for weeks I've been saying this and most time i get moaned at but why is it we have one decent set piece taker (constantly on bench conor h) we have one decent striker (injured for god knows how long) and no midfielder who can create or shoot at goal?

said from moment we went of lansbury its a crap buy and he is going to drag the midfield down more than it already was and so far point proven,

its a must that in the next few weeks we go and either buy (if FFP allows us to) or loan a striker who can actually hit a shot and head the ball, damn if need be a player like crotch will do. and a player who will run at defenders and shoot from midfield (just not sure who fits that bill)

Lol player like crotch!

2.) 12 Aug 2017 22:20:24
Mate it's easy to say "said this from the start" "said this when we" but without evidence you talking rubbish, step down from the high horse. Makes you sound a tool.

3.) 18 Aug 2017 07:01:45
Actually Crouch would be an intelligent signing. Good with both head and feet and brings other players into the game.

as much as i wanted the man to do well and still hope he can i can't help but wonder. why does garde still have a job? i think its clear to see the man is not right for the team at this moment in time, sack him off and get someone like moyes in for at least the rest of the season if need be. pearson was my call to 4 games ago but he is not the man we need now.

i have only seen the highlights of the game today but jan can't come quick enough. guzan (have back him all the way but can't do it anymore), richardson and westwood are the first players we need replacing, how do we battle like that last game then play this way today?

and clark? absolute belter for ireland but for us shocking.

we was very unlucky to lose yesterday, but the fact is we wtill lost.

for 45 minutes we was the better team and should have been 2 up by half time from what I've seen of highlights, but all that being said i think i feel the same as most when i say tims got to go.

if moyes really has come out and said he wants the job and that's not just paper talk i think we need to get on the next flight over there and get his name on the dotted line.

but something needs to change before its just too much for any manager to fix.

strikes

1.) 19 Oct 2015 09:48:10
unlucky or not he has to go before its too late, guzan is a clown always putting defence under pressure westwood has no idea what to do with the ball sideways or backwards hutton is hit n miss you never know which one will turn up, why he hasn't given kozak a chance is beyond me and if randy still insisting on selling and wants top dollar he best have a word in TS shell like and tell him buck up or pack up simples!

2.) 19 Oct 2015 21:12:30
no arguments here. as you say the man has to go.

personally this should have been his last chance if not the liverpool game, two teams struggling at the moment bottom end of league they was both there for the taking.

3.) 20 Oct 2015 12:08:27
I admit that I was swept up by the initial TS feel good factor last season. I have just more than a sneaking suspicion that he is losing/ lost the dressing room and does not know what to do to get us out of the mess we are in. I am certain he will go after the Swansea game. Being linked with a manger such a David Moyes is too good to pass on. He has a proven track record, with 13 years experience in top flight, and far less risky than TS, even if he comes in and stabilizes the situation to get us up to a solid 14th /15th by new year would be a huge u- turn in fortune. If Lerner leaves it any longer we will be bottom of the table by Christmas with about 13 points in the bag if we are lucky. so a dead certainty to be relegated this time.

4.) 20 Oct 2015 20:31:01
I think we all were and tbh i'm a bit disappointed we never picked up from where we left off, I know we had about 12 new players but so did a few others and they seemed to start well albeit having a faltering moment lately. I had real high hopes during the close season but thinking about it, all them losses we had was the writing on the wall then? and for TS to keep bleetin on about having the spine ripped out of villa, delph n benteke hardly the spine tbh and cleverly just used us as a stepping stone even PL and AM had a better start to there season than we are having now I can't for the love of god understand what the hell has gone wrong being so angry is an understatement the mrs has even threatened to hit me with the rollin pin if I thump the laptop one more time and as for these stupid mail interviews oh the dressing room is buzzin we going do it this week were full of confidence geeze stfu and do your talkin on the pitch get us back up the table were we belong show some pride! and before anyone says calm down ill give meself a heart attack it already happened lol back in may the sunday after the fa cup geeze Rant Over VTID!

5.) 20 Oct 2015 22:05:57
Hi Ged
Sorry to hear about your heart attack, strange that, it happened to me as well, I was in hospital for the semi against Liverpool, couldn`t watch the game mate.
I try not to get worked up now it`s not worth it, dam hard though.

6.) 21 Oct 2015 06:17:14
hi dave
yes mate the day after we was trounced by arsenal doctors at Coventry hosp took the p*** out me lol still waiting to have another stent put in hope you are well mate YES supporting my beloved villa seems to be very frustrating and annoying of late was realy realy hoping we would be up there with all the promises TS made how we will never struggle or fight relegation again oh well roll on the weekend onwards and upwards!

7.) 21 Oct 2015 14:19:30
Yeh I am getting there Ged, can`t` stent me because narrowing is on what they call branches, so its medication for me mate.
I fancy us to do Swansea this week to be honest, and thought we were ok against Chelsea first half, I would stick with the same side this week except for Guzan the error man.

just wondering if i'm the only one that sees it this way but with dwight yorke chucking his name in hat everyones saying "why not look at how well lampards and gerrard are doing and they have no past experience"

but i disagree as gerrard is managing one of the bigger teams (still after the troubles they had) in scotland and is only 6th in a crap league

lampard is kinda the same big team, decent squad but still only 8th. they are hardly smashing their leagues now are they?

strikes

1.) 05 Oct 2018 22:22:44
The biggest problem with yorke is that he’s been retired for some time and done nothing other than the odd tv appearance and assistant manager for T&T. Hard to see where his motivation is comming from. He hasn’t worked his way up, and not been a number 2 anywhere significant. Yorke being villa manager is about as likely and realist as usain Bolt out scoring Ross McCormack in Oz.

2.) 05 Oct 2018 23:58:55
If Yorke really wanted the Villa job he would have been working his socks off in the lower leagues or as a couch at a top club, learning his trade, but he hasn't - He doesn't deserve an interview, never mind the job.

was reading on twitter today about we can still sign free transfers till mid sept. is this true and is there a limit on how many we can sign? was playing on transfer market com (yes again) and there are still some cracking players going.

and so it begins. johnstones off to west brom, a player who last season was desperate to sign for us and i understand we are broke but two other loan deals i would love to see happen have been passed over too,

are we not going for anyone because of the lack of funds, is it down to the sale of club so we can't sign anyone?

Answers on a postcard care of the good doctor?

2.) 04 Jul 2018 12:53:56
Sale 100 per cent.

27 Dec 2017 21:50:20
just out of interest. does sacking managers and releasing players effect our FFP rules?

i know its more a theoretical question but if not i really hope we ditch least 3 or 4 players and free up some wages at least.

strikes

1.) 28 Dec 2017 10:33:31
To release a player/ manager you have to pay up their contract or at least agree a settlement. If their contract is due to run past the end of the season then you'd probably be spending more than just paying their wages.

2.) 28 Dec 2017 11:31:22
Strikes the way I was told You have a budget if you go over that your in trouble this can be by spending money on players wages or managers it will all come out that budget. Take next season, gabby won't be here so that's 50k saved out the budget, Jt who's only signed a 1 year deal so far his 70k a week will also be saved, but don't worry about Bruce if we wanted to sack him it would cost us hardly anything as its a rolling contract which means its a month to month deal.

I was told this at a meeting with Wyness when we 1st had Bruce, 1 of the deal breakers was whatever manager we had, he signed a rolling deal its a club policy.

There will be limited funds if high earners leave if you remember when JT signed for us an turned Blues down Harry said I can get 2 or 3 players for the wages JT wants even tho there was no fee wages come out your budget.

You would be surprised the wage bill at Villa Park mate Wyness has said that some players eg Gabby an Richards are on big bucks still as they didn't have relegation clauses this was a mistake by the Lerner and co. Hope this makes sense. UTV keep the faith!

3.) 28 Dec 2017 12:31:26
yeah its players like richards i was wondering about. never makes bench half the time and surely he's not injured that much so why even keep him.

4.) 28 Dec 2017 20:45:44
He is contracted nobody wants him and we don't play him and he don't want to go so only 1 who wins is richards.

there are about 4 or 5 names i would look at for free if the wages can be spent. and they would be a hell lot better than we currently have. terry and collins just 2

robert huth
nedum onuoha
Georgios Koutroubis
Benoît Assou-Ekotto
Patrice Evra
Glen Johnson
Philipp Wollscheid
Florentin Pogba
Gareth McAuley
Steven Caulker
Anthony Vanden Borre

all freebies some knocking on but still could "do a job"

huth and collins i thought for sure we would definitely get one of them in once terry left, but yeah the LB is a must for me. that or get a RB in a hutton stays LB all season ( don't want that)

out of the 3 i would rather it was smith. manager with championship experience and has the right kind of football brain for todays game rather than 10 years behind like bruce.

mellberg yes may have been very good manager in sweden but you have the obvious point with that. its sweden not great standard of football but what happens if he comes and fails? will the fans start to hate him?

but i really don't want henry. no manager background and the limit to his credibility is he's di matteos assistant manager, really can't see how that will be enough to manager at this level. so please no.
