Just watched Chester clearance from last night over and over again! Looked amazing from where I was on the Holte but seeing it from different angles what an amazing piece of defending! Brilliant and hope continues to build confidence! One Paul McGrath would have been proud of VTID.

I completely understand it but really hate when booing happens. Worst when at players but really uncomfortable today with we want Brucie out chants! I have been a bit of a fence sitter and as soon as I have headed towards enough is enough he seems to get a lucky break such as last year Davis coming in and clear air talks before boro away win!

This now feels very different in that he seems lost and cornered, too afraid to take risks. Today was awful but is a reflection of most of our performances in patches or in full such as Sheffield Utd away!

We are pedestrian, musical statues with no music just inept on the break! No one left higher up the field during set pieces and playing so deep for too long.

There was a spell after the wonder goal when could see what energy and attacking flare they could produce so it must be something in the instruction and reigning in of expression of themselves.

Too many poor performances from individuals who should be much improved with a leadership change.

I fancy owners don't need any booing to see such a meagre win rate and a team with no cohesion or identity is in need of either another Bruce lucky break or sadly a new search for a manager on Monday?

Don't fancy Sheerwood and not sure Mendez could repeat miracle in the West Midlands. Not to be too predictable but Dean Smith, however would need time so no chance of PL return this season I fear unless he can kick start our stars into becoming a team VTID.

Total common sense analysis of our situation, only thing I would disagree with is i'd say Sherwood has unfinished business at Villa, and would know what to do with the over abundance of flair/ attacking players we have, defensively we're screwed whoever takes charge. Only glimmer I can see for the defence is if Chelski pay up Cahills contract and he moves to us, we should never of let him go, I'd give him a piggy back all the way to B6 for that goal against the Nose alone

UTV.

In all honesty, Sherwood did really well for us in his short period during the 2014-15 season. It was when Lerner decided to interfere with player signings next season that everything went downhill. The 2015-16 is our worst performance to date. It's no wonder.

try sniffing something different.

Just watched all 26 goals for Tammy Abrahams for Bristol City last season! Very impressed with his Fox in the box displays. Loads of latching onto loose balls, goalie parry outs and also some really confident and inventive efforts! Can't wait to see how he gets on with service from new attacking signings. We are fortunate to have a fair start to the season to build on and now need to really muller some opponents big time! UTV.

Nail biting closure of the window! So delighted that Spurs, Chealski, Man Utd or Man City didn't get our best shining star Alan Hutton! Also pleased Jack is staying and will be up for the promo push!

Milan and Real have still got time to buy Hutton, or Jack. 😉

UTV.

Just paper talk but rumour that Leicester City are after Jack Grealish following in footsteps of Albrighton and Gray both young brummy young talents? If we don't go up could Jack move to improve his England chances?

NickB6

1.) 17 Apr 2018 19:24:46
Yeh, read the same article nick, I have a feeling that grealish could be another agbonlahor, in the sense that unless some club comes in with a ridiculous offer for him and us, he may well stay put.
Man cty, Man utd, or a top foreign outfit might tempt.
I might be wrong but He is a home boy, so unless we plummet I think he will stay put.

Appalling abuse for those brave 3 that stepped forward on Sunday night! I for one think when they individually appear for their clubs at away grounds everyone of them should be applauded when their names are announced as they take the field! Would be a great gesture from true England fans?!

Ok really delighted have my Wembley tickets but really bemused. The villa site stated Wembley areas and ticket prices for area 3 green being £72. Just got two and one for my under 22yrs old and the adults were £40 and £30 for under £22!? Did I miss some announcement or price change or club subsidy? Can't wait for another Wembley day out regardless of the result here's to the spirit of 1994! UTV.

Nick just booked mine in light green paid £72, there are some £40 right at the front in the blue zone amongst the green area I nearly booked these by mistake.

I recall us just scraping promotion with the great late Graham Taylor! We then stayed up only on the last day by a draw! What happened the following season made GT a legend for AVFC giving us some of the best modern times football ending runners up in the top league! Could we have history repeating? I know PL is a very different beast from the old Div One but I say stick with Dean Smith and see what he and his staff can get out of this bunch plus hope a new striker be it a loan one? UTV.

We are all too ready to shoot doom and gloom! This season was always going to be tough and today was never going to be easy. Blades have really built a resilience and have had a great start to Prem League. If we fail against Saints, Canaries and Watford then really worried! We always have Jan to try and strengthen threat up front, keep behind Deano and the lads UTV.

Would be ok because if helps the club to get out of this mess. It will always be Vila Park to everyone in the same way those other Victorian builds will be Anfield, Old Trafford etc!

Spent serious money and time on RMc so why not see if he can offer some cover up front if nothing is happening in this transfer window? If anything if he put in a couple of good shows it could help with sell on because his price currently can't get much lower if he bombs again! UTV.

Oh I feel so depressed, how awful things are! Our last home game we could only put 5 past lowly Bristol City who were second in the division! To make life worse we are 5 points off automatic promotion. The nail in the coffin is we are going to have to have 10 changes to the team on Saturday. I am so envious of the feel good factor at small Heath and Sandwell town! It could be worse I could be a dingle!
Let's get real here and can't wait to see how villa first team squad perform at the city ground tomorrow, every manager will make some bad signings. The most successful manager of our time bought Djemba DJemba remember for ManUtd and probably a few others. UTV.

Realise that whenever I criticise Elghazi he scores a corker! He was infuriating giving the ball away too much but there again so was Luiz and McGinn. If he was a centre forward then we would forgive this as long as he carried on scoring. Because we expect him to deliver more for others I get really frustrated. Perhaps more starts will sharpen his other elements of his game?

Would love to see this against our real competitors but perhaps not likes of Top teams?

We were discussing the Samata/ Davis substitution on our way back and will Buck the Trend here is asking who should Deano have taken off to get Davis into the fray? We did a brilliant job in restricting city to just 2:1 with 15 mins to go. If we had taken off a defender and dropped someone out of midfield then I am sure city would have had the power to obliterate us in the last minutes! If took a midfielder off then the same we would have been even more overalled! I thought Dean's substitutions gave them something more to think about and if that post didn't stop our equaliser (happened post Samata) no one would criticise! We respected across the land for how we made a competition of this final and a bit more praise for Deano and his staff should be sent their way! Get behind the whole AVFC team till May and see us survive VTID.

Brilliant movement today with the stamp of Dean Smith all over it! Great to see him sticking to his principles despite some doubters! People may say it's only. Norwich with injuries but we saw thigh coming in all of our previous games in glimpses! It was all together now and great subs to contribute too! Lovin it! U Onwards and Upwards UTV.
