we need someone who is going to do jobs for us, one for the rest of this season and another to build something from the summer so that we can embrace mid-table mediocracy (sanctuary). for me there is only one person to fit the bill and that's Dyche, but I think he has too much about him ethically to leave Burnley at this stage. if it is sherwood then as long as he is half as good as he thinks is we'll stay up, but I'm not sure he is.

looking at the fixtures till the end of January I think Lambert should be setting a target of 10 points as a minimum from the next 5 games.

pleased to see the comments from Tom Fox aiming for european football in 3 years time, albeit difficult to envisage this at the moment.
but he's making that statement publicly so its great to hear something (anything!) from the club about it's intentions and by someone who is in a position to be held accountable.

Have you got any info on the rumour circulating with spuds and Villa, Delph out Dembele in ???
{Ed001's Note - I am looking into it to check if there is any change, but last I heard Delph was wanting to let his contract run down. Dembele was attracting interest from Everton in the summer, but I am not sure if Besic was instead of or if they wanted both. I don't know of any interest from Villa in him, but I am trying to check now.}

is anybody else getting a little concerned about how long its taking to get delph's new contract sorted out ?
he's appears to have stopped making noises about being at villa for the rest of his career as well, just shows how lacking in foresight the club have been
1.) It's true that it has taken a long time, not just on Delph's part but also Vlaar's. Vlaar may be offered a bumper deal.
I don't care how big the offers are for Vlaar and Delph, it's better to keep them. Whatever their wage demands are, I think that Lambert should sort out the contracts of these important Villa players.
2.) PL cannot sort out contracts until Lerner agrees an offer to the players. If Delphs agent gets interest from elsewhere he will go. Similar for Vlaar. Players are loyal to the agent, not the club.

I seem to recollect Randy getting getting back on his jet and flying home when a deal with deadly fell thro, only to fly back a few days later to complete. I am sure there is an element of bluff going on from one party or the other so I wouldn't be too surprised if something contrary were to be announced.
The 6 week exclusivity period was released by the club, timmys comments, albeit maybe 100% accurate, don't hold the same gravitas.
My gut feeling - keep watching this space, because it ain't over till its over.

it was well publicised that exclusivity was granted around June 8th. I am sure if that group were no longer interested then Randy would want it in the public domain so that other interested parties would be aware. remember he doesn't want to go into this season as owner so why would he lie ? until they announce something or the 6 weeks is up we are just a bunch of mushrooms.

I'm sure we'll be one of the best run clubs in the Championship.
Shame he's not focussing on steadying the ship before he starts setting a course.
I'd like Mr Fox to stand in front of a group of fans and repeat his european expectations again as we are so far and away from that level of expectation.

I don't think it was a booking but Grealish didn't help himself with a slightly theatrical dive, lesson learnt I trust. I've only seen Grealish on the tv so far but i am struggling to see what all the fuss is about - he plays like a light-weight Lee Hendrie ?
