Just read that Spuds are trying to hijack our 'deal' for McKennie, buy him outright, so Juve will have an extra €15M they can give us then instead of him, sounds like if Carlsberg did transfer deals, then we're the winner here ??‍♂️

The would be perfect as I don't like mackennies mindset

2.) 19 Jun 2024 22:35:12
Been doing a few searches and it’s looking like Juve are going to include (gonna call him for short) Enzo an Argentinian DM instead of McKennie, personal terms already agreed. He looks decent on TonevTube, played 36 games on loan last year, 10 yellow cards though, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing imo ??‍♂️

UTV

3.) 19 Jun 2024 23:39:40
Love the carlsberg comment 72, I have to agree I don’t like makennie whatsoever, sounds like a greedy fit aswel I think we are way better off without him

My nephew txt me yesterday, reckons he's heard somewhere that Emery to L'pool in the summer is a done deal, and wants to take Dougie and Bailey with him too? Can't see any legs in it myself?

UTV

Allstar72

1.) 03 Apr 2024 10:04:23
Can’t see this happening Allstar, Emery already has experience of taking a job where his predecessor had legendary status at Arsenal, that turned out badly for him and he had to go away and rebuild his reputation so I can’t see him falling into that trap again. I think we are more at risk losing him to a club like Bayern who are having a bit of a rough time and are looking to replace Tuchel.

2.) 17 Apr 2024 22:59:01
Ruben Almerion will get the Job

03 Jan 2024 16:48:05
If we're after Ngonge, that's another left footed attacking player, unless he's 1 for the future or too good a bargain to turn dow, what's the point of signing him, we need a No9. Also, I'd keep an eye on the Couffal situation at West Ham, if Emery is big on his full backs being more defensive minded, there's not many better than him in the Prem, a cheeky £5M bid for someone who's stalling on signing a new contract might get it done ??‍♂️

UTV

Allstar72

1.) 04 Jan 2024 02:09:51
Ngonge plays as an attacking midfielder or a striker, making him a lot more versatile to Emery's needs, good for rotation and cover for injury and suspension in various roles. An exciting and useful player at a very decent price.

2.) 05 Jan 2024 00:16:14
Not sure how this one is going, it seems to be common knowledge that the club have accepted our offer, but their is conflicting reports on whether the player wants the move or not, with some saying he wants Villa and some suggesting he wants a move to Fiorentina, looks like we will have to wait and see where this one goes.

20 Jul 2023 05:22:36
Remember a few weeks ago I said there could be a surprise exit or 2. rumours going round that L'pool are after Kamara, they're going to have £52M burning a hole in their pocket soon, I'd take that, he's replaceable at that kind of money, Kooperminer (spell check lol) the younger Thuram brother, and I'm sure there's a Spanish defensive mid Unai would have his eye on ??‍♂️

UTV

Allstar72

1.) 20 Jul 2023 06:20:20
I wouldn’t sell him full stop, we are looking to build a squad to try to win things, why would you sell one of the most accomplished defensive midfielders in the premiership to a rival? Anyway even if I were to consider a sale if Palace are looking for £70 million for Cheik Doucoure then I would certainly want more than that, Kamara is a much better player in my opinion.

2.) 20 Jul 2023 06:50:25
I agree on the price aspect and I wouldn’t want to sell him but as it’s a rumours site where you post about rumours ??‍♂️ Try it another way, get a big fee for him, replace him with Koopa bloke, might get a defensive mid that isn’t injured half the season and his stats show that you might get 10+ goals out of him, Kamara had 1 assist last year, just saying ??‍♂️

UTV

3.) 20 Jul 2023 07:03:54
I get the rumours bit Allstar that’s fine, I like Koopmeiners as well but I would rather we keep Kamara and buy Koopmeiners to add to the squad rather than sacrifice one to get the other. It has taken us an inordinate amount of time to start attracting quality players I want to keep as many as we can for as long as we can and keep adding to them.

4.) 20 Jul 2023 08:28:47
And bouba job is to break play up win tackles not score goals, if we sold him its complete maddness no villa fan would want too sell him he's one of our stars and he's only 22 all players get injured A72 can't be helped, and like lord said we are trying to build a squad to win cups and challenge top6 if anything koopermans would be a good signing to add to the squad

5.) 20 Jul 2023 09:21:37
I agree with both of you, just saying ??‍♂️

UTV

6.) 20 Jul 2023 09:33:05
I see both sides of this one, keep him and our squad is building nicely or sell for 70 million and make huge profit on a player we got for free, he has had his injury problems since arriving and after all we did manage pretty well without him, it’s win win whatever happens imo, if he is to be sold though we need to squeeze every penny we can get out of them

27 Jun 2024 10:04:17
Was musing over this the other day and it seems there's a little fuel for my fire. looking at how we seem to be going forwards, I can't see a place for Diaby in our team, he didn't have a great 1st season but some will point out that Bailey didn't either, he cost a lot of money to not be a starter for me, just read that the Saudis are looking at him, if he was to go I'd guess we'd pretty much get our money back, that's a great chunk of cash to strengthen where we actually need it ??‍♂️

UTV

Allstar72

1.) 27 Jun 2024 12:40:28
I think it's something like 15 goals/assists in his first season so for me it's too early to just be happy to get our money back. Completely appreciate that stats are only part of the assessment and that there have been games where he's gone missing, but you could say that about most players to a degree and I think we shoukd see how he gets on in his second season before making a true judgement.unless of course something silly like £90m plus comes in.
Next season is going to be really tough and we're going to see quite a squad overhaul as it is, so for me, I'd say keeping him makes more sense.

2.) 27 Jun 2024 13:09:27
I’m looking at it a different way… £50M+ for Diaby would buy (for example) Dumfries and David and maybe have some change, and would strengthen us no end in the areas we need it the most, and maybe free up some money for that ‘marquee’ creative midfielder like Gonclaves that most on here seem to want ??‍♂️

UTV

3.) 27 Jun 2024 15:25:00
Nothing wrong with that suggestion as it's all subjective, but what we don't know is how well those players would settle or if we need to sell a senior player to make those transfers happen in the first place. Like I said, I think Diaby needs a second season and could by flying after a very respectful first season in the prem, but we'll never know if we get rid so soon. Either way, sounds as though Emery and team are making plenty of moves to strengthen, so let's just sit back and see what happens.

4.) 27 Jun 2024 15:36:23
Fair play DBS ??

UTV

5.) 27 Jun 2024 15:55:25
We shouldn't even consider selling diaby he had a decent 1st season, remember bailey took time to settle unless we got 80mil for him i wouldn't sell he cost 45mil anyway

6.) 27 Jun 2024 17:24:06
My question to you all is would you start him ahead of Bailey? Rogers even? Iling Jr is a left footed winger too, looks like Ramsey’s staying, just bought the kid from Everton too, which makes me think maybe there IS a bid coming for Diaby, especially with us signing Iling Jr because it looks like Maatsen is going to be 1st choice left back and there was talk of Iling Jr playing there, we have a wealth of similar players who will take up 1 spot in the team, maybe 2 ??‍♂️

UTV

7.) 27 Jun 2024 18:04:18
I don’t understand this argument about Diaby staying where people say look at Bailey after he settled. What actually guarantees that the same will happen again, he could underperform again (forget this goals assists thing as I watch football with my eyes and he’s been poor) then his value plummets and we have a winger that is highly ineffective when he has no space to run in behind, has a woeful first touch, doesn’t beat a man.

8.) 27 Jun 2024 19:27:16
I’ll go back to something I said before, money raised from selling Diaby could pay for Jonathan David at half the price he woulda been a year ago, and we’re going to need a striker because I can’t see Duran being arsed with us now he’s had his head turned by Chelsea which is going to do wonders for his already questionable attitude, and Dumfries who is pretty much the best right wing back in the world right now, or we could have £50M sitting on the bench hoping he’s going to come good maybe, when for example Roger’s hit the ground running ??‍♂️

UTV

9.) 27 Jun 2024 19:27:54
I can't speak for anyone else, but don't think Bailey is specifically relevant, just a useful working example of showing a bit of patience and backing up the point that having a premier league season under the belt and that bit of experience can do wonders for a player.
It's all subjective and depends on your perspective, but you could just as easily ask the question what guarantee do we have that any of the rather inexperienced replacements listed so far will be any better?
Personally, I see a player with potential, but we'll never know if we sell him after one season. You raise a fair question about squad size though, so maybe they will cash in, who knows?

10.) 27 Jun 2024 19:41:43
The only way I’d sell him is if we get a good bid with a nice profit, or if it was to make way for goncalves. goncalves is pretty much the one player I want signed. we need depth aswel not just in numbers but also in quality

11.) 27 Jun 2024 20:05:26
Given the number of games we hope to be playing next season I don’t see why we would even consider letting Diaby go. I don’t think we need to sell him to raise funds to buy the likes of Dumfries and David, the funds we can obtain from selling the likes of Carlos, Digne, Duran and maybe even Buendia would be more than enough for that. You can’t have too many quality players and despite an indifferent first season he is a quality operator

12.) 27 Jun 2024 20:55:35
I’m glad my post has started a good honest debate, 1 thing for sure is if Emery gets who he wants, we’re going to probably have the best squad of players that most of us will ever see, more so than in the O’Neill period before he bottled it, when we had Laursen, Carew, Milner, Barry etc

UTV

13.) 28 Jun 2024 01:29:09
Squad now beats that A72, do a player for player unai side comes on top .
Gk martinez
Lb bouma, cbs laursen, torres, rb konsa, mids
Barry, bouba, mcgginn
Forward
Young, watkins, bailey
That would be my team of both

14.) 28 Jun 2024 03:56:20
Wash your mouth out Jonny! No Mellberg? Call it blasphemy if you want but Mellberg is imo the GOAT centre half we’ve had (in my lifetime) I might have to say 10 Hail Mary’s and have a pint of Guinness after that statement though lol ?? ??

UTV

15.) 28 Jun 2024 07:37:09
GOAT centre back in my lifetime McGrath no one else comes even close.

16.) 28 Jun 2024 11:20:47
I would of put mellberg A72 i thought we sold him to juve when oneil got villa job?
Best 3 cbs I've seen in villa shirt
Paul mcgrath, sir olaf, martin laursen
Big ugo gets big shout aswell

17.) 28 Jun 2024 19:11:25
They were warriors Jonny, shame Laursens career got cut short because he was immense for us. Always had Ugg for 1st goal scorer, don’t remember winning once off him though. I used to work with a guy who was in and around Villa Park, at one time it was his ‘job’ to make sure Macca got to VP in time for kick off, reckoned there were a few touch and go moments with that lol ?

Going through all the latest rumours/deals 'nearly done' etc. if these come off, got to be pleased with our business.

Illing Jr LB/WB/LW
Enzo DM
Maatsen LB
Dumfries RB/WB
Dobbins LW
Barkley MID
David ST

That's assuming Digne, Moreno, Cash, Luiz, Duran, Tim leave, as well as Chambers Dendoncker, not forgetting our Jan buys and players back from long term injuries, only thing I think we're lacking is backup to Emi ??‍♂️

UTV

Allstar72

1.) 21 Jun 2024 19:49:22
If these come off then the squad is in better shape than last season and we will be pushing for top4 again mate

2.) 21 Jun 2024 21:13:53
As well as a back up keeper we need to add a creative midfielder. I also think given the rumours around Hermoso and Todibo Emery wants another centre back particularly if Carlos leaves.

3.) 22 Jun 2024 07:15:07
From what I’ve heard Mings, Carlos loves it at Villa, mainly because of how we stuck by him through his injury

UTV

4.) 22 Jun 2024 10:34:46
I wouldn't sell mings wasnt his biggest fan but since unai come mings has been immense with him at cb last season we wouldn't bad at setpiece defending aswell, il be shocked if he's sold but carlos i'd sell while me might get a good fee for

19 Jun 2024 17:10:15
You've got to laugh at some of the stories being pushed, we're supposed to be after Maatsen at left back even though Illing Junior is part of a more advanced negotiation as a left back who wanted assurances about game time before joining ??‍♂️

UTV

Allstar72

1.) 19 Jun 2024 18:52:23
We have allegedly agreed the fee with Chelsea, so I presume one of Digne or Moreno is off, or maybe even both!

2.) 19 Jun 2024 19:04:20
Just seen that aswell

3.) 19 Jun 2024 19:28:55
Almost guaranteed one of them will leave, possible that Emery sees Iling Junior as competition for the attacking spots rather than full back?

4.) 19 Jun 2024 20:26:47
Apparently moreno homesick rumours going around

5.) 19 Jun 2024 20:45:16
@Jonny, I get that feeling when I drive north of Spaghetti ?

UTV

6.) 19 Jun 2024 23:29:56
I’d imagine illing is coming in as a winger with defensive qualities. I can see him on the left side with rogers coming into the center possibility taking over luiz role, he showed real quality this last few months he settled in really well.
Looks like maatsen deal is ready to complete.
At least it’s not all doom and gloom about having to sell players, both luiz and Duran are pushing to leave if you believe the press so it’s better that they go if that’s true, they are both sulky players imo so the last thing we need is them upsetting the dressing room, onwards and upwards, UTV

I don’t know the ins and outs of it all, but assuming us or any of them other clubs don’t make the FFP threshold and get docked points, wouldn’t there be a legal route to getting the points deduction quashed/suspended till Citeh cop for their 100+ breaches of the financial rules, or that Citeh’s case is resolved 1st before they go after other clubs, their charges go back close to 10 years ??‍♂️

What I’m not getting with this talk of we need wingers/not No9 forwards is by my count, we have 6 or 7, for at the most 2 spots in the team. Going on the talk of Philonge being worth £100M (or £84M) I’m going to guess that he’s Diaby’s replacement? For clarity, those 6 or 7 are Bailey, Illing Jr, Dobbin, Philonge, Ramsey, Buendia and Morgan.

It’s a huge gamble, I see it as a Junhino/Merson signing, a statement. I honestly don’t know much or have seen much of Felix, he had a good World Cup but a bit part player at the Euros. He (from what I’ve read) can play all across the front line so could class him as a back up to Ollie should he get injured, in the same way I think Roger’s could (not forgetting Archer too) If he has a more than decent season then that should tie in with us being successful, if we get him at £50M or less then he’d be worth more should he want to move on so a win win there. He might end up loving it at Villa and become a legend. These are all mights and ifs but couldn’t you say that about any signing any team makes. If we’ve got £50M+ burning a hole in our pockets personally I’d like to buy Jonathan David as another quality No9 (who can also play across the front 3) who will push Ollie not just be a back up, or something completely different (I’m just pulling a name out the sky, not saying we should buy him) like a Chris Wood, someone who can rough up defenders, we can’t just rely on scoring ‘sexy’ goals. But going back to the beginning of this post, if Félix gives us something of what Merson did when he joined, would be a gamble worth taking ??‍♂️
