really hope the chairman stands up to his twitter comments and we get the extra few bodies in,

personally i hope we get a decent striker to take the pressure off kodji or if he's injured we are not relying on gabby or McCormick,

also really would like a experienced center back to play alongside chester and for baker to keep learning from

27 Jan 2017 16:22:42
Have to say the dr has done more than I expected.
Can see 2 going out and possibly 1 permanent and 1 loanee coming in.

26 Jan 2017 19:07:12
What a brilliant transfer window.
Truly inspired signings.
I really hope it's true about Gradel as well. That boy is rapid. I'm talking Traore rapid

26 Jan 2017 19:19:40
Yeh its certainly is Mendax, some real good business done.
Would love a proven goal scorer now, and maybe another defender Like Melberg/ Larsen, hard to find I know but they are out there.
6 have to go now, fed up writing their names, We all know who they are, then all hunky dori

26 Jan 2017 19:54:59
Max Gradel from bournemouth mendax? Haven't seen that yet but that would be brilliant! Even if not a starter his the sort of player to turn a game on it's head off the bench.

26 Jan 2017 20:26:22
It get's better Chris, apparently Brum are after him as well. It's been reported in a few places. How much truth in it is difficult, as always, to gauge.

26 Jan 2017 22:00:19
Before you get too carried away, get a reality check, just remember you same guys were waxing lyrical when we signed Gestede Adomah Ayew Veretout Gana Elphick Jedinak Mc cormack. Not one of these will be in the starting line up against Brentford. Six million worth of signings is not a justification for the euphoria I am reading.

26 Jan 2017 22:19:13
I take it you are disappointed then.

26 Jan 2017 22:27:47
Yeah, on reflection, you're right mate. This has been a dreadful transfer window
I hope we've kept the receipts.

26 Jan 2017 23:31:52
I think this has been a great transfer window. I didn't think we would sign as many as we have. He's signed the players we have been screaming out for. A new right back and a new midfield. The summer we will just need to tinker and maybe splash out on a top striker. Abel hernandez if hull go down would be nice. And at half the price we offered last summer. And these players are proven at this level. And the best players in their teams. Happy days if you ask me.

27 Jan 2017 01:02:11
For a guy who calls himself 'hopeful' you really aren't very positive. Like at all. We've just signed Lansbury and Hourihane, two of the best in the division in their position, who both captained teams around us in the league for virtually nothing. And better yet they sort out the biggest problem with our squad, the lackluster midfield. Its outstanding business.

OK they aren't Messi and Ronaldo but what caliber of player are you expecting us to get exactly?

We got Bree in to cover for the injured De laet so we aren't stuck with Hutton as the only option. We got Thor who can play wide left which is the other position we are really short in and he's also quite versatile. Remember this window isn't normally where the big money is spent, its for bolstering the squad in its deficient areas to see you through the rest of the season. So far we have done that fantastically well and it would seem we aren't finished yet - all without breaking the bank. If we get some cover for Amavi, ship McCormack out and replace him and maybe thin the squad a little I'll be a very happy man.

Hi Hopeful, I take your point about previous buys but this time it looks like SB has made planned buys not the panic action that DiM took.
DiM went overboard and put silly money on the table.

The look of the team will change as will the style and hopefully the results.
Keep your reality, it is vital, and accept that SB has spent less than DiM did on one disagreeable Scot.

26 Jan 2017 17:46:40
Team for next game picks itself for me

Johnstone
Bree, Chester, Baker, Amavi
Jedinak
Adomah, Lansbury, Hurihane, Bjarnason
Kodja

Plenty of goal threat from midfield to support Kodja

26 Jan 2017 18:43:45
Same as mine Woz.
Bunn, Hutton, Elphick, Tshibola, Grealish, Green, Ayew, The bench

26 Jan 2017 19:54:00
Good looking team Wodzvilla
in some games Bruce will rest Jednak and throw either Grealish or Ayew in with Lansbury dropping deep. All looks good

26 Jan 2017 19:56:49
Grealish unfortunately won't make the top grade due primary to inconsistentcy. One game on fire the next off the boil

26 Jan 2017 17:30:11
Anyone know if kodjias back?

26 Jan 2017 16:41:35
SB has bought in 4 players that in total cost less than DiM spent on the useless Scotsman.
Is that good business?
Or is that great business?
SB should become a Villa legend if our results go the right way.
Come on you Lions.

Last player we bought from Barnsley was the outstanding Danny Blanchflower who later went on to captain the spuds in their double year.
Pinch me I must be dreaming.

26 jan 2017 16:40:16
it's like we're living in a villa wonderland, if brucey gets his next 2 targets then it really is time to, celebrate good times (and for those too young, or no knowledge of quality music, that is a song by kool and the gang from way back. anyway, where are those flares, oh i'm still wearing them.

26 Jan 2017 16:07:55
Question is, we are now spoilt for choice for experienced captains. So who would we want as regular team captain - now that we have signed both the Forest and Barnsley captains?

26 Jan 2017 17:03:09
and we already have previous Bournemouth and Palace skippers too
and we have have mccormack who will be skippering the red lion in the Ayrshire Sunday Highland pub league in 2 years time!

26 Jan 2017 16:03:19
I just think its nice of palace to be keeping brady match fit for us to pick up in the summer so he can keep playing in the prem.

26 Jan 2017 15:58:39
buzzing to say the least! By the looks of things he's been training with the squad since Tuesday/Wednesday time so clearly no one among us work at Bodymore. Excellent business this window, taking advantage of others instead of being taken advantage of for once! Midfield has gone from our worst aspect to our best and now Bruce has 8 days to work with the whole squad, expecting a huge performance vs Brentford, can't wait!

The new set up behind the scenes ,proving their worth .From Dr T ,all the way through ,congratulations on some brilliant signing ,for not a lot of money .All bodes well for the future of our great club .Onwards &Upwards Villaforever

26 Jan 2017 14:44:54
dr t and the mighty villa all the way to the top. by 2022 I think we will of lifted the premiership title.

26 Jan 2017 16:12:20
Just want to say that the DR and his team look as though they are doing a great job. the difference in the feel of the club is far better than 6 months ago. The Dr has kept his word and supported SB, who I think will be a great manager for AVFC - Thanks to all involved in this transformation.

The icing on the cake will be another striker to relive the pressure on kodjia. A pacey wide man, and a LB squad player + RHM to sign. then get rid of the dead wood - Richards, Westwood, Gardner, Hutton, Grabby Gabby,

26 Jan 2017 13:26:57
Some great signings but need to move the dead wood out.
