If Bruce did go then I think we should look at employing someone who is young, dynamic and has a burning desire to achieve success and prove some doubters wrong.

Right one thing we can all agree on here is that we are all Aston Villa and want the best for our club. Now We are not wining a lot of people think our teams good so why is it not getting any results? Is it the manager? Is it the players fault? Is it Stephen Clemence fault eg training? Is it the chairmans fault?
Who fault is it what's the reason for us not getting results. I have gave my view so I am going to shut up and listen now what's all your views? Everybodys view is welcome let's have a adult discussion instead of slating one another!

I really do think there's a problem regarding players fitness.
Think it's a culmination of a few things. Bruce's tactics and negative outlook on the pitch.
Poor recruitment ( whether that's Bruce or the board someone has to take the blame)
Some of the players can't handle the pressure of playing for a a great club and buckle.
Maybe the players we brought ( Lansbury, hourihane hogan just aren't as good as we think.

Agree 100% about lack of fitness in team,
We tire so quickly it's very worryingly to see our team rolled over so easily by other teams,
The cancer has been in the club for years now and the tumour is getting bigger year by year,
I don't now the solution anymore we keep changing manager's and backroom staff but nothing changes,

I think villa should play this team . jonson, taylor, terry, chester, bree, hare, whelan the kid from spurs, green if fit, adomah, rhm up front,4/ 3/ 3 . I also have this formation in mind 3/ 5/ 2. Gk jonson Terry, chester, bree cbs, wingbcks adomah, green, mids, whelan, hare, kid from spurs, strikers, davis, rhm. Thoughts on them formations .

Just something I have to say, It`s also a question as well.
It seems to me that anyone who has something critical to say about our teams performances and the managers skills gets slated on here, when all they are doing is voicing a personal opinion.
They are told to shut up, get real, and should not get any responses, or some other sarcastic remark.
Let me tell you this site would be useless if we all agreed with each other on just the good points of our side.
I spent my early years as a Villa fan arguing with anyone who said anything bad about my beloved Villa.
I am now an adult and I have since grown up somewhat and can see when we are poor and when we are good, unfortunately whichever way you look at it at the moment we are bad, I will always say it as it is, my eyes are not claret and blue anymore they are clear.
To me our preseason was a good pointer as to how we would fair, but again I was told it`s just a friendly, its trial and error, it`s for fitness, I have never heard so much garbage, we were poor wake up and face it.
The only problem I have with people pointing out their disapproval at something is: once it`s said that should be it, and not to keep on harping about it, surely that's what cause the friction.
Keep this site interesting, post what you feel and mean, never mind the responses you get, just because people disagree with you does not mean they are right, trust me.
I like the colour Yellow, do you? some of you do, some of you don't, I don`t care I still like yellow.
Please accept the above is only an opinion and meant constructively.

I hold my hands up that I have a major disagreement with a certain poster. (not mentioning names! )
But I do see your point Dave. And if I have upset anyone I apologise.
How ever. my problem is the feeling that certain people WANT us to fail, and create the feeling of failure even before the season, or match has kicked off, just to say 'I told you so'
I do agree that every person in here has an opinion, ave a right to say it, but that does go both ways! If you have an opinion, on the same token, people can argue it!
Also give the opinion, but give it once, not on every post, every thread, and on topics that are not to do with it!
It becomes tedious, boring and if I'm honest frustrating and boring!

Banter is great and certainly better than the football we are playing . I have said it before and I will say it again that positivity breeds positivity .
Our club was bad to the very core during the Lerner era . and the result was a club in the doldrums, we need to stick together and be positive then let this see where it leads us.

Great original post VillaDave, 100% spot on, have put things on here and been met with sarcasm, I just put things I can see happening, things that I know could be happening (through property contacts, footballers buy or view houses before they sign, some rent out to other players) and things I would like to see happen, and try to keep things I would like to see happen be in the realms of possibility. I can't from memory say I have used sarcasm on here, maybe only in retaliation and should only be seen as banter. As for WTW, Classof82, KingVilla, and MrKnowItAll, I look forward to their posts, at least they shake things up? Bit sad they get so much stick

If you were a footballer and were at a championship club and we came in for you, would you come because of the size of our club, our history, what we could pay, or because you were enthusiastic about how the manager sold his vision of the future to you? i hope i'm wrong but i think at the moment its money we pay that swings a deal, and i'm not sure bruce has as much control as he should have, mcshortfarce should have been gone already but no-one will buy him outright, and we all know we need a striker, because kodgia isn't going to hang around in january, his agent has seen to that;and i think the doctor or whoever advises him isn't too savvy either-why would you give a deal to a striker that allows him to leave on loan if things don't go the way he wants, so much for joining us because he wants to stay and get us promoted? and as for the question of give bruce another ten games in charge, time for the team to gel, blah, blah, blah, throughout this summer the reports saying players wanted out at sunderland and looking to scarper off meant everyone wrote them off, simon grayson bowls in and without many signings or much fanfare, AND with next to no preperation time, turns them into a FUNCTIONING unit who turned over norwich, this may be just a flash in the pan but i didn't hear him making excuses and asking for time to turn things around? we'll see if their good fortune continues, but i reckon they'll do just as good as us, if not better because he's a no nonsense manager, not the players' mate, and i hate to say, look at what redknapp is doing at the blue poo, players not half as good as ours, but they believe now, even when they're behind, they now believe they can do something about it, can we say the same?, we just don't appear to have that extra gear (or fitness) when its needed, i hope we sign a seasoned striker who can do a job for us, but unless steve round pulls his finger out to loan more players out then gabbi will have to form one heck of a partnership with hogan, who must be wondering if we'll ever play to his strengths consistently, warnock won't come, so offer a kings ransom to big sam to get us up, bring in a young coach to learn and take over, and put sam upstairs as director of football--basically, if grayson can walk into a club in turmoil and get them functioning in 4 weeks of training, how come bruce can't do it with a squad he's mostly had at his disposal for over 6 months, or am i missing something? -by the way, how you keeping Allyp, been working in london, marvelling at how cheap it is to live and work down there, and its great watching drunk people come out of the pub and jump on a boris bike to cycle home at night, without having to wear a safety helmet! and as for paying £8 for a coffee but think its a bargain because they give you a free cookie, outstanding fella!

The one thing that stood out with your comments is lack of fitness.
Can not remember the last time I saw a fit villa side who played at least 75% of the game at a good tempo,
We tire come half time and surely the fitness regime needs to be looked at
Not a fan of gabby but look at his body his is way out of shape
Look at this o'hare and I see a different animal who seems to run for ever,
Now it's either the players who don't want to work hard or they are simply out of condition,
Or the fitness staff are useless!

I do agree that most players are coming to us because we pay big wages compared to others in championship,
Then they swan around doing Jack rubbish to get a game,
Look at our wage bill no wonder we are in serious trouble financially,
Get some of our young kids in squad they play with more pride than the big wage dossers.

Mainbob-on the button there, maybe the players don't have the desire because the manager is more their 'mate'than the gaffer, i don't understand bruce, he was at united where taggart always made sure his team were at least a month ahead in fitness levels at the start of the season so they had a great chance of building up an early points tally over everyone;how come bruce hasn't done this, he looks to me like a manager in comfort mode, and when you start hearing a manager giving a press conference questioning players desire, surely that reflects badly on him i would have thought? maybe he's doing a mourinho with mind games, if he is, i just hope our players have enough brains for it to register-and one side issue, i reckon bacuna is going to fly at reading with stamm there, yet another player we'll regret letting go so cheap, with no sell on clause, sharp as a marble again, why don't we ever bloody learn!

I'd pick Gardner, Bree, Mccormack, Davis, Hepburn-Murphy, O'hare - all somewhere in the 18, let the player who completely lost it and gave up Saturday that their replaceable and it's not acceptable.

Even though I did not want him as manager I don't like keep changing the manager ever 6 months or so,
We do need stability at the club that's a fact,
But time is running out for him if he can't stop the slide,
It's only 2 games in so there's plenty of time to get right but the signs at the moment are not great and some think drastic needs to change.
But the next 3 games are really big Now and i hopefully expect 7 points mininum.

Since Bruce has come in we have not improved at all,
Still can't win away 2 in 42 games?
That is a disgraceful stat and could be the worse in all 4 division,
So you can see we have a mountain to climb yet,

Like the wolves manager who brought in 11 players and I see they are doing nicely under him so early,
The club needs a winning mentality which looks a million miles away at present,
You hear Bruce after game and he seems a lost soul and I really do hope he sorts it sooner rather than later.
