Im not sure if anyones already posted or asked this and it might be an obvious answer to my question but with all this happening with the DR buying our clubs problems what will happen if he fails? does that mean the that useless yank is still in charge and RDM will be sacked off?

04 jun 2016 01:33:15
no randy lerner has sold aston villa now if it fails aston villa will still have him incharge just assits will be frozen like birmingham city but hey don't worry next week it will all go through fine! welcome to aston villa roberto di matteo and xia and steve clarke.

04 Jun 2016 01:37:14
How can anyone disgree with a question?

04 Jun 2016 10:05:27
Mate you have to get used to it on here people like to pick arguments for the sake of it then call it banter most are gud lads odd keyboard warrior.

04 Jun 2016 12:01:07
Basic grammatical form is beyond some of the posters on here mate.

03 Jun 2016 18:54:09
Liverpool fan here, is amavi any good lads? Better than aly cissokho? And good luck for next season. Villa should be a pl team.

03 Jun 2016 19:03:24
Amavi could be the best left back in country mate. Was incredible in the few matches we saw! Like a younger Ashley Cole.
I hope we manage to keep him!

03 Jun 2016 19:04:16
No, really quite rubbish.
Not worth the £20m that might buy him.
Are you trying to buy ex Villa players?
Benteke, Milner, now Amavi and of course Daniel St urine.

03 Jun 2016 19:05:56
Cheers lerchy. First time poster here actually. Viewed for months and love the content. Evening chaps.

Lerchy, if you have any Anfield contacts then the fan response on Amavi is to advise your contacts he's awful and don't waste your money!

Truth is that I personally thing he is easily in our Top 3 players. Hard to fully judge but from the brief exposure I think the vast majority of Villa fans rate him extremely highly. Creative, high workrate and seems like an all round good sort

Hope to be visiting Anfield again in a seasons time! :)

03 Jun 2016 19:53:25
Love predictive text. Never gets predictive wrong.
Should read Sturidge not St urine.

03 Jun 2016 21:15:33
Ha ha ha I like the St Urine Oldvillain.

03 Jun 2016 21:22:41
well if I say I'd keep him over any of our other players there is your answer lerchy. he's a great player. fast great crosser great going both ways. a 9 out of 10 every game. I hope he gives us at least next season.

03 Jun 2016 21:45:48
Blimey, steady on kingy, we don't need to know on here he goes both ways, that's put me off me toad in the hole!

04 Jun 2016 00:11:29
Thanks for the great response and old villan you must have forgot Berger, Staunton, baros, fridel to name a few.

04 Jun 2016 08:24:58
No they came to us when they were deemed as unrequired at 'pool.
Still have the newspaper cuttings AV 5 LFC 1, tried to sell them on ebay but no takers.
Good luck next season.

04 Jun 2016 14:05:14
Haha all the best to you too.

04 Jun 2016 18:54:59
Is he better than cissoko? i'm better than cissoko! Joking aside probably the best potential along with grealish in our squad.

03 jun 2016 17:43:01
does having a really rich owner in the championship really mean anythink when all we can buy is championship players? and all our decent prem stars will leave?

03 Jun 2016 17:50:26
What "decent prem stars " would those be ?

03 Jun 2016 18:15:38
I'd say not many. I'd say only ones I'd keep are amavi baker Clark Hutton Gardner traore grealish gana Gil ayew gestede sinclair. I'd let all others go.

03 Jun 2016 18:21:14
AMAVI GRELISH AYWE GAUYE VEROUT TROARE. Newcastle Norwich they're not going to sell their best players so why are we selling ours they're under contract so we don't have to sell sell the rubbish ones keep the good. New owner same old rubbish selling our best players if this chairman is the real deal keep the good players and sell the rubbish buy good players to go with the good. What this club has never understood is we will always be crap unless we stop selling our best players!

03 Jun 2016 18:26:01
Other than Amavi, Ayew and Traore, would any other prem side want any of the others? There is talk about Grealish but I think it's just that; Talk.

03 Jun 2016 18:39:51
Jack will show his worth in championship I think mendax as will traore. I'd keep them both and Gil and frighten teams with there skill and brill interplay. they are defo capable just need confidence back.

03 Jun 2016 19:12:16
Traore has to be on the pitch to impress.
Grealish has to stop reading the papers and listening to the "experts".
Gil needs other guys around him that can play and Sinclair could shine in the champs.
For the first time in several seasons I feel that we could watch a winning team in the home dressing room.

03 Jun 2016 21:13:53
All our better players owe us a season (Traore, Ayew, Amavi etc)
No way should we be thinking of selling any of them.
The forces that say we will struggle to rid ourselves of the dross i.e that they are under contract, are also the forces that should permit us to keep the players mentioned.
We keep telling ourselves we are a big club. It's ime to start acting like one.

03 Jun 2016 20:34:12
Now then chaps, its great we're looking at keeping creative players and looking at classy players to come in, personally i think we should be getting in knarly, nasty, irritating players as our backbone, i want teams to come to us thinking that we've got a soft centre and bam, their on their arse wondering what happened, then once we've won the battle in the middle of the park we dictate how its going to go down, the old chestnut silk and steel.

get some young players in from chelski, mix it up, this is the hoofers league remember, most teams play with their brain parked in neutral, apart from team spirit obviously, the only thing to get us up is going to be fitness levels and cunning, old and young, ying and yang (peters and lee, bill and ben, rod hull and emu-oh no sorry, that's another story) you get the picture, we need defenders with attitude, don't be ponsy in defence, no options, get rid, keep it simple.

have your dainty midfielders to create, but i want 1 or 2 enforcers, one's who will follow thru on a tackle when needed, rdm will want players to put a shift in, so forwards and mudfield need good engines, ross mccormack great championship forward, but will he fit our syle, i'm like a broken record keeping banging on about him, but kemar roofe (spelling? ) from oxford is young, hungry and we could probably get him cheaper than mccormack, and he puts a shift in, i'd bring back crouchy, play him in a super-sub role, fairclough style, get zak clough in from bolton, i'd get weater as well, come on boys, what do ya reckon?

04 Jun 2016 08:37:48
Spuds had an en forcer called Dave Mckay in the 60s and he looked after Danny Blanchflower and John White.
Charlie Adam would fill that role perfectly for Gil and Grealish and Gaye, whichever of them play.
Ayew and Gested should create plenty of problems in the front.
Guzan was poor between the sticks but any gk would have struggled with our ridiculous defending.

04 Jun 2016 10:33:53
Good call Oldvillian, but i see the papers are reporting gill wants to go back to spain and gueye wants to stay in the prem; there's a cheeky rumour on social media saying we might give a trial to sessiggnon who has just been released by the (tesco's) baggies, but as usual probably smoke and mirrors, but i make you right, have two rottweillers to cause the damage and let the 'artiste 'midfielders do their thing, a summer of twists and turns coming our way, never a dull moment for the villa!

03 Jun 2016 16:31:58
I think Di Mattio needs to try to keep the likes of Vertout, Amavi, Gil, Adama T, Ayew, Grealish and maybe Hutton, then build around them. Chuck the rest out with the garbage! Å good keeper, Two solid central defenders, two midfielders, å fast attacking winger, and two goal scorers needed. over to you Roberto!

03 Jun 2016 16:56:48
Definitely Hutton.
Might not have the best quality, or be best player, but you can not question his heart, fight or desire.
Best player for us last season.

03 jun 2016 00:49:54
right delighted to have rdm an clarke together. now they have a task bigger than buying players and that's trying to change the attuide of these horrible players who simply don't try and don't care who knows it. now its all right you lot saying bacuna lescot gabby mica guzan and okore will be gone but i simply think nobody will want these players because they have shown there colours last season so far only ones people want are our best players ayew grelish gill amavi. so if these players do stay i belive they have to change there attuide there's no doubt of there ability i think with there head right there decent players but its such a big task as i don't think the fans will stop booing these players which simply wont help. rdm has a huge job this is a crisis club players wise but we are solving our crisises slowly utv good luck rdm your going to need it!

03 Jun 2016 06:32:27
No one needs to buy them. They can be paid off and let go. As greedy egocentric pro footballers tend to be, I think most will take the cash and get a lucrative contract in a rich and and ambitious league abroad.

03 Jun 2016 12:01:13
Brynner. I full understand your comment but it isn't quite as straightforward as saying just pay them off and get rid. A quick fag packet tot up of the time left on contracts and salaries shows that to pay up the 'boo boys' i.e Gabby, Richards, Lescott, Guzan, Okore and Bacuna would cost just under 25 million quid. That would be a huge hit to take in one summer and could seriously hamper recruitment capabilities this transfer window unless Dr Tony is happy to splash some serious dollar around as soon as he is in the hot seat. Biggest sticking points are Gabby (£5.7m to pay up contract), Richards (£7.8m) and Bacuna (£5.2m) . I'd love to have a quiet chat with whoever it was that thought it was a good idea to give Bacuna a 5 year new contract last summer. Let's hope there are some desperate MLS or Chinese teams who will take at least a couple of our hands and reduce the burden.

03 Jun 2016 03:59:39
Rdm has 2 million good reasons to pep them up! for that deal i might grace the training ground with my precence too!

03 Jun 2016 12:37:50
Richards will be "for sale" to anyone at any price.
Gabby will go on a free to anyone, then come back and torment us when we play his new team.
Bacuna is just waiting for Barca, Real, Ajax, Dortmund, Byernetcetc. A free be by any standard to anyone across the world.
Let us see what a good manager and coach can get out of them all and assess the ones to keep and those to go.

03 Jun 2016 14:26:06
Oldvillan. It's Gabby that worries me most. After his very public displays of totally un professional behaviour this year I worry anyone will come in for him - even on a free - and want to pay him the kind of money his current contract gives him with us.
I can see him taking the Nzogbia approach and just sitting out his contract happy to take the money while contributing nothing.
The whole world of modern day footballer contracts needs a shake up. far too much power lies with the agents and players.

03 Jun 2016 14:43:27
There are no circumstances under which Gabby should be kept at the club
His steady decline has gone on for years now and he wasn't starting from a great level.
The man is a joke. But more than that he is synonymous with all that has gone so horribly and painfully wrong at the club over the past 12 months
He is a poison that must be removed.

03 Jun 2016 15:48:17
Couldn't agree more Mendax. He is a one man reflection of everything that is wrong with football these days. If we have to pay anyone off I think he is the key one to get out of the place. He's been over rated for a number of years now and his antics last season when we desperately needed a leader with heart and passion really showed how much 'Mr Villa' he really is.
It saddens me when you see how many normal staff are being made redundant at VP that people like him are sitting there doing nothing apart from taking their £50+ grand a week and basically laughing at the 'little people'

03 Jun 2016 17:51:35
Pretty much how I see it Bob.

03 jun 2016 17:52:31
yes but in the same respect if gabby was brilliant an a goal machine an some1 came in for him you would all say well his got 3 years on his deal we don't have to sell an you would hold him to it. works the other way his crap an his holding on to his deal.

03 Jun 2016 18:19:04
are you gabby Mr know it all. it would explain a lot. !

03 Jun 2016 18:20:17
Never works both ways though does it? If the player is flying and wants away to a bigger club or for more money the agents usually find a way to get a move sorted regardless of how many years contract they have. whereas we get lumbered when they are crap and just have to keep paying for poor or non performances. Player power rules all it seems these days.
