Probably one of the worst pieces of "journalism" I've ever seen on the BM and that says a lot.

" According to TyC journalist Gaston Edul, Inter have seen a €15 million (£12.9m) offer rejected by Villa. However, the Champions League finalists are said to be preparing a 'higher proposal' in order to try to convince Villa to sell this summer, although it's likely to take a lot more than the €15 million mentioned in order for Unai Emery and Co to even consider cashing in."

I think they left out a zero on the figure?
With the players we bought and are trying to bring in I really can’t see him leaving this year I think he will want to see where we go this year.

When you think about the current midfield 3 of JM, DL and YT and what we paid for them all.

We've managed to assemble one of the best midfields in the league for about 18m!
In this day in football, that's an absolute bargain.

And bouba aswell free transfer neb aswell, fair play to steve bruce getting mcggin, and deano aswell getting dougie, even gerreard aswell getting us bouba .not like we are going to sell them but in todays market how much are jm, dl, and bouba worth i'd say dougie 80/90 mill bouba 60/70 and mcggin 60 mil

2.) 23 Nov 2023 13:24:05
Yeah absolutely, great shout with Kamara too who I totally forgot was a free! That’s 4 top midfields for less than £20m and all of should fetch double that if ever sold!
Some of our recruitment since we came back up hsnt worked out for the best, but some of it has been magical!

Agree mate we don't rush when we sign players now we have plan which is good where b4 there wasnt

So what does everyone think about Zaniola?

Am I only one who can't help but doubt his version of events and find it hard to share his optimism?

Obviously I'd love if there's no problem and it all just gets quashed on Friday or whenever they've spoken with him.
But the logical part of me can't help remembering that two of the others have already admitted their part and one already punished. and the other awaiting punishment.
I just have a serious concern that the investigations have been pretty thorough and there's something he's either "forgotten" about or is deliberately hiding. especially as I had read there were incriminating recordings of him.

Thought there may already be a conversation about it on here.

Neb, no smoke without fire, just remember he has been incriminated by one of his own. Personally if he is innocent I hope he is able to clear his name. Based on his performances so far, I would be very surprised if his loan is extended irrespective of the outcome of the inquiry.

2.) 25 Oct 2023 22:49:19
He used an app or site to play poker that is apparently illegal in Italy. If he had any involvement in football betting his agent and the club would have told him to come forward immediately. I'm sure he's intelligent enough to know that a 3 year ban for hiding it would ruin his career.
Performance wise he has been one of our better players, the goals and assists will come.
I personally think he's the missing piece of the puzzle. He has more pace and physicality than Buendia whilst having more technical ability and cleverness than Ramsey. A bit more time to gel with his teammates and I think he will start to shine.

3.) 25 Oct 2023 23:27:25
Not really sure how relevant our take on the situation is when nobody really has a clue what's gone on. How accurate his version of events is will also be largely meaningless when the facts are assessed by prosecutors. Only time will tell and hopefully we'll find out soon enough.
Until then, he remains a part of a team performing well and should have our backing.

4.) 26 Oct 2023 09:16:25
I agree with RK. If he is hiding something he is taking a huge risk. Most likely he has messages on a phone about the same time as messages from Tonali, and speculative conclusions have been drawn without real evidence. On performance, he needs a goal or assist. He's trying too hard at the moment.

5.) 26 Oct 2023 12:35:13
As a player I like him and agree that it seems like he’s trying a bit too hard at the moment, but has had glimpses of looking a top player, he’s already contributed more than Coutinho who he essentially replaced anyway.

I do however have some worries about him getting a lengthy ban. After seeing Tonali has this morning been banned and all of them being named at the same time. I would assume the evidence was aa compelling for each of those accused before they were named.
However DBS is right, until something is said officially. It’s just speculation

6.) 26 Oct 2023 20:09:42
I still want to know what's going on with Pacqueta. The evidence against him is there for all to see and yet that seems to have disappeared without so much as a conversation with him.

Just a simple reminder of the times we've played well, won already this season and this has been dismissed as "it's just one game" "long way to go" "don't get carried away"

So is today, but you'll still see this page erupt with negativity from the same people who play down any positivity- regardless

Considering the potential of Zaniolo and the fact that if he stays fit, it's a good piece of business for us to buy him and if he doesn't and spends half the injury out then it seems we aren't obliged to.
I thought there be a bit more buzz about him finally signing.

Anyway if we only sign ONE more player before close, which sadly I think is likely.

Where do you think that should be? Not necessarily who but feel free to add (no fm22 suggestions though please) but more importantly what position?

For me although the mings injury has put us week at the back and I think we need decent competition for cash. I actually worry most about Ollie getting injured.
I know Duran hasn't had a proper go yet, but there's no way I can see him leading out line anytime soon.
So my priority would be another forward player, if they play in a inside forward instead of a out and out even better as that will provide the extra cover for if Zaniolo has a reoccurring injury or Bailey doesn't improve fairly soon.

I’ve said on here before that I can see Zaniolo being a Dugary at the Nose kind of signing, a wild card that could go either way, a Berbatov kind of signing. Personally I think he’ll be awesome this season, but only because he’s in the shop window for Juve where he really wants to be, if he has that kind of season and we crack the top 4 or win a trophy, that’s the loan fee well spent imo, or he might be like Carew and realise that being adored by his teams fans makes for a happy life and career? To address our gaps in the squad, a compromise is make is try and get Jason Justin at right back (who also plays left back btw) and Ineacho as a striker who I think could play in a 2 up front and is a good solid player who could only get better under Emery. Offer them Archer as part of the deal maybe ??‍♂️

2.) 20 Aug 2023 08:47:52
I agree Neb, for me it has to be a forward particularly if the rumours about us selling Archer are true. In terms of forwards I have always been in favour of us signing someone like Patrick Schick whose record at club and international level is good. If not then at the risk of being controversial I might try to sign Toney. Obviously he can’t play until January but I think if you leave it until then you will have a lot more competition for his signature from the likes of Spurs.Brentford might not sell but offer something like £70 million would certainly test there resolve, he would certainly take us to the next level in my opinion.

3.) 20 Aug 2023 16:25:44
I think we now need another attacking midfielder now with couthinho injured and zaniolo injury history, I can see archer being sold at this point and I think Emery will bring in another striker, Acuna looks like a deal that will happen and I still think we need a RB even if it’s only got cover for cash and not an out and out replacement. all in all I think we need 4 players if digne is on the way out. will it happen I think probably not but that’s my 2 pence worth.

Would anyone take a punt on Jiminez from the dingles? Supposedly can go for 5m?
Looked really tidy before he got injured and that's a bargain in todays game for a prem experienced striker.

Can’t see Dougie going anywhere tbh. The kinda money we will want for him Arsenal won’t pay, they already spent £100m on a midfielder in summer, we will expect a figure of £70+

DC is right footed isn’t he? He played as both lcm and rcm for Seville. I thought when we signed him he was essentially supposed to play next to Mings?

If there’s a realistic chance I’d get him tbh. I don’t like dumping managers but I never wanted nor rated SG and Poch is another level entirely even if I did.

Absolutely no point selling him for 10m.
Who are you replacing him with that kinda money? Bare in mind we apparently was £8m for Davies…?!
Not to mention the significant loss on what we paid for him. That would be a really terrible piece of business.

Agree he’d be a great signing, always rated him back and often sign him on FM - back into the Tottenham days!

Think we were very lucky with the penalty! And not a great all around performance by any means, but then again that's what all the teams at the top do!
They win even when they don't necessarily deserve to.

Does anyone know how far Buendia is from being fit? Definitely need at least another 2 more I reckon, maybe 3 if EB isn't anywhere near a return (and and also replacing anyone who leaves the first team) especially if we are taking a title bid seriously.

An attacking player who can both create AND score and ideally a RB who suits the high line system that we play.
I wouldn't sell Cash to make this happen though, i'd rather keep and just move him further forward!

It’s not just that we won again, it’s that I believed we could even before a ball was kicked. I can’t remember ever feeling like this about Villa before. It’s not some huge level of expectation or anything but more that I have belief in them and what they can do.
