Whack you are restless, it wasn't perfect but any win away from home is good, if Ollie scored every chance he gets, well he wouldn't be playing for Villa would he, let's hope they get the confidence back now for the weekend.

Probably wouldn't be playing for us, but 2 goals in 13 games is simply not good enough. We won't be successful if he keeps wasting golden opportunities. We don't create enough for him to waste so many, and if we don't go to the next round he will get the blame.

I'd imagine there will be a massive clear out this summer, there so many still around from Deano's time who I think will go.
Emi, Mings, Pau, Diagne, Bailey, Bundia,
Barkley, Watkins,
None of these are going to fetch big money, but to replace 6-7 players is going to take a lot of money.

Our squad has got old and we seen this last season as well where we dropped off.

I think the problem we will have is shifting some of those on your list, so, whilst I think Ollie and Emi will attract decent offers (£30-35 million), the others will be much more difficult to shift because they are all on big money, and I don't see too many takers, certainly not in the PL, if I'm honest.

We need to move from Sunday's result and realise we aren't going to beat every team on the league week in week out, over the full 90 plus minutes it was forward against defence I know we had a man advantage,
Tammy, Dougie, Bailey are only getting up to speed just in the door a week 3 games in a week didn't help either.

When we get everybody fit this now is a serious squad, if that lads can hold in there for the next week's and when McGinn, Kamara Youri Watkins are back we will get champions league at ease we just to keep the gap from untied, Liverpool,
Imagine been able to hold on to this squad for next season, we nearly have two good players for every position.

Keep the heads up keep singing and cheering the lads on keep the faith and keep dreaming because this season will be something to remember.

Does anyone know if we can or can't spend money in this window, Or we going to have to sell?
If we can get in the same calibre players as last january we will push arsenal/city hard

All we need is a ruthless No9 and the sky’s the limit, mentioned him before and he wants to leave, the Moroccan guy at Fernabache, will be playing in the AFCON, check him out, built for the Prem, 28, £30M would get him, before you say age and his price, I raise you a Digne ??‍♂️

Edd, can somebody explain what chelsea are doing, why are they buying so many players on such long contracts, will they get there return from. It in the future because it doesn't look like a here now sort of plan,

Irishvillian

{Ed002's Note - They have added 10 players but 15 have left. There are further departures coming at the rate of perhaps one a day, and there are two planned additions currently - perhaps three. Longer contracts protects value.}

Hardly any point watching the build up on Sky. It will be all about United and Emery should be managing them.

Are Villa playing? I thought it was some sort of Man U tribute.

My team for chelsea

EMI

Cash Konsa linderoff matteson

Sancho onana Luiz Rogers

Barkley

Tammy

At this stage Ollie needs to be benched and try something new

Linderoff looked decent in the run of games we had, And Pau looks a shadow of the player last season

Rogers is better in a deeper role where he can run at players his game isiant finding little pockets with passes

Bartley can find these trough balls but we won't get a full 90 mins out of him (Elliott should be in the squad to bring on)
Tammy has a point to prove

Irishvillian

1.) 03 Mar 2026 18:27:04
Team looks good, Irish. Could play Victor beside Onana and put Luiz in the 10. A couple of goals would work wonders for his confidence. His effort was better than anything we've seen from Ollie since Christmas, and even though the ball was behind him, he did well to make a good connection on it.

2.) 04 Mar 2026 08:31:02
Irish, good call.

Still we p###ed off about Fridays game taughts of going to work tomorrow and listening to the united clowns,
So many players have to step up now, and try get a grip of what we have
Konsa let himself down the club and most importantly the fans, yes I know emotions were running high put he was supposed to be pur leader instead he was one of the worst on the pitch
I don't get why Luiz is getting such a raw deal from the fans he has hardly played any games up until he joined so his match sharpness isiant 100% yet
For me Onana £50 big ones he cost he should have been bossing the midfield on Friday
Rogers (The next big thing) he been nothing for the last 2 games, good players find a way to get involved in the game

What a joke it was like an end of season game, like as if we had nothing to play for, this konsa to cash and back to konsa passing has to stop,
We are carring to many passengers Ollie, Rogers and then when Bailey comes on, sanhco looked decent tonight and then take him I'm baffled on that one
Rogers done more in the 10 mins out wide than he did in 80 plus minutes and the game last week,
I do think there will be a hole sale of changes in the summer regardless of what the outcome is Emi, Mings, diagne, Bundia, Bailey, Ollie, i can't see a massive amount of money been generated out of there sales so it looks like we will be shopping in the bargin basement again

To much to put on young shoulders, he should have been loaned to a championship team for the season let him get game time and goals.

Clearly there is both in it then mate, villa park was sold to another company of the owners as have city and Newcastle and many more do the same villa at the end of last season announced a 60 million loss after the sale, this is many reasons 1 such reason was the length of time we spent in the championship and the parachute paymeant was getting less each year, we had the likes of Richards Hutton and many more on big wages all of this was last year's tax year, Forward on a year and a lot has changed I'd say Jack on the biggest wage which is peanuts compared to orthers in the league, More tv money, villa park sold out until lockdown, look everybody has there views and opinions and mine are that we don't need to sell to buy a better quality playa, yeah we won't be buying anywhere near the amount of players we did maybe 3-4 better type players.

Eds why would villa have to pay money back for broadcasting I was 109% sure it worked the other way, and on another note I don't appreciate the name calling, the eds on this page are the only ones I here mentioning villa and ffp rules it's strange, when smith siad yesterday there is money to spend and it will take a huge offer for the club to sell Jack so that would suggest to me there not worried about Ffp only the eds.

Irishvillian

{Ed002's Note - So Aston Villa are also run by idiots as well then if they are not worried about FFP. One wonders why the owners sold Villa Park to hide losses? There is no point you discussing anything to do with finances as you simply don't get it.}

I don't understand the ffp rules I never stated that I do edd, u siad that money will have to come from somewhere hardly selling the likes of lansbury etc is going to generate a lot of money I'm not been smart here but isiant there a substantial amount of money for staying in the league tv money etc.

Irishvillian

{Ed002's Note - Aston Villa have to pay money back for this season's broadcasting. You really need to put aside any thoughts of money.}

So edd what you are saying is we need to sell likes of grealish mings Mcginn Heaton, to generate money to buy, I don't see this happening with the ffp been relaxed and the supposed 100m plus for staying up I think there will be plenty to spend has city not just got passed the ffp rules, oh and there is the fact of having billionaire owners there aswell.

Irishvillian

{Ed002's Note - Obviously I did not say that and you are clearly an idiot. You also don't understand FFP nor the situation with Aston Villa. There is no £100M plus for staying up. FFP has been "relaxed" to allow clubs to ease their problems not spend for the sake of it. It has nothing whatsoever to do with Manchester City. And it certainly has nothing to do with how much money the owners have. Try not to embarrass yourself further.}

I just feel at the moment we are carrying too many, i.e. Bailey, Rogers, to a point, Watkins, simply because we aren't finding Watkins' runs. Rogers needs to do it week in week out. He has been blown up by the media, but simply playing great 1 game in every 5 isn't what top-class players do.

I just think if we get trough these next to games and pick at least 3 points we will get top 4, We can't afford to give Chelsea, Liverpool a sniff of catching because they will hunt us down, they can go out and spend big in this window to bring in even more quailty to freshing things up
Lads have done great to this point i fear for the reaction when we eventually do lose a game
