Villa launch double loan swoop for Leicester's Ulloa and Amartey.
Everyone knows about Ulloa and anyone who watches us play I think can see he'd be brilliant in our team. Didn't know much about Amartey but judging from Leicester fans opinion he sounds like Jedinak with legs, although they say he's not excellent on the ball. Would be ideal to be fair, get Whelan as far away from the team as possible, rotate Jedinak and Amartey to keep everything fresh. Hope this comes off.

1.) 10 Jan 2018 19:39:03
I live as you know in Leicester, and most my friends/ family are crisp fans.
They say the Ulloa deal has been sorted for a long time, since the summer, a loan that becomes permanent if we go up.
They also say that amarty is siht, and would pay us to take him. I’ve never seen the lad. however. they also say this is happening!

2.) 10 Jan 2018 20:01:10
Fingers crossed then, from what’s on twitter amartey has been played out of position a lot so has had a few stinkers. Hope the Ulloa deal comes off ASAP.

{Ed001's Note - Leicester usually play Amartey at right back but he is really a central midfielder.}

3.) 10 Jan 2018 20:10:47
Like I said, I don’t know much of him. Just repeating what’s been said.
Rb is the last position we need a player for anyway!

We could do with another inforcer in the middle.

Anyways. thanks Ed001, Wasn’t expecting you to answer one of my posts till about March April time. that’s when you normally resurface! 😏🤫.

{Ed001's Note - I only go for about 3 days though Flacks, it just feels like longer for you as you miss me so much.}

4.) 10 Jan 2018 20:33:30
Jesus, that’s true. normally feels like 40 days, and 40 nights.

{Ed001's Note - funnily enough I was out wandering in the desert earlier.}

5.) 10 Jan 2018 20:46:18
Just laughed out loud! Lol

Did you happen to have a conversation with a fairly hot bush?!

{Ed001's Note - she wasn't bad at all, but how did you know her name was Bush?}

6.) 10 Jan 2018 21:13:27
I read her diary, was on a couple of stone tablets!

{Ed001's Note - stone tablets? I wouldn't want to swallow a couple of those next time I have a headache!}

7.) 10 Jan 2018 21:16:23
This thread is giving me a headache!

{Ed001's Note - you sound like my missus now.}

8.) 10 Jan 2018 21:38:57

{Ed001's Note - not really, it is more of a Brazilian she has.}

9.) 10 Jan 2018 21:58:49
That’s twice you’ve made me laugh out loud! Lol.

10.) 11 Jan 2018 12:45:37
Dont know bout you laughing out loud flacks the banter between you and edoo1 nearly had me pissing my pants mate. Lol.

{Ed001's Note - glad to hear it mate.}

The s*n reporting Brighton want to push through a 3mil move for Davis. Has to be rubbish, however if we got a big of 8mil+ I'd take it if it meant we could go and buy someone to replace him.

1.) 10 Jan 2018 09:21:16
How about a deal?
Murray + £5m for Davis?
Murray scores on a regular basis, Davis holds the ball up.
Currently we need goals.
Davis is still raw but we need a finisher.

2.) 10 Jan 2018 14:13:25
Do you trust Bruce to bring in a good striker to replace Davis if he was sold?
Davis going nowhere in my opinion.

30 Dec 2017 16:58:42
Pulis, What's the score, Pulis Pulis what's the score?!?! Hahaha. Mainbob if O'hare is half as good as Murphy then I can see why you rave about him so much😉 excellent performance away from home. was too cautious going forward in the first half but second we took more chances in the passing and the movement and deserved our win IMO.

Just need to move the ball faster, look to pop it into players quicker rather than always looking for the ball out wide. It's weird what happens when you take out the player who always has a mistake in him, play one of our best players from last year in his right position and actually play a centre back at centre back!

1.) 30 Dec 2017 17:11:12
Chris I said 5 young players who needed games and Murphy was one of them,
Plus grealish the big difference again,
Bruce must stay with this youth on the bench,
Murphy did well when he came on the only downside to him he keeps getting these injuries,
Nice to see Hayes on the bench as well,
Great performance defended very well.

2.) 30 Dec 2017 17:23:56
See elfick man of match with most pundits,
He was the best player with grealish against brentford, as well.
Fair play to him.

3.) 30 Dec 2017 18:39:54
Bruce didn’t do himself any favours, if Whelan didn’t get ill then Jedinak was starting at CB and Elphic on the bench, players at the end showed its means just as much to them as us. Murphy looked really tidy, Control, holding it up everything he did well.

13 Dec 2017 19:06:30
Ollie McBurnie has just announced he's joining Villa, other than he's a youth player for Swansea, anyone got a clue about him?

1.) 13 Dec 2017 20:06:56
Scored 8 goals his whole career, 5 in non league and 3 in league 2, doesn’t sound promising.

2.) 14 Dec 2017 07:20:07
Chris, is there a link to where he says he's joining Villa?

3.) 14 Dec 2017 12:48:33
Someone wrote to him on his Instagram “join the villa”, he replied “I am”. Pictures are everywhere, started following half the team last night on twitter as well.

4.) 14 Dec 2017 16:55:19
Is this the best striker Bruce can find?
God help us all if these rummors are true.

5.) 15 Dec 2017 08:38:40
It's called cover.

6.) 15 Dec 2017 08:44:53
MainBob I don't think we should knock him until we have seen him. As fans this is sometimes our problem I believe we should give the lad a chance.

7.) 15 Dec 2017 09:01:31
We have young players in the under 21s who need to be given a chance as well,
O'hare/ hayes/ mckirdey/ clark/ sulaman
Is this kid mcburnie any better than what we have got now?
We need a experienced striker on loan to give Davis a helping hand in my opinion.

02 Aug 2017 11:27:39
Bruce said the weekend he was looking to have Jack as a main stay in the team and really have the team play around him and build them around how to get the best out of him. Makes sense because Bruce has started using formations with a number 10 role which he didn't at all last year and weirdly enough after 3 years Jacks numbers changed to the number 10.

Read today it could be 6 months out with him, but his dad has said 2 or 3, hope its the latter. Should be able to keep fit as well given it's a kidney injury he should be able to do lots of lightweight stuff.

Two losses on the spin, don't think we've done that since Reading and Cardiff start of the season. We need to sit back, relax and regroup. This two games have gone, no need to criticise it isn't going to change anything. We are 4th, possibly 10 points off 2nd with 8 games to play, during 80% of the season most fans would have snapped your hands off for play offs and we've done bloody well to get here considering how we started. Now Cardiff need to drop 10 points for us to make second, their most likely losses are Derby, Wolves and Us, personally I can't see it happening but never say never. The main thing we need to focus on now is ourselves, get everyone back fit, bring back the team spirit we saw before these two games and get some form going into what will be the biggest 2 possibly 3 games of our recent history. Make no mistake about it, failure to go up this year has grave consequences, we have been at a huge advantage these last two years but that luxury ends come the end of the season, we will have to sell one or two of our best players and we will see very little coming in for the next few years. We are on the cusp of a defining moment within our history, personally I trust this group of lads and the manager to get us through it, but no matter what let's just make sure we do all we can, get the atmosphere up and let the players know we are with them all the way!

1.) 18 Mar 2018 10:01:13
Well said Chris.

2.) 18 Mar 2018 10:11:07
Agree 100%
We have to go up this season,
Ftp will really hit us hard next season and lots of out better players will be off to new pastures,
We have done well to get where we are and if you look at other blogs they want Bruce out now,
That is not the way we have to stick with him whatever.
Bruce had made mistakes but tell me manager's who don't?
This from a fan who did not want him as villa manager
He has done a good job and we need to get behind the team to make sure we make the play offs at least,
Because looking behind us there are many teams closing on us and we can't afford many more slip-ups,
Team to watch for play-offs are millwall,
They are really flying up table,
Come on villa get back on a winning streak.

3.) 18 Mar 2018 12:01:47
I am pretty sure Bruce will not be reading this, so it should appear that I am not getting on his back, I am giving my honest opinion about our manager and team.
After all the euphoria and chest beating following last weekend`s result, it did occur to me that something like this was going to happen.
I have said on here before that I get fed up with all these false dawns with Villa, and I can see one happening again, let`s be honest and get real, we are far from being the best side in the division.
Far too often we flatter to deceive and are getting found out far too easily again, you can see it from the stands and you can see it from your armchair, if you can`t beat a team like Bolton on their showing last night what chance have you got, and yes I think we were that bad.
As you already know I do have my reservations about Bruce, and I have aired them on here many times, so nothing new, and I honestly think if we do go up, the likely hood is we would come straight back down, that is an assumption of course not a certainty.
I noticed yesterday how Bruce was walking up and down in his area totally devoid of any ideas of what to do, and wishing something would go in the net off a divot in the turf.
I also think the substitutions he made were more in desperation than tactical, there were four strikers on the pitch at one point, when it was blatantly obvious we needed creativity from midfield, it is that plan B thing again.
If the players we have in our squad performed at the levels they performed at when we purchased them, we would surely be where Wolves are now, once every third game is not good enough.
I love my club with a passion, and crave for top flight football at Villa park again, our position is still very favourable.

4.) 18 Mar 2018 12:18:19
A very, very good post chris. to criticise just breeds all the negatives. two on the bounce is worrying. we are still in the play offs though, so its still all to play for. How true it is i'm not sure but jt is talking about playing on forr us next season Will wwe be able to afford him though if wwe don't goo up.

5.) 18 Mar 2018 14:26:07
Thanks lads, hard to be positive at times like this but just remember this season we’ve beaten Fulham, beaten Middlebrough, beaten wolves. On our day on big occasions this season we have showed up, we have struggled against the teams we are expected to, but when the pressure is on and on the big occasions we have showed up. With John Terry who has won everything at club level, been the key figure in dressing rooms that have achieved amazing feats like when they over turned the deficit against Napoli. James Chester been promoted before, Jedinak the same, Chester and Taylor in the wales squad that shocked everyone at the euros, Hourihane captained Barnsley to promotions, Adomah Snodgrass. I can go on. Bruce has go teams promoted through the play offs more than once, they say it’s a roulette but experience has to play a part and for 3 games I believe we can beat any team from this league out in front of us.

17 Mar 2018 19:27:38
Games like this is what has cost us automatics. They capitalise on poor defending and then create literally nothing else, we create 3 or 4 brilliant chances, take non and lose. Conditions were awful but the same for both teams, Taylor should have been sent off for the challenge on Bjarnson and we should have had a penalty for the handball in the first half, with that said when we needed them Adomah and Snodgrass went hiding, Grabban wasn't good enough and missed chances. Elmo and Bjarnson are weak links that's cost us so many times tonight, you can't account for that, we need them out.

17 Mar 2018 19:20:59
Are Elmo and Bjarnson having a competition who can be worse and cost us the most?

1.) 17 Mar 2018 19:25:23
Terrible performance by all,
Now it's the play offs
Not one player had a good day,
Very disappointed with this after the results went our way earlier in day,

2.) 17 Mar 2018 19:33:33
No one had a good day but two had extreeeeeeemely bad days.

3.) 18 Mar 2018 09:08:29
Unfair to single out 2 players for being Very poor,
The team were poor throughout ,
Grealish was our best player but we have had 2 poor games back to back,
And if we are not careful the play offs could be out of reach as well,
We have messed it up now for 2nd place
Just hope that Cardiff lose 3-4games but does not look likey now.

4.) 18 Mar 2018 09:48:03
Why is it unfair? Adomah and Snodgrass went hiding, same way they did against QPR, however Elmo consistently played us into trouble, the corner they scored off was because Elmo lost possession trying to hoof it out when there was plenty of options and he couldn’t defend for toffee. Bjarnson got ran all over, consistently miss placed passes and melted under pressure, several times in good attacking situations with loads of options he ruined our oppertunity. It’s not unfair, just saying it how it is.

5.) 18 Mar 2018 12:36:39
Grealish aside every player had a mare,
It was a poor team performance end of
It's just not fair to pick out 2 when you could have said
8 players went missing on night,
Move on to next game and hope that everybody turns up!

17 Mar 2018 10:00:01
Saying it now for future reference, if we are in the play offs and we have everyone fit - we will get promoted. That include Jimmy Danger, Andre Green, Alan Hutton etc. Just saw some highlights from earlier in the season and remembered just how good Kodjia is on his day and how much of a threat Green is.

13 Mar 2018 22:04:55
Banana skin of the highest order, nearly every player was bang average, they wanted it more and put in more effort and energy. Jedinak can't play 2 games in a week, saying that they all looked tired and half arsed. It was always going to be hard after the levels of energy and concentration shown on Saturday, however with the experience of Bruce, Terry and co you'd think they'd know about this sort of likely dip and get us back up for it. 27 points available but as we've got to make up 7 points to get to second we probably need to win every game to make the auto's. We normally bounce straight back after a loss so hopefully straight back on it Saturday, whatever will be will be and we have to these lows the same way we take the highs of Saturday.

1.) 14 Mar 2018 07:53:43
Very disappointed with the result and performance,
We put every last effort in beating wolves but we had nothing left in tank,
This weekend coming is our last chance for me,
We have to beat Bolton and derby has to beat Cardiff,
If these results don't happen I will then say play offs,

2.) 14 Mar 2018 10:35:30
I didn’t realise Cardiff had derby the weekend, this really is last chance now.

3.) 15 Mar 2018 11:08:17
I agree with you there chrisavfc . We slipped up at the wrong time against qpr personally think we will have to settle for the play offs .

I just read about it, I’m still of the belief that we should just concentrate on ourselves and get up off our own backs and hard work, let them crack on if that’s the way they want to run their club. I highly doubt anything will come of these investigations and doubt even more it would result in points deduction or any serious punishment. Whilst reading about this tho I’ve read from a few sources that the premier league have already said they won’t allow them to run the club in the same way, should they be promoted. Whether they mean having a super agent so heavily involved or just the way they go about transfers I haven’t got a clue but it’s interesting and would be good to watch from the outside should they go up.

You said “wolves fans are loving this”, Ed said “so you loving this mr potato head” and you said “yes Ed bus shhh” or something, mate your a weird guy, you’ve gone to the length to make a separate account to banter another team who you wouldn’t have dreamt about since you’ve been a football fan, there is no real rivalry there other than the fact it’s close, your saw because we beat you 4-1 and your meant to be next years champions league winners. Go outside, take a breath, have a wash and realise it’s big brilliant world out there, in the real world.

Where have wolves gained all these fans from? Couldn’t even sell out half their ground last season, a little bit of success and it’s packed! Will they all disappear again when mendes walks away, or when the premier league don’t allow them to carry on the way they are, or when Neves and the rest of them no longer wanted to play in the tropical paradise of wolverhampton😂💩. Nah come on lads we gave them enough when we embarrassed them at Villa Park, let them have their moment. But remember we’ve been around long enough to know that when they start getting pumped every week in the prem, wolves fans seem to disappear, and they’ll go back to taking half allocations to away games and closing whole stands at home, so just be patient lads.

If we don’t go up we are going to be losing 2 or 3 maybe 4 key members of the squad, that’s outside of Johnstone and Snodgrass. In someways it would be an awful time to change manager as we are putting ourselves on the back foot again with so much change, however in other ways it’s a perfect time to change gaffer if that’s what the board want to do as it give them the oppertunity to shape a new squad for next season. Personally I’d stick with Bruce should the worse happen, however seasons not over yet and I believe we are going up!
