The former Belgium assistant coach, Thierry Henry agrees to become the new Aston Villa manager, if he has the full backing of the board. Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris will have a meeting with Steve Bruce, as they are unconvinced in his capabilities to guide Villa back to the Premier League.

Lads, I have exciting news! According to what I've read, Villa are looking to sign central defender Lamine Koné from Sunderland and defender Dan Burn from Wigan. Villa are also looking to sign midfielder Mason Mount on loan from Chelsea.

Thought you said exciting news?

Despite owner Xia's recent comments, Aston Villa are reportedly in pole position to sign Abel Hernández on a free again this summer.
This is pretty good news to me. He would be another great Villa-player!

Hernandez=physio been a busy person-when he's fit and in the mood he's top banana, but how many games can he stay fit for? on a freebie so maybe worth a punt?

2.) 19 May 2018 13:09:07
And then we should sign Krul, if we fail to sign Johnstone. Destro and Helander would also be good for Aston Villa. My opinion.

3.) 19 May 2018 14:21:14
Lots of options if we go up, if we don’t these players won’t come near with a barge pole.

30 Dec 2017 12:26:11
Aston Villa is interested in signing centreback Steven Caulker, who was recently with QPR.

1.) 30 Dec 2017 13:15:34
Also rummored to be after Nick Powell,

2.) 30 Dec 2017 13:36:15
isnt caulker "mr relegation"

3.) 30 Dec 2017 13:49:08
Wouldn't mind us signing him up. on a free, need the cover plus definitely potential there. hopefully could learn from JT and emerge as a good move for everyone.

4.) 30 Dec 2017 15:57:24
He's been released due to gambling and alcohol addiction. Don't think we want him thanks. Shame because he was good. Released by mutual consent.

13 Dec 2017 14:20:49
Aston Villa is interested in signing Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths permanently in the January transfer window.

He would be a good signing, and apparently he fits the bill.

Let's roar Villa into action in tonight's game against Norwich.

My prediction: 3-0 to Villa. :D.

1.) 23 Oct 2018 18:16:01
Fair play mate pi$$ed already.

2.) 23 Oct 2018 18:25:18
Hopefully 3-2 villa.
Must be goals in this match .

3.) 23 Oct 2018 19:12:26
Ste76, why are you pi$$ed.

Steve Bruce is sacked by Aston Villa. Good riddance!

No more bad managers this time! I can't stand Moyes, Smith, Terry, Wilder or Allardyce or others in that category. They just don't have management skills.

I've just read that Henry is keen on the Villa job. Somebody like him would be good for Aston Villa. I would also welcome a good Portuguese manager any day.

I predict a 2-0 victory tomorrow, and then I believe Aston Villa will play Fulham in the Wembley final.

Hnchmchl85

1.) 14 May 2018 15:04:41
I think the game tomorrow with be a harder game than what some fans think
We can not defend deep again but they will try and hit us on the break.
Also they have a decent recent record at villa park,
As we do well at there ground most times,
So I'm expecting a really difficult game but as long as we get through that's all that matters,
Come on you lions!

2.) 14 May 2018 15:28:47
It all depends on the line up - Can Jedinak play 2 games in 4 days?

Also, Elmo looks like he is not going to make it and I assume Taylor is still unfit - Who comes in for him, Bree or Bjarnson?

Would you consider changing the 11? Kodjia for Grabbob or Adomah?

3.) 15 May 2018 13:09:57
Okay, I would've used a 4-5-1 counter-attacking formation then, since I believe that most of the players are pretty tired today: Johnstone (GK), Bree (RB), Terry (CB), Chester (CB), Hutton (LB), Snodgrass (RM), Lansbury (CM), Hourihane (CM), Bjarnason (DM), Adomah (LM) and Kodjia (ST) .

Substitutes: Bunn, Richards, Samba, Jedinak, Whelan, Green and Grabban.

I know that Villa are a little low on players, but this is my best advice I have for tonight's match.

4.) 15 May 2018 15:14:17
What about Grealish?

21 Apr 2018 17:03:04
What a good display by the Villa!

It would be nice if the lads manage winning the last two matches. Then Fulham must either lose or draw against Sunderland and Birmingham (both teams are in a relegation battle), so it could happen. And if Cardiff loses against Derby and draws against Nottingham Forest and Hull and wins against Reading, Villa will win automatic promotion, probably on goal difference.

Come on, Villa!

No chance of the above happening.
More chance of your numbers coming in on the lottery
Let’s just look forward to the play offs.

2.) 21 Apr 2018 18:50:09
I hope that they can maintain this form.
It should ensure that the players keep a positive outlook so that even if we only make the playoffs they know it is still all to play for till the very end.

12 Mar 2018 13:09:49
My prediction for tomorrow's match: Aston Villa-QPR 4-0.

Hnchmchl85

1.) 12 Mar 2018 14:00:45
That 4_0 prediction is well attainable after the weekends result. Be nice to have villa park packed out again even if it is a week day fixture. The twelth mans roar on saturday played a major part in our win so it would be nice to replicate it tmoz. Another three points tomorrow keep the pressure on those in and around us will do nicely. A definate win for us can't invisage a slip up on our part.

2.) 12 Mar 2018 14:23:24
After the old mayors show and all that!
I am thinking of a 1-0 win,
Longs we win that's all that matters.

3.) 12 Mar 2018 17:43:02
1 - 0 will do me!

Dean Smith is impressing me. I don't believe we should've won yesterday, but it was close!
I believe that we will qualify through play-offs this season, though, and end up on 3rd place. We can atleast do that.

Come on, the Villa! :D.

Agreed. I think that every Aston Villa-player should get the chance to play. I rate Lansbury, he can do well for us.

No, Villadave. The only reason that I didn't trust him completely was that he has managed one win at home against Swansea so far. I mean, that not hard to accomplish. I'm not being negative, I'm just being realistic. I do want Smith to succeed, of course. And if he manages to create more victories and qualify Aston Villa to the Premier League, then we must definitely keep him. For the rest of his career! Several managers who have come in since Martin O'Neill left have not been successful. I just don't want to see that again with Smith, that's all.

Good result yesterday from what I saw in the highlights. I'm not going to trust Smith 100 % quite yet. But he seems to be the right man for Villa in ages and if he continues firing up the squad, then there is hope for us.

By the way, he presented the right tactics and formations. Up the Villa!

In all honesty, Sherwood did really well for us in his short period during the 2014-15 season. It was when Lerner decided to interfere with player signings next season that everything went downhill. The 2015-16 is our worst performance to date. It's no wonder.

Yes, we lost yesterday, but I'm going to give Smith my support. I believe he can turn things around. And I agree that we need more players. I think that the most we need are two central defenders. We can't get Caulker, he signed for Dundee in February. So, who can we get in the January transfer window?

I agree, Hutton is one of my favourite defenders at Villa, so is Chester. We should keep hold of them.

I've been reading that we have been looking to sign Myhill. If we could get both Myhill and Hernández, that would be great news too. But it looks to me that not much is happening yet.

Villa should qualify to the Premier League this coming season. This time it has to happen. Agree?

What if Doug decided to own the club again. I remember the club doing well under his administration. Just a thought.
