Wish people would get off hogans back, saying his crap. If you look at the intelligent runs he makes it's not his fault that the midfield are that crap at playing a ball through he must be going mad. Until we get a proper number 10 then just lay off the bloke.

Can't see anyone on his back, just people who don't have excuses for him anymore, he missed two sitters yesterday, the service was there, the finish was not. Call it how you see it not how you want it to be, we all want him to succeed, no ones on his back.

Strikers do miss sitters, have seen Ronaldo and Messi fluff it.
Agree with Mainbob and Smudge, midfield is useless and has been for a very long time.

But if the midfield create chances for him and he doesn't score, how then do the midfield still get called useless and Hogan doesn't have to answer any questions? Am I missing something. Hogan was useless Saturday, he made runs, got the ball half the time, first touch wasn't good enough, couldn't hold it up and didn't take easy goal scoring chances - No matter how much you dislike the midfield they are facts, always an excuse, always a scape goat to protect the players people like.

He didn't have a target man at Brentford, he is a quality striker and we saw that Saturday with the positions he took up, the way he skipped passed his man for his first chance, once he gets one he'll be off. However you can't deflect the blame, Saturday he should have scored, twice. No matter how awful we were in other departments, judge him on what he did Saturday and some of the blame has to fall at his door, along with gabby, Lansbury and Green - the other players who wasted good chances.

I think we have to draw some positives out of that performance, remembering we were with out Kodjia, Adomah, and Jedinak who were arguably 3 of our best players last year. Add to that Jack's absence and the fact that Onomah trained for half a day with us, I'd say the performance wasn't too bad. If Green and Onamah start the next game we will be a real threat, and then look who is still on the bench in Hourihane and Thor, I think we are looking prety good.

I agree there are positives to come from the game,
But
But don't forget hull had many of there best players missing due to being sold!
They had a few young kids I never heard of on the pitch,
What disappointed me the worse is the second half cave in just like last season,
I still think Bruce should get 15 games and if we are not around the top 3 then I would question if he is ever going to take us up,
But that's only my opinion as I'm not a Bruce fan but was always going to give him a fair crack at it,

I thought we looked really good in first 45 yesterday. But I also thought hull looked very poor.

Second half, hull looked better, and we looked lost.

Until the window closes things don't settle down, but I do think that was a game we should be looking to win, and we threw 2 points away. Rather than got 1 from a promotion contender.

I love hogan. But was really disappointed in him yesterday.
Thought bacuna was the same as always. Average.
I think whelan had a very poor second half.
We look great defensively, but struggled to attack, and being brutal, we looked desperate towards the end!
I actually quite like samba up top, and think I read some where he started life as a striker. so maybe something in him there. but pointless him winning everything, if players around him can't read the game.

Gabby. scored his goal. What he is there for. But apart from that? He is lazy. He makes a Joachim, or vassel look intelligent!

The lad from spurs was quality. And how green isn't first name on the sheet is anyone's guess.

We had Thor on the bench. quality, goals and creative. how does Lansbury play?

I'm a Bruce fan, as we know. but that wasn't good enough. By September they need to be fit, and they need to be ready. For me, they where neither yesterday.

Agree Flackie but greens miss was bad tho mate i love him but them you gota score but yes should be starting. Bacuna and lansbury wrong choice for me. He brought hourihane but don't play him I don't understand why. Bruce needs to know his best team playing bacuna is a joke mate.

Agree hogan was useless, but because he scored goals at Brentford all you hear is "hogan is so hard done by he doesn't get the service" blah blah blah, he missed two one on ones yesterday, couldn't hold the ball up and his first touch was abismal. The young lad Onomah looks so aware and had vision of everything around him, but did look like a player thrown in after 1 days training, given more time the little balls he was trying to slide through will be coming off. Bacuna offers energy but not much else however fans booing him off is the reason we are always going to struggle, how are the players meant to perform when the fans behave like that, so embarrassing. Should of been 3/ 4 up after the first half and we'd be sitting here praising Bruce's tactics, blame falls at his door for not changing things earlier in the second when hull came back into it, but we lost because of the lads who consistently couldn't finish golden chances.

I agree with you, except on hogan.
I do think he is quality, and will prove it. It's a typical striker point. until he scores, his confidence is non existent!

I've never understood booing! Especially dying a match. At the end, there is an argument. but even then I'm not convinced.

We missed so many chances yesterday, it was laughable.

Don't get me wrong I think his a good striker, an when he gets going we will have another kodjia on our hands, consistent goals. But yesterday he was awful, however all the twitter fans etc make their mind up how people played before the games even started, and all you read is "if we give hogan the right service", He had the service yesterday and he messed it up, however on another day he could of easily scored all of them with his ability.

we are crying out for a target man to get the best out of hogan. he can't hold the ball up and looked a shell of the Brentford striker yesterday. should of been 5 goal winners though in that game and I did take positive from the game. I thought gabby did ok tbh tacked back and worked hard while on the left. started to look tired in second half but so did most of squad.

Brentfords whole team was built around him. he won't get that at villa. we need to play a system that helps him though hence target man alongside him.

First game out the way, we should of won the game easy the chances we missed were bad my wife could of scored, i think it proves we need another striker who knows where the net is . i think green should start every game for me. its a good point but feels like a loss.

We should have won after a decent 1st half,
But once again we sit back on a lead and hull were all over us like a rash,
Only until when green came on did we get going again,
Why he was left out is anyone's guess,
Now we go to Cardiff and neil warnock?
And with our appalling away record that is a must win game for me,
Get out the prayer mat!
