Did anybody hear anything, about the behind closed doors game?

1.) 18 Nov 2018 10:59:21
Yeh you can't get in Dave.

2.) 18 Nov 2018 16:09:48
Dave, it’s just that, Deano made a few comments, after the other one . But I haven’t see anything this time .

3.) 20 Nov 2018 15:24:53
Nothing to say!

How did Smith play Hogan at Brentford? Hogan isn't your typical, player up front on his own . He needs to play in a two, needs to feed off somebody . If he was played on his own, he would need to hold the ball up and I don't think he's that type of player . Still that's for Smith to sort out .
Onwards and Upwards, Villaforever.

He was played in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with someone like Romaine Sawyers in support of him.
It was stated that he would be used as the main man and it was the theory that he was a chances to goals player, the example being, give him chances and he will score.
Josh McEachran and Ryan Woods were always looking to play him in through the middle, and it worked well for them.
Hogan is an 18yd box player and needs feeding with through ball`s, he can create his own chances but if he does not get the ball he can drift out of games so must be kept involved.
Similar players were, A Cole, and R Fowler.
If we keep him we must play to his strengths, and that means getting the ball in the box as soon and as often as possible and support him as a team.
I am not sure we can do that with the players we have.

2.) 27 Oct 2018 13:17:55
Glad it was of some help to you 82.?

3.) 27 Oct 2018 14:47:02
Cheers Dave.

Axel was immense tonight, good job because Chester's head didn't seem with it . Same as last game, we are not yet fit enough, to play high tempo . Albert and Tammy going off at the same time didn't help . Norwich are a good side and are playing the way we want to . the second half they showed us how it's done . Jack other than running across the line drawing fouls, wasn't very influential. I may be wrong but he seems a bit frustrated and lost for ideas . Perhaps somebody like Lansbury, should at least, be looked at, if we could get him anywhere near like he was at Forest, he could play his part .

Like I was saying before, we have to get fitter, we don't seem anywhere near, as fit as last season . To play like Dean wants, that fitness is a priority.
On to QPR Friday, another hard game . Never rated McClaren, but he's certainly got them playing again .
Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

1.) 24 Oct 2018 10:48:08
Agreed. I think that every Aston Villa-player should get the chance to play. I rate Lansbury, he can do well for us.

At last, a management team with an affinity to the club . One ex captain and the other lifelong supporter. All we need now is a system, that the players can all buy into . A system that they all understand and that can start driving us forwards again . Just a shame JT, gave up his players registration, we could do with him playing .
At least all the speculation, is over &done with and we know where we stand . Personly I believe, it's a management team with great potential.
So all that's left is for us to show our support and get behind them .
Onwards and Upwards Villaforever.

1.) 11 Oct 2018 07:36:19
Absolutely, get behind the manager and players. Let’s hope he can get the best out of Hogan, he deserves a chance.

2.) 12 Oct 2018 14:21:54
hoping the swansea match is a sell out, let's get the place bouncing.

07 Oct 2018 21:27:36
How about JT, saying he's officially retired from playing. If it's right about JT and Henry, how will that affect us?

All the posts off the players, keep telling us, how happy they are . They keep telling us, that the dressing room, is spot on . that's certainly what we want to hear .
The camaraderie and togetherness, comes from, the dressing room being happy .
The main thing you want of players, is believe . in what the manager is putting before them . From whar we have seen, this is happening . In Deano we trust .
Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

1.) 17 Nov 2018 12:43:09
Davedean, I think you are spot on mate, if a player cannot warm to a man like Deano with his passion and eagerness to succeed, then he should have no place at VP.
I understand that not everyone will have the same aspirations as the manager, but I am sure he will see this in people and leave well alone, I think firstly he wants to see hard work and loyalty in his players and use those traits as a platform to build a football team we will all be proud of.

11 Nov 2018 17:31:54
I think Lmpard deserves acknowledgment, for a very honest interview. You don't get many prepared, to be that honest . Maybe it's to do with his friendship with JT .! but he still didn't have to do it . Very refreshing, not a lot in football anymore .
Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

1.) 12 Nov 2018 09:00:32
I thought that as well about lampard
Spoke about the game much like Smith,
Both honest men who deserve to do well as manager's,

2.) 12 Nov 2018 13:39:13
Bob at least I know it wasn’t you who disagreed.

10 Nov 2018 17:12:20
Fantastic win .
To go to a side like Derby, who's form has been good and play them off the park, is brilliant. Even when we haven't been winning, we have created lots of chances . At last they have started going in .
Deano has started to, sprinkle his magic and get his ideas over, to the team .
Just a shame it's another break, before we meet the Noses .

Axel gets better and better, with every game . his pace and the ground he cover is amazing. Also he's helping Chester recover some of his confidence . That was Chester's best game for ages, him and Axel could make a great pairing. The overhead kick for the clearance of the line, was unbelievable. The pass for Jacks goal, is exactly, the sort of pass, Hogans been crying out for . Hogan makes those runs in behind and nobody ever plays him in . From what we have seen, I think this is what Deano wants them to look for . We have got to start being a bit more creative with our passing . But also we need to be more creative, with our movement . That appears to be one of the main things Iv noticed, in the last couple of games, not so many people standing about .
Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

1.) 04 Nov 2018 12:54:33
That is one of the most annoying things about this Villa team Davedean.
The passing and awareness is shocking, and I noticed the amount of times someone passes the ball only to receive it back again, and when our defenders are doing this I have to hold my breath.
We either over hit the pass or the pass is not strong enough and we lose the ball, to be fair I really felt that Bolton were far more direct than us, they passed the ball quicker and were unlucky not to get something from the game.
When Hogan came on I made a point of watching him, and apart from a Hutton pass he got no service at all, he ran into areas and worked very hard off the ball, this guy is pretty quick and the players in the side need to realise this and play ball with him.
I honestly think Hogan would score 20 plus goals a season in a front two playing to his strengths.
I am not complaining, we are playing better football no question, and I am looking forward to some new additions in January.

2.) 04 Nov 2018 13:57:26
Hogan movement is very good
Shame the other players not on same wavelength.
He would score more goals than Abrahams in my opinion with better service.
But as you said we are playing better now it's just the defence that worries me
See James bree has scored 2 headed goals for the under 23s at this time.
I would play him in our back 4,

Nice to read that Deano, having a look at some of the U23s. Had Mich Clarke watched and Ohare was mentioned . let's hope he sees something he likes, could save us a few bob . Not saying stick them in, but it's about time for some to be intergrated Somebody like OHare, would add energy and cerainly ability . When Iv seen him play, he always wants the ball and finds the space .

Nice to see were off the Mark, first one in . Mainbob from what they say, he's comfortable playing in a range of positions . Somebody like this could be realy useful over the rest of the season . He should certainly ad some power and energy where ever he plays . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

If Villa had 3-4 England players, it might be different, two would do .
