Not lovin the style of the sponsor tbh kits themselves are nice but i feel the blue has been washed out and a bit pale these days preferred the nike ones.

John Terry yes please - what do we get - the best defender there has been in the premiership, with a previous season where he had a rest and was fully able to recover from injury and niggles, a born leader who hates loosing, the best defense organiser in the premiership player who contributes with goals from central defense. A player who has won everything (except the Championship) .

A player who although will not play every game can come off the bench when he is not in the starting 11 to manage the game to a conclusion and hopefully prevent games that we were leading in becoming draws. A defensive coach for Baker and Chester and the up and coming kids, and hope he will change the club mentality to a winning mentality. If he does that worth every penny.

This Terry thing could go either way!
He could get into the players we have and get a really positive affect on the villa and take us up to the promised land!
Or it could be the worse possible signing and we are stuck in the championship for another 1 year or more!

I don't know what to think if I'm honest,

Villa could be looking to sign the recently released John Ruddy as the team's new goalkeeper.

He seems like a decent option with quite many great saves.

I got this from eurosport mate they said deal was done just waiting for a anouncement. I don't know a lot about him but I do wonder why he never played for either club? But if Bruce thinks and this is his words Iam only buy players with that little bit of quality then he must be good? Surely Steve Bruce wouldn't get us a poor player? "Giving the youth a go" is fine assuming they are good enough. Maybe they are not.
I've nothing against playing young kids but they have to be good enough
It should be for the kids themselves to put in performances in front of Bruce that make it impossible for him to leave them out. Like Andre Green has done.

He must have something, he is a pro, and an international at a decent national side.
Sometimes the player doesn't fit the club. Sometimes after this the player has a point to prove.

I know youth has to be good enough mendax but you missed my point mate. my point was that if we are going to take a chance on a guy that has NOT been good enough for Brighton and Southampton and has not made a single games for either then give that chance to one of our young defenders like the guy Bruce bought in for bury. he must see something in him he bought him. to me this is bs as tony has stated.

I agree that we shouldn't sign this guy if he's poor (I know nothing about him) but I don't conflate the argument to propose we play a youth player regardless of ability.

no I did not mean that mate. I don't want a poor player in the team full stop. what I ment was rather than waste money on a poor player give a untried young player a chance if they are deemed good enough. don't waste money on rubbish and never give a young guy a chance. for me we here a lot about how good our youth is but we never seem to bring em through and give them a run like other teams do like Southampton or spurs for example. yes we have jack in and out and green is pushing but still seems to me like the mindset is let's spend on x player who is a gamble rather than try our own lads.

But that's the point, we are giving young players a chance. In general they just prove not to be good enough.
Maybe we needed to question why that is?
Why are we not attracting youngsters of the right ability or what is wrong with our coaching methods once we have them.

scouts or lack of them were not good enough in UK and around world. tony said this when took over and one of the main things we are putting in place. let's hope we start to see the results of this in the future.
