Question.
Now Barton's contract has been terminated. Can he sign and play for a club now, or sign and wait till window?
Or can he not do anything until January?

Not saying we should, as I know he's not everyone's bag. but I would love him or of his elk in our midfield.

{Ed003's Note - Nothing until January.}

Shame really with Jedinak missing the Brighton game we could of got him in and around the squad now and had someone to replace the jedi for that game. Don't think he would be a starter but he'd be a perfect back up for Jedinak, andbrilliant for the last 20 minutes if we are winning.

There's a reason why Barton don't stop at clubs long because he is trouble everywhere he goes would you want a average troubled player at our club when we are trying to rebuild me for one don't.

I agree with you Villadaz .
However, I do trust SB. And if he decides that Barton could really help us in the short term then I would support him.

Is Bruce interested in Barton?
Not seen anything that suggests that there is any interest.

last i read barton hasn't been sacked off yet. but even if he does goes i really don't think he is going to help with the attitude problem some of the older lot seem to have at this club, he will be the same as richard and lescott and think he's better than villa.

Paul Lambert new wolves manager today defended his time at villa park saying he had very little to spend an he protected people which he will never do again. He also went on to say when he left the club the club spent money and got relegated. He said i didn't do a bad job did I? So big question is people did paul lambert do a good job at Aston Villa? let's not forget he brought Benteke for us.

He lost it when he changed the way we played, when we played counter attacking with weimann, Gabby and benteke on the front foot and Delph and Westwood playing it through we were really getting somewhere! Then he changed it to possession stuff and it just went down hill, shame really because he was in charge under what was a diabolical board, got no money really, lowered the wage bill and as we've found out since could have achieved something special as he had a deals to take brilliant players in place only for the plug to be pulled, most notably what he said on sky he had a deal to buy de bruyne and loan lukaku in a double deal whilst they was both at Chelsea. Thinking back and I know it's a big what if, but I can only imagine how good we could have been. Owell hey ho, look to future, if we're spending 50mil in the championship when (not if) I can only imagine we'll be spending 75+ and not on 10 players, on 3 or 4 quality additions.

I agree Chris. but, was a different time, with totally different hierarchy. if and buts are pointless now.
In Hindsight I hope we give him respect, as he has never slagged the club, or his time.
And one more thing. I don't think we would be in this league if he was manager last year.

Yea that's what I meant to get across, talking now with ifs and buts it means nothing, just speculation. However I do agree, he knew when he was wrong, he knew when to change the system. He would have took things back to the basics and just aimed to defend and then see what we could do going forward secondary to that. However we might never of been taken over had we not been relegated and we'd be effectively doing a Sunderland, under the same board making the same mistakes clinging on. Call me optimistic but I really think if we go up, the owner will buy quality and back Bruce. Just look at Southampton, wasn't long ago they was promoted (4 or 5 years ago), and ever since they've been top half, and even in Europe two years in a row!
