With all due respect guys, I believe football to be about good sportsmanship and where teams are on a similar footing, since money entered football, the game that I loved was destroyed. Now I've supported Villa all my life and I have been delighted that we've kept the old morals of the game and not descended into financial oblivion.

Don't get me wrong, I am a fan like you and I want to see Villa do well and challenge the upper echelons of the league, BUT I wouldn't be prepared to risk the collapse of the club not just on a moral level but also on a financial level. What would happen if the sheikh or tycoon pulled out, the millions spent on wages would ensure that we spiral dpwn the divisions (just look at Pompey & Harry). You're also forgetting that whilst we are experiencing success that will hit you hard in the pocket, merchandise and season tickets will escalate beyond belief.

Don't rip into me and call me a crap fan or say that you can do without me, I am a fan and want Villa to do well, just not at the expense of what we have at the moment. Just look at Everton & Arsenal who have all had steady backing and are now thriving as oppose to Pompey & Leeds who had an injection of cash and plummeted down the divisions. No "long term" good comes out of multi billionaire backing!

If Villa were to be taken over by an Abramovich type person, I would stop supporting the team as the heart of the club would be ripped out. I've long had a dislike of clubs that buy success such as your Man City's - I would much rather be in a more modest position in the table and keep the club that we all know and love!

I'm not saying that you are wrong but look at it from a different angle. Imagine you're boss came into you today and offered you a huge wage increase after you had recorded a massive turnover for the company over the past year. You get the rise and that it why you put in the extra hours, so that you get paid more money to support yourself and your family. You know that you are young and have a big future and that other companies want to approach you, you've done your work, why would you do anything to jeopardise getting an even bigger pay packet - you have no loyalty to your company, you work for them and they pay you a wage - no strings attached!

This is similar to the Benteke situation, if you were him would you risk an even more serious injury, when you know that next month you could go to a better team, with better players and a better salary. Or would you stay at a middle of the road team who more often than not gets booed off by their so called loyal fans often unjustly.

We can all pretend that loyalty exists in football nowadays but we're only fooling ourselves, money talks and if you were in the same boat (with no attachment to Villa) you'd do the same thing. Playing or not - the money matters at the end of the day!

I couldn't agree more mate, Lambert is one of the best young managers in the league. Give him a bit of cash he will do well, if he's not given any money then he will do us proud, he'll just need more time like Moyes did at Goodison!

I couldn't agree with this more mate, he is exactly what we need along with an AM. He would be a perfect role model for Westwood, Delph & Sylla as he's a great DM aswell as a model professional. However, apart from Newcastle (where he was a bit of a let down) he has played all his football in London, apparently we made enquiries under O'Neill and that was the stumbling block.

That is rather harsh mate, whilst by no means is it the strongest midfield we've had I wouldn't say its the worst in the league. I do think we need a solid defensive midfielder & a creative midfielder to bulk it up. I agree with you that N'Zogbia should brought back after his injury too. On the other hand, post January I believe our midfield was one of our assets. I know you're entitled to your opinion, but let's reserve our judgements on the matter until October time after we've overcome the tough fixtures and they've played clubs in and around us.

A guy can change his mind, over the last season I've been umming & arring about him. Based on playing skills I think he can be one of the best in the league, however based on what we've heard about the unrest he's caused, he should go as no man is bigger than the team. He has obviously managed to piss someone off in the club as he's been given the number 40. On the other hand we are not in posession of all the facts and I think to get rid if him on his playing ability is a mistake but if issues have arisen (which we can only presume) he has to go.
