So Mr Watkins was very vocal on behalf of the team recently regarding atmosphere, fans leaving early etc. Be interesting to see if he uses his platform this evening apologising on behalf of the team? I won't hold my breath.
Really poor that was, Torres and Martinez between them for the goal is pony.
We never looked like cutting them open at any point.
I understand Guessand has just landed back from AFCON but he's absolutely dreadful, between Monchi and Emery they've had an absolute howler signing him. We are very vocal regarding PSR restricting us and it's frustrating but the summer window signing Sancho on a massive wage, Elliot waste of ink on the contract and Guessand we really have to look at ourselves and our recruitment. Everyone will blame Monchi but Emery has final say on the everything football related so he has to take responsibility also for these players lack of impact and contribution.
Malen scored for Roma also just to top it off.

Martinez for the second game in a row, Buendia again light a deer in headlights when starting.
Watkins miss absolutely criminal and Sancho doesn’t give a toss. Looked decent against Chelsea but that maybe because he had a point to prove from last seasons loan they didn’t make permanent.
Time for Unai to work another miracle but can’t see it.

Great win and a great second half response with Emery yet again earning every bit of his wage.
Onana I thought was superb when he came on and got hold of the midfield, Buendia I think we all want it to work and he's provided some superb moments this season for us but in terms of his contribution over 90 mins or however long he plays as a starter he doesn't quite cut the mustard for us. There were many that never covered themselves in glory first half but for such a nice technical footballer he looks so panicked and rushed sometimes and gifts the ball back to the opposition so easily.
Also shout out to McGinn, again another one who was below par today but that last ditch touch 52nd minute proved absolutely vital and stopped them going 2 up and potentially killing the game.
Onwards and upwards to Arsenal. going to be a tough ask but after seeing them against Brighton today they can definitely be got at.

Dan we’ve said the same thing, Buendia much better when coming on as a sub . It’s his energy he brings, when the opposition is tiring, he’s been great, certainly glad he didn’t go to Germany.UTV

Haven’t made it to the game today, I know our atmosphere is bad when I’m sat in the stands but my god it’s even more obvious how bad it is on the tv.

Granted the ref hasn't covered himself in glory for both teams but anyone else fed up of our players waving their arms around like babies anytime a foul isn't given.
Rogers in particular this season has developed this complex he can't be tackled or anything 50/50 has to go his way.
Been a really bad 45 between two teams who look so poor in the final third. Fingers crossed we grab an early goal second half and turn the game on it's head.
1.) 23 Nov 2025 15:47:56
He’s made up for that first half, 2 smashing goals, he’s obviously being practicing that one after going to the bench to see nanny McPhee ??
2.) 23 Nov 2025 16:59:10
Certainly did make up for it. Emery with great substitutions yet again Malen and Barkley both having a hand in the goals.
Considering we were so sloppy it's great to get out with 3 points considering Leeds home record being so strong particularly when scoring first

Sterling had one less goal/assist than Diaby last season. Our fans deemed Diaby a quality signing but Sterling is deemed not good enough for us?
19 Aug 2024 18:24:05
Well Felix is off to Chelsea
24 Jul 2024 03:16:53
Let’s be honest Diaby was poor last season, throw the stats at me all you want but I watch football with my eyes and he looked lost most of the time.
I’d say Emery and co have seen we can make a profit and took it and ran. Diabys stats suggest he was a top performer last season and there would be plenty more sniffing round him if that was the case.
Great but of business for me

The job emery has done is a double-edged sword, yes he's proven the owners have made the correct decision.
But as the astute businessmen our owners are they may well be looking saying hold on unai that £150m you wanted when you joined in November can go on ice here's £75m as you've took this group from 17th to potentially Europe so it can't all be bad from a playing staff perspective.
Not saying that's what's going to happen but let's not all hang our hats on a war chest for a complete overhaul

2 points
A. We will never get him in a million years
B. We'd all love him at the club if he signed, pivotal part of a world Cup winning team
Anyone that says he's not for us is deluded
25 Jan 2026 19:37:49
Buffer to 6th is worst case as top 5 will get champions League again
19 Jan 2026 06:35:02
The blame definitely lies at Emery's door as well as Monchi.
This is a guy that's paid £72m for Pepe at Arsenal.
Unai Emery has been the best thing to happen to this club since the new owners saved us. But that doesn't mean everything he does is right and amazing and he never gets things wrong or makes mistakes.
He's been backed to the best of the clubs ability and unfortunately his recruitment has been very hit and miss, with the recent summer window we signed Guessand, Sancho and Elliott, all will have been signed off by Emery as he has full control of all football related matters. Yes they may not have been his first choice but they will have been on a short list compiled by Emerys team and approved by the man himself.
It is my only criticism of him that he has been a major contributor in our precarious PSR position as what money we've had and given him has been wasted fairly regularly
18 Jan 2026 21:18:22
I know because our structure was released fairly recently and Monchi and now Olabe report into Emery not the other way round.
When Emery is linked elsewhere by the media a sizeable chunk of our fanbase including yourself I'd imagine use the excuse "why would he go when he has full control of everything"
When there's a recruitment issue that doesn't work out the narrative changes to "Monchis fault"
Can't have it both ways unfortunately.
The guys been absolutely unreal for us and we wouldn't be where we are without him but he makes mistakes.
Emery paid crazy money at Arsenal for Pepe so let's not act like he gets everything right.
18 Jan 2026 18:41:23
Not going to get too low as we are in the main having a superb season.
It just frustrates me when Watkins comes out having a dig at the fans recently on behalf of the squad yet they churn that out tiday.
I personally am perplexed regarding our recruitment strategy, I understand we can't just spend what we want when we want but as a club we have got our recruitment horrendously wrong this season and I think it may start to tell the deeper we go into the season.
Monchi will get the blame and don't get me wrong he's got to shoulder responsibility for sure but Unai runs the show and has final say on all football related matters and between them signing Elliot, Sancho and Guessand we've self harmed with PSR massively.
Then this window up to now we've signed shall we say prospects for the years ahead but seem to have no sense of urgency to assist us in the here and now.

More concerned about the second half display than who the commentators are to be fair.
