My Citeh mate says there are strong runours in Manchester that Delph failed his medical.
Sour grapes? Or a legacy of his old injuries?

I've seen this rumour floating about online, not sure how true, hope it isn't and that he just had a change of heart and realised he would be jeopardising his England place. Now we can move on, well chuffed kozak played and scored today, great to see him back in the claret and blue

{Ed007's Note - It sounds like sour grapes to me but I'll try and find out from Ed002 if there's any truth in it.}

Can't see how a regular player would fail a medical ( I suppose it's possible)
However, anyone else find it odd that Lerner was in town and he changed his mind?
Maybe Lerners had a word in his ear, hopefully good times around the corner for us fans with regards to a takeover

I read somewhere earlier that Delph changed his decision because of fan threats, I think this is just gutter press and I don't think that was his reason for staying as I suppose most players that leave a club receive a certain amount of unsavoury comments.

I very much doubt that it would have been because of fan threats. If he was worried Citeh,s owners could afford bodyguard for him! As for the comment "cant see how regular players would fail a medical", if that were the case, why would clubs spend so much money and effort putting players through them if there were no chance of failing them?
I think we should just take it at face value that FB looked at his options including money, playing time, England prospects etc: Weighed all that up against leaving a club he likes and is respected as a player, (and maybe knows there are brighter days ahead for us), and chose to stay.
Well done him because you can be sure the advice from agents would have been to leave. I am delighted he is staying, we were definitely a better team when he was playing last season.

1st time poster, give Delph more money, scrap any buy out clause, build team around him, Richards, Clark, Guzan (not getting credit he deserves, form is temporary, class/desire is permanent) Grealish, Tekkers or Austin, good spine of team, thinking of probable buys for other positions, waiting for takeover 1st. What does everybody think?

Guzan
Walker Richards Clark Gibbs
Bacuna Gueye Delph
Chery Grealish
Tekkers or Austin

I'm with you Chrisavfc, Hutton was very solid last year and up there towards our player of the season till he tailed off imo

I've just spoken to my Citeh mate, travels everywhere with them, has some limited insider info. He says that Delph has been told he'd only be a squad player, to expect the same sort of game time as Milner thereby risking his England Euro place- just about the money!
My mate says that Delph did us a favour signing up at Xmas or he'd be gone for nothing!
