Come on Hogan, get that hat trick.

Was really gutted he hit the post in the 2nd half. He deserved a hat trick. He looks a changed player. Long may the goals continue. So all you haters is he still a flop then.

with the news coming out of portugal that mcshortface has reintegrated back into the squad, lost weight and making an effort, it does give us options if he is the player we thought he was.

striking partnerships are all about the blend and not necessarily the 2 best players. unfortunately i don't think from what we have seen that kodjia brought out anything from hogan or mcshortface when they played together.

assuming kodjia may not fit to start the season, I would be interested to see whether mc and hogan could be a better pairing as their styles are more complimentary.

Great to know mcshortface is pulling himself together. hopefully he will give us options. i wasn, t a fan of him after his antics. credit where its due though if he has turned it around. AT the end of the day The club is everything it has to be.

I'm on the fence regarding prodigal son McShortface. Mind you, at least I'm on it and not unable to get over it ;)

very good MD.

Ugo, one of my favourite villa players, made gareth southgate look a better player than he was. Always used to bet on him as 1st goalscorer, villa to win 6-1. Gutted.
RIP Big fella.

One of Villas greatest defenders in the same class as God, Melberg, Evans, Nichol, Laursen. - Thanks for the memories RIP big man.

i've been thinking for a few days now and dare not say it out loud, but can't stop myself any longer - anybody else think we're going to get 3 wins on the spin starting saturday?

Jesus! You've said it now! That's naffed it!

2.) 25 Aug 2016 20:44:10
Great edit eds! 😜.

{Ed003's Note - well stop bloody swearing !!! ;) }

3.) 25 Aug 2016 21:44:34
😔 I've let my family down, I've let you down, and I've let my self down.

Sorry.

4.) 25 Aug 2016 21:51:54
Sorry Flackster couldn't keep it in any longer - I take you've been thinking likewise then?

5.) 25 Aug 2016 22:19:28
I was mate! I think we could go on a bit of a run.

6.) 26 Aug 2016 00:49:17
I agree, however I would prefer a bad start and then after Christmas that is when you go on the run! That would be the perfect scenario!

7.) 26 Aug 2016 10:13:50
It was looking so good as well!
Apparently we have an offer on the table for robson hal kanu, he has other offers too.

8.) 27 Aug 2016 08:13:23
I'm with Flackie on this - I'd love to see both the team and my missus go on a bit of a run. A run for the Villa so we can move up top where we belong, and a run for the missus because she's two stone overweight 😠.

i heard warnock on with brazil this morning and he clearly fancies it. it made me think though, right now we don't need a head coach, we need a manager, someone who stamps their footprint all over the club - fergie, wenger, big sam etc. of those around warnock and pearson fit that mark, neither would be my first choice (dyche), but right now i'd settle for stability and some foundations in place to get back to the premier league with everything around the club to stay there. i know we'll get a director of football etc - but how many of those in the english game would you say are successful?

i am genuinely excited for the future and am looking forward to next season, whoever the manager is i will back 100% (unless he keeps gabby as captain! ) and wish him luck in the transfer market
utv.

Unfortunately I agree with the Flacksters sentiment.

Brucey will only be judged on whether we get promoted or not. If we don't get promoted no one will look back and say "well at least we had a good cup run, give him another season", the call for him to go will be loud and long.

The Bristol C manager hasn't endeared himself to me after some of the comments after last night and after we smashed them, but at the end of the season, making the play offs (they won't get promoted) and a very decent cup run will be a major over achievement and they'll probably have an open top bus tour.

That's the difference a cup run makes to small clubs and big clubs with real expectations.

i think Hogan could get more goals than kodj and get way more assists as long as we play to his strengths and he gets a good run in the team, injury free.

wtw - if we could off load mcshortface i would get wells, move gabby down the pecking order and ease rhm and davis in rather than relying on them.

also, i think its a great move for Tish, get a whole season in at MK and se what sort of player comes back because i still think he's got something to offer.
