Rumour is that the Amavi deal is close to being finalised, all that it's left is the medical. Marseille will loan the player with the option to buy for a total of £9 million.

Another rumour is that we can finally get rid of Bacuna. Reading-manager Jaap Stam has apparently reignited his interest in signing him. But Aston Villa is waiting for an improved offer.

Shame stam can't take Richards as Well?
Pleased to see bacuna go he is useless in my book,
Amavi I hope does well,
Great going forward but defense is not his strongest point,
But he has a good character.

2.) 10 Aug 2017 11:48:27
Amavi is officially a Marsille-player now. The loan deal is finalised with a view of permanent signing.

3.) 10 Aug 2017 11:53:31
Bacuna very useful in the squad and good midfielder on his day, never going to succeed here however especially after that reaction on Saturday, booing your own player half way through a game because he's had a bad game - embarrassing, and also the reason it's going to be 100x harder for us to get anywhere, when the fans are so eager for you to fail so they can moan and boo, how can you expect the players to perform. Poisonous.

Cissokho has made a permanent switch to the Turkish Super League club Yeni Malatyaspor. The fee is believed to be in the region of £1,3 million.

I think that it is not that bad of a fee since Aston Villa paid £2,4 million for him. That is one player offloaded.

Hnchmchl85

1.) 03 Aug 2017 10:02:51
I can't believe someone paid money for him, fantastic business for us if the fee is accurate.

2.) 03 Aug 2017 10:32:48
Good business getting any money for him and his wages off the books, if amavi is sold now we'd need to sign another left back.

3.) 03 Aug 2017 11:05:03
lol Ashley cole anyone?!

4.) 03 Aug 2017 11:16:36
aww Flackie surely your not on about nicking him from under Birmingham Citys nose? like we would do that right lol.

20 Jun 2017 10:09:36
Villa could be looking to sign the recently released John Ruddy as the team's new goalkeeper.

He seems like a decent option with quite many great saves.
What do you think, lads?

Hnchmchl85

1.) 20 Jun 2017 14:24:28
Hope this rummor is true,
I wanted either japonica from Hull or ruddy!
I don't rate this Johnson as much as Bruce does,
Excuse my spelling of the hull keeper,

Hey lads. Just want to inform you that if Sheffield Wednesday loses the next four matches and Aston Villa wins the next four matches, then we can be in the play-offs and possibly qualify for the Premier League. There are eight matches left, so technically we can still do this. Let's continue supporting the team. Up the Villa!

Hnchmchl85

1.) 27 Mar 2017 11:31:24
Are u forgetting all the teams between villa and Sheffield Wednesday? They aren't all going to lose all their games.

2.) 27 Mar 2017 11:32:35
I belive brother I belive! UTV.

3.) 27 Mar 2017 11:48:12
Bit misleading mate, we aren't 7th, still relying on Barnsley, Derby, Preston, Norwich, Fulham and then Sheffield Wednesday on top of that.

4.) 27 Mar 2017 12:14:17
Jesus christ almighty.

5.) 27 Mar 2017 21:29:40
^^^^Pmsl I think that's who we need Mendex.

6.) 28 Mar 2017 09:07:28
8 games let and i think we should be dissapointed if we come away with less than 15 points.

7.) 29 Mar 2017 18:47:42
I think you're right Villadaz
I'd still only rate our chances as 1 in 10
Not a hope of making the playoffs.

8.) 29 Mar 2017 19:30:56
I'm not sure reaching the Prem this season would be a good result.
Another season in championship with positive results, go up as winners, or runners up.

Yeah a good run till end of season to keep momentum going. but to go up now, we would be whipping boys again!
No thanks!

9.) 30 Mar 2017 14:36:22
Considering when Bruce took over we were 11 games in with 1 win 3 losses and 7 draws, teetering above the relegation zone, I'd be more than happy finishing in the top 10, with a good run of form coming to the end of the season. One of the best squads in the league, competitive and looking favourites to go up next year. And tanking the blues at home putting them in the relegation zone would be a nice bonus.

10.) 30 Mar 2017 16:50:23
We are not making play offs lads, asking a little to much with our current position. love your enthusiasm though. More to the point, How do you think we will fair against Norwich. we have people back from injury and suspension so we should perform well. looking to another win to keep our momentum going in the right direction. It should be a good game think it will be fiercely contested.

11.) 31 Mar 2017 09:15:56
norwich and brighton are the only teams i think we can struggle against, now we might not make playoffs but as long as we go down fighting we can improve on this team and easy walk the league next season.

12.) 31 Mar 2017 09:50:28
Why would we want to go up this season?
We need to treat the last 8 games as an extended pre season and get everyone fully fit and ready to fight from the first game next time around.
If we play this right we could be unbeaten next season with the best defence and the most creative midfield in the country with two of the hottest strikers in the British isles (If Jimmy Danger starts passing)

It is not beyond the realms of possibility that we go on a good cup run and get more than one Wembley day out of 2018. let's face it the Liverpool game was probably the best feeling since Blues 5-1 and the Arsenal final was a great day apart from 90 minutes where we watched 11 players on the pitch v 11 gnomes fishing for a plastic koi that's already stuck on their poles.

Lets do what Bruce says and get in one or two good players that will help the squad, not whole sale changes as he did in January, but he has learned and admitted that that was the wrong thing to do.

I would have downing back if that would add something but if it doesn't let's blood some of the young and hungry kids that want to play for the shirt and would die for the Lion.
Just look at the youngsters brawl against West Ham that's passion.

Up the Villa
Lets smash the canneries tomorrow.

See you in the Tavern before for a pint.

13.) 01 Apr 2017 12:25:08
Not mathematically impossible but most improbable that we reach 6th. As for being too early and why would we want it now, any promotion will need a good rebuild and as we have heard we will need 3 overhauls 1 promotion side, 2 Premier survival side and 3 top four contender side. I would love we could start now but also am realist let's muller Canaries today as need to get a massive win at VP at least once this season! UTV.

14.) 02 Apr 2017 09:18:23
Well done villa and my little smirk continues to smirk at all the brucie doubters who wanted him sacked not so long ago (rome)

11 Jan 2017 20:10:54
Aston Villa's £3 million offer for Henri Lansbury has been accepted by Nottingham Forest. Medical now expected.

1.) 11 Jan 2017 21:44:24

2.) 12 Jan 2017 01:11:19

I'm guessing a 3-0 victory for Villa against the Latics in today's League Cup match.

Hnchmchl85

1.) 22 Aug 2017 12:49:50
We won't keep a clean sheet.

2.) 22 Aug 2017 16:32:06
Aston villa 2 vs 0 Wigan.

29 Dec 2016 22:02:38
Another poor display from the lads. Kodjia had two big chances in the end and couldn't score. Shame, because I really thought we could win this match too.

Ruud Gullit says he would consider the role as Aston Villa manager, if he were offered the job. Any thoughts, lads?

Hnchmchl85

1.) 31 Mar 2016 08:56:21
After hearing what he did at chelsea, and how Steve Clarke saved his bacon on many occasions, if gullit applies, smile politely and run for the hills!

This time I don't only blame the players for the loss but also the manager.

Garde's formation needs to change right now, it's not working. He should have been able to see that by now instead of saying that it was disappointing and the players were unlucky. They weren't unlucky, they didn't play well.
And Garde must stop using Richards as CB when he is naturally a RB. I saw enough mistakes at the Everton match that I didn't expect Garde to repeat again at the Watford match.

If Garde doesn't change the formation, then we will surely be relegated.

1.) 29 Nov 2015 16:50:54
We had no luck yesterday, and should, and possibly could of been 3 or 4 up at half time.
First half, Hutton was our best player. Followed by Richards, at centre back.

Yes the own goal was poor, but I don't blame Hutton, he has to make a challenge, the keeper should of cleared it.

We need confidence, and some believe.
Our players sadly are losing, as they are not prem quality.
They are not playing out of position, or any wrong formation, they are just meeting better players. They need unity, luck, and confidence.

2.) 29 Nov 2015 20:50:07
I agree with Flackie that by and large, these players aren't good enough
The question is, why are the people who are supposedly responsible for recruitment still at the club?

3.) 29 Nov 2015 21:05:57
That's my point!
We are damaged at the top. The head!

So much French connection now, shame they didn't bring a guillotine!

According to Expressandstar.com, the Italy international Mattia Destro is rumoured to be on his way out of Roma, and has a £9 million price tag.

This is the ideal striker for me, and I think he is the absolute replacement for Benteke right now.

He knows where the goal is, scoring a total of 74 goals for both club and country.

I don't care for Bruce. He's not a good manager, and never was. Aston Villa will lose against Newcastle tonight, then he should be sacked. Bring in somebody better.

I agree on Ruddy, and he is on a free right now. The other players I would like to be signed are Ledley, Hanley and Borini.

Bacuna, Elphick, Steer, McCormack, Richards, Amavi, Sánchez, Gil and Veretout are the players that I think should be sold.
I don't rate Johnstone at all, so he should go back to his club.

And we gladly take those three points. I just think that a few things could've been better the last 35 minutes.
Up the Villa!

Well, it's finally a 1-0 victory, but I'm still not pleased with a few things. Although Bruce tried today, I still think he can do better.

Certain bookings we could have been without, for instance Bscuna (he should not be played anymore, I think) shouting at the linesman towards the end of the match. Taylor's booking we could have been without too.

I think Bjarnason is best at central midfield. Both Johnstone and Green looked pretty good today the last 34-35 minutes that I saw. Overall a solid performance.
