03 Aug 2016 23:26:15
Jedinak has been offered a kings ransom from a chinese super league team, so time will tell if football is his first love, as a side note pardew said last season he's a good player, but questioned his ability to keep up the intensity to play a full 90 minutes at a high level, and also for game after game, bearing in mind the amount of games we'll be playing this season its a fair question to ask, how many games can he play before the red zone rule applies, i think he would do a very good job for us, but i believe rdm is a big believer in sports science techniques, wait and see i guess-but again, henry lansbury maybe?

03 Aug 2016 19:41:50
just a thought, now we got 'mac the knife (coz he cuts teams open) I think we should go for kodija., hence 2 quality strikers up front, kodj to occupy the defenders while mac the knife can exploit the gaps-simples., diame gone why not go for henri Lansbury, and loan them the sludge in the bomb squad, clear the atmosphere surely-even if we subsidise their wages.

03 Aug 2016 21:38:19
Jedinek would be a good signing and ravel morrison and asmomalonga or kodjge villa would definitely finish in top two then.

03 Aug 2016 22:10:17
Not too sure about Morrison, no doubt has the talent but he's a bit too much of a loose cannon.

03 Aug 2016 22:34:33
we need midfielders ones that will actually close teams doen that's our biggest problem from last season i hope we get a scrappy midfielder to replace gueye.

03 Aug 2016 17:51:04
Any news on Villa listening to the fans on Jedinak? Is he free? Great signing if it comes off, hopefully Richards, Lescott, Hutton, Sinclair and Bacuna to go soon and Replacements in.

03 Aug 2016 18:45:26
I think this guy is our missing link.
If we do sign Ross, we are not far away. But we do need a general in the midfield. This guy ticks the box for me, goals, tackles, experience.

If not him, for me, and trust me, it does hurt to say, but Charlie Adam.

03 Aug 2016 19:03:55
Get 'em both

UTV.

03 Aug 2016 16:23:08
Accuse me of clutching at straws (Mendax in particular) but there's talk of Big Ben going to Hull on loan, given the choice, even with them being in the Prem, don't you think he'd pick us instead of them if we tried for him? Benteke and McCormack up front, GOALS GOALS GOALS!

UTV.

03 Aug 2016 17:24:27
I agree with the last bit mate but can't see it happening in honesty
I don't think Benteke sees himself playing anywhere other than the top league
But, as is always the case with these things, I hope you are right and I am wrong, if only for the novelty value of that scenario
(I'm joking by the way)

03 Aug 2016 17:40:27
Fair play Mendax, you nearly half agreed with me on something for a change lol 👍🏻

UTV.

03 Aug 2016 18:04:15
It can happen mate. I suppose my problem is I tend to respond to posts I don't agree with much more than I do to posts I do agree with
"I'm a Stroppy Git" would be another way of putting it.

03 Aug 2016 18:31:42
I don't think he will end up at hull. (Why would any sane pardon look at them at the moment, they are in such a mess! ) And if they are the only competition for his loan signing this year, I would fancy our chances!
However, rumour here is that the swans want him.
Pains me to say, but he is a perfect fit for them as well.

03 Aug 2016 18:33:39
*person! (Pardon!? ) ed, sometimes you can edit! Starting to think you leave my typos in to make me look more stupid! Jesus! (Ed01!)

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure even I could manage to do that mate!}

03 Aug 2016 18:40:54
How rude! Lol.

{Ed001's Note - the truth often is mate. ;-)

03 Aug 2016 18:50:37
Isn't it funny how your opinion on people can change so quickly!?

{Ed001's Note - awww mate, I know you love me really.}

03 Aug 2016 18:58:02
Shhhh mr potato head, (irishvilla) will get jealous!

{Ed001's Note - does he not know about us then???}

03 Aug 2016 19:07:07
Errr. 😳.

03 Aug 2016 15:46:09
Does anybody else think we just robbed the bar codes
Been from Ireland I watched clarke closely at the euros to be honest I taught he was shocking
Always out of position jumps into a tackle there is just always a mistake in him
To be honest I think he wanted to jump ship to much computation in front of him.

03 Aug 2016 16:03:26
I agree mick, even at his absolute best you always felt there was a blunder just round the corner from him

Was also absolutely shocking as a holding midfielder v blues, an I mean shocking!

03 Aug 2016 16:41:23
I do agree, However, he always gave 100% and never hid.

Of all the useless crap from last year, on my list to get rid of, he wouldn't of been near the top,

I'm not saying he would be in my starting 11, but I wouldn't mind him on the bench.

03 Aug 2016 17:27:29
The litmus test for me is to answer this question
If it were the other way around and Clark had been at Newcastle all his life and played the way he has for us, would you be excited at the thought of signing him from them?
No, neither would I.

03 Aug 2016 18:29:13
That's a good point mate.
What I'm trying to say is though, I don't blame Clarke for where villa are, as I think he always played with his heart, and to the top of his limited ability.
And with him being the first outfield starter from last season to be shifted, it looks like we hold him high in the blame charts.

I wish him well, and personally will applaud him back at vp.

03 Aug 2016 18:41:05
Absolutely Flacke
I'm not slagging the lad off. I just think he's a bit limited
I wish him well. I can't stand this trend for booing any ex-player who comes back
Only a few really deserve that kind of treatment.

03 Aug 2016 18:54:11
Me either mate.
I can see an argument for it in the 90 mins, although more often than not it inspires them to give 10% more!
But before, and after most of them should get standing ovations. Once a villan, always a villan in my book.

Unless your name is Fabian. 😡.

RDM will play Baker at CB with Elphick which I agree with. Gardner has more to offer than Westwood and how have you forgotten about Bacunas last year antics? Hutton to start everyday over Bacuna at RB for me.

03 Aug 2016 11:47:53
A question for all villa fans? Man United are buying pogba back chelsea want Lukuku back. if Aston Villa could bring one player back now who would you bring back? Just a bit of fun people. UTV.

{Ed001's Note - you know the answer will be Benteke!}

03 Aug 2016 11:59:30
Ashley Young in his prime.

03 Aug 2016 12:02:19
Juan Pablo angel. and his son for that matter.

03 Aug 2016 12:07:16
Dwight Yorke in his pomp.

03 Aug 2016 12:18:15
all great players but are you all forgeting god? that's who mine would be oooh rrr Paul McGrath. intresting answers tho if Ross McCormack is worth 12 million now days how much would a juan pablo angel be worth or a paul mcgrath or even a ian taylor?

{Ed001's Note - Paul McGrath! He was incredible. One of the best players ever to play the game.}

03 Aug 2016 12:19:23
Mark bosnich.

03 Aug 2016 12:50:24
only one answer as far as i am concerned Paul McGrath.

03 Aug 2016 12:56:30
Gareth Barry an surely would be possible.

03 Aug 2016 12:56:30
Angel, or McGrath

Bosnich?! Lol.

03 Aug 2016 13:05:51
The best player we've ever had
If you don't know his name you are on the wrong site.
Paul McGrath.

03 Aug 2016 13:07:12
Bosco Balaban.

03 Aug 2016 13:11:58
Mellberg or a fit Laursen or both if we can be greedy 👍🏻

UTV.

03 Aug 2016 13:47:44
Savo for me if only for the laughs I've never laughed so much down VP watching him play.

03 Aug 2016 14:01:18
McGrath is the obvious choice. However, if you are asking who I'd have back right now who can still kick a ball, then look no further than Benteke back on loan for this season.

03 Aug 2016 14:16:29
all round legend? hard choice but i'm thinking must be one the big 3 defenders mcgrath, mellberg or laursen - yorke - petrov.

if your talking a player we could at a push drag in on a loan or buy right now? big ben - ash young - barry - gardener.

03 Aug 2016 14:23:45
Tony Daley Mr 100 miles an hour, and he could cross a ball.

03 Aug 2016 15:14:22
Andy gray peter withe Gordon cowans Ian taylor all of these in there prime lol.

03 Aug 2016 15:38:58
Bosnich
mcgrath and laursen at cb
Daily and petrov young and millner
Big Ben and?
Who to partner him with
Yorke or angel
Looking back we had some pretty good players.

03 Aug 2016 18:44:21
How about Tom 'Pongo' Waring, 50 goals in the 1930–31 season, 49 of them in the league.

03 Aug 2016 11:46:05
As a replacement for Gueye and a lack of agility in midfield, what about Lewis Cook from Leeds? Championship young player of the year last year so he would be worth it at the right price IMO.

03 Aug 2016 12:55:48
He's already left Leeds? Did he go to Bournemouth?

03 Aug 2016 12:57:23
I'm sure he went Bournemouth few week ago.

03 Aug 2016 13:05:29
My bad I hadn't noticed, would have been a decent coup then.

03 Aug 2016 14:55:05
Jelanek from palace please.

03 Aug 2016 03:03:04
I really think Charlie Adam is worth a punt.

03 Aug 2016 00:46:45
it would appear gentlemen we have agreed to sign mcshortmack. apparently more signings on the home straight. I might just crack a cheeky smile and have a babysham!

03 Aug 2016 01:14:47
I have got the beers out fantastic news. now you know what we need? wingers to supply our great strikers because i belive rudy justhead is good aswell but we need to create more chances. grelish is a attack mid not a winger bennett would sort the left wing. i would like to see what this greens like but things are looking up ok we lost clark an gueye to pay for them but both are average at best. The Aston Villa check book is officially open! HOOORAAY HIP HIP HOOORRAY!
