this morning.
22 Aug 2026 09:37:50
I remember reading an article about Balogun before he joined Monaco, that some guy who'd coached him said that he had everything, best prospect he'd worked with & was surprised Arsenal were selling him. Can't say I know too much about him myself.
There's somebody out there that Emery wants & I'm sure he'll get him. We'll probably overpay, but isn't everyone going for stupid money now? £85M for Savhino? £30M tops for him but let Spuds carry on. 🤷🏼♂️
UTV.
22 Aug 2026 14:22:52
Oh no... Definitely not Zirkzee! Can't keep supporting with like, likes of Zirkzee, Mings and Bailey on the team. Why can't we finally get a really good, reliable, continuous goal scorer?
22 Aug 2026 15:02:04
For who? Monaco? Let's be real, the French league is poor. Look at David for Juventus. He had a good record in France, and is absolutely shocking in Italy. The Italian league is only marginally better than the French. There aren't many good strikers around, which is why we're going to be getting £50m+ for Watkins, who turns 31 soon.
22 Aug 2026 17:57:33
Can you guys screenshot this?
Brian Madjo will score 20(+) goals in the Premier League this season.

22 Aug 2026 18:36:44
So Bucktooth, based on the fact that all the leagues around Europe are weaker than the PL, do we do all our shopping in the PL and pay PL prices?
23 Aug 2026 00:42:44
I'm saying there is a lack of quality strikers around. Zirkzee would be cack as well. May as well sign Richarlison. He runs round a lot and doesn't score. Swap him for Martinez.
21 Aug 2026 17:54:13
Football is about to "what if's"…….. Just thinking, what if we could have kept Malen…… what if?
21 Aug 2026 23:00:47
Biggest 'what if' for me was when we could've had Robbie Kean for £500k more than we offered, then shortly after sold Michael Oakes to Wolves for £500k. 🤷🏼♂️

There can't be many bigger squad changes at an established EPL club in EPL history, particularly as the changes affect starting XI players.
Anyone think of a club that has experienced such upheaval?
21 Aug 2026 18:35:40
Don't know about Premier, but according to Balague's book, Emery did exactly the same at Villarreal. UTV.
21 Aug 2026 12:31:48
I'm guessing Quansah would've been too expensive from Leverkuesen. Would have been as near a like for like replacement for Konsa as you'd get. If we get Harwood-Bellis for £25m and Wan-Bissaka for £15m then we've made £10m. Neither as good as Konsa though.
21 Aug 2026 17:43:24
We need Tosin Adarabioyo. We cannot compromise when it comes to such an important position.

Pluffy, everyone in football, managers, players and especially the fans, know that the whole system is corrupt. Outside of the big 6, Sky's favourites, it is now becoming a major talking point. For the last couple of seasons, it’s been one of fans' favourite chants—just how corrupt they are.
The problem is, with the power and full backing of Sky, they have to be forced into change. Now the part I can’t understand is: last year, was it, the chairman's group had an opportunity to put a stop to it; for some reason they decided not to. UTV
20 Aug 2026 23:48:14
My lad David, it was the Financial Fair Play they voted on, only 6 voted against it, that's unbelievable.
Don't know if you've seen it, but the new Paddy Power advert sums up the Premier League's attitude to a tee. They keep saying that all the talk about the Sky 6 is rubbish, but we all know it's fact.
So come on Villa, get it sorted and scare the life out of them again.
Also it's not Emery's first time rebuilding, he did it at Villarreal, I think it was, and made it successful. UTV.
21 Aug 2026 07:03:57
At Villa Park, we need to get behind the team, win, lose or draw, and at every home and away game, fans need to voice their opinions, Dave.
21 Aug 2026 10:39:09
Interesting that the CEO of the PL was on the radio yesterday, basically saying everything is ok, any team can win the PL, and he cited us as an example of a team outside the top six that proves everyone has a chance to be successful.
Coventry's chairman, Doug King, hit the nail on the head when he said the PL is basically a closed shop! Unfortunately, that isn't going to change anytime soon.
21 Aug 2026 11:32:56
Back in 2021, the Sky6 tried to break away and form a Super League. Supporters of these so-called 'six' were up in arms, objecting, protesting against the very idea. Here we are, 5 years later, and the same supporters are very quiet, witnessing what is going on.
The Sky6 got what they wanted in the end.
20 Aug 2026 11:54:22
Just reading what Richard Masters, the CEO of the Premier League, has just said about financial control really made my blood boil. Apparently Villa should be happy that they have had a good season and basically shut up.
He fails to understand that certain teams attracted rich owners who pumped millions into the clubs and then the door was shut to the others.
If he really wanted a fair system, he should look at overall club debt, not just spending on players.
The whole system is rigged. Just look at Chelsea, 74 charges outstanding and then a fraud charge.
Why weren't the police involved? How many titles and cups and money did they win due to the fraud? The Premier League reaction: fine the £47m and stop them buying academy players for 12 months; why not a complete transfer ban?
I think this is the first year since I started watching Villa in 1963 that I just can't feel excited about the season start, because I know if we finish in the top 6 we will be forced to sell our best players next year, a vicious cycle if you are not one of the big 6.
20 Aug 2026 14:14:37
Saw that article too, Plufgy. Wonder who he supports? Hasn't there been a case brought by Burnley against Everton that they won over loss of revenue, when Everton didn't get docked points till the following season, which resulted in Burnley going down? If cases are won against Chelski, if they (ever, tick tock) have points deducted, then anyone affected should sue them too.
Think only then you'll see a change in the rules. And the last thing you said, I'm super excited for the season ahead cos we're gonna shake things up. Eff the big 6!

If we get too close to the big clubs, you can be sure "specific referees" will be appointed for some matches to "control the rankings".

Hi Allstar,
The thing that annoys me about Chelsea is that, because of the fraud, they won mega millions, and the fine should be proportionate to the winnings they got whilst committing the fraud.
If not, a huge fine, perhaps have them redistribute that money throughout all the clubs in the division at that time.
20 Aug 2026 18:41:44
Big 6 though, aren't they, Pluffy? (spelt your name right this time. 😬) Citeh as well. Simon Jordan had a good rant about PSR on TalkSport, & he was spot on. Only 7 clubs have won the Prem in 33 years. Leicester & Blackburn were the only clubs outside the big 6 to do it.
Blackburn bought the title, at least Leicester earned it. Then, the next season, they had to sell their best players. Make that make sense. 🤷🏼♂️

Hi Allstar, yes, I saw that article by Simon Jordan, a football man who, in my opinion, would be excellent as the CEO of the Premier League. He knows what it takes to run a football club, not like these money men who are scared to upset the Big Six.
