i have been thinking by the end of the window villa will sign at least 4 new players. i think at the 1st half of the season we will struggle but 2nd half of the season when we gel we will murder that league. There was more positives than negatives how ever full backs need to change if we are going to continue playing that formation rdm picks as they are essential to our creativty! i mean joe bennett had a great pre season and can cross a ball people slating rudy justhead wheres the service for him? we will definitely get there in the end but rdm as got to start picking his best players grelish would of torn sheff wed apart when he came on it was to late! Oh and our new gk will make mistakes he will cost us games his young but he will help us out long term! Iam really confident this side can go up!

Gabriel agbonlahor was on the train heading to London earlier! He sent a picture on his Instagram! I was actually really surprised has slow Ross McCormack was or is that because I'm used to Gabriel agbonlahor?

Happy to see positive comments in wake of the defeat yesterday, we'll do alright this season if we play like that. Sheffield Wednesday are a pretty settled team and expect them to be up there with us come the end of the season.
Also a shout out to the Sheffield weds fans yesterday who enjoyed we enjoyed the banter with. Actually looking forward to this season for a change

A lot of suggestions for a Black Sabbath tune which I agree with, but then found a song by Ozzy as a solo artist called A. V. H (Aston villa Highway) on his No More Tears album and it's pretty good!

i actually don't think we need another striker you can buy 100 strikers but if you have no service 4 them what's the point we was crying out for a creative midfielder yesturday! tisbola should of started for me but just my view.

We need another striker absolutely no question about it, and of course we also need creativity to supply the goods. Thing is we already have creative midfielders like Green, Grelish, Adama, but we need to work out the best formation to get the best of them. Get It right and add one or two others and we could storm the Championship. If Grelish and Adama had started against Sheffield
things would have been very differen, Adama in particular will rip this league apart and I can't wait!

That's where we were short yesterday, would rather Bennett at left back cover than Cissoko when Amavi is fit, get off Gollini's back, looked the part and will only get better, Baker made it that Clark won't be missed and we have Toner as back up, Hutton although he didn't do anything wrong, is a squad player, Grealish oozed class when he came on and should of been on sooner and could of changed the game, he'd link up well with McCormack, Green looks a unit and maybe that means Traore can do 1, we've got a pretty decent back up squad for the division, just need the starting line up stronger

He has the touch of a good player and left Sheffield players in his wake
BUT
pass the ball son .3 or 4 occasions he could have put McCormick though in goal and the near post effort had awful if he took a look up there were players waiting in the middle
Feel sorry Gollini with the sliced clearance but we knew it would happen typical villa
I liked Westwood and Gardner putting I hard tackles in the opening 5 mins we never had that last season
Captain Elphick is a giant of a captain
Liked what I saw and it proved we can play at this level
Sheffield were lucky to have 11 on the pitch the barge in baker was NFL not EPL
A couple of results against Luton Rotherham and Hudderfield
Will put us on track.

Great to see Dr. Xia at the game yesterday.
I just hope he allows RDM the funds for the 2 quality midfielders and 2 quality forwards that we clearly need.
We lack drive and penetration from midfield and McCormack and Ayew ( if he stays ) need assistance .
Quality costs lots of dosh Dr. Xia!
Here's hoping that we can soon bid farewell to Westwood Cissokho Bacuna Agbonlahor and Gestede. Simply not good enough. I'm worried about Gardener too.

I think villa need another midfielder a ball winner and another striker . westwood hutton cissiko gested gardner are not good enough . when amavi grealish traore green al start villa will be much better . its only one game an we deserved a point thought we were better team second half . i still think we will be in play offs at end of season . up the villa.

I was quite pleased until the gifter goal, we dominated second half in their back yard and should have 2 up at one stage and bear in mind they are one of the fancied teams. Need to replace a few in particular Gestede and Westwood, then i don't see us losing many more.

up untill the mistake by gk i thought we played ok but even at this level mistakes will be punished ayew an mcormack need to play as a 2 ruddy is poor in my view if i was rdm i would play 4 4 1 1 mcormack had his chance an blew it forristari put his away but over all happy 45 games left 28 wins to go up tough task but do able but players should have been brought in earlier! roll on the next game.

It wasn't a mistake from the keeper really? The striker in a one on one situation is always expected to score so you can't put the blame on him. I think you slightly too negative about the performance. Second half we were the better side and were unlucky not to come out with any points in the end. UTV.

Gutted how many more times do we have to take a boot in the balls. no matter what we did always had the feeling weds would score. we had a better team sitting on the bench.
serious doubts about gestede. cissokho poor as was westwood but biggest of all was gardner awful.
hate to say it but if we don't get going teams like norwich will be well out of sight before long.

Can't go by the opening week, we lost to a team who nearly got promoted last year. Newcastle lost to a team who nearly got relegated last year and have just lost their striker. To us.
Anybody can and will beat anybody this season, should be exciting!
