What a revelation Davis was, a forward that can actualy hold the ball up . The difference that made to our midfield, it aloud them to get forward . The biggest was Hoorihane
, he was like a differant player . Taylor and Green where great down the left, the one twos and making space for each other . A pity we aren't as strong down the right, Hutton got caught out that many times . When Gabby is fit again, I just hope Brucie dosent throw him back in . we have seen of Davis and O Hare, the kids have non stop movement and effort . Get them in, make room for them . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

1.) 19 Aug 2017 18:49:10
Loved Davis' hold up play today! Was like he had filled that missing link since Benteke left. Thought Bruce was spot on with sub for Hutton but there again my mom could have made that call. Houlihane was silky and movement great, excellent hatrick and Green's goal sublime. Even thought Lansbury was improved when he came on! Look forward to Bristol and Bruce keep the same team! VTID.

2.) 19 Aug 2017 22:40:48
Agree leave Gabby on a bench if he had played today, the resault would have been different.

3.) 20 Aug 2017 12:19:01
On a park's bench🤣.

4.) 20 Aug 2017 14:24:15
Safari park bench.

5.) 20 Aug 2017 15:33:39
As near too the lions as possible!

27 Jul 2017 00:10:05
Anyone else heard the rumour, Mica to Forest. I do hope it's true . Onwards and Upwards, Villa forever.

1.) 27 Jul 2017 08:49:52
Not heard that rummor,
I as well hope it's true but wages are a big issue unless we pay more than half towards them,
You never know strange things happen in transfer windows with surprises galore.

2.) 27 Jul 2017 17:09:44
yes true lets, hope he can Gabby with him.

3.) 27 Jul 2017 17:33:26
you missed the word take.

24 Jul 2017 00:47:08
Looks like we are bringing in, some talented youngsters . That lad Doyle Hayse, looked realy good this afternoon . SB seems to rate him, Green was good again and Mckirdy looked the part in the first game . A Dutch lad today and a French lad earlier, it seems we are picking them up abroad as well . Also we had reps in Italy, checking talent there I was reading . It all bodes well for the future . We looked better today at times, we still need to hold the ball better . But at least we are scoring, without letting them in the other end . Be interesting to see Brucies team against Watford, might give us a better idea what he is thinking . Onwards&upwards Villaforever.

1.) 24 Jul 2017 16:59:23
I am very pleased to see young kids given a chance,
Hayes and o"hare look half decent,
But I do hope green gets a extended go in first team,
Always liked this kid,
Think that Xia is doing it the right way now with better planing.
All we need now is Bruce to get his formation and tactics spot on then premiership here we come,

17 May 2017 13:26:22
Hearing rumour of Villa putting in bid, for Aaron Mooy . Certainly hope this one true, just what we want, a figure head in midfield . Had a brilliant season for Huddersfield . Onwards &Upwards Villaforever.

1.) 19 May 2017 21:27:51
I recommended mooy when he was playing for Melbourne city 2 yrs ago, bloody quality holding midfielder an has a decent free kick.

07 May 2017 23:39:43
Havent seen us create so many chances for ages, even though the passing at times was downright terrible . As someone else has already stated, the arguing about who took the free kick, was embarrassing. Nearly as embarrassing as Elphics, display when he came on . On a high not I thought Davis, realy looked the part .

The first forward all season to actually look to hold the ball up . The future looks bright for him . Once again Feel sorry for Hogan, let's hope it's not to bad and he's up and running for next season . There was signs of an improvement today . let's hope Brucie, can get the players in that he wants and sort a decent System out for next season . Onwards and Upwards, Villaforever.

One thing that came of the game today, the Scottish Cafu . Hutton played better today, than he plays at RB . Some of his covering and tackles where brilliant, put his marker down for the next two games . You have to give it to him, he gets dropped but his attitude is great . Got to get man of the match for Villa today, he saved two goals with his tackles . Especialy when you consider, he was on his wrong side . I know you won't believe it but, I partially agree with Walkies, what's going on down at Wolves, needs looking at a bit more closely . How can an agent be allowed, to be part of any club set up . Agents cause enough problems in football, without being given this kind of freedom . Once again the Premier league and F A caught out . Looking forwards to Fulham . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

1.) 15 Oct 2017 07:05:08
Come down and look at us if you want!
Is it because we play proper football, or is it the fact that we are a bigger club, and secretly you wannna support us?
Your club and manager are embarrassing, get up with the times, what's stopping you contacting an agent and doing the same?
Or how about the "doctor" finding some players for ya?
He's cousin is good "wang one in" Scored lots in China.

2.) 15 Oct 2017 08:17:52
The only positive from the game is that we are still in 7th place in table,
As for the game wolves bossed the game for the whole 90 mins
They had pace and exciting players all over the pitch
Yes the agent brought in these players but would villa love that to?
This is the best wolves team i have seen for many years and the manager deserves all the credit to how they are playing the game,
Villa on the other hand are slow build up and there fitness levels need to be addressed.
We are still only 5 points of the automatic places so no panic yet but we are miles away from the wolves as I see it now,
When your best player on the night is Hutton playing in his wrong position that tells you all you need to know,
On kodija what has happened to him,
He looks as if he is not interested in playing for me.
Having watched blues play against Cardiff other night with there pace up top they will be a threat to us in that department
Next 2 games we need wins now,
Wolves to me are champions elect if there big players stay fit,
Even though we lost I had to admire how they play the game,
We had that under big Ron years ago and Bruce is not the type of manager to get us playing with that style,
But I'm still behind him in getting promotion,

3.) 15 Oct 2017 10:16:06
Diane you can’t really believe that this system your club is operating will make you anything more than a feeder club? Yes it may get you to the prem but currently your developing players that you will never benefit from because when they get to that level being “good enough” they’ll be gone. I suppose a feeder club is better than a nothing club so you will enjoy it a bit more than the last 10 years however I’d enjoy the rest of the season as much as possible, after that I can’t see it being sustainable or a fairytale.

4.) 15 Oct 2017 11:48:41
Wolves owners have more money than all the Chinese owners so they won't have to sell, so upset, out classed more skill, pleasing on the eye, not one of our players would get in that side, Jealous yes I am, I want villa playing with style.

5.) 15 Oct 2017 12:10:15
Awww bless a dingle in disguise.

6.) 15 Oct 2017 12:11:26
Diamo 1 nice offer but, after nearly 60 years of watching the biggest club in the Midlands and one of historically the best in the world, I'm afraid I will have to turn you down . I can't actually work out if your a wolves or Fulham fan, if Wolves, enjoy it while you can . i'm sure eventually the FA will wake up to the fact that agents, just can't be allowed even more power . Agents are a curse on football. they cause problems for clubs and up set players wanting them on the move, if they aren't moving they are not making them money . I agree it's a very nice position Wolves are in at the moment but how long before this agent want his money makers on the move again . Wolves at the moment are a shop window for his players, the better they do the better for him . I know Wolves have bought these players, but he is the one who has convinced these very good players to go there . A good season with Wolves and they will all be getting big money moves ., then How do Wolves replace them, they will be starting all over again . So in one way or another, the agent wins again Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

7.) 15 Oct 2017 12:28:58
CHRIS I detest wolves, but love football played with style, been going up villa park since tony hateley played, age 10yrs, so don't call me a dingle.

8.) 15 Oct 2017 13:29:10
Get out there arse then, “wolves have more money than all the Chinese owners put together” my backside, show us some evidence of this. Not one of our players would get in their side, Johnstone would, a fully fit Kodjia would, Snodgrass is better than matt Doherty or Barry Douglas and your saying you’d pick any of their centre halves over JT? Do me a favour. Their attack is sublime and centre mids are way too good for this league, but your talking like the whole team are world beaters.

9.) 15 Oct 2017 20:14:50
You can't take the truth, open your eyes and see how good we are on the eye,

10.) 15 Oct 2017 21:07:22
So how good we are on the eye decides who’s better than us and who’s not, irrelevant of league position. That stinks, modern football really, don’t matter the result, don’t matter the long term aim, as long as we look good. You’ve obviously never watched a Jose Mourinho team in a derby game, results come first, not entertainment.

11.) 15 Oct 2017 21:08:02
And also if this is “the truth” show us some evidence of wolves having “more money than every Chinese owner put together”, I’ll wait.

12.) 15 Oct 2017 22:23:41
If you read, I did not say all together and Bruce is no Mourinho, if you like boring football that's up to you.

13.) 16 Oct 2017 07:59:43
Go on then, prove the wolves owners are the richest out of all the Chinese owners. no one said anything about liking boring football, you seem to make these mad statements with nothing to back them up then when questioned follow it up with absolute drivel.

30 Sep 2017 18:54:04
Another 3 points, even though we made hard work of it . Then the day gets even better, with the Noses getting hammered . One of my bluenose mates, was trying to convince me last night, that it's all part of the plan . You hold them out first half, then bring the subs on and win it second half . Back to the drawing board I think, you have to give it them for optimism HaHa . Two weeks rest now and get ready for the Wolves . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

26 Sep 2017 22:52:52
Great win tonight, especially against a side who's, home form hasent been bad. Another sign of playing well, is four different goal scorers . that's what we need is everybody pitching in . Listening to the game, it sounded as if the defence played well, when needed. Weelen at least lasted the full 90mins, I can only go by the radio, but it sounded, as if his passing was a bit off at times . All together a great performance, keeps us moving in the right direction . Looking forwards to Sat and the visit of Bolton . can't wait for our man with his finger on the pulse, WTW to make his report . Perhaps he might say somthing possative about Brucie, but I won't hold my breath . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

1.) 27 Sep 2017 00:26:52
Oh the joy of a good wholesome 90 minutes! At last we have given out a good pasting to a team. We need the odd game like this to show promotion credentials! Happy with scrappy wins as well of course! Roll on Bolton and Wolves we're coming for you UTV.

2.) 27 Sep 2017 00:31:15
We live in hope Dave!

3.) 27 Sep 2017 07:20:16
Great win again away from villa park,
Played some very good football and defended well.
Nice to see all 4 goals with different goalscorers
All we need is kodija to get him scoring hopefully on Saturday
Well done villa and well done Bruce,
Give him credit which he deserves.

4.) 27 Sep 2017 08:31:38
My only regret is not seeing o'hare come on when we were 3-0 up.
Thor has been a big disappointment for me I expected more from him,
But can't moan about a great away win,
Keep it up lads,

24 Sep 2017 13:01:26
With the absence of the Jedi and Weelen looking as if his legs go after about an hour . Personly I'd give Lyden a shout on the bench, only chance the kid has had, was at RB . His natural position is defensive midfield, He likes to tackle, can pick out a pass and he has that Aussie never say die, about him . Surely he would be worth looking at, some young legs when Weelens have gone . Would be great, to eventually have a home grown midfield . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

1.) 24 Sep 2017 13:43:17
I too think that lyden could do a job in Whelan place,
Whelan can only do 45-60mins then his legs turn to jelly,

2.) 24 Sep 2017 13:46:35
Lyden played centre mid against Middlesbrough in the cup. Doyle-Hayes has over taken him in the pecking order and if Whelan can't make Tuesday we will probably see Lansbury and Hourihane together in the middle.

3.) 24 Sep 2017 18:14:07
Get Doyle-Hayes in for me. Looks the part in the game time I've seen him in. Lansbury isn't a holding midfielder come to think of it where can he play?

4.) 24 Sep 2017 20:06:45
Glen whelan has a 3 year deal at the club which amazes me consider his age what was Bruce thinking? If we do go up to the premier League we need a better manager most of his signing haven't worked out and let's be honest if you give the ball away like we do in the prem we will be thumped on a regular basis Bruce might get us up in the playoffs, but his record proves that he takes teams down his a championship manager at best. Bjarnsson whelen samba hogan bree and there's more his signing are crap. Only reason we will be up there is because of Kodjia.

5.) 24 Sep 2017 22:21:55
No ones talking about Bruce, Bjarnson, Samba, Hogan, Bree or Kodjia. Read the post if you haven't got anything intellectual to add then move on, don't comment trying to change the subject, beating a dead horse moaning about the only thing you ever do, ruining a good thread.

6.) 25 Sep 2017 09:11:30
Jesus WTW give it a rest .

With supporters like you who needs enemies! It pains me to say it but I prefer blue noses to the 💩 you speak.

7.) 25 Sep 2017 16:08:32
The ed had it spot on, w.t.f

Absolute space monkey. You have one drum. Keep beating it.
Just do us all a favour, and read what you post before you press reply. It’s tedious having to copy and paste into google translate every time.

8.) 25 Sep 2017 16:16:35
All everybody does is moan about the players he brought last week was bjarnson other week lansbury now Whelan what's that saying about the manager? Did he buy any good players? Facts are Villa are crap without Kodjia a Rdm signing. Last game against forrest it was Kodjia who put on a plate for adoma it was Kodjia who won the Free kick for the goal.

Without him it would of been another awful performance. I read the post clear people saying Whelans legs have gone. but that can't be true because Mr. Bruce wouldn't get another signing wrong would he? All people do is moan about players he brought nobody has the brain to think hang on there's a pattern here. let's see who they moan about next because if it weren't for adoma and kodjia who weren't his signings we would be screwed!

Lansbury flop, Hogan flop, bjarnson flop, Bree flop, whelan flop has any of his signings worked? Johnstone is on loan so that don't count he isn't here permanently. So yes I have read the post clear Whelan isn't up to it having spent good money on him now you are all scratching about for somebody else because yet another signing hasn't worked!

9.) 25 Sep 2017 16:32:03
I think before you start ranting and raving about certain players not reaching your standards, you should perhaps get your facts right!

Whelan is on a 2 year contract, not 3 as you've spouted off

It was 2 years with the thinking that 1st year to get out of the Championship and the 2nd year to ease the transition back into the Premiership

Please, refrain from using this forum to vent your anger at the world and people who want to use the site as it's name suggests, BANTER not character assassination as you seem too!

10.) 25 Sep 2017 18:03:27
Yawn yawn yawn.
Let me know when the baby is asleep, so us grown ups can talk.

11.) 25 Sep 2017 20:13:11
Hourihane deffinately a hit. Terry had a slow start but is getting there. Same for Taylor. I. believe Hogan has just been unlucky. And kodja may have made the difference on Sat but he is still very greedy. We may score a lot more if he looks up.

12.) 25 Sep 2017 21:25:18
Come on walkies, take a chill pill mate, maybe the players btucey had brought in need time to adjust, abd before you go off about hogan being there since last season remember he's been crook for a large part of that time fella, let's see where we are by christmas, i remember when graeme taylor first arrived, well let's say i remember some holt enders were doubting his sanity and his heritage! but the kid did good! so yeah, we're not brazil, but do you know what, as long as we get up, does it matter? we can worry about style when we're playing at the top table, play ugly more i say, that way teams know its not a cake walk playing us anymore, come on, BELIEVE IN STEVE!

13.) 26 Sep 2017 10:36:29

You have moaned about every single manager we have had since time begun .

You praise absolutely nobody besides Kodjia .

I think you are a blue nose, who comes here to create divide between real fans .

IMO you should save your money and cancel your season ticket as surely with the continual moaning you do you can't be getting any pleasure from supporting the villa.

23 Sep 2017 20:47:01
The way we played, first half I thought it was going to be 3-4 nil . Once Snodgrass and Weelens legs went, the pressure was off . Davis was great, holding the ball up, he was missed when he went off. Albert worked hard and deserved his goal Snodgrass can only get better, when he's fitter, he plays some good balls through . Over all not a bad first half, but made hard work of it second, deserved win though . Up to 10 TH with two winnable games up next . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

1.) 23 Sep 2017 21:57:45
My wife hardly watches football but came to the match today. She commented that Albert and Davis looked the best but what is wrong with number six he can't move! great result and made it to hard in the end and should have been out of sight by half time. Back to back wins, let's keep it going.

2.) 23 Sep 2017 22:30:58
NickB6 your good wife knows more about football than you thought, She's certainly got Weelen weighed up .

3.) 23 Sep 2017 23:09:23
Perhaps she can speak with SB on the Whelan matter because I always know what's good for me! Listen and agree lol!

4.) 24 Sep 2017 08:16:28
Very pleased with the result and adomah is really looking the business,
He worked his socks off and was rewarded with another goal,
My only gripe is again we are sitting to deep and our lack of fitness with some players,
But I'm not going to be to critical over back to back leaque wins,
And both games have been live on sky?
That's a change again we always lose on tv coverage,
Harder game on Tuesday for me Burton are a very high tempo team,
And whelan and Terry playing twice in 3 days is a worry,
But let's all get behind the lads and another win away from home would be fantastic,

5.) 24 Sep 2017 08:37:38
Whelan I agree, but terry is finding his feet now, and I have no concern re his fitness.

Is the Jedi not going to be available for Tuesday?

6.) 24 Sep 2017 09:50:18
Thought Terry was class at Barnsley but Whelan hasn't looked fit since returning from International Break. Thought surprisingly Chester looked a bit nervy yesterday but agree The Jedi force is needed Tues. One swallow doesn't make a summer but we have now had two so hopefully confident claet and blue summer skies are forming! With some recent posts we all need to get behind a team that still can get a bad case of head drop VTID.

7.) 24 Sep 2017 10:39:41
Funnily my wife said the same thing about Whelan. She said he kept giving the ball away. Other than that we played ok kodja still needs to look up he's a little greedy. I also felt onomah gave the ball away cheaply when he came on. I would have brought ohare on instead forests defence were tired then he would have ran the ragged.

W. t. w I bet the club doctor and tea lady, are shaking in their shoes . They are the only ones you haven't blamed yet . When your at your meetings, surly you are the one whose getting answers . I agree a lot of things are not right . we have all said, I think you included, that our squad is stronger now . We should have started improving, Brucie should be getting more out of them . Now we have the Jedi and Kodjia, perhaps we will see that improvement . As others keep saying, it's never positive what you write . I know we are Villa, but we are now in the championship . We will have a lot more disruption& change before we are back where we belong . We all feel frustrated, but at least most of us try to be positive . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

Black said he only wants people who want to play, from what I can see this the problem Okore does want to, but Numpty Black won't pick him . Black showed everybody today his understanding of what's happening . He says about toxic atmosphere, then continues to play the most hated players iv ever seen in all my time . How he could take Ayew of just beggars belief, Bacuna should of gone at half time . We have now been relegated, so now play some of the kids . Would be a compleatly different atmosphere, the kids would be cheered not booed . People who sit by us, where talking to Little before the game, he was saying takeover done and dusted, didn't say to who . Roll on new owner, new manager, new season . Villa forever . Also I'm up for a pint before one of the games next season.

Davis agent won't let him accept first offer, wouldent be doing his job properly if he did . Agents are a monody grabbing parf of football I hate, get paid lots of money, for having the gift of the gab . But the powers that be accept them, so we don't have a choice . They are in non league football and even buzzing round kids, making promesis . Agents and Sky, two worst things in football . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

WTW I have to agree, we have had some rubbish refs this season, but the one today was the worst iv seen . Bolton where like watching the old Stoke, but i think Bolton was even worse . With their style of pushing, holding and anything else they could get away with, we needed a strong ref and what we got was a joke . The standard of refereeing in this league is realy bad. The one a couple of games ago, didn't even know what to do with a dropped ball . didn't see the sending off clearly, but I think it was one of that refs standard cockups .
