Question for the more mature Villa fans, is this your worst ever side?

gunner62

1.) 02 Jan 2016 11:24:22
Nah, that boring Arsenal side under George graham is mine

2.) 02 Jan 2016 12:57:14
And the point of your question is?
Are you really interested in the answer or are you just enjoying rubbing salt in others wounds?
These are rhetorical questions by the way; I already know the answers.

3.) 02 Jan 2016 14:46:40
Give him a few mins, he will need to google rhetorical!

4.) 02 Jan 2016 17:09:34
It was a serious question touchy chappies, it is possible to have banter without having a go you know :-)
But nice to know your a gooner flackie as you consider your worst team an Arsenal team mate, I'll wait while you google if you like :-)

Nigel Pearson will be your next manager, I know nothing but just think he will be if Moyes stays put.

1.) 25 Oct 2015 21:45:34
God I hope your wrong, I would so rather have a one dimensional French guy at the helm.

2.) 26 Oct 2015 12:48:27
I don't think I could bear to watch a post-match interview with that pompous blowhard in charge.

3.) 26 Oct 2015 13:37:53
Could be a lot worse. SKY reporting that Poyet is also on shortlist. We really are in a desperate place.

4.) 26 Oct 2015 14:54:49
Pompous blowhard, fantastic, I've not heard that phrase for ages - Mendax, I take it that you've been watching Terry and June repeats or have you bought the box set?

5.) 26 Oct 2015 17:46:36
Ha ha ha.
Dear me mate, you really are showing your age
Thankfully I was spared Terry and June.

Congratulations on the Beteke fee that's an incredible amount for a player who still has so much to prove, I know you didn't want him to go but £32 million that's unbelievably good business by villa

gunner62

1.) 16 Jul 2015 23:12:14
Sanchez £32 million Benteke £32 million Liverpool have well and truly done it again paying way to much for a player with way to much yet to prove.
Benteka might prove a bargain but my money is this will be the highest fee of his career.

2.) 16 Jul 2015 23:46:19
Congratulations on the fee ? Are you for real mate.
We are supporters not stock market traders happy with pulling of a big deal
Losing a great player = bad news
If we invest what is a decent chunk of money on 2 or 3 equally good players then great, that will be good news. But it's a massive if

3.) 17 Jul 2015 04:03:35
*Cough* Ozil for 42 million, he's so rubbish I genuinely wouldn't want him at Villa - talk about overpaying.

Mendax is spot on though, its only a good deal for us if the money is reinvested in such away that the team is stronger for it - Look how Liverpool and Tottenham frittered away their big transfer money on unproven players and generally poor signings. I think Eriksen was the only top quality player they got between them. Its hard to argue that either side is better off without Bale/Suarez.

Hi all I know your all bitterly disappointed by yesterday and rightly so, us Arsenal fans are no strangers to seeing our team not turn up for big games, Stamford bridge and Anfield last season took some watching plus Monaco at home this season to name the most recent ones.
if someone had said to you on new years day that you can have premier league football next season plus an fa cup final with all its build up and excitement and all the wins along the way not to mention that feeling on semi final night when you beat Liverpool but you have to be awful in the final its self, could you have honestly said no to that offer ?
My point is yesterday was a very bad day at the office for you but in comparison to how things looked a few months back a disappointing day out at Wembley ain't the worst that could have happened to you this season

gunner62

1.) 31 May 2015 15:59:32
You're right, I think most of us would have taken that offer but there's a difference between playing badly and a complete regression back to the football played under Paul Lambert. I can take losing (were quite used to it) but that performance was dire; we didn't have a single shot and combined with the losses at relegated Burnley and that demolition by the Saints it feels like all the good work Sherwood had done to keep us up is unravelling.

2.) 31 May 2015 16:41:22
I've got to agree Andy you were as terrible as we were fantastic yesterday, at the start of the 2nd half I had to remind myself we'd changed ends because with the ease and little resistance we were going forward it felt like we were going back to our own goal for a minute.
Personally I think Tims fresh face and feel good factor impact arrived just in time to keep you up and get you to Wembley but the bubble burst shortly after both were achieved.
This summers transfer deals both in and out will tell us all a lot about nice but Tim and next season it will be his team that goes out each week.

3.) 31 May 2015 18:38:46
Great
Outclassed in the FA Cup final , then patronised by other supporters
Thanks for telling us how plucky we were and what we should be grateful for

4.) 31 May 2015 21:21:40
Apologies it was never ment to be patronizing but reading it back again I suppose it could be taken that way.
Sorry for any offence none intended.

5.) 31 May 2015 22:16:47
Fair play to you for the apology mate. You don't get much of that on here
As you can probably tell, feelings are still a little raw.
Sorry to bite your head off.

6.) 31 May 2015 22:38:59
Fair comment, my timing could and should have been much better.
Good luck for next season villa are a big club who will sooner rather than later be once again in and around the European places.

I'm not shocked by the lack of Champions league club interest in him he's good but not excellent and I personally don't think he's got it in him to be the premier league winning striker.
Its all about opinions but for me if true he will be yet another expensive Rogers disappointment which he will be judged by.

I think all transfers should be paid up front to stop clubs getting into debt so easily, only spending what they have or can raise from sales would make a lot of sense to me.

Let anyone and everyone go who isn't committed 100% to Aston Villa and get as much as possible for them to buy the besf players who are committed and honoured to play for you, its the only way to build lasting success.
Delph and Benteka leaving could well signal the reemergence of Vila as a top 7 team.
