1st of all John Terry I think is a good cbk for this league. Now only thing that concerns me is how Black players and fans take to him as we all know he is racist. it might upset people not to mention him sleeping with people's wives. I know a lot of players have openly came out saying they don't like John. last thing we need is an upset dressing room so yes I am 50-50, but he is a great player.

Now I have said many times I do think Villa will go up but not automatic as we need to win mostly every week and come on you seen last year our away form was awful that just don't go over night. A lot of Bruces signing didn't do well that's not me being negative that's facts hogan was a crock an lansbury stats wise was 30 percent pass rate no assits no goals connor hourihane couldn't get in the team james bree couldn't get in the team we had a awful season last year are these players just going to turn into superstars over night?

We need to improve not just players but managers tactics aswel 11 behind the ball against teams like burton is a joke we have spent a fortune attack.

I am more concerned with getting a goalie in over Terry,
Terry is a great player and leader but it's turning into a Terry circus all about him,
We need to focus on other positions to be honest,
And one player I want to see involved this season is green,
Was just showing what he was about when injury stopped him in his tracks,
Do hope Bruce keeps him involved otherwise I fear he could be poached from premier league.

Doesnt anyone on here rate terry just looked at everyones posts, if we sign him he will sort out our back four or five plus he is a born leader an will teach our young defenders how to read the game properly . for me its a no brainer he is still miles better then any defender we have . It's all well and good signing Terry. Personally, if he signs, I'd play the 3 together with wing backs.
We have signed great Championship midfielders last season, that for some reason didn't seem to work out.
We signed 3 of the most prolific strikers that haven't gelled ( no service admittedly) .
All well and good but we need a bloody keeper! Stop messing around and get Ruddy.

Hull City at home to start the season looking at our fixtures and the teams and managers in this league this year I don't think its going to be as easy as people think going up. Brum have a right easy start. Ours is really tough but if your going up we are gona have to do what Newcastle and Brighton did and that's win almost every single week that's home and away can we do it gona need a lot better players than what we got that's a fact!

Although there are no easy games in this league I also think all games are winnable. We shouldn't be scared of Hull at home. Need a tricky left winger to help green out. Someone in the damarie grey or Nathan remond mould. (Obviously not them 2 as I'd doubt they would come) .

But it's the away form i'm worried about,
We were very poor away last season and we need massive improvement in that department,
First 15 games will tell me if Bruce is the man to take us up,
And if we are really going for these golden oldies in Terry and Whelan then I am more worried,
Ledley over Whelan any day,
Terry is very risky with his massive ego,
He could be what we need or he could be another Robert pires?
These next 3 weeks will be very interesting.

Dont think hull are to be feared! I always said it would be a tough ask to go straight back up or indeed it will be be this season. its not a given, but to say get rid of the bruce if we struggle is so short sighted. I think we will do okay though. we will do better than last season provided we, re not crippled with injuries. i'm just chomping on the bit to see who we are going to end up signing. john terry we don't need would much prefer a younger player wih leadership qualities.

Just wondering, what are your thoughts on who we will sign this summer - It looks like there isn't massive amounts to spend unless we can sell some fringe players but where do you think we need to strengthen? For me I think we need a GK, a new CB, cover at LB if Amavi goes, cover for Jedinak and creative MF / Winger? Would you all be happy to start the season with this 11 considering Kodjia will be injured?

Bree, Chester, Terry, Taylor

Jedinak, Lansbury

Adomah, McCormack, Green

Hogan


I still think McCormack has something to offer and could bring the best out of Hogan.

What do you guys think? Would we need a Whelan instead of Lansbury with the front 4?

Would not go for whelan and still not sure about terry if I'm honest,
Could be the best signing to take us up or the worse another robert Pires?
We need a better goalie than johnson in my opinion,
Janapunic from Hull would be my selection,
Or john ruddy,
We need a left winger but I do hope that Bruce plays green on a regular basis,
I'm not a colback fan as well .
But Bruce is after him by all accounts,
Boyd would be a decent buy.
But we will have to wait and see when Bruce returns from Portugal.

I'm not entirely convinced by Terry either, I think he has lost his pace but I just wonder would his presence and experience be worth the gamble - Adding a figure like John Terry to the dressing room could be either inspirational or a distraction - Personally I would lean towards inspirational but perhaps that is wishful thinking.

Do you think McCormack has a place at Villa? He was outstanding prior to his move, surely he can regain that form and prove a very useful asset - He could be the perfect partner for Hogan as well? Kodjia is amazing and we would have been lost without him but him and Hogan don't appear to work.

Scored goals are fulham and Leeds but it's the old story they come to villa and they simply turn into rubbish,
Hope he gets his act together and fixes his gates this year?

Terry lost his pace about 5 years ago but he never really had much any way and as little fatty mccantbeasredanymoremac we need to get rid unless he comes back slim after working hard at pre season which i doubt because he knows he is on a very good contract so he can just put more weight on i hope we beat blues to the terry signing but whelan would be a ok signing but i would buy ryan woods from brentford CM local lad.

Although to be pedantic, we have three top scorers.

I like the team, although can't see past the Scottish Cafu at rb.
And I like Johnstone. I think he is young, but got better by the minute last year, a full season would be just what he needs. Just not keen on the loan system.

Now terry!
I would kill to get him, he is priceless. A pure winner.
His ethos, mentality would be infectious.
If he played 50% games, and installed a winning belief. Perfect.

Terry is 36 and would more than likely command record breaking championship wages but this is how I look at the situation. Terry is not the player he used to be, but what he used to be was one of the best CBs in world football, an absolutely world class player, so if Terry is now operating at 50-70% of what he used to then that is still an incredibly good footballer and one that would stand head and shoulders above most, if not all, CBs in the division. Add to that the experience and winning mentality that he would bring it seems like a no brainer to me.

Saying all this, I still expect him to move elsewhere, it just seems a little too good to be true :- (.

Terry I admire his quality and leadership but thinking about it not sure if he would fit?
I said about him in earlier post that he would be a great signing but not so sure now,
36yr on 100 grand and now prone to injurys,
Whelan for me is no better than we have got plus another player wrong side of 30 plus,
Boyd could do well for us so I would go for him,
I am not thrilled by bruces type of players he wants but we have to give him a chance with his players he gets.

I agree on Ruddy, and he is on a free right now. The other players I would like to be signed are Ledley, Hanley and Borini.

Bacuna, Elphick, Steer, McCormack, Richards, Amavi, Sánchez, Gil and Veretout are the players that I think should be sold.
I don't rate Johnstone at all, so he should go back to his club.
