Anyone linked it's all gone quite regarding transfer activity?

18 Jul 2016 09:29:08
I believe we are going to trim the squad a little and then look at who we want to bring in, I think the players coming in will depends on how many we lose, we have money it's a case of not wanting a massive squad for the season ahead.

Liam Bridcutt linked from Sunderland.

18 Jul 2016 10:30:33
What's bridcutt like never seen him play?

18 Jul 2016 14:13:57
He is a defensive mid. He used to play for Brighton and is not shy of a tackle.

18 Jul 2016 15:09:51
Will be a replacement for sanchez just bridcutt can tackle, pass oh and score on occasion.

18 Jul 2016 20:50:19
Hes not that good mate gardner should get a chance mate.

19 Jul 2016 12:05:53
Wilson left out of Man U squad - would be decent for villa.

19 Jul 2016 22:50:49
If Utd rate him enough to keep him but keep loaning him out, shows that he might have something, loan players won't do us any harm

Another day another midfielder linked to marseille. This time loan move for vertout, wish the French papers would've up their minds.

17 Jul 2016 22:06:28
Never adjusted to Premier League probably because had no help from the rubbish around him! Will be really interested in how careers progress of the likes of him and Gana, Samchez etc in a reasonable team?!

18 Jul 2016 23:42:40
Nick B6 they were the team mate or at least some of them. Any player can look good in s good team, however a true test
Is can that same player look good in a poor team? The answer is yes absolutely they can but Gana, Vertout, and in particular Sanchez are all average players who unfortunately were surrounded by more average or even poor players resulting in relegation! It isn't rocket science.

Slimani of sporting Lisbon linked, hard to see him choosing is if the likes of Napoli and Everton firm up their interest but shows the ambition of the board/ manager of we make a bid!

{Ed002's Note - Absolutely zero chance.}

17 Jul 2016 10:50:51
Think I made that clear with Napoli an such sniffing around but as I said does show ambition.

{Ed002's Note - There is zero interest from Aston Villa and it would be layghed away if there was - Twitetr I assume.}

17 Jul 2016 11:58:32
How rude ed.

{Ed002's Note - Try not to be a glifnard.}

17 Jul 2016 12:45:19
Feed our hope ed, just lie! Lol.

17 Jul 2016 13:05:03
Glifnard! Haha! Had to google! Quality!

17 Jul 2016 15:44:52
Was just Twitter when I posted, now several news articles stating his 24mil release clause. Have start getting bids in for strikers soon so they can bed into the team with friendlies against more suited teams round the corner.

{Ed001's Note - he is not joining Villa.}

17 Jul 2016 16:14:49
I do agree ed!
But with you being a pool fan, closer to the story than us. How close is Big Ben to joining palace?
The more I think about him, with the full fee not paid, and his apparent affection for villa. I wonder if a season loan, with a few to buying if we get promoted.
Or am I being stupid, as normal! Lol.

{Ed001's Note - he is not keen on 'dropping down' to Palace, that is the main sticking point, so I can't see any chance of a return to Villa.}

17 Jul 2016 16:48:27
I sadly if I'm honest, don't blame him.
Cheers mate.

17 Jul 2016 20:20:21
I've got a massive hunch that he's coming back on loan (with view to buy if we go up) Dr Tony is saying he wants us to be in top 3 (or is it 5?) clubs in the world, if Big Ben wants to feel the love, and Dr Tony is serious about it, why couldn't it be made to happen? I've got no Intel on this, just a joining some dots and a hell of a lot of optimism

If you've got a massive hunch, I'd make an appointment with Dr Tony so he can put some ointment on it. Meanwhile, I'd have Big Ben back, though he'd probably be looking for premiership wages. Mind you, even when he must have known he was moving on, there was no doubting his commitment to scoring goals for the club, which is more than can be said for many of the Lombards we are carrying right now. Perhaps we could put him and Crouchie up front and then keep punting the ball in off the wings until it hits one of them on the head.
