I personally don't want a player who doesn't want to play for us in our squad, but I still feel like he really could've been a great player. I was watching a reel of his best moments for Villa which was obviously limited to a small part of the season, but on some occasions he ripped that field up. Anyway it's the best for team unity.

I'm going for remy. Bigger question is who does he replace in our attack, he's technically better than gustede but doesn't have the same physical presence. He's better in possession than ayew (less greedy, knows the game better) but ayew plays a more wide right. Can't see grealish or McCormack being dropped so would be interesting to see where this new striker fits in.

Ayew so far has been far too selfish and has held the team back imo, gets to good positions but never passes, picks wrong options, runs into bodies and loses the ball.

In my opinion, Ayew must leave Villa, he hasn't offered anything for us so far. I believe Hernandez will be the far better replacement. I agree that we should sign a winger too, and Robson-Kanu fits the bill perfectly. He is on a free at the moment, did well for Wales this summer and is a natural winger first and foremost.

Ballotelli should be coming into his prime now, and got something to prove, not entirely PC, but I want our No9 banging goals in and banging his way through the female cast of TOWIE, not helping old ladies across the road or kissing babies at Xmas, he's as much as a risk as Morrison and it seems like people on here are warming to the idea of him so why not why always me? We certainly need striker cover but these two really are too high risk! VP would give us class for say 2 or 3 games and out injured for the rest with little cover. Not doubting that you're correct with your info kingvilla but a question for you and all the other villa fans, who would you prefer to see coming in? Jedinak or diawara? Both have their pros and cons.

For me I'd prefer jedinak this year, an older more experienced head in centre mid seems right for the championship IMO.

Diawara, who I know very little about to be honest, seems like he could be a great signing but could he see us as just a stepping stone to bigger things in England? Granted we would probably make a nice chunk of change from him but that's not what we should be doing if dr t is really looking to build the club again. Is the young man the leader we need in cm?

If priority is promotion then jedniak is the player we need right now I think. Of course I will support the young fella too and hope I haven't stereotyped him as your average footballer mentality.

OK, here come some relevant but complete-anorak statistics. Hernandez’s strike rate is around 37% - almost exactly the same as Gary Shaw’s. McCormacks strike rate is around 43%, almost exactly the same as Peter Withe’s. Ayew's, on the other hand, is only 25%. So a Hernandez/ McCormack strike-force in theory has legendary Villa potential.
