Absolute waste of a shirt lazy slow and hasn’t got a clue what to do when he gets the ball what a clown problem is we spent close to 30m on this guy

Let's hope starting 11 do the job today as the bench is threadbare up front

All up to us, the results over the last couple of weeks, have certainly gone for us, once again today, two results we wouldn't have expected . UTV

Dave, it's there for us to grab. Let's hope we don't let ourselves down tomorrow and we really go for it. Depleted squad but enough belief to do it

Slightly different take on results going our way - Without meaning to sound pessimistic, Utd and Chelsea both winning could prove to more meaningful than City and Arsenal dropping points. I really do hope for a miracle that we can still be in the title race in March, but my realistic head tells me we should be more concerned about building as big a cushion as possible with other teams beneath us competing for the top four.
With fixtures piling up and squad depth being tested, not to mention Utd not having anything other to play for other than the league, I don't think we should be getting too ahead of ourselves.

Fair point dbs, I was hoping for a draw in the United game but I expected Chelsea to win their game, hopefully United go back to losing next week. the Everton game is massive, it’s also a huge test of character for this group of players, if they can take the opportunity to get 3 points clear of city I think it’s going to tell us if we are title contenders or just pretenders.
if we win it keeps a nice cushion back to Liverpool United and Chelsea but if we lose it will give them a lot of hope, I’m quietly confident we will get the job done, Everton will not be confident coming to VP with our home record. keep the faith, the crowd will be ever so important I really hope they get behind us from the off. Utd doing us a massive favour, we could go 2nd tomorrow. I'm worried how we will cope without Malen I liked him a lot and our options up front are limited to say the least but in Unai we trust I'm sure he has something planned

So Besiktas want something out of the Abraham deal.
At least one player from Villa to sweeten the deal. I get it. They had a deal with Roma and they want it honoured.
We would be the same.
It's yet another example of a poor recruitment policy. Yes, PSR affects us but we should be able to work our way around it but we keep making the same mistakes.

Mate we can go second in the league tomorrow and be 3 points clear of a team that cost well over a billion to build, why all the negativity, we are having our best premier league season ever but every post from you is negative it’s very strange, enjoy the moment mate we might not get another one, I know the psr is frustrating but there’s nothing we can do about it until we increase our revenue.
Monchi was a disaster if you ask me but we got rid of him there’s nothing else we can do. people will argue that he brought in Roger’s but one of us could of bought a championship player for a premier league team that was playing in Europe. we’re on the crest of a wave I don’t know about you but I’m going to ride it… UTV 💪

Whack it's great to be positive, however you have always been balanced with your views some iof which you have had your doubts in the past. I think leaving us short on attacking choices if only for a few games is in my opinion unforgivable, Malen has won us quite a few points when Ollie has been off the pace.
Great that we can go second tomorrow, we just need to be careful that tomorrows could be a banana skin. Injuries are obviously going to impact on us and any more could leave us in trouble. In Emery we trust I just wonder if he is making all the decisions, look at the Elliott signing.
17 Jan 2026 16:09:13
Exactly Whack every post is doom and gloom with him god forbid we ever struggle!
17 Jan 2026 16:36:15
I wish I shared your optimism, I genuinely do.
Agree with what you’ve said about winning tomorrow.
I guess nigh on 60 years as a Villa fan and seeing a number of opportunities similar to the one we’re in now melt away have tainted my outlook.
I will try and be more positive in the future but my frustration with rules and regs is bubbling away

Kamara could be out "for a long time"
Well, that sounds a lot like "he will be out for a long time"
Without any signings yet, it's safe to say we're in for a difficult 3 weeks or so.
Damn it!

So Malen has gone.
I understand the reasons given but the timing is a little odd.
Game on Sunday and one attacking option down. Guessand is back, but unless he has suddenly discovered some form it will leave us a bit vulnerable. You never know, he could come on and have a blinder.
Hopefully it's just the one game before a replacement is found.
Games are going to hit us thick and fast after Sunday. 7 games in 23 days over 3 competitions. We need our current squad 100% fit if we're going to compete. This is the critical period of the season now.
Emery is a world class coach/manager, it cannot be denied.
I hope he can pull off some more magic. UTV!

What on earth is Colly talking about, straight swap Konsa for Konate, says it would suit everybody. Personally I think that's more in Liverpools favour, Konate always looks slow and a Red card waiting to happen UTV

Bang on Dave, what planet is Colly on, is this his way of offloading Elliot as part of his pie in the sky deal, has he been asked to put it out there to see a reaction.
