Apparently someone's having a medical. Was tweeted by a former employee at 8:00 p. m, don't think she would lie.

Believable5 Unbelievable14

What's the former employee's twitter then.

Agree7 Disagree5

Who tweeted?

Agree5 Disagree5

He's a Russian striker called kerzachov and is supposed to have best strike rate in Russian history!. Lance ITK

Agree5 Disagree9

Lisa smith preparedpr, I think his French.

Agree3 Disagree3

Who's HENRI SAIVET?

Agree5 Disagree5

We'll no inns but could be blue nose! So keep positive and get behind the boys!

Villa are 1 of the 6 teams to enquire about Ross McCormack.

Believable1 Unbelievable11

Highly doubt it since Lambert left Villa Park like 6 hours ago, and we have around 10 players who can play in ST already.

Agree2 Disagree7

I hope so would be a good edition send helenius on loan other way

Agree2 Disagree3

Lambert and physio's have travelled to Merseyside, yes. But McCormack won't be able to travel the country in the next 2 hours for a medical anyway so there could be an alternative to a medical at bodymoor Heath!

Agree3 Disagree5

31 Jan 2014 15:50:40
Badger trust me no villa signing at a All

Believable15 Unbelievable1

And to make things even worst west brom have bid for hoolahan aswel. looks like its going to be another nervy end of season. most the clubs below us have got players in today so let's hope the team can pull together again and keep us out of the relegation zone

Agree3 Disagree5

Ssn Hoolahan to Baggies on loan?

Agree4 Disagree3

Norwich turn down cash for Hoolahan but accept a loan offer. If this happens then it shows how pathetic Norwich are. Wouldbe embarrassed to be a Canary!

Agree4 Disagree3

Lets hope next season there isn't villa fans like YOU. all teams have bought below us, so what! we are better than the teams below us. Lambert is doing a great job, he said he would improve us ever year and he is. it would of taken another 5 games for us to get to where we are now if it was last season. now either wrap up or go and follow SHA.

Agree9 Disagree9

Well we did say if Wes left us it wouldn't be to Villa, the West Brom deal is not agreed either

Agree3 Disagree3

Cba. gow is lambert improving us every year? wer lucky to be in tenth place and trust me if we finish in top ten I will aggree that there has been improvement we have the worst midfield in the prem and have done for last couple of seasons. fact. and without improving we will be dragged further dow

Agree6 Disagree7

Worst midfield in the prem? Delph has been phenomenal this season, and still has a lot of potential, and may get an England call up after the world cup, Westwood had a good season last season hasn't been the best this season but has a lot of potential and could become our creative midfielder, El Ahmadi is having his best season with us this season and still has a chance to get better. Sylla is a solid rotation option hard tackler like Delph and has no fear. Gardner has a bright future if he stops getting injured and should be in the squad in the coming weeks, Johnson is also a good young talent but I think he's been playing for our reserves for too many years and will probably be sold in the coming years, Herd can play in a lot of positions but his best is probably behind the two CMs where Westwood currently plays, and he's a decent rotation option, Bacuna N'Zogbia Clark and Tonev can also play in CM and all are decent there, so for you to say we have had the worst midfield in the past few seasons is an absolute joke, I agree we need to sign one, but we definitely don't have the worst.

Agree9 Disagree8

Mate on paper qpr's team is better than villas. Some of our 1st teamers like baker Clark El hamadi an few others on bench wouldn't get in any other prem team lamberts made some shocking signings. I wonder if houllier was still here what kind of side we would of had

Agree6 Disagree9

Villa to sign Messi! Just made that up! I went to the same media school as king villa!

Agree10 Disagree3

Clark and Baker aren't 1st team players. They are only playing because Okore is injured, Guzan Bertrand Okore Vlaar Lowton Delph Westwood El Ahmadi/Gardner Agbonlahor Weimann Benteke is a solid team and we don't really need to panic buy anyone, next season we might have Guzan Bertrand (Open to a permanent deal and we will have the money at that time) Okore Vlaar Lowton Delph Westwood Gardner/New CM Weimann Agbonlahor/Grealish (Amazing potential) Benteke with good rotation options such as Clark Baker Luna Sylla Kozak Helenius Albrighton Bacuna etc.

Agree0 Disagree3

Deadline day and there's always someone who panics and signs anything that moves regardless of how good or bad they are - this year it seems to be Fulham and Palace who have brought in about 8 players each. While I wouldn't advocate us doing that, who have we brought in today? - absolutely no one. Surely Lerner could have bankrolled one decent signing to get the fans excited, preferably a midfielder who doesn't play for Norwich. I have never known a more boring deadline day from our point of view.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree4 Disagree2

Our team has plenty of room for improvements and is far from a solid team. We should always be strengthening. I'm beginning to worry that some villa fans are becoming happy with mediocracy.

Agree4 Disagree3

I think it's more like Mr. Lerner who is settling for mediocrity and without any financial support from the top the Manager is having to do the same.
With all the money washing around at the moment in football, particularly in the Premier League it wouldn't have hurt the Chairman to have given Lambert a decent amount of cash and told him to buy a really good player to ignite the season and get the fans excited but no - he couldn't be bothered.
I actually feel sorry for the Manager. Lerner obviously feels we are safe from relegation this season so to hell with the 36 to 40,000 crowds that are turning up every week. What do they matter? I used to have a lot of time for Lerner but not any more.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree4 Disagree3

On a different note, which three teams would other supporters like to see relegated this season?
My three would be, in no particular order Norwich City because they are a small minded bunch of country bumpkins with ideas above their station
Stoke City because they are a vile club who everyone hates who should have gone down years ago and
West Brom because they are West Brom. What other reason is needed?
Clarrie Blue.

Agree3 Disagree5

I think Norwich, because I see them like Wigan, should of gone down years ago and somehow keep scraping relegation, Stoke because out of the bottom 5 I think they have the weakest squad considering all of the other clubs have either strengthened or currently have a better squad than them, and any of the 3 teams that came up last year, Hull, Palace, and Cardiff, although I want all of them to stay up as they have made good signings and have good squads, I think that Fulham West Ham and Sunderland have much stronger squads.

Agree4 Disagree6

How can you say Norwich because they should have gone down years ago? We owe so much to Paul Lambert, he is the reason we are premier league, and we have only been here a couple of years! if we manage to keep in the prem then we do deserve to be here. I am was gutted to loose Lambert as a manager an suggest you get behind him as he will eventually bring you the success you all desire. 99% of Norwich fans wish he was still in charge of us.

Agree2 Disagree5

The striker Fulham signed is class

Agree0 Disagree4

My word there are many regular posters on the site who should hang their heads they know they are listen guys you've been found out all full of red bull****!

Agree5 Disagree0

31 Jan 2014 12:19:14
Anyone else heard we're close to signing Fabio Quagliarella?

>Scg87

Believable8 Unbelievable14

Nope I've heard Fulham interested not us

Agree2 Disagree7

They have just said on talksport we are in for him

Agree5 Disagree6

Will happen because of osvaldo going to juve from saints

Agree1 Disagree6

We are getting him on loan until sampdoria get him for free in the summer, they don't want to pay the fee to loan him. expect him and a young player from Holland to be arriving before 11pm

Agree3 Disagree7

According to Sky he was off to Monaco earlier, but I don't know if this has changed due to Berbatov's possible move.

Agree2 Disagree4

Lambert has left bodymoor heath on the coach with the rest of the team headed to merseyside.
so I guess its lights off.

Agree7 Disagree4

Lambert has spent far too much time on trying to get this Hoolihan deal sorted out to the exclusion of averything else it seems. The man is no great shakes anyway so I don't know why Lamert is so obsessed with him. We have needed a good creative number 10 for ages and the manager seems no further on in bringing one in. I despair.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree7 Disagree3

He's on his way to Morocco.
'

Agree1 Disagree5

Lambert is at bodymoor Heath trying his hardest to get 2 players in chaldi from spurs and lescott

Agree2 Disagree9

Rubbish. simple

Agree3 Disagree4

31 Jan 2014 09:54:57
Hoolahan 100% staying at Norwich. This was the only signing lambert was really going for. Don't expect any ins at VP today, only outs.

Believable15 Unbelievable6

Well as Norwich weren't going to do business, why didn't villa just move on, instead of dragging something out that was never going to happen

Agree9 Disagree4

Lambert is a person if he thought norwich would change their mind and sell him to us! I stil hope he gets a decent midfielder in but not holding my breath. think its time for pl and lerner to piss off

Agree4 Disagree5

I wouldn't say that Lambert should 'piss off', we are in 10th place and much better off this season than last season. We aren't that far off 8th place either! I think that Lerner is trying to sell us.

Agree10 Disagree2

Yep I agree come the summer I think we will be sold

Agree4 Disagree6

We will be sold in the summer, he lost interest in us, just like the Cleveland browns

Agree6 Disagree7

I hope he does sell up but only to someone decent who will spend the money needed to get us into Europe.
Not sure I can see it happening though.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree4 Disagree2

I think the media was trying to do the Hoolahan deal more then Villa. I think we tried to get him on the cheap didn't work and the media just went to town with it, knowing all the history behind the two clubs.

Agree4 Disagree4

Clarrie blue,
That's the worry, if Lerner does sell then let's hope he sells to someone who has respect for our club an fans and not just looking for another toy or to promote other business or looking to drain the club of its assets like Gaydemak an Tan

Some fans think that another owner will solve all our problems but they don't think what if we get the wrong person who has no good intentions.

Just about The only good thing Doug Ellis did for villa was find a good owner in Lerner, I hope Lerner will do the same when the time comes.

>Scg87

Agree8 Disagree2

31 Jan 2014 01:34:22
Pl will sign 3 players today with 2 going out. The outs will be Hutton to west ham and bowery on loan to a league 1 team. The ins are Hoolahan for 1.3 mil clasie for 5.5 mil and a shock signing of kagawah on loan from man u. :))

Believable1 Unbelievable17

King villa you talk s***e, we have waited for 2 years for a number 10 and you think lamberk will sign 3 in 1 day! Get real

Agree10 Disagree3

Never fails!

Agree6 Disagree3

Kingy you beauty! The others might knock you but I reckon you are secretly Lamberts alter ego.

Agree4 Disagree6

Kingvilla this stuff isn't even funny anymore, stop lying on here it's boring and annoying

Agree12 Disagree2

Have you ever got a transfer story right? Shouldn't we go for Kagawa rather than Kagawah? ;)

Agree4 Disagree3

Ha Ha priceless

Agree1 Disagree5

Kagawa would be amazing, but i'm going to be the party pooper and say it's not going to happen. I hope i'm wrong though

Agree2 Disagree6

At last you post about the transfer deadline day. I thought that you had left the country. Don't believe a word of your post but love your imagination. If these come off we will know that you are really Paul Lambert!

Agree2 Disagree3

I only come onto this site during transfer windows, because of all the rubbish written, Kingvilla's rumours re-affirm why!!

Agree2 Disagree2

Fabio Quagliarella, apparently Lambert has approached Juventus over his availability, do we really need ANOTHER striker!?

Agree4 Disagree6

You promised you would never post again king villa, i'm looking forward to the next crazy rubbish you come up with

Agree4 Disagree2

Although King Villa should be called Kings Jester, his actually part of what makes sites like this interesting even though we all know 99. 9. 99%is false.

I do wish that PL craze of such an overrated player not a even a CAM but a converted average winger who can't make the 1st team of a less than average squad is just a nightmare, and the only truth is that 11pm 31/01/14 shall bring is the news of Clasie @Villa park. we hope

Agree3 Disagree3

I heard the same about Quagliarella signing for us

>Scg87

Agree1 Disagree4

Cheers for the daily laugh

Happy Chinese new year messages from the Villa Stars.
Could be nothing or could be the DWG takeover I told you about the other day. Anyway just had to post something to get the Clasie rumour off the top. Did anybody notice the Chinese advertising on the pitch side boards.

Believable4 Unbelievable9

Ahhh maybe when david cameron met up with them last year he asked them to get involved with his beloved club.

Agree4 Disagree5

How many have we signed now? King villa tell what to expect as I need a laugh!

Agree5 Disagree2

How's this for a laugh, I was in Asia watching an English speaking news channel to catch up on Saturdays Villa result (pre mobile and Internet era) when the football segment started I told everyone to be quite so I could see how we had done, only for the female presenter to to refer to us as Astro Villa. Never lived that one down.

Agree3 Disagree3

Seven in the summer and two so far this winter.

Agree1 Disagree5

No more signings coming this window. Possibly Bowery going back to Chesterfield on loan

Agree4 Disagree5

Larry Ellison to buy the villa, 80% done deal aslong as villa stay in the prem, getting rid of lambert, Ellison 5th richest man in the world founder of oracle worth nearly 50 billion.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's never happening and he rumour was started by some no-mark Man $hitty fan on Tw@tter. 99% of the stuff on Tw@tter is garbage, just edging it from SSN who sit on 97.3% but remember their sole aim is to entice gambling on their info/stories.}

30 Jan 2014 01:01:29
Clasie spotted in the crowd last night? Have seen a few places report this now, Bowery also going out on loan too aparently.

Believable8 Unbelievable16

Where.? what reports? This would be the best signing ever, even better than when I signed the divorce papers! Classie is class his potential is actually overwhelmingly disturbing.

The perfect fit, an astonish raw prototype CM that can easily become our AM maestro

Agree4 Disagree6

Where have you seen this?

Agree8 Disagree3

And where have you heard this? Nowhere I've seen has this been mentioned.

Agree8 Disagree3

Like the? After your first sentence. You really don't know. Oldvillan

Agree8 Disagree3

Its been on forums, villatalk? Twitter too

Agree2 Disagree11

Looks like he's on the move, his agents have met with Benfica already apparently, no real reason why he's not on villa's radar? Don't say lack of money because Lambert said last night 'he's working on things: or words to that effect.

Agree7 Disagree7

29 Jan 2014 16:39:52
All over twitter Villa are in for a Dutch defensive mid, also so called insiders say they're is money if a perm deal comes about, just not looking to pay huge loan fees on players ect Zaha, Ince, Lescott.

Believable4 Unbelievable10

Holtby can leave for 8-10million would be a great buy for us but can't see it comin off

Agree15 Disagree5

I never knew Hoolahan was dutch, maybe from his moms side of the family.

Agree8 Disagree4

Which dutch defensive mid are you referring to?

Agree2 Disagree6

Load of bull, we can't have any more loans from over here so the bit about high loan fees is a joke.

Agree5 Disagree3

Holtby will go to dortmund

Agree8 Disagree4

Holtby is dortmund-bound

Agree11 Disagree4

Loads of people don't seem to know this. It's loans from the same division, not country, so we could get another loan in from another premiership club.

Agree4 Disagree8

Absolute lies again
Nothing on twitter why do some of you lot bother posting absolute bs
Common anybody got any genuine rumours?

Agree11 Disagree2

We can loan two players from the English League not the same division, and as we already have Holt and Bertrand we cannot loan another from either the Prem or Championship.

We can however have as many loan players from Europe as we like, however I am not entirely sure how this would apply to the 25 man squad limit.

Agree5 Disagree3

Don't know if this has been posted but the Mirror and Birmingham Mail mentioned PL was weighing up a deal for Midfielder Eunan O'Kane at Bournemouth.

They mentioned his performance against Liverpool, although I would be disappointed if we bought on the basis of one performance, especially as you would expect players to raise their game against higher league opposition.

Given PL's transfer strategy - he is only 23 and plays in a lower division, I wouldn't be surprised to see him at VP (if another team doesn't dig deeper first!).

Agree6 Disagree6

Its Jordy Claise

Agree4 Disagree6

2-0 after 8mins? sorry but we are the worst team in prem and are going down

Agree0 Disagree13

Um pretty sure it's 2-2, keep believing

Agree7 Disagree5

3-2 up now woop

Agree7 Disagree1

Hello 3-2 almost four don't run before you can walk

Agree6 Disagree4

3-3 dear oh dear ho dear we are crap

Agree1 Disagree12

4-3 sunshine, and if your that fed up why follow us, keep the faith

Agree12 Disagree3

Yeah like you were saying that after 8 mins

Agree8 Disagree3

As there was still 82 mins left so I hadn't given up like some, we should enjoy a massive and much needed win

Agree8 Disagree3

I always had faith :) good win but defence will be strengthened when okore returns. Would love to see gabby played in cam he recently stated he sees himself playing there eventually.

Agree2 Disagree4

I don't even think the back 4 was our problem against WBA or Liverpool, it's the midfield who are like statues when we don't have the ball that is the real problem.

>Scg87

Agree9 Disagree3

Gabby play CM? That's a joke right?

>Scg87

Agree8 Disagree2

Gabby CAM, what a joke! You need touch, vision and awareness. As much as I like Gabby, he has none of these. Also "I don't even think the back 4 was our problem against WBA. ". Are you having a laugh? Did you see Clarke trying to defend against Anichibe? Far too tight every time, exactly like the game Everton game a while ago at Goodison. He won nothing in the air and got rolled/out musceled everytine. He has learnt nothing. And Lowton was worse than useless. Delph and Westwood worked tirelessly. However, Ahmadi is terrible. He must have pics of Lambert in a compromising position to keep getting picked!

Agree2 Disagree4

WBA caused us very few problems problems in regards to the back 4, they've actually put in some solid individual performances the last 2 games.

The problems were when WBA had so much time an space on the ball 30-40 yards from goal an that's the midfielders responsibility.

Westwood an Delph stood around watching brunt an Morrison jog past them, if Delph an Westwood actually tried closing down an win some tackles then the defence wouldn't be left with players running directly at them, no defence at that level can be put under so much pressure without buckling at some point.

Although I'm not KEAs biggest fan, the one thing he must be given credit for is his aggression and willingness to make tackles, the amount of times KEA would close down make a tackle an then turn around shouting as to why he wasn't being backed up was laughable.

Delph is good going forward with quick feet an agility but he's not contributing enough defensively an Westwood looks so lazy an unwilling to make a challenge that we are so easy to play through.

All our defensive issues stems from our poor midfield.

Wes Hooligan fee agreed.1 million and wages 25,000 a week. fair play to the lad as he was rumoured to be on 40,000 a week at Norwich.

Believable3 Unbelievable22

Not true

Agree9 Disagree3

Load of rubbish, , dream on he's staying at Norwich

Agree4 Disagree9

O. K. then give us Delia instead.

Agree4 Disagree3

What do you mean "Dream on"? It's more like a bad dream. I just can't understand why people are so desperate for us to sign this guy? He may play in a position in which we are crying out for someone, but he can't get in a Norwich side that are below us in the table and have scored even fewer goals than we have! He has managed only 7 games in 6 years for what has been a very average Republic of Ireland side. He maybe the type of player we need, and I realise the financial constraints we are operating under, but surely as fans we should be setting our sights a little higher. In my opinion Norwich are welcome to keep paying his rumoured £40k a week wages to sit in the stands.

Agree11 Disagree5

I don't think any villa fan would see Hoolahan as an ideal signing but he is better than what we have so in our desperation we'll take him.

An only because he don't get first teams for Norwich I wouldn't take that as a sign of his ability or lack of ability, I mean Hughton don't even like picking hooper for gods sake so I think the issue is with the negative manager.

>Scg87

Agree8 Disagree3

No chance he was on £40 grand a week at Norwich.

Agree3 Disagree1

MOST DRAINAGE RUMOUR OF THE DAY!
Arsenal want Draxler £36.8mill & Benkeke (£25mill plus NB)

£25mill plus Nicholas what bulls%$t

Believable2 Unbelievable12

I think Wenger has been promised 100 million to spend on players if he signs a new contract.

Agree4 Disagree5

25m and. Bentner, that means they value Big Ben at 30m as bentner is worth f a to any club. How many goals has he scored, is he in the top 100 of strikers? Take it to the marines as the saying goes.

Agree5 Disagree3

29 Jan 2014 06:01:01
The Rumour on the grapevine but with no endorsed source is that PL on recommendation from his scouts as well as Vlaar is after Jordy Clasie said to cost £6.5mill.

I know sceptics might say that other better team in the ECL maybe a more likely destination or we need a CB/AM, however the fact is that PL see him as a player that could easily playthe coveted No 10 Position with the added tenacity and ability to defend from up the field/superb passer/can score and reads the game well

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Rumour on the grapevine? More like it was posted here a few days ago.
Three things wrong with this,
1 he won't come on loan, and we're not spending.
2 he never played for Norwich.
3 he's names not Hoolahan.
Look mate were not buying anyone so just enjoy tonight's game UTV.

Agree7 Disagree9

You have to say to yourself - who saw us being able to buy Okore? nobody! So let's hope there is some truth into the Clasie rumours.

Agree8 Disagree4

Would like this one to happen but if i'm honest I can't see lerner putting has hands in his pocket for us any more think he lost interest in the villa so won't expectany marque signing

Agree4 Disagree6

Okore and the rest were bought for season ticket sales, especially after Sylla and Steven Hawkins were the only winter additions. (remember how badly we needed help back then). I don't think they are too concerned about season ticket sales at this time of year hence the two loans so far.

Agree5 Disagree6

Lambert has a very good poker face, if there are any players in the pipeline we won't know till they are done, prime example Ryan Bertrand no one on here saw that coming

Agree8 Disagree3

Yeah and also no one on here saw Simon Dawkins coming last season.

Agree7 Disagree2

Why do people use their depressed preconceptions to make assumptions? We won't sign this or that because boo-hoo everything is terrible. Doesn't go with the evidence that when Lambert really wants someone there is usually up to 6-8m and a decent contract. Okore, Vlaar, Benteke, Kozak and bids/enquiries for Kiyotake/Defour/ many other decent players who are KEY rather than filler.

How's this for a juicy rumour, it came from a solicitor that has acted on behalf of someone at Villa regarding their dealings at Villa Park. This could be corporate or functions i. e property auctions, wedding receptions etc. He reckons that Villa are about to be sold, so nothing new there as we've heard all this before, Red Bull and Qatar? Well no, he says it will be DWG. Who? Dalian wanda group a Chinese consortium led by Dalian Wang ( chinas richest man ). O. K so its from a solicitor which means its probably bull but guess what! Our P. M. Recently met with Dalian to get him to invest in our country which I believe 3 billion pounds has been earmarked. Could it be he mentioned Villa? Strange how the official site mentioned our growing popularity in China this week.

Believable8 Unbelievable7

Another take over story, but as we have all gathered Lerner wants to sell, just wish he would hurry up

Agree10 Disagree4

I think you will find that he is wanting to buy a football club, but has spoken with Southampton! Value £175 million

Agree2 Disagree11

Is this the DWG group who have just categorically denied any interest in Southampton. A club in a better position, with a better playing staff and manager, available for less money (arguably)?

Agree4 Disagree11

Hi Mendax you have to look at the big picture Villa better buy than the saints villajk

Agree7 Disagree4

Well the spokesperson said the Southampton takeover was 'purely imaginary and inconsistent with the actual facts. ' Actual facts meaning that it is another premier league club? Possibly us?

Agree7 Disagree3

Sounds like a load of wang

Agree6 Disagree5

Aston Villa will be hosting a "chop stick challenge" on the eve of the West Ham game, part of the Chinese new year celebration. you see we are the twelfth most popular club in the far east.
lets hope the organisers realise it the year of the horse and not donkey.

Agree4 Disagree3

Hi Villajk. I see where you are coming from but I don't think these guys look long term
As we sit tonight, we are very much in the relegation mix this season
Nobody is going to buy us while that is a possibility

Read that a radio station in spain reported villa are looking at Roaul Loe for around £2mil after WH pulled out of a deal for him.

I'm hoping this is true, I think he'd add steal to our midfield.

Anyone heard any rumours on this?

Just heard we are talking to Wes Hoolahan, he better be good if he comes UTV.

Believable11 Unbelievable4

We can't talk to him without havin a bid accepted

Agree8 Disagree3

Not quite right, we are talking to his representatives not him as that isn't allowed without Norwichs permission.

Well somebody is talking to Villa about him coming UTV

Two Norwegians will be signing before the end of the window.

Markus Henriksen and Harmeet Singh.

Believable6 Unbelievable11

Is henriksen still at AZ? if so then can see this one as a possibility as he has been a good player in the eredivisie for a while now even though he is still young and not played for 1 of the top 3 dutch sides (as far as I know!), maybe he wants to step up his career a bit further now, who KNOWS? ;)

Agree1 Disagree5

Strange that Lambert has said he doesn't expect anymore signings this week.

Agree4 Disagree4

Didn't he say that last year?

Oldvillan

Agree7 Disagree1

I, m affaid that's our lot holt and bertrand, doesn't exactly get the pulses racing does it. what happened to this dynamic number 10. didn't david cameron want to play.

Agree6 Disagree2

Yes he did say that last year and he wasn't lying.

Agree4 Disagree2

That's funny as the reports I saw yesterday said he is still looking.

Agree2 Disagree5

I'm looking but I don't expect to find much activity at VP.
Saying that I want to see some action and hope that Lambert has something in the pipeline or we may be in another struggle for survival.

Agree6 Disagree3

He said he's still scouting for people but not expecting anyone to sign.

Agree8 Disagree3

Lambert is very good at hiding the truth

Agree3 Disagree3

Or a very good liar.

It's not Henrikson we're looking at from AZ, it's johann gudmundson

27 Jan 2014 21:06:34
Jeffrey Bruma is apparently a target now that Lambert has poured cold water over a Lescott loan deal, the big surprise this window is that Villa want to strike a deal and bring Jordy Clasie to VP - if it comes off it'll be the big marquee signing Villa have been deliberately denying will happen, Zaha was enquired about but wages were a problem, same scenario with Lescott.

Believable7 Unbelievable12

If Zahas and Lescotts wages were too high then who's paying Clasies wages? You! I thought not, marquee signing my a**e.

Agree10 Disagree5

Well if this is true would be fantastic, good attack minded Dutch played, can play centre mid or behind the striker

Agree9 Disagree5

Clasie would be a great signing, fantastic passer an is an aggressive type CM so would improve us 10 fold.

Can't see it tho, he'd certainly have clubs who are in the CL looking to sign him

>Scg87

Agree10 Disagree7

Villa still after a couple more on loan but it's becoming difficult to pull off as a few teams are after the same targets. Randy will not give Pl cash as he is definitely looking to sell villa ASAP. Redbull still in the market for us even though it's been said they are not. They always come out with these things to drop media attention and then boom. There is also interest from a qutar group and they have watched a couple of games but I still think Redbull will happen myself. Let's hope the cash comes in and we can be a top 4 force and win things.

Believable5 Unbelievable12

If we do sign anyone else, we will be the last to know about it, lambert is good at keeping things close to his chest, I also believe we will be sold in the summer, whether it's to red bull or not we will have to wait and see

Agree7 Disagree5

If we are in for loans then they will be for players outside the English league, as Premier League clubs are only allowed two loan players at any one time.

As we have Bertrand and Holt, the only way of getting Ince for example, would be to buy one of them - I don't think any of us realistically thinks this would happen, especially as Chelsea want Bertrand back.

Agree6 Disagree5

{Ed001's Note - actually Chelsea are willing to let Bertrand go, he was offered in a part exchange deal for Shaw before the season.}

Enough of this being sold soon please. Lerner paid 60 odd million and has invested a further 160 million bringing total investment upto 220 million or there abouts, upto the last published accounts we are still running at a loss so maybe with all the bomb squad gone ( they haven't by the way ) we might change that trend. As Lerner isn't exactly short of a bob or two he will won't near enough his investment back or otherwise he's austerity measures will start recouping rewards as long as we stay in the premier league.
AVFC is probably worth 80 million as some would argue our squad is worse than when Lerner took over and the actuall ground and training facilities are now seven years older. So unless someone is stupid enough to pay three times what were actually worth then we are stuck with Mr Lerner and his cost cutting measures. If the figures are to be believed Lambert has already more than slashed the wage bill and even our academy players who are on high contracts are being pushed out or have already gone were as academy players who negotiated contracts at much lower terms are being kept. Fonz vs baker, Bannan vs herd, etc etc.
I can see continuing in this manner for at least another seven years until Lerner has recouped most of his loses and can then sell AVFC for the actuall market value.

Agree6 Disagree8

Market value of £80m? Where did you get that from? Man City were sold in 2008 for £210m, at a time when arguably they where in a similar position as us just finishing mid-table, but with a much higher wage bill. Also they didn't own the ground and the training ground had not been modernised. I may be wrong, but I think they also had quite large debts the time. Another similar team, Newcastle, where sold in 2007 for £135m, and again they had big debts as well. Since then TV revenues have gone through the roof. Fulham were sold last summer for over £150m To be honest, I would have no idea how much villa re worth

Agree7 Disagree8

Sorry, the last part of the post should have said "I have no idea how much villa are worth, but it is a lot more than £80m, but based on the previous sales £220m is probably not a million miles away"

Agree7 Disagree5

Man city was a one off as it was sold for 86 million a year before. Crazy billionaire hell bent on success.
Newcastle was an error of judgement from Ashley as he wasn't aware of just how much debt was involved and has admitted if he could get 263 million he would sell, one year later and still no takers.
Fulham is a strange one, Shahid certainly looks eccentric and maybe it's the London thing or maybe Al Fayed used the Arkright shop sales technique on him.
Twelve months ago Lerner and Faulkner were in Paris having talks with QIA, a year later still no takers. Maybe my 80 million value was way off the mark but it's been at least a year we put it out there that we are for sale and so far nothing but Red Bull and the Qataris. Well the Qataris (QIA) have had a year to think about it and Red Bull isn't a one man decision, they will have a team analysing everything and I don't think they will match Lerners value whatever it is hence Houliers statement.

Agree4 Disagree4

Ed, re: Bertrand, I meant it was unrealistic to expect us to buy him in this transfer window as we would have already have done it. If we do buy him now to get an additional loanee this would suggest our transfer strategy was either not thought through, or an exceptional value for money player becomes available.

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed001's Note - if he is on a buy to loan deal, you can then get another player on loan. No need to buy him now.}

Liverpool were sold for 300 million, probably 200 million worth of players on the books and better history (most of their champions league winning team are still playing wear as our lot are withdrawing their pensions). Massive world support.
Still think we are worth 220 million?

Agree4 Disagree12

Fair point, however the Liverpool owners were virtually run out of town and forced to sell, which probably deflated the price. In fact they took legal action (admittedly unsuccessfully) over the sale as they argued they had been "swindled". Also, the new owners knew they were going have to invest heavily in the ground, which would also have impacted the value. If your argument is that as Liverpool were only worth £300m therefore Villa must be worth less, you must also therefore agree that as Fulham were sold for £150m that Villa must be worth more? On that basis £220m doesn't sound unreasonable.

Agree9 Disagree5

Lol
Villa only worth £80m?

Villa's revenue last years was more than £80m and with the increase of the tv money we're expected to be making close to £100milion in revenue within the next 3 years and will be in the top 30 richest clubs in the world based on revenue so to say the club is only valued at £80million is nonsense!

An the clubs facilities might be over 5 years old but there still amongst the best in the world.

Then the land that the stadium an training grounds are built on are probably worth £100m or more so Lerner would have to be a fool if he considers selling villa for anything less than £200m and a fool Lerner is not.

>Scg87

Agree11 Disagree6

Come on mate it's Aston not Chelsea, would you want to live there? Also our last three published accounts have shown loses of 22million on average per season. With most of the high earners gone we will be lucky if we break even, add to that the raise in sky money I think Lerner with use the extra income to reset the previous loses. In the mean time we all complain about the quality of players were buying, we are in fact the template of normal. Those clubs smaller than us who are buying better players on higher wages need to look at our recent history, we've made those mistakes and are now paying the price.
I'll put this out there, what if we were to be bought out by Sky, I mean they're already keeping us afloat with reported 90 million a season t. v. Payments just double it and bobs your uncle. After all we are the oldest named club in the league.

Agree7 Disagree11

KingVilla are you absolutely mental? Aston Villa is the oldest name in world football. There is no more traditional club going AND YOU WANT TO SELL TO RED BULL? We will be Red Bull Birmingham (city is more marketable name) and their previous acquisitions show they try to ERADICATE the former history of the club they buy (Red Bull Salzburg lost kit and founding date 1937 to 2005). You would do that for a pot of gold? Ridiculous. I'd rather see Villa in League 1 than lose everything I love for short term success.

Players out

Ireland - free
Hutton -free
Albrighton - loan
Weimann - Tottenham - 4.5m

Players In

Holt - loan
Bertrand - loan
Lescott - loan initially perm at end of season
Hoolahan - 2m
Dembele - loan initially perm at end of season
Jelle vossen - 11m

Believable5 Unbelievable17

Dembele I really doubt he'll come to villa, I'm a bit bored of the hoolahan link now, Norwich say no deal so let's move on, weiman won't leave lambert likes him to much, just wish he could finish a little better,

Agree8 Disagree5

Explain Weimann to spurs? They want to qualify for CL football and people who pay attention would of figured out we have Holt and Bertrand on loan already -_-

Agree4 Disagree3

Tom ince is either joining us or Swansea on a season long loan

Agree4 Disagree9

{Ed002's Note - He is out of contract in the summer.}

I would have Bertrand, Lescott and Vossen at the end of this season.

Agree3 Disagree3

Ince is apparantly going to norwich on loan so we can have hoolahan, I know which of the 2 i'd prefer an says everything about our ambition

Agree2 Disagree6

Ed when you say Tom ince is joining us or Swansea what team do you mean.

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed001's Note - he didn't say that, he just said he is out of contract in the summer. Meaning the team taking him on loan will almost certainly sign him at the end of it.}

I think he meant the poster stating us or swansea.

Heard a strong link to Bibras Natkho on a free transfer. 25 years old similar player to Mata, would be a good signing.

Believable14 Unbelievable6

Tbh never heard of him but if he's an amf and you say "like mata" il have some of that in the side

Agree8 Disagree4

My mate's got a beard. a bit like Mata

Agree15 Disagree2

He's a quality player and his contract has been cancelled so he's free to sign for anyone. He's a deep lying CM, not really attacking mid but can play their, more of an all round CM. he can pick out quality passes and unlock defenses and would be perfect for Villa. rated at £10m as well.

Agree3 Disagree8

Not sure about this rumour as he has been linked with CSKA and VFB Stuttgart - was one of the better midfielders in the Russian League before his contract run out.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Spuds have also been linked with him.

Agree4 Disagree4

A £10 million rated player who is out of contract and subsequently able to demand a massive salary?
Yeah, Randy will be all over that

Agree4 Disagree5

Why was his contract terminated if he is valued at £10m? If he is that good teams will be queuing up, and we will be at the back of it.

Agree2 Disagree3

{Ed007's Note - His contract wasn't terminated, it expired and he turned down the offer to extend it.}

Just read on the METRO that PL has enquired about Leigh Griffits from Wolves! Hoping this isn't true

Believable8 Unbelievable5

{Ed007's Note - I'm a Celtic supporter AC and we have been linked with Griffiths for a while but the rumour has gathered pace the last week or so. I would be delighted if anyone besides Celtic signs him! As far as I know Griffiths is desperate for a move back to Scotland but Celtic haven't even enquired about him and Hibs can't afford him. He rarely trains with Wolves and spends most of his time up in Edinburgh and trains with Hibs.

Why would we be interested in him, CD and AM urgently needed, Lescott and Defour please UTV.

What a good window that would be then fingers XXXX

Agree7 Disagree3

Defours rumour back strong again, loan with view to permanent summer move the most likely, lescott would be awesome though good bit of power to compliment vlaar

Agree8 Disagree3

Ed -like most AV fans I desperatly want him to stay as far north from birmingham as possible - dingle town is to close!

Agree4 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - Hopefully neither of us will need to face the reality of signing The Thumb.}

I've seen Griff play a few times this season and I think he could do well in the PL. Ed what is it about him that everyone dislikes? Attitude?

Agree2 Disagree4

{Ed007's Note - His ability, his attitude, his off-field behaviour plus he is far too ugly to be allowed to wear the Hoops.... I could go on but he's not worth it.}

Ed, can you not expand on that? I, ve seen him and he has abit of pace, good movement and a fine turn and shot. To say he is ugly is a shocking reason not to rate him.

Agree2 Disagree4

{Ed007's Note - You asked a question and I answered it. His lack of ability, his general attitude and the fact that he is a chav/ned is enough, that he looks like a thumb is just a bonus reason not to sign him. He's a racist, a deadbeat dad and has been done for shoplifting, and that's only the stuff that has came out so far in the press about him. Did I mention that he looks like a thumb as well? For you to say he has a bit of pace, good movement and a fine turn and shot is shocking! I take it you are a Wolves fan?}

No Villa Fan mate, who just wanted a rounded view rather than a dig at how the kid looks. If he, s a racist and all the other things you mentioned then I agree who want to him?!

Agree0 Disagree3

{Ed007's Note - He's an idiot off the park mate, maybe it only came out up here but if you Google him it's all there. I thought it was all common knowledge that's why I just jokingly brought up his looks, it was a bit tongue in cheek. I really don't rate him as a player though, fair enough he will do a job for lower league teams in England and teams like Hibs up here but for a team looking to move up the EPL (Villa) and a team playing in the CL (Celtic) he is nowhere near the level they need.}

Cheers Ed, had a look at him, seems a nightmare.

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - Sometimes players just aren't worth the hassle and I put him in that category. The only reason Wolves used their option to extend his contract was to make sure they get a fee for him.}

I just had a read on the guy, he nutted his manager and assistant manager at hibs, makes Roy Keane look like a pussy cat

VILLA LATEST RUMOURS CIRCULATING.

Three out Three in.

Buying: Liam Moore/Tomas Rincon
Selling: Weimann to THFC, Bowery CPFC/LCFC
Loan Out:Gardner/Tonev
Loan In:Kakuta or JM Dongou

Good times at VP are on the horizon.

Although the board were initially hesitant over Jan purchases, they have decided that if the right players can be brought in now then it would give them time to embed further during pre-season, with only one or two players being brought in in the summer.

Ed is there foundation to any of this stuff?

Believable2 Unbelievable19

{Ed002's Note - Kakuta yes. Weimann I don't think so. The others?}

You missed out villa re-enter lescott race

Agree5 Disagree13

The striker that Spurs have inquired about is Bent not Weimann.

Agree12 Disagree10

If it is Bent that's great less than £10 cab fare away £1. 5 bargain, the new manager will do an Emmanuel resurrection act with him,

If it's only get in Lesscotchta & Kakuta no complaints here, there are also rumours that PL has revived the Defour link as the players would much prefer to play with Big Ben than the link to Fulham

Agree7 Disagree3

Kakuta from Chelsea? On a permanent I assume as i'm sure rules state you can't loan two plyers from the same club? a lot spoken of this kid but never really had a crack at the top level.

Agree7 Disagree8

Weimans not good enough for us let alone Tottenham

Agree8 Disagree11

Surely it isn't weimann spurs want he is a terrible footballer! I remember kakuta making his chelsea debut about 4 years ago and he looked awesome, scored a goal, great tricks, very quick and direct would be a great signing and would easily get in our line-up ahead of weimann. my honest opinion is that we MIGHT get 1 more in, no more.

We can sign Kakuta on loan, but the rulings mean we have to have an option to buy him permanently.

IMO we have to many of them as it is

Domavfc89

We have no outstanding wingers, in fact we lack width and end up with our centre mids filling in the gap out wide when we play 3 in the middle of the park
distant villain

Agree12 Disagree4

Aston Villa are working on an ambitious move to sign highly-rated Barcelona striker Jean Marie Dongou on-loan for the rest of the season.

Hope so UTV

Believable8 Unbelievable11

We have too many strikers already, I really don't see the point in this.

Agree4 Disagree10

{Ed001's Note - you are in talks with Spurs over selling them a striker (I think Weimann), maybe a replacement?}

I really hope we wouldn't be stupid enough to sell Weimann (Or any of our strikers) and sign an unknown in, especially when it's so tight in the bottom half at the moment. Yes he has been not up to the standards of last season, but he is still a good player for us.

Agree7 Disagree6

Spurs want Andi? they'd have to cough up £10m in my view to make letting him leave possible - especially in January.

City have released that young Norwegian lad. Lambert is aparently having a look

Agree2 Disagree4

If this actually true I'm so excited as this is true talent. I lso love the the tomas rincon rumour on this site as I'm sure Ed can confirm he would fit wel into our stye of play and would marshall any EPL top 4 midfield he was said to be the only player that had Messi in his pocket all game WOW!, check it out on youtube

Agree1 Disagree1

Apparantly gael kakuta is being looked at for a loan deal from chelsea. I wouldn't say no to that at the moment because it seems like pl has been banking on hoolahan a bit too much I just hope he's got a plan b as I can't see norwich backing down

Agree6 Disagree6

Abdisalam Ibrahim (the young Norwegian) has signed for Olympiakos, according to his twitter, so if PL's was looking at him, I rather doubt he is any more.
Would love to see Ravel Morrison at the Villa. A great talent if he can be kept on the straight and narrow. Lambert could get the nest out of him.

Villa to make 2 big moves next week and try to sort deals for defour and morrison. Randy Lerner wants to sell and a deal is close with red bull but they have said it's dependant on villa being in the epl so Lerner will spend around 15 mil to sort both deals.

Believable6 Unbelievable18

If Red Bull haven't noticed we are in the Premier League, if your talking about next season then a deal isn't close as Lerner will renegotiate in the summer. You see if a deal is close then it's as is, what next Red Bull insisting on a sell back clause if we get relegated in the next three seasons?
Lambert has said no interest in Defour and I don't think Ravel has the experience he said we are looking for. If anyone it's Hoolahan.
Finally staff at Villa Park said the guests being shown around at the Arsenal game were Arabs.
In summary your post is complete Bull.

Agree13 Disagree5

Nice to see all your hard work is paying off kingvilla, Just been speaking to paul faulkner, it seems he is interested in making you head of public relations, well done son.

Agree7 Disagree4

I actually can't see us signing anyone else, randy is tight with the money these days.

Agree5 Disagree6

Not going to get a sniff of Hoolahan, his transfer request has been thrown out If Norwich do sell it won't be to Villa to much bad blood between clubs and if he is sold it will be more likely be for around £4mil

Agree5 Disagree4

4 million for a nearly 32 year old with only 18 months left on his contract?
I don't think so. The million and a half we have supposedly offered is too much really.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree9 Disagree2

Norwich are just messing us about because its PL, Norwich would have to be stupid to reject a close to 2m offer for a 31/32yo who is only warming the bench. They'll let him go

I'm surprised Lambert isn't going for Pilkington tho, younger, only 6 months left on his contract and probably better than Hoolahan.

>Scg87

Agree8 Disagree3

Im a big fan of Pilkington but I don't know where he would play as the wingers we use were all originally strikers with the exception of Albrighton, Pilkington just isn't clinical enough

Agree2 Disagree6

Well, do Norwich need the money? No I think not, Lambert up to his old tricks, have a read of the telegraph, Norwich will rather loan him to Birmingham city

Agree4 Disagree6

All prem league clubs need money as they most run up a debt. Hoolahan has stated he doesn't want to play for Norwich anymore so they r better off getting rid. If it was any other prem club offering the same money they would sell. Only reason they won't is cus its Lambert. Playground stuff really!

Agree7 Disagree2

Hoolihan would not go the the dark side of the city, even on a loan.
Norwich will concede if PL keeps the pressure on them providing the price is right.

Agree4 Disagree3

Go and take a look on the pinkun web site there you will see a topic with the heading Bad Blood between Clubs, It was written by a Norwich insider, he is Mick Dennis he's often on tv and sits with the directors home and away, read what he has written you will see Norwich will not sell to Villa and anyone else it will cost £3mil+

Agree2 Disagree3

Few bits of bull in this thread.

Norwich ARE debt free, and have been so for 12 months + - well documented in the press.

Norwich have also made it clear that Hoolahan is NOT for sale this season, and would not be released to any club that they are in competition with; Not just Villa, that is any of the bottom 10 clubs. - Why would you give an advantage to your opposition? be stupid to do so, especially for the £750k that has been offered. - It's all PL mind games, with Hoolahan the mug in the middle.

Agree3 Disagree4

Again hearing rumours of Scott Dann being mentioned around VP. Porto yet to decide whether to sell or loan Defour. Looking at Defour, Hoolahan or kigowa of Man U if mata does go there pushes him even further down ladder.

Believable5 Unbelievable13

Defours agent was at Fulham today so may be out of the question, kagawa like young carries to higher wages, only logical solution is hoolahan

Agree12 Disagree4

It may be Tomas Rincon as he will give the formation flexibility and defensive solidarity,

Agree5 Disagree2

If United pay Kagawa wages we can take him, we have one loan left in PL and one foreign loan!

Agree2 Disagree8

I'm sure that if United agreed to loan Kagawa to another Premier league club the least they would expect is that that club would pay his wages. They certainly wouldn't be willing to carry on paying his wages for us. Get real.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree5 Disagree1

Why would Kagawa come to us?
He'd have so many clubs after him who are in Europe or even clubs who are competing for their league title, theyd be no reason for him to come to us.

Less than a million is his true worth at the moment.
Also, you can be sure that the one player we will NOT be selling in this window is Benteke so give it a rest.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree2 Disagree2

Diame has a £2.5m release clause doesn't he?

Agreed we are well off for strikers but this would be a great signing if we could pull it off. A mobile goal scorer who can play all along the front line and another gem from Genk.

Ashley Young to return to Villa Park, the deal said to be worth around £8million or £9million.

Believable8 Unbelievable18

I honestly cannot see this happening, as his wages would make it impossible

Agree13 Disagree3

I wouldn't want him back for 4 million let alone 9 million.

Agree17 Disagree5

I would take him back as he would definatly add something to our team but as above said his wages would be too high so think this one is a no go. I just hope lambert has got somebody in mind now the defour link has crumbled. we need a decent midfielder who can pick a pass rather than the usual lob from defence to benteke (other than 45 mins against liverpool)

Agree7 Disagree6

I'd take him back tomorrow. Ashley Young providing crosses/free kicks/corners to Benteke instead of Albrighton/Tonev/Wiemann/Westwood etc etc. Absolute no brainer. Having said that, it will never happen due to his wages. I also seriously doubt we have £9m to spend, and even if we do, it won't be spent on someone who will be 29 at the start of next season, with limited/no resale value.

Agree9 Disagree6

I don't want a diving board installed at villa park

Agree14 Disagree4

He not welcome back to villa please don't let this be true

Agree8 Disagree3

He can't take a free kick or a corner and his deliveries are awful. Everyone says he his good at them things. Just watch his corners next time he plays, front post every time, can't get it above the first man. And his free kicks go in the second stand every time

Agree10 Disagree4

Young himself would never agree to come back to Villa for two basic reasons.
One, he left us to supposedly better himself so he would see it as a failure on his part and two, he knows what sort of a reception he would get from the crowd.
This move will NEVER take place.

Believable4 Unbelievable23

Maybe Hoolahan but I don't think anymore now that the Qatar lot were at the Arsenal game, why would Lerner spend if he's not into it anymore. Qatar delegation were seen by staff members (the arab looking ones).

Agree6 Disagree7

I think its just a matter of time untill we get sold

Agree10 Disagree1

No chance of Hoolahan moving from Norwich - he's on a mega deal there with 18 months to run. plus Norwich board have said consistently that they are not a selling club.

Believable15 Unbelievable3

I do hope that's true, more funds freed up

Agree16 Disagree2

Should try and get ravel Morrison in a exchange and cash deal.

Agree10 Disagree7

Are West Ham deliberately trying to get relegated?
First Roger Johnson and now Hutton. The mind boggles.
I didn't think that even Big Sam was that stupid.

Seeing story about Thomas Rincon from Hamburg, linked to Villa €1. 75m Anyone got info on this? Any good? Oldvillan

Believable10 Unbelievable6

Would bring a calm head in midfield, co captain of national team, good tackler as well.

Agree9 Disagree2

You cannot disagree. It is in print in a hamburg paper, therefore it is fact. Super sleuth.

Agree9 Disagree2

Also heard this rumour and would be a welcome addition to the team in my opinion.

Tomas Rincon is being chased by a number of prem teams. Swansea, West Ham, Norwich. I suppose out of all those he would come to the Villa. wouldn't he?

ASTON VILLA REALISTIC WEEKEND RUMOUR OF THE DAY!

1} Experience & Leadership of Thomas Vermaelen in on Loan as cover Okore to partner Vlaar

2} Wilfred Zaha deadline loan

3} Paul Lambert has also stated not much truth in the Defour link but has other options, he wants to make a two footed talented Attacking Midfielder CAM his Marquee signing as it could be his last.

But who? he has a rumoured £10mill to spend on him as the rest are to be loans Edz?

He also admitted to close friends his disappointment that his two left back purchases Luna/Bennett are yet to settle

Believable6 Unbelievable17

Why would you write realistic, this is far from being realistic

Agree16 Disagree3

Written for those that understand the term Realistic "Rumour", I personally agree and would be hopeful of some positive outcome, it may that this post has no real substance, but that's why it's called rumours and we love it when it concerns our club, especially if something materializes.

I bet you go onto Aston Villa rumours Now and why not? for the intrigue and rumour

Agree3 Disagree10

2 and 3 seem sort of realistic but if we do get vermaelen on loan, I will do a nude run at villa park!

Agree12 Disagree2

1}experience and leadership? Holt.
2}Bertrand on loan.
3}two footed CAM? Hoolahan for 1.5 million plus Hutton.

Agree11 Disagree1

How many players are we allowed to loan

Agree5 Disagree2

PL clubs are allowed to have 4 loan players (hence Ireland was signed permanent prior to the Guidetti loan at Stoke)

Agree4 Disagree6

You can only have 2 from premier league teams so we can have 1 more, and 1 more from out the premiership. Can not see the hoolahan deal coming off even with Hutton in the mix

Have seen a strong rumour that there is interest in ravel Morrison, but I really can't see Lerner spending the money, not when PL is happy with hoolahan, just wish they'd smell the coffee and realize canaries won't sell to us

Believable11 Unbelievable8

Morrison is available for £8m and I firmly believe if Lambert can handle him, would be a superb signing and a great bargain!

Agree13 Disagree6

This is pure speculation, he's just signed for West Ham and leptospirosis face it they need as much help as us.

Agree5 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - that has to be the best spell check ever! Now I just need to find a way to fit leptospirosis into conversation.....}

Well he only has 18 months left on his contract, he won't sign a new 1 as he wants to move on

Agree1 Disagree3

Haha ed, that blew my mind as well

Agree3 Disagree2

Ed I've got your conversation point. I drank water containing animal p-ss now I've got leptospirosis

Agree4 Disagree2

There was a rumour that if WH reject an £8m bid then they'd have to offer Morrison a new 60k a week contract so I can see him moving but would we pay him 40k a week which I think he would expect and would PL want a guy who's well known to be childish an arrogant?
I don't think so.

Just read all the latest news for today, seems we have bowed out of the race for Defour and Lescotts wages have shut down any deal for him, Lambert has said he has not approached kiyotake and refused to comment on Hoolahan earlier (probably because of the whole history with Norwich ect). Joey Barton and Kyle Naughtons name being thrown around a lot, can't really see Naughton as we have just signs Bertrand and Barton isn't really the type of midfielder we need, hopefully we sort an attacking midfielder and a centre back before the end of the window! Hope to see Benteke back on form tomorrow! UTV!

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Barton is exactly the type of midfielder we need! He has the fight and the eagerness and he would come with experience!

Agree9 Disagree12

Barton from what I've seen (I don't watch too much championship football) is a sitting midfielder, who occasionally goes forward, I wonder who that's like. DELPH! We need an attacking midfielder who can score the occasional goal and pick a good pass, a number 10 so to speak, similar to Coutinho, De Bruyne, Mata, lallana, Barkley ect ect! (Wasn't saying they were our targets btw just examples)

Agree11 Disagree4

In bartons last season at Newcastle he had more successful forward passes than any other midfielder in the Premiership. Some of his antics are bad but when we beat Newcastle 3 seasons ago he was by far the best player on the pitch. he is an attacking player

Agree3 Disagree3

He played at Newcasastle 3 seasons ago, players change with age, he is not a "number 10" so to speak.

Heard from a close associate to Marc Albrighton is on evertons radar for when his contract expires, wether or not he goes is a different scenario as he has grown up a villa faithful.

TaR

Believable8 Unbelievable11

Albrighton will not leave Villa. He will get a new contract and he will stay at the club he loves - Aston Villa FC.

Agree10 Disagree8

I didn't say he would go, I just claimed Everton expressed their interest in his services?

TaR

Agree10 Disagree4

Personally, I don't think Albrighton is going to cut it, I was a big fan but he's just not shown me enough to say he's going to turn in to a quality player.
Besides that I think we're paying him to much which I don't think he deserves, that's just one reason why I think he could be allowed to leave.

>Scg87

Agree13 Disagree4

Why would everton be interested they have just signed a winger in aiden mngeady and he can play on the right too before u smugly say he's a left winger.

Agree7 Disagree4

Because he demands low wages, is a good rotation player & Martinez has a track history to turn bargains into achieving starting players.

People only want to listen to what thy want to happen instead of actual rumors. The source is reliable. Marc is from the same hometown as myself & the source was contribute from his personal associate.

Believe what you want, IT MAY never happen but I know their is/has been interest. Maybe them signing McGiedy was the signal of the end of the interest? We will see

Kyle Naughton rumours are continuing despite us signing Ryan Bertrand. A fee of £2m is being quoted to bring in Naughton to challenge Lowton. Lowton can not defend and Bacuna is best going forward. We need a solid defensive right back.

Believable12 Unbelievable9

I think a new CB will be before a RB and lowton can defend just lost his form.

Agree18 Disagree7

Rumors will continue, Naughton right back and Bertrand left back is a big upgrade on Lowton and Luna.

Agree12 Disagree4

No chance, naughton is in the spurs team.

Agree4 Disagree14

I think we should stick with Lowton now, he proved last season he can defend so I think it's down to poor form and the face we're so bad at defending as a team just puts more pressure on him.

>Scg87

Agree10 Disagree4

Apart from Benteke, Lowton was or best player last season. Clearly something has gone on this season for him to lose his confidence so badly, but we should persevere with him. There are other areas of the team in far greater need than another RB.

Agree8 Disagree5

Lowton is one of our best creators which says a lot about the midfield area. Didn't really surprise me bentekes goal drought ended due to a lowton cross.

We have signed Ryan Bertrand on loan for rest of season, totally out of the blue (pardon the pun). very good signing please more like this UTV

Believable25 Unbelievable1

Finally a signing villa fans can be happy with. More please :)

Agree19 Disagree0

Good signing he's better than Luna. I hope there's a transfer fee agreed at the end of the season if he does well.

Agree15 Disagree1

Brilliant transfer, played at the top top level (champions league final) but why didn't we try and buy him? Are funds really that tight? Hopefully if he's successful he'll want to come back next season on a permanent deal! Now all we need to try and sort a solid experienced centre back and most importantly a creative, attacking midfielder.

Agree14 Disagree1

This is a great signing, top draw, his wages may be the reason it's only a loan deal, as he is on more than Steven defour which makes me laugh, Scott dann wouldn't be a bad move, he i

Agree11 Disagree3

Well great deal, that's our 2 loan deals, can only spend money now

Agree8 Disagree3

Mourinho probably wants to see how he progresses given constant first team football. Ashley Cole is nearing the end of his career and if they don't sign Luke Shaw, they will need Bertrand next season! Excellent signing though!

Agree7 Disagree1

You are allowed two loans from premier league clubs we only have one as Holt is from Wigan

Agree4 Disagree1

No chance of signing him permanently, we need to stop living in dreamland! Cole is likely to be gone in the summer, and they want Bertrand to get games so he can replace him. Good loan signing though

It has also been put to me that Lerner won't spend as if villa are still in the prem in the summer he will sell to red bull. He thinks these cheap bargain buys will do the trick. I'm not convinced.

Why haven't we gone for wolfsburgs Diego? Out of favour there and apparently available for around 1.6m. Shawtvilla

Believable14 Unbelievable7

Two problems with that, firstly he never played for Norwich, secondly it will have to be on a free with them paying 70% of his wages.

Agree16 Disagree8

Haha, yeah I think we all dislike the fact that PL is trying to turn us into his old Norwich squad, but we've got rid of irelands wage bill (which i'm sure was higher than most at villa park) would diego's be that much more that we can't grab a terrific bargin?. Either way we look at things we still desperately need an experienced central midfielder whether its a CDM or a CAM to provide that vital link between the back and the front

Agree11 Disagree5

Diego will be expecting big wages that's probably why we're not going for him.

Italian Media are saying Klose is a target

Believable4 Unbelievable19

All this talk of new forwards is a bit silly. We have enough good strikers but they need the service or they are not going to score goals. Our midfield is arguably the worst and weakest in the Premiership and THERE is where we need to be strengthening. Surely Lambert can see that. I even think the defence is good enough now as they are only conceding an average of around one goal a game this season which is far better than last seasons disasters but that midfield is just not good enough and we are going nowhere until that is rectified.

Carrie blue defence is ok seriously what planet are you on

Agree5 Disagree8

I'm sorry but we do need a new cb, vlaar is by far our best defender, but Clark is complacent and baker is brave but weak, okore won't be fit till April and even then it's a risk, we need experience back there not the young lad we have been linked with from Leicester

Agree7 Disagree4

Hi Carrie blue, We said that last year then shipped around 15 goals in no time at all.
Most of the time opposition strikers are in so much space that they can't believe the game is for real.
The back is like a leaky can.
How many times in the first few minutes last night did Giroud get a free header? Should have scored two well before they finally scored.
Baker is just ok, Clark is a liability but Vlaar plays out of his skin.
What planet am I on?
Reallity my son.
OK is not good enough for the prem. How many have we conceeded this season? You tell me.

Agree10 Disagree1

Old Villan. We have conceded 27 goals in 21 games which is better than over half of the Premiership so far this season, in fact it is the equal 8th best in the division which really isn't bad. If the defence wasn't put under so much constant pressure by a weak and inadequate midfield who cannot keep hold of the ball when it is cleared to them, the defence would cope far better but as it stands they get no respite and that doesn't help. A central defensive partnership of a fully fit Vlaar and Okore next season and you will see what I mean.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree13 Disagree2

Villa just need our own answer to Mathieu Flamini and a CAM. I'm sure Lambert will bring one in, but he's taking his time for sure!

Agree11 Disagree4

Now you are listing Okore that is a different matter. He is far better than either Baker or Clark. Such a shame that we can't get him back before late March.

Agree11 Disagree1

Clarrie Blue - there is not much the midfield can do about the ball flying over their head for the majority of the game, and unless they stand on Benteke's toes they are not going to pick up the second ball. The goal against Arsenal proved that once we get the ball down and play a bit and put quality into the box we can create but pumping it long every 2 mins is the problem and not really the fault of the midfield

Agree3 Disagree1

Our midfield worst in the prem they have one thing in common work rate that's it not a football brain between then villajk

If he scores goals I don't think any of us will care to much, can't see him starting to much tho

Agree6 Disagree2

Lets face facts we were never going to be in for anything other than a championship player or a prem player that is sat on the bench at best gone are the days when we will get anywhere near the top six and unless lerner sells up its going to be relegation sooner or later. bad times

Agree10 Disagree1

I just wish lerner would sell up. even doug ellis would spend some money if he was still the main man! this is seriously worryin

LERNER OUT NOW!

Agree5 Disagree8

Looks like the fat boy comes to town! Holt will put himself about and get space for others.
So Steer, Hoolihan, Holt, looks like PL is buying his old team. What a slap in the face for the Villa squad.
Could it be that PL is saving the pitance that SCROOGE is putting up for a "super buy?"
If Lerner is being that tight then again I state LERNER OUT.
Somebody else is stealing my objective.

Agree4 Disagree8

To be honest things are not as bad as they may appear. The defence is perfectly adequate when everyone is fit and Okore is going to be a great signing. We have a good bunch of forwards when they get the service. It is really only the midfield that needs sorting out and if that could be done then I for one believe we could easily challenge for the top 6 again. But that is the point - the midfield needs overhauling and Lambert either can't see it or Lerner will not provide the funds to do it. If he did, we would take off, I'm sure of it.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree3 Disagree9

Problem is, okore won't play for us again because by the time he's fit we will be in the championship and he is way too good to want to play in that amateur league. midfield terrible, worst in league, so why not sign grant holt?! (sarcasm, for those that didn't detect it. ) What on earth is going on, why another terrible striker who has scored 2 or 3 goals in 20 odd games for a championship side this season? there must be hundreds of midfielders that are better than the ones we currently have who would be available for a cheap deal or at least a loan, even the country boys managed a decent, cheap signing in jonas gutierrez who could have done a good job for us but it just seems like PL can't be bothered to have a proper look around for what we actually need! get him out, he lost the plot and his marbles a while back now

Agree5 Disagree3

No point looking around as Scrooge won't open his purse. PL is having to get whatever he can for as little as he can, and that means Holt on loan.
Let us give Holt a chance, he was electric at Norwich but Hughton changed the way they played and Holt was left on the fringes.
Not my preferred choice but in our situation I am going to give him a chance.
God knows we need any help we can get.
Lerner out.

Heard on the grapevine there could be a signing announced after the game.

Joleon lescott is oficcially a no no

Believable5 Unbelievable9

So that's 3 left backs that Lambert has bought in 18 months. 3 lots of wages and 3 transfer fees to satisfy one position
The wage reduction policy seems to be working well

Agree6 Disagree4

Naughton's a right back!!!

Agree8 Disagree3

He can play either right or left back, and he is better than Luna and bennet combined

Agree7 Disagree2

Naughton is a solid enough right back, but terrible at left back. We already have Lowton and Bacuna who can do a job there. 5 Mil is way too much for him. We could spend that on a decent midfielder.

Agree3 Disagree3

My point is more about the folly of our transfer policy. Bennet and Luna were both gambles which have not paid off. We now have to replace them because neither are good enough. Plus we have no chance of selling them on

Agree4 Disagree0

Naughton was a left back at Blades, with Walker at right back Spuds bought them both from under our noses when they were first noticed.

Villa have stopped Grealish re-newing his loan at Notts County and he will be back at Villa monday. Could be a new contract offer before he's sent back or maybe Lambert likes what he sees and might be ready to give him a chance. Be great to see him get a run.

Believable8 Unbelievable8

Its too soon for him. Having a blinding season at County. Let him finish the season there, get his confidence up and try him out in pre season, if it doesn't quite happen for him. loan him out to championship next season. The lads only 18. Give him a chance to some proper experience and get his confidence before throwing him in deep end

Agree5 Disagree4

We need to add experience to the first team and our youngsters need to be loaned out and built up before geting in to our first team squad, for this I do not think there is any one better then paul lambert, let's get behind the club and push it forward as we will come good! Look at all the teams below us and a win monday will no doubt bring a good feeling back to the club and if we can act to that win buy adding quality additions the glass will definatley be half full!

Up the villa!!!

He's back for the FA Youth cup game. will go back to County on loan after

ASTON VILLA FC NEWS!

Supposedly John Crew's Recommendation was an actual smokescreen, the actual player was Mohamed Elyounoussi very talented creative AM/FW £1.2mill this will allow PL the flexibility to still add experience in £7mill Defour with a possible loan for an international CB on the cards.

Doubtful if these will materialize, but hopeful

Believable12 Unbelievable2

Elyounoussi is indeed a talent, but I think what we lack of someone with a bit more proven quality?

Agree10 Disagree1

Is Defour still coming?
Most reports I've read seem to say it is definitely off.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree7 Disagree1

First rule of football "Don't believe everything you read in the papers!" Defour to be unveiled at the arsenal game!

Agree3 Disagree13

Defour won't be coming stop day dreaming

Agree10 Disagree1

I'd like to believe you over Defour but I'm not going to hold my breath.
Also think Lambert seems to be spending far too much time trying to sort out the signing of Hoolihan and putting other urgently needed business on the back burner as a result.
Clarrie Blue

Agree4 Disagree1

I'll eat my hat if defour comes. doesn't fit the wage structure, get real villa fans

finch

Agree7 Disagree2

Posted a few days ago that Defour is valued at £40m by people that know. Seems that we value him at £7m. That is why we can't get him.
If Scrooge won't open his purse he should go.
Lerner out.

Agree1 Disagree9

Well it was only in 1 paper I saw he was rated at 40m, all other reports have him available for 8m euros, also I've learned with pl until the players have signed villa tend to keep it quite hush hush

Agree4 Disagree1

I don't care what paper reported Defour is valued at £40m.

Whoever thinks that is a complete plank!

Porto will be lucky to get 7million euros for him.

Is mat Kendrick always right because if he is
Defour isn't coming

Agree1 Disagree3

Well we will have to wait and see what pl has in-store for us all. At least it looks like Ireland Will soon be off our hands

Agree1 Disagree1

Not sure why ireland is hated so much, he is still on our books and is actually our most creative force by a mile on his day.

Agree4 Disagree1

It's because he hasn't had his day in a villa shirt, it's just a shame he was brought in to replace Milner and he never could,

Agree1 Disagree2

Technically he wasnt brought in to replace milner - he was offered with funds to purchase milner - completely different types of players though so if you was expecting Ireland to be as hardworking and industrious as Milner was then he was never going to succeed

Hearing rumours about senegalise left back pape souare of lille making a premier league move to either fulham, newcastle or villa for around £2. 5-3m. A player within our budget and any left footed defender would be better than luna who is championship standard at his very best.

Finch

Believable11 Unbelievable4

I think Luna has been good for us at Lb, he picked up an injury which set him back a little bit but has been a huge improvement over Bennett (he is championship at best!)

Agree5 Disagree19

Luna has been mediocre at best. He still gets targeted as the weak link by teams. It's all well and good having solid attacking full backs but let's not forget defending is their main purpose. I for one would be happy if we bring in a solid lb and then maybe ship out Bennett on loan.

Agree18 Disagree1

Disagree, I think Luna is good going forward but defensively shaky, maybe he's still settling in and will come good, but I think Bennett is a little better than Luna and he puts in some good crosses, maybe that's what Benteke is missing.

Agree7 Disagree14

Luna can't defend, he's no better than benett

Agree13 Disagree1

Luna is an awful player, I sit in the stand on the flanks and he really is bad, his attacking is no very good either

Agree11 Disagree2

Bennett can at least cross a ball! As things stood, if Bennett was fit, I'd prefer him playing rather than Luna.

A few days ago I posted the rumour about AVFC being readied for a sale, well a follow up to that is apparently the RedBull offer was 180 million and not 150 million like first thought and and the asking price is nearer to 225 million not 250 million.
Randy is apparently here for a few weeks so I make that two apparentlys which could mean a change of ownership soon or nothing at all.
I think if Lambert is not given any money this window then it's pretty clear Randys not too keen on the Villa anymore. Oh and those saying we will buy on the last day of the window remember Lambert likes to get them in early.

Believable11 Unbelievable7

Where are you getting this from?. I'm not sure if all the IF'S came in what sort of stature Red Bull would want the club to be heading for, making profit? European places? Title contenders? Either way a change at the top would seem to suit the fans, it's so frustrating seeing players available or looking for loan moves and our name not being linked with them, Ince, Zaha etc
UTV

Agree7 Disagree5

Most of its from twitter and other social media. the bit about the stocks movement was from a trader again he tweeted this last week and which has since been confirmed on certain Villa forums.
the Redbull connection was from their press about buying an English team to invest in which could compete (advertise Redbull) in the champions league. lazy London media automatically presuming it will be a London club, and the current champions league teams are far too expensive.
the rest is my own research into potential buyers and sellers and common connection I. e. gerrard houlier connecton. nothing is from reliable sources as our chairman is very quite.

Agree5 Disagree8

Yeh to be honest if welcome that (reputable company doing well in other sports) over a cut-throat businessman looking for a toy, my friend is an avid Leeds fan, he's been talking a lot about red bull buying them out, and apparently they needed to own the stadium for it to go through, new guy has bought a bigger stake to own stadium so they might be going for them, I'd assume it's cheaper, although I suppose we can be classed as a sleeping giant? More attractive to take-overs I presume. Come on lescott sign already haha

Agree5 Disagree5

The leeds option was looked at last summer but they were too high risk as its champions league that's the target and this was felt is too far off i. e. signing new players to get to the premier league then adding new players to progress further whilst still balancing the last lot. with villa a big name manager and high wages would achieve the same much sooner i. e. Man city. add to this the training facilities are top knotch, then Randy has converted 90 mill debt into shares which balances the books.

Agree4 Disagree6

I don't believe anything regarding this redbull takeover bid

let it be known these are just rumours I hear. It's not like I'm running round the country looking for pro footballers heading towards VP. I just type what I hear. I'm skeptical on the Limbombe rumour, but apparently he was scouted whilst we were looking at Benteke. Hoolahan deal looks a bit odd seeing as he is on the decline. Hopefully Kiyotake might happen

Wes Hoolahan has handed in a transfer request.
Defour is in Birmingham Airport
Anthony Limbombe spoke to officials yesterday

VTID

only Hoolahan is definite

Believable9 Unbelievable19

True on defour

Agree8 Disagree12

Very much hope that means Defour is coming but Hoolihan is far from certain as it seems from reports today that Norwich have turned down our offer and refused to accept a written transfer request from the player, who apparantly wants to join us and link up again with Lambert.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree4 Disagree3

Limbombe has been mentioned on a few occasions now. Interesting.

Agree1 Disagree3

Alexberb1, you sounded out Limbombe a month ago now and you've told us today he's spoken to officials. Good work mate. Always reliable. Is it looking promising then? Hoolahan looking a cert and Defour, I'm still unsure.

Azza

Agree1 Disagree13

Check the NCFC website. There is a clear statement from the Chief Exec that no transfer request has been received from any player and that Norwich are looking to build the squad not sell any players.

Agree4 Disagree4

They'll be loads going on behind scenes, clubs like covering up their truths to keep it hush hush. got to be something in it

Agree3 Disagree2

Anthony Limbombe?
At the risk of repeating myself do we REALLY need yet another practically unknown foreign winger?
Surely we have higher priorities with our apparantly limited funds.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree8 Disagree3

I note that Liam Bridcutt, with whom we have been linked on numerous occasions in the past has today submitted a written transfer request to Brighton.
Presumably we can now expect to be linked with his signing in the near future.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree1 Disagree4

I like a good conspiracy as much as the next person. However, David McNally makes very few public pronouncements and when he does his track record shows he means it. So, when he says Norwich, ". …. have no intention of releasing any of our senior players. " I think you can take that to the bank.

Agree7 Disagree1

Norwich have apparantly rejected Villa's bid for Hoolihan as derisory.
It was reported to be either £750,000 in cash or £1 million in instalments.
Talk about trying to do everything on the cheap. This has the hand of Lerner and his don't spend a penny if a halfpenny will do policy all over it.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree6 Disagree3

Sunderland chasing Bridcutt, the manager knows the boy.

Agree4 Disagree1

The only trip to the bank Norwich will take is to bank the Hoolihan transfer fee.

Agree2 Disagree6

Bridcutt and Poyet supposedly have the same agent so that deal will fly through once fees agreed. Think its a non starter in terms of Villa trying to sign him.

Agree4 Disagree1

Also stated in the Norwich statement is Norwich will not be selling any player and refuse to do business with Lambert or Villa we are still waiting the out come of the Jed steer issue, So Villa fans in short you don't stand a chance Hoolahan still has 18 months to run on his contract anyway and From how the bitter feelings between our clubs mean Hoolahan is more likely to end up in the U21 squad for the remainder of his contract rather than let Villa have him, But as stated if any club want him it will cost £4mil Norwich have money to spend Villa fans must get rid of idea that we are Broke, Far from it, DEBTFREE and have funds available to use from last years budget ie £20 mil banked and another about the same to use now if required, if not it will roll over to the summer

Agree5 Disagree5

Maybe it has failed to cross your mind, but Norwich tried to block Lambert and Steer from joining Villa and they both left! I give Wes a week and he'll be in a villa shirt.

Agree2 Disagree5

With the hearing over Jed Steers' move to VP about to happen, and with Lamberts back against the wall, the liklihood of any deal being done between AVFC and NCFC is slimmer than a slim thing.

Has it occurred that Lambert came to VP at the time he'd run out of ideas in Norwich? - Recon he's done the same here, and all that he's doing is to try to deflect attention.

Agree3 Disagree0

Errr, Don't think Norwich knew much about Jed Steer coming to VP. that's why they are going to a tribunal.

Agree2 Disagree0

Now come on you canaries get a life. If Hoolahan decides to come to VP nobody will stop him. Many Villa fans wish they would as he is an old man playing out his days in the outskirts of civilisation.
The rumour gains momentum every day so I think you should say ta ta to him for 1.5m.
Dont think that anyone has said you are broke but the trip to the bank with £1.5m will brighten up your books.
I believe that it was one of your supporters that said " you can take it to the bank, " not a Villa supporter.

Agree1 Disagree2

You have a point. Money does talk. However, £750,000 - 1.5mil for a current international who is looming ever larger in Martin O'Neil's thinking plus his creative value on the pitch for Norwich, well, that sort of money isn't talking it is incoherently mumbling.

Agree2 Disagree0

Hoolahan is 31/32yo. He's not exactly going to get any better an isn't in Hughtons plans so why do you talk about him like he's a future star?
£2m max.

Agree4 Disagree1

So tat is why Hughton has said TODAY Hoolahan is a very big part I the team and will be in the team at Everton

No transfer requests received this season - McNally

Rumours now that Villa could be after Nakhi Wells from Bradford. Definitely fits the Lambert mould of player young and hungry. Always looks lively when i've seen him play.

Believable8 Unbelievable9

Will tear up my season ticket if this is true, just another jordan bowery. fed up with lower league players that can't cut it in prem.

Agree8 Disagree3

Wells is far from Bowery as they come. Bowery wasn't even prolific in lower league football!

Agree8 Disagree2

Wells is ten times the player Bowery is he has a record of 1 in 2 Bowery record of 1 in 9 I was hoping for a better striker but we all no we ain't got much money and for cheap options he is pretty decent if we can pull off the signings of lescott defour rincon and maybe holtby would be a very good window

Parker2789

Villa seem to be closing in apparently on Lescott with a price varying from £4-6m. Lewis Holtby loan seems to be sinking but apparently remains as a plan b. Tomas Rincon rumours are gathering speed, a rather experienced right back valued at around £1m. Rumours also gathering pace of a move for Rickie Lambert at £4m.

Believable4 Unbelievable8

Would love Joleon Lescott and have heard the same rumour about Tomas Rincon for under £1m if we can get Defour as well, Xmas 2014 come early Here's hopin Fingers X UTV

Agree6 Disagree0

Rickie lambert your having a laugh there was talk of someone coming in with a ten million pound bid we need to be spending more than a million pound on players you pay for what you get i think we need a left back as luna has been done more than wayne bridges wife, 2 wide players who can can put the service into benteke an attacking midfielder who can pick a through ball out and create something players to leave will be given hutton ireland bent nzogbia will leave at the end of the season,

Ireland and zog are our ONLY creative players, 1 loaned and 1 injured still. zog will rescue us from relegation if he gets the chance when fully fit again

I have just read 2 disturbing transfer rumours.

Apparently looking at Carlton Cole and Samaras from Celtic. Surely no one would be happy with these?

I really hope these are just rumours

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Defiantly not Carlton Cole but samaras is good he does get goals something we're in need of.

Agree6 Disagree4

{Ed007's Note - The Samaras I have been watching the last 6 years doesn't get goals, he is actually a left-winger and is the most frustrating player I have even seen in a Celtic top. And I'm nearly 40!}

Admittedly I don't watch Scottish football any more so I don't know what sameras is like week in week out but I have watched Celtic a lot in Europe over the last 2 years an he has been very good an excellent against Barcarole recently, I'd have him at villa park, I think he's a far better player than when he was at ManC

Signing C Cole would not make sense when we have Helenius who I think is a better footballer

>Scg87

Agree10 Disagree1

Cole is a donkey. he seldom scores and seldom passes to a team mate. Whoever said he is a striker needs to visit specsavers.

Agree9 Disagree1

Sanaras is not a bad player be good along side steven defour but I would not have carlton cole he is a donkey and can not shoot

Agree8 Disagree1

If we sign can't control then this will show how low it has gotten at Villa.

Agree2 Disagree3

Neither of these players would improve our squad and what point is there in signing players of equal or less quality then we currently have?

Agree5 Disagree4

Listened to the villa radio to day we are buying lesscot for £6m and Wilfred zaha on loan also we are going for Steven defour for £7m as we'll love to see all of them at villa park they will be great singings hope they all come

Agree9 Disagree2

Celtic fan here guy's, Samaras is a frustrating player world beater one week mince the next week

Papers are saying £40m for Defour. Where do we get £6/7m.

Agree2 Disagree3

40 mill for a player who doesn't start for Porto? Tell me what your smoking as I could do with some

Agree5 Disagree0

Lescott is out of contract in the summer so 6mil is just ridiculous, only the worlds top players would be worth 6mil with 5 months left on contract

Agree4 Disagree0

Smoking nothing sonny, just reading the daily papers, not saying that they are correct.
Read the news yourself.

Agree0 Disagree1

I don't know what paper your reading then because I can't see that anywhere.6 mill is about right for a player of his standard

Cant list newspapers as the ed will change the wording but I can tell you that I am looking at Tuesdays "femail" paper, page78 and reporter Chris Wheeler has identified targets for Moyes and he identifies that Villa have shown interest but the real price is £40m.

allegedly Villa may be in for Lewis Holtby. Most likely a loan move, however if we could get him permanently it would be great. Creates a lot of chance and his running would be great alongside Delph.

Believable12 Unbelievable8

Not gunna happen

Agree10 Disagree1

Again would be good, but can't see that one coming off.
just seen on tv that Cardiff, Norwich, Swansea and someone else in for Zaha on loan, seriously, why aren't we in the mix for him would be a great addition.
with West Ham in trouble I love to have a cheeky bid on Matty Jarvis.
also i'd love if those Barton rumours came to fruition

Agree4 Disagree7

Would be a great signing! If it's on loan (which i'm presuming it would be) I can't see why it wouldn't happen as there is a lot of competition for places at Spurs and he's quite far down the pecking order suppose it would just come down to wages for a change.

Agree4 Disagree2

Highly unlikely, unfortunately, as holtby is just the type of player we are after as we continue in search of some guile and creativity.

if, and that's a big IF, we sign sign anyone at all it won't be for a couple of weeks at least

Agree3 Disagree2

Would love to see Holtby but I can't see it unless it's a sweetner for a Benteke deal.

After yet another abysmal show on Saturday there can be little doubt in anyone's mind that we URGENTLY (now not in two weeks or at the end of the window) need a decent CB, a creative midfielder and a striker as a MINIMUM

Agree6 Disagree3

Spurs have Adebayor, Soldado & Defoe and don't have CL football! they can't afford to have Benteke also.

Let's hope we can get a deal for Defour sorted before the arsenal game

>Scg87

Believable11 Unbelievable2

I've heard even if all terms and conditions are agreed, it won't go through til at least the 10th of January as agents and lawyers have a break/holiday and come back for the remainder of the window, good signing though if it comes off, would love a good striker and experienced CB though on top

Agree7 Disagree3

Just like we were with belhanda, love it to happen but guessing we'll have to make do with the budget January sale option- hoolahan

Finch

Agree7 Disagree1

No chance now that it looks like Bents loan is being terminated.
Bent, Given, Ireland, Hutton, Nzogbia, Bennet. when will their contracts end as its obvious we won't play them nor does anyone else really want them.

Agree5 Disagree2

Bent can't have loan terminated, it is for 1 year, even if he comes back fulham will have to pay his wages, just like with Jenas. UTV

Agree7 Disagree1

Personally I hope Bent comes back so we can use him. I know there's bigger problems than strikers at the moment but some expierience wouldn't be a bad thing, and he's better than any of our other strikers on current form. Woth Marc Albrighton finding form again, might be worth having Bent to find the end of some crosses, especially with Kozak out for the rest of the season.

Agree5 Disagree4

Bent on the end of Albrighton's crosses? So Bent will be taking the throw ins then?

Agree4 Disagree5

If Fulham don't use Bent, maybe they'd be interested in giving him back?

We have enough in attack its the back line and the creative edge we lack. And Even if it was the attack, I think your forgetting how lazy bent was for us. He would be the last player we need to get us out of this mess!

Agree10 Disagree0

Could be a lot worse

Agree8 Disagree0

True we wanted Lambert but at Norwich he seemed to actually know a thing or two about tactics. We might have made a bad call but enough is enough, we can't put up with such poor managerial decisions.

Agree4 Disagree2

Give him this window to add then look in to it in the summer but I have a feeling he will turn it around, all our strikers are just that strikers, we are short on a winger, cam or 2, dm, cb, lb and rb.
If he can get quality here and add to what we got and still not get results then fair enough he had ample opportunity but till then I would keep him!

HI all,
It seems that PL is talking about Hoolahan from Norwich for 1.5m. Report from a red top today.

Believable16 Unbelievable1

I believe this deal will happen, not that I want it to be we are Aston Villa, so we buy

Slow, no touch, no resale value players so Hoolahan welcome to VP

Agree16 Disagree9

Clearly have no idea about football, the comment above, as your slating this one off without even knowing the facts. Analytically, Hoolahan is a top player. He is skillful, clever, highly technical and offers something very much missing in the current AVFC team. He is experienced and Lambert knows how to get the best out of him. Plus at 1.5m he is a snip and will do very well for us. Since when did Hoolahan have no touch, have you even seen him play? Really does my nut in when naive and clueless fans make comments like yours, I've been working in sports analysis at the top levels for a long time and although your opinion is allowed, you are speaking utter rubbish. Period.

Azza

Agree16 Disagree10

This is what we have come to Norwich reject I did say fed up of young and hungry but it should be young and good, skilful PL you are not villa class LEAVE, villajk

Agree4 Disagree7

I always thought lambert would go in for Hoolihan but not sure now is right time. He is the attacking style midfirlder we need but he isn't the plsyer he was last season!

Further more, Norwich have long memories and won't deal With Villa Hoolahan signed new contract in the summer so dream on

Agree5 Disagree9

Money talks and as you have non you'll take what's on offer country boy

Agree9 Disagree3

Well done mate. You have just made yourself look foolish. The fans may have long memories but the boards at clubs deal in finances only
The deal will be done if it makes financial sense

Agree5 Disagree2

Hello Azza - all due respect to a fellow Villa fan etc. Hell, the last thing we need is internal strife but as you used the same tone, have some back - actually, you are the one talking 'utter nonsense'. Even I, as a non-sports analyst (what is that, by the way? Not being sarky, I'm genuinely intrigued), know that one player doesn't make a team - either in the literal or in the figurative sense. Hoolahan may well be a gifted technician but what we need right now is a mixture of guile, tenacity, leadership and bottle. I wouldn't wish to heap those expectations or responsibility on just one new player - it would be unfair when the remainder of the current team appear to have very little appetite to deliver. Would you agree that teams generally reflect their manager? If so, Villa are currently a miserable, downbeat and somewhat unintelligible mess of a football team.

Pete D

Agree10 Disagree4

Dunno about Azza, but I'd agree with that last bit

Agree7 Disagree1

Lol there's some childish stuff on here sometimes.

Hoolahan is a decent player who does make things happen so it can only be a good thing if we signed him.

Yes one player don't make a team but I'm sure Lambert will try get a couple more in this window.

>Scg87

Agree10 Disagree5

One man can change a team totally. Providing he has a brain one player could alter us from chasers to a real team.
don't know who that might be, but for a comparison, one man made Spuds, Bale.
Now without him they are having to work very hard to stay in the top half.
If Bale was still there he would probably put a dozen in the net by now and Spuds would be in the top 4.
I know that AV cannot be compared to Spuds but losing one player has had a detrimental effect on their season.
It will take more than Hoolihan to change AV.

SuperMac

If the person who thinks Norwich have no money have a look at the end of season financial status, Norwich city DEBT FREE and with funds to spend and NO need to sell before bring in new players, have fun Playing them Blue noses next season Villa

Agree2 Disagree9

Above all things we need a midfielder with energy, drive, strength and not only a killer touch but the ability to hold the ball and allow others around him to play, move into space and know that the right ball will be played to the right player. I am not talking Inesta, Xavi, Alonso, Silva, Hazard etc, they are all way out of our league but better than Hoolahan

Agree7 Disagree2

Norwich are closer to relegation. We just aren't happy because we have higher standards than Norwich City Football Club.

Agree3 Disagree2

Hey Canary, what use is £7. 50?
Thats why you need to sell Hoolihan for £1.5m.
It is no wonder you are going cheap.
Most of the fans say "no" but PL knows him better than we do.

Agree8 Disagree2

Perhaps the canaries are going to sell a dozen size 1 brown eggs donated by Delightful Delia. Should double the transfer budget in one go.

Agree3 Disagree2

Message for the country boy, what's the point in been debt free if your not allowed to spend any? This on top of your relegation battle (that you've been in all season) and the fact that your star man winki hasn't done anything! Personally I for one would not be on this page but on gates of my club screaming and shouting!

According to inside fotbol the agent of Steven Defour has said his client would be interested in a move the the premier league and more specifically Asotn Villa no more is expected to develop until the 10th of January he has been valued at 7m euros by Porto

Believable7 Unbelievable5

Would love him at the club. Also if we can get Heitinga that shows intent. Guidetti or Saha on loan as well. Still think full back is a serious weakness though!

Agree8 Disagree2

Everton fan Heitinga showing intent?. Intent on being relegated you mean, the guy is a liability, stay clear, go for Lescott instead ten times the player.

Agree10 Disagree0

I agree that heitinga is not prem class at all, jus look at what benteke did to him in the 3-3 draw last season and that wasn't even his worst performance!

AVFC to be sold, expect announcement on stocks soon.
Let's hope a Saudi princess takes our fancy and decides Sir Alex needs one last challenge?

Believable8 Unbelievable13

And were did you find this information?
Kingvilla perhaps

Agree8 Disagree3

Rumours of stockbrokers being readied were on twitter yesterday. That doesn't mean there is a buyer ( that we know of ). This is a rumour site after all so keep your knickers on dear.
The bit about king abdullahs sister and Sir Alex is wishful thinking, she makes the man city sheiks look like benefit cheats and man utds demise just proves Sir Alex was arguably the best manager of the modern British era.

Agree5 Disagree5

If Villa were to be taken over by an Abramovich type person, I would stop supporting the team as the heart of the club would be ripped out. I've long had a dislike of clubs that buy success such as your Man City's - I would much rather be in a more modest position in the table and keep the club that we all know and love!

Agree10 Disagree11

I think the hearts already been ripped out mate when it comes to modern day football, we all know we are still running at a financial loss. when the bomb squad have all gone then how many years to cover back all the losses?
in the mean time were always three games away from being relegated. no ambition for cup runs, league games are a difficult watch.
give me Ronaldo strutting on the wings anyday over Abrighton.

Agree12 Disagree3

Don't be ridiculous jon, to say you would STOP supporting a team shows you don't truly care about them anyway, we could do with less support of your kind! who would you 'support' instead then?

Agree11 Disagree3

This will not happen, has stated above the heart has been ripped out of the club, but I wish it was true imagine seeing great players playing great football for this great football club villajk

Agree6 Disagree4

AVFC asking price is 250 mill.
Red bull current offer is 150 mill.
Now that price and offers are out expect change.

Agree4 Disagree4

Who are you trying to kid?You would be in the queue for a season like everyone else!.

Agree5 Disagree3

With all due respect guys, I believe football to be about good sportsmanship and where teams are on a similar footing, since money entered football, the game that I loved was destroyed. Now I've supported Villa all my life and I have been delighted that we've kept the old morals of the game and not descended into financial oblivion.

Don't get me wrong, I am a fan like you and I want to see Villa do well and challenge the upper echelons of the league, BUT I wouldn't be prepared to risk the collapse of the club not just on a moral level but also on a financial level. What would happen if the sheikh or tycoon pulled out, the millions spent on wages would ensure that we spiral dpwn the divisions (just look at Pompey & Harry). You're also forgetting that whilst we are experiencing success that will hit you hard in the pocket, merchandise and season tickets will escalate beyond belief.

Don't rip into me and call me a crap fan or say that you can do without me, I am a fan and want Villa to do well, just not at the expense of what we have at the moment. Just look at Everton & Arsenal who have all had steady backing and are now thriving as oppose to Pompey & Leeds who had an injection of cash and plummeted down the divisions. No "long term" good comes out of multi billionaire backing!

Agree5 Disagree1

Red Bull would make the team play in red & white, change the club name like they have already done with the three clubs they already own, are you sure you want that?.

Agree4 Disagree8

Gerrard houlier is their head of global football, he knows Randy.
Claret and blue army will become red and white army, Villa Park probably Villa Wings Arena, Red Bull Villians the new Aston Villa. Please no.
We are heading towards a crossroads were the devil is going to make an offer for our soul, time will tell if he is successful or not.

Agree6 Disagree7

First off, the only reason Red Bull changed colours an the name of clubs they currently/have owned is because them clubs have no tradition, no identity and no marketing value.

Secondly, the reason why RedBull wouldn't do the same with a club like Villa is because our name an colours are apart of the clubs identity and marketing potential. RedBull will look to build on that indentity not destroy it.

>Scg87

Hi all, Some weeks back I posted a similar line that the Red Bull teams play in red & white. The ED. pointed out that this was not true.

Paul Lambert thought to be intetested in Brightons Liam Bridcutt. He made enquiries when at Norwich but Brigjton were unwilling to sell at that time. Brighton have turned down two bids from Sunderland as South coast club value the midfielder at a reported £4m. Interesting posistion for The Agent of Bridcutt as he is also Poyets agent!

Finally Aston Villa scout let's slip some dossiers on a few players earmarked to be at Villa in Jan.

Simeon Slavchev - Buy
Abdoulaye Ba - Buy
Wilfred Zaha- Loan

The experience to be brought in will be a striker - Unknown at this stage as PL personally wants to run the rule of the competence of his shortlist

Helenius is going nowhere and will play a major part od the 2nd half of the season

Future Villa CB backbone.

Okore Vlaar Ba

Clark/Baker as options

Believable7 Unbelievable9

Helenius now essential following Kozak injury.

Agree8 Disagree2

Nathan Baker needs to be removed from our club, very poor CB, agree with Okore and Vlaar, zaha would be exciting, but would prefer to see lescott on loan, young on loan, and potentially. why not Jermain Defoe on loan?!

Agree12 Disagree14

Nathan Baker is 10x the player Ciaran Clark is.

Agree8 Disagree7

Baker is a better defender hands down, great in the tackle, strong in the air and throws whichever limb available in front of shots with his valiant bravery, I realise that his concentration and decision-making aren't great right now but he will gain these attributes as he gets more and more experience. clark is weak and doesn't win enough tackles or headers to ever be a truly effective cb he also lacks pace and brains and doesn't have bakers bravery or determination.

Ashley young will be coming to Aston villa on a loan deal, 100% true information (source close to young)

Believable11 Unbelievable23

I have just been reading that Villa are looking at two forwards.

Jurgen Locadia from PSV and a
Polish striker Piotr Parzyszek of Dutch side De Graafschap.

All the reading seems positive, but I am not sure myself.

villadave

Agree3 Disagree9

Would love to see that happen, finally service for Benteke

Agree4 Disagree2

Well we are going to need a striker now seeing as kozak broke his leg today and won't be back til next season

Agree4 Disagree5

Maybe it'll just open the door for Helenius? In pre-season he looked impressive. Shame about Kozak - was starting to like the lad (4 goals in 8 starts - facts tell the story!)

Agree8 Disagree1

Parzyszek has agreed deal with Benfica. Both those stories we was linked over month ago. So why are you reading old news?

Why I am reading old news.

Because I live in an isolated part of uk and have only just received the papers lol.

Lawrenson is saying that Villa interested in Jamaal Lascelles from Fotest C/B. Any thoughts about this? Is he any good?

Believable14 Unbelievable7

What has happen to gary gardner

Agree16 Disagree3

Another player from a lower division? Why be interested in Lascelles, when you have a better option in Lescott?

Agree13 Disagree5

Lescott will want huge wages that we can't afford, plus he is pretty old - not a Lambert type signing

Agree15 Disagree7

31 is not old

Agree13 Disagree7

It Curtis Davies

Agree4 Disagree11

1) Lescott is not too old, ffs, he's a quality experienced CB.

2) He would be the perfect solution for short term investment by PL and I am sure he will be on the list of possibles. In addition, Lescott is a Villa Fan and he would come home to play for a short term while, if not longer.

Azza

Agree16 Disagree4

I think that we need a top defender like Dante or some one cheaper but like him

Agree12 Disagree11

I think we will sign lescott on loan until the end of the season then sign him on a free at the end of the season

Agree12 Disagree4

Man City aren't prepared to let go of any of their players. so i'd rule Lescott out, lads

Agree7 Disagree6

Man City have confirmed that Lescott is available on a loan deal in January, just the calibre of CB we desperately need at Villa

Agree13 Disagree3

Lescott would be a quality addition, just what we need. also would not mind one of milner or young back alongside Defor here's lots of wishing and dreams UTV

Agree7 Disagree2

I think that we need a good attacking midfielder to link up the play

Agree10 Disagree3

Regarding the original post, who is this lawrenson?

Agree1 Disagree2

Martin Lawrencson, big aston villa twitter associate. A good friend of mine, ssn scout and transfer window reporter in the Birmingham area. He knows his stuff and will quite easily know what is happening better than most.

Azza

Agree1 Disagree1

Ok fair enough azza thanks just couldn't work it out lol

Agree0 Disagree1

He is a tv pundit, I think he played C/h for some club from Liverpool. Perhaps knows a thing or three.
C'mon guys, let's wake up.

Agree2 Disagree2

Hey azza, seems you know another Mark Lawrenson. I don't think the original post reffered to a twit er scout.
You can identify the real Mark Lawrenson by his knowledge about the game.

SuperMac

Agree1 Disagree2

He said martin not mark, read the post properly supermac, everyone knows mark lawro!

Agree2 Disagree1

Seems not everyone knows Mark Lawrenson or they would not have asked the question.
Interesting that azza has a contact with such a similar name.
Mark or Martin no matter.
Lawrenson is the clue.

just heard bowery going to porto. great experience for him if true.

Believable7 Unbelievable13

If this is true, i'll personally pre-order my season ticket for the next 10 years.

Agree10 Disagree2

Hope so

Agree6 Disagree2

Is it April 1st? as could have sworn it is Jan 1st :)

Agree10 Disagree1

We've never lost a league game that Bowery has started. Fact.

Agree6 Disagree10

If there is any truth in it then it might be there is truth in the Defour's link. With a player desperate to achieve recognition for his ability and eagerness to succeed he may be a decent. addition however I believe the elk of Omar Abdulrahman a snip at less than £4mill should be the benchmarks for the No10 CAM position,
Chelsea's LB Bertrand would be ideal but maybe out of reach now with Everton & Liverpool sniffing.

Zaha & Ryad Boudebouz shortlisted but again dependant on wage demand
An out and out striker that can go past players and find the target is an area of concern but again reliant on funds as it would be in the £30k wage band

Agree8 Disagree5

Lol that has to be the strangest rumour ever on this site.
Can anyone tell me why Porto would want Bowery?

That's a club who buy in brazilians by the ton, so I'm thinking they could get 10 thousand Brazilian strikers for pennies an still they'd have a better player then Bowery

>Scg87

Agree8 Disagree2

Bowery to porto? that is the weirdest and least likely transfer rumour I've ever heard. apparently we will get messi to replace the champions league-bound, league 2 standard bowery!
