Understand that Hutton will not be retained at the end of his current contract.
Some have given him a lot of stick in the past.
Hutton has never shirked a challenge, always a 100% player.
Personally I hope he gets a good offer from another club.
Forget the "bomb" squad, if asked to play in goal he would have done it.
A proper pro, very few about.

Agree 100% about Hutton
Great pro
Took stick over the years here but came back stronger than ever to prove how important he is to the team.
All the best where ever you go at end of season,
Puts the likes of gabby and Richards to shame.

2.) 31 Jan 2018 10:54:41
I’m gutted that this is happening.
Might not be the most skilled player we seen at vp, but definitely the most committed.

3.) 31 Jan 2018 11:33:32
Hutton commitment is his middle name.

CREVELLI.
Are we really looking at a striker who hardly ever scores?
We have one but he now plays in Oz and generally fans don't want him back. I know that he is seen as a lazy sod but he is scoring, albeit in a third grade league.
Should we pursue this new name and hope or just walk away?

Oldvillan

1.) 25 Jan 2018 09:20:44
Walk away simply!

I'm bored.
Christmas day, everyone full of joy and food and the odd shandy.
WtW has found a coupLe of friends or should that be fiends?
Ok, if we fail to win tomorrow and JT misses a few more games could we back to the winter spiral?
However if the worst happens (we don't make even the play offs) the Dr will save money as JT bonus of £2m is only payable on promotion.

Serious stuff.
The way the defence played on Saturday will Bruce bring back Elphick (god help us) and stick the bearded wonder back in front of the back line.
Oh how I wish Mcgrath was there for us now.
Hogan needs some one to push the ball through the defenders, he didn't become poor because he signed for AVFC.

Too much interplay, not enough on target shots. SB seems to believe Arsene Wenger philosophy of the perfect goal.
Get the ball forward and I don't care if it ain't pretty. Both of the Blades goals were long punts that ended up in our net.
We can do that! Hogan can do that!
Change the plan, surprise the opposition, we have to be fluid not stagnant.
A draw tomorrow will not do.
3 pts is a must.

Watching the game tonight worst villa team I seen in years bring back the team of the late 90s into dressing room show them how a team played after 70 min went off to watch coronation street with my family as I said worst team time for change.

{Ed007's Note - Corrie's not much better but at least wee Carla's back.}

Would Shane Long be a good fit?
Scores frequently every where that he has played.
Could possibly buy him if we shift some of the non appearing players.

Oldvillan

1.) 03 Dec 2017 17:10:05
Shane Long still has a house in, I believe the Sutton area. A mate of mine fully decorated it in the summer as they thought he was heading back to the Midlands in last transfer window. Perhaps it will now hapeen.

2.) 03 Dec 2017 17:30:09
Like Hogan, he might not fit the system.

3.) 04 Dec 2017 15:55:52
Shane Long is £20M striker all day long, I'd swap him for Kodjia in a heartbeat

UTV.

4.) 04 Dec 2017 18:52:43
I wouldn't say he scores frequently. He scores 0.2 goals a game in his career. But yes he's a decent player and works hard. Wouldn't swap him for kodjia and if we ever paid more than 8m for him I'd feel robbed.

5.) 04 Dec 2017 21:07:26
I wouldn’t swap him for Kodjia because he’s not the right style of striker an it would be a waste of time.

6.) 05 Dec 2017 15:55:19
I didn't mean literally swap him lol, I'd rather him than Kodjia in as much as he's a team player and not a selfish player, selfish worked for Shearer and works for Kane, Kodjia ain't nowhere near their standard. As an aside, didn't Bruce sign Long for Hull? So he fancies Long, not literally again lol?

UTV.

7.) 06 Dec 2017 18:05:38
Yes he did.
How about Long for Hogan+++.

According to reports Bruce is looking at McBurnie from Swansea on a loan deal.
Is he worth it or should we be looking at proven strikers who regularly appear on the score sheets when they get a game.
Now I don't trawl through the team sheets etc of other clubs but are a lot of players that merely keep a seat on the bench reserved for them.

Unlikely to get them but the likes of Austin, and Murray should be on the radar.
However Gayle could be a target.
We need the poacher that will fit in with our "style" of play.
Hogan seems lost in our ranks as we don't play to his, big John does what he wants ànd Gayle, Austin and Murray could be a fit.

Let us not get another no name that merely gets on the pitch.
We are all aware thar "fair play" comes into play but surely as we are now looking reasonable we could entice aa recognised player to join us?

Oldvillan

1.) 03 Dec 2017 17:32:11
Bit weird you said look at players that “merely keep a seat on the bench” and then go on to name 3 players that all started and scored in the premier league this weekend.

2.) 04 Dec 2017 10:17:33
The 3 names don't merly get on the pitch they play.
The post said "not merely sit on the bench."
McBurnie sits on the bench, sometimes.
We need scorers that get at least a goal in every two games they play.
A simple add on, Palace look doomed and Benteke is not doing anything. Would we take him back should the opportunity arise? Fair play or fee could prove a stumbling block.

3.) 05 Dec 2017 17:43:55
We brought in 3 proven strikers last year, one is in Aus and 2 are out for most the season.

Talented younger players on the way up is what we should look at.

The Championship has changed. Teams with young dynamic players and managers are doing very well.

Was that not close.
We got an away day bonus.
Smash and grab, points that are ground out are so good.
Still in the mix for automatic, but please don't leave it so late anymore.

As an aside to the coming event against the dark side, I have been wondering if the BC ladies just might be a better than the men's team.
Just a thought!

Best business in January, keeping hold of Johnson.
Could have gone where ever.
We have a need now to plan for life in the prem, not certain, but need to prepare.
Many of the squad are ok for champs but would be caught short in the prem.
We bought players to get us out of the champs, not players to keep us in the prem. The forward planning during the yanks years was non ex instant and it is clear that we are now 5 years in arrears.
Some young blood has come in to support the youth we have but not enough.
Hopefully money will be available in the summer to keep us in the prem.

Lots of supposition regarding who Bruce will try to get in as striker.
Looking logically and economically the wee Scot is moving up the list of possibilities. He is here, we are paying him, he has scored a bucketful of goals.
Bruce can keep him to use if we get injuries or if we are strolling then stick him on for the last 10 mins.
Sturidge, Welbeck nor Deany heading our way.
Possible Gayle, Marriot or my old Mom.
Don't hold your breath. When I was annoying she never missed!

It won't be a walk over.
The dark side always raise their game just for us.
We could settle for a point but three are needed.
Not impossible but it will not be pretty. No room for fancy stuff, efficient and decisive should make the day.
As long as they don't play their ladies team we should do the job.

It's only words, it cannot have an effect on what actually happens.
I really can't believe that grown up people believe what is written by some posters
Much is posted to see their names on the site, they need acknowledgement, approbation, and replying to everything is just what they want.

How about a deal?
Murray + £5m for Davis?
Murray scores on a regular basis, Davis holds the ball up.
Currently we need goals.
Davis is still raw but we need a finisher.

Someone must be looking ahead!
This is essential in any business if success is to be acheived.
Deano keeps hold of Tammy till May then has to look for another striker as Chelsea will definitely want Tammy back. Maupay by then 25m or with another club.
Even worse Tammy changes his mind on Jan 31st and we have no time to look for another striker.
15/ 18m now for Maupay and we are quids in as the lad will develop with us.
Deane would likely play Tammy for 60 mins then Maupay till the end or any other pattern.
Hogan needs to go elsewhere to get a game as he is only a bit part at the moment. Kodjia needs to know that he is not guaranteed time on the pitch.
The time is now to formulate a side that can rise to the heights of the prem. This is what the top teams are doing but in a way we cant. They buy players then loan them out till needed or to stop other clubs buying them
Old business addage states "Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. " We've been there and failed and I don't want that experiance again.
Perhaps this year we fail again so preperation must be for next year and a great push.
NSWE appear to be willing to wait for success but they will not wait for ever.

Hi Dave, From where does this info come?
NSEW will want an instant return for this sort of money but it could suggest that they are intent on following Man City up the league (s)
With this sort of money I would want firstly a midfield general, a leader, a player to drive others, a motivator.
We lack this type of player, too many nice guys.
They say that one man can't make a team but all successful teams do have a strong middle man who commands respect. We had one last year!
Is there such a man in the English leagues that we could buy or is abroad where we will look.
Could we find an English player or will we go elsewhere?
I am sure that we are all waiting impatiently to see the future that we want.

Eze translates into Grealish.
Gets fouled a lot but also falls over in the breeze.

I really enjoy your optimism but I will be happy with simple promotion.
There are several teams now looking for the play offs and that gives cause for caution.
One last game can ruin the season and we are so fragile at times.
AVFC can beat any of the teams at any time, but not every time.
We need Cardiff to have a rough spot and ensure we don't.
Forget our neighbours, there is room for both of us. Just get the second slot, please!

Sat in a bar in Spain with the BCFC supporters club, both of them, and being told that they were going to stuff us out of sight.
Cahill went up like the space shuttle and they all went home.
Oh what a day!
