So apparently we are chasing Nicole Williams again as he didn't want to transfer mid season in Jan. He would b an ideal transfer for us with a release of 45 mil and 20 years old,played for Spain in wc. Just what we need.

Being reported we are after Antonio Cordon following his decision to leave his post as sporting director at Real Betis. he would become our new Sporting director, presumably responsible for player recruitment.
Any one have thoughts on this?

Only what I have read, which seems to show Cordon has a more than decent track record. The one thing I think it does highlight is where the powers lies at Villa Park. Emery clearly holds more sway in terms of the day to day running of the club than either Smith or Gerrard ever had.

It seems that the rumours around Martinez leaving in the summer are strengthening and if he wants to leave we should thank him and wish him well.
For once however the club is in a strong negotiating position and when he goes, he goes on our terms. My personal preference would be we don't sell him to anyone else in the premiership but if the club decides to, then it must be for a record fee for a goalkeeper .

Agree I'd love him to stay but if he goes has to b more than 70mil

I don't see him going simply because I think there are very few clubs that could / would pay what we want from him and most of them have top keepers at the club already. Chelsea the obvious one if they move Kepa on, LOTM made a good point recently about United as well. Outside of those where else would be go really? This Spanish giants have world class keepers already, Bayern and PSG are well stocked, Juve or Inter perhaps but would they drop 60M+ on a keeper when it's not really needed as a priority given the keepers they have? I just don't see him moving unless there is some real activity in the market at the top clubs, he may have an eye on leaving but we hold all the power here and if a stupidedly massive bid doesn't arrive he'll be at Villa next season IMO.

McGinn and Digne fit again for tomorrow. Will be interesting to see if Duran features, given that he hasn't played since October.

Hi ED02 sorry to bother you but I know your clued up when it comes to things about FFP.Im sure I read somewhere but I can't find it with regards the Danny Ings transfer what I did muster from it was that Ings was sold to free up some funds as he was alone on 10% of our wages and selling him was the only option to free up funds for the Summers activity? I know you've mentioned it countless times on other sites but just wanted clearing up on here many thanks??
{Ed002's Note - Ings was not taking up 10% of the wages at Aston Villa, but he was on a significant wage - and there are still two or three polayers at the club earning more. The reason he was sold was with 18 months left on his contract the club could still get a decent return on him - a couple of clubs were keen - and the offer from West Ham was seen as decent so it worked out well for everyone.}
