Haven't been on here for a while and been catching up on the mood. Just got a shout for a new GK, it might have already been said, John Ruddy, free agent from Norwich, 30 years old, ex England, ticks all the boxes if we haven't got as much money to throw around

I totally agree mate. But do think it's a fine deal for Johnstone.

2.) 29 May 2017 22:11:31
Meant done deal!
(But fine fits! )

3.) 30 May 2017 12:01:54
yeah like sounds of that might even go as far as saying get them both in and let what we have already go, don't see any of the keepers we already have as worth keeping and ruddy would be very good for helping johnstone learning off.

4.) 04 Jun 2017 14:12:03
Would be a great signing👍🏼.

29 May 2017 11:08:03
Grant Hanley is a solid rumour, definitely talks happening, Elphick on the way out, there's another 1 that everyone wants on here that probs won't happen till at least January but my lips are sealed lol

I can't see Jack leaving Villa, especially to Boro or the likes of, even if they doubled his wages. He will flourish with our new midfield, give it to him in the final 3rd, not expect him to track back so much = get the best out of the most talented young player we've ever had come through imo?

1.) 27 Jan 2017 22:10:30
On the money Allyp1972 - only trouble is his agent will be thinking of all the money, and if your jack, as a very young player, how will he react to the manager seeing him as surplus.

i just hope he stays, because he might go on to flourish and get better. same kind of thing with ronaldo; first season at united not consistent and selfish, but with fergie to guide him, stellar career, and thats what i reckon will happen here.

2.) 27 Jan 2017 23:56:02
I'm sure his dads his agent, he was when he signed the new contract under Sherwood, so don't need to worry about anyone pushing him to move from his side of things

3.) 28 Jan 2017 11:04:21
Hope your right chris, it amazes me how we offer rhm the highest ever salary for an academy graduate, but when grealish got his chance he had the class and confidence to look like he'd been a first teamer for ages, yes he's inconsistent, but i can't remember any teenage player being the finished article when they made the move up.

bruce will get him into shape, he just needs to realise he can't be one of the lads, and looking after his body now will prolong his career, once that sinks in he'll pull his tail in and knuckle down, and we all benefit.

4.) 28 Jan 2017 11:35:48
Spot on ally you talking sense shame on all the people that said we should sell jack

Some players for our shopping list.
Tom Carroll (Spurs) free
Gary Hooper (Sheff Wed) £3M if they don't get promoted
Luke Garrbutt (Everton) on loan if Amavi leaves
That Susic we're supposed to be looking at looks the part, same club as Kalinic the GK we were after (Hadjuk Split) £8M the pair

If Hogan and Davis play well together on Friday, look like they'd be unstoppable, what would you do if a Prem club came in with a £30M+ bid for Kodjia.? I'm just thinking of this FFP business and the Prem clubs with ridiculous amounts of money to spend and the window closing in a week's time? As a disclaimer, I'm not suggesting that we sell him, I'm asking what would you do?

UTV.

Allyp1972

1.) 23 Aug 2017 20:07:52
That would leave us with Gabby and RHM, presuming we sell McCormack which seems likely. Neither of the two can stay fit for 5 minutes so we would be stupidly short in that department.

2.) 23 Aug 2017 20:53:21
No. 100m if we get promoted. He will get 15-20 goals this year.

3.) 23 Aug 2017 21:01:54
The ideal would be McCormack going for something like £8M, was thinking someone like Everton would be sniffing around Kodjia, if they sold Barkley. You've got to excuse me, I'm big on conspiracy theories, The Illuminati etc, it's just how I think. If I can put it another way, if Kodjia was to go for £30M+, who would you replace him with, taking into consideration that we couldn't spend all that money, I think we need some KingVilla mathematics to find out how much it could be? If McCormack was to go too, my suggestions would be Shane Long and Robbie Keane, if you're going like for like

UTV.

4.) 23 Aug 2017 20:59:48
Not been here for a while, plus I forgot my login details, to answer Allyp, we have to keep Kodjia as it's along hard season and if our strikers start scoring and tormenting defenders on regular basis you can bet your bottom dollar they are going to get injured, so yes no sale.

5.) 23 Aug 2017 21:04:59
I agree with Chris, you can bet you bottom dollar they will be kicked and fouled on a regular basis

The interesting for me is we've won two games and already the vultures are circling Andre Green or its just poor journalism.

And I'd like to say hi to my fellow villains, use to be on this forum a few years back but forgot my login. UTV.

6.) 23 Aug 2017 22:01:21
I agree with what you're saying, I'm just getting twitchy as we get closer to the window closing, and trying to come up with contingency plans for any variables that might happen. IMO Kodjia is made for the Prem, hope it is for us when we go up 👍🏻

UTV.

7.) 23 Aug 2017 22:46:39
Robbie Keane is a like for like replacement for Kodjia? Allyp mate your either off your rocker completely or living 10 years ago. To answer your question if we were to sell Kodjia for 30mil+ I'd go for Shane long, Forestieri, lassa Vibe - someone who can beat a man, that's Kodjias biggest strength. Dwight Gayle maybe.

19 Aug 2017 22:01:37
The season starts now then fellas? Kodjia back soon, players getting fitter, got a sneaky 1 that Leeds might go in for McCormack (transfer only, no loan or forget it) now it looks like Wood is off and they've got the cash. Bang the kids in against Wigan and give them the freedom to go for it, 3 points against Bristol with rested players, a surprise loan signing or 2, onwards and upwards

UTV.

Allyp1972

1.) 19 Aug 2017 23:07:22
Thats sounds great where do I sign?

2.) 20 Aug 2017 00:09:40
Tick my agree box and because you have, someone will disagree with you, even though you have been positive, and we can't be having those shenanigans going on round here WTW lol? 😉 On another subject, Davies, roughly the same age as Kane when he started off becoming a goal machine because his manager stuck with him, and at a higher level than the Championship, could be the 1 we've been waiting for?

UTV.

16 Aug 2017 09:48:35
My mate just had a great idea. Brian Little as manager, Ian Taylor and Stan Petrov as coaches?

UTV.

Allyp1972

1.) 16 Aug 2017 11:21:01
Ian Taylor as coach?
I would stick him in the team for Saturday
He is better than any of our rubbish now!

2.) 16 Aug 2017 14:54:27
Is John Gregory in a job?

3.) 16 Aug 2017 15:36:48
Nice idea mate but Brian is too old now he gets akes and pains all over.

12 Aug 2017 18:22:35
Wasn't at the game (Paw Patrol live at The Barclaycard lol) I haven't seen any of the posts mentioning that they were at the game too, so how can they judge if they weren't? Just putting it out there. On the flipside, got to go along with a few posters calling for Sherwood, at least he came across as he really cared, assuming Dr Tony does have an itchy trigger finger.? and I'd be interested to see what WTW has to say, because after today you're all saying what you've been giving him pelters for?

UTV.

Allyp1972

1.) 12 Aug 2017 18:51:44
Allyp1972
You only have to hear Bruce after the game to tell how crap the villa were,
But he has been saying the same all last season nothing has changed I'm afraid to say!

2.) 12 Aug 2017 18:54:22
I was there!
And trust me I wish I was at paw patrol.

3.) 12 Aug 2017 18:57:15
And it's the fact he wanted him to fail.

4.) 12 Aug 2017 19:29:07
I get where you're coming from, I haven't heard Bruce yet, if I can defend WTW, can you say anyone wanted McLiesh to succeed? It's a Nose thing, from memory, can only think of Curbishley not being 'wanted to fail' suppose we should be over that stuff but it's always the 1st thing we'll dig them out for. I honestly think Bruce should be given the chance to turn it around but wouldn't cry over him getting the boot and Sherwood coming in, tbh, if we don't get at least 7 points from the next 3 games like some have said, I reckon he'll be gone anyways

UTV.

5.) 12 Aug 2017 23:03:17
There's no denying WTW is a reaction poster, half the facts he posts are lies, he said lansburys passing accuracy last year was 45%, google it. And he is so eager for us to fair and so negative towards everything villa it's hard to see him as a supporter.

6.) 13 Aug 2017 00:04:33
He's this forums Farage, he's saying what most really think but most have a PC filter stopping it, got to give him credit for that? Bring on the pelters for mentioning Farage, but going back to something I've said on here in the past, Gregory and Sherwood didn't have that filter, and probs gave us some of our best moments as Villa fans, would cut off a nut to have them times back

UTV.

7.) 13 Aug 2017 09:54:19
"Says what most people think" I don't think like an attention seeking 4 year old mate, speak for yourself.

8.) 13 Aug 2017 13:31:50

Hearing rumblings that Baker is considering his future. Personally I think he could become as good as Cahill should have become for us? Even though he did well for us last season, I'd sacrifice Huttons wages to give Baker a longer contract if I was thinking long term. Do you agree/ disagree? and does Bruce/ you rate Toner as a direct replacement if Baker was to leave?

UTV.

Allyp1972

1.) 23 Jul 2017 16:20:19
I would keep baker
Is this why Richards is getting more game time?
I hope not he should have gone years ago,
Baker is injury prone but when he plays he puts his heart and soul into playing.

2.) 23 Jul 2017 17:10:40
My thoughts exactly, he'd run through a brick wall to put a challenge in, hoping Terry rubs off on him and future England captain in the making

UTV.

3.) 23 Jul 2017 22:12:26
Any evidence of these rumblings?

4.) 23 Jul 2017 22:28:46

I said heard rumblings about Baker moving on last week, so on the plus side it looks like unless Bruce is off his head, Chester is staying, only positive I can see from Baker leaving. It's done now, but 1 more thing, if Alex Bruce does come in as a replacement as some have suggested, he ain't no Maldini, but don't write him off before he's put on the shirt, he'd be a squad player, which if Elphick goes too, surely good business?

Midfield 3, Green moving from wing to wing depending on if our full backs are overrun on 1 side, I'd be thinking Jedi or Whelan in front of the back 4, Lansbury and Hourihane right and left, but advanced when possible, 2 up top or 1 and a 'No10' which then becomes a 'diamond' formation, but I'd really like to see 2 up top with Hogan feeding off Davis, in my dream world it'd be Carroll and Hogan, but Davis has got to be given a run in the team going on what we've seen so far, and Hogan has got to catch fire at some point, I see it as we're Aston Villa, let the opposition worry about US, we've got what should be a pretty solid defensive unit behind those attack minded players, surely it's better to try to win from the off, we've got the players to do it?

Swap out Bree for De Laet, Lansbury for Elmo, Whelan and Jedi (if fit) interchangeable, Green swapping wings as needed, and that's our strongest team at the mo for any game cup or league, and would be a pleasure to watch
