Would anyone like to predict the Steve Bruce line up. I think he will bring in Baker at the back and replace Jednaik with Gardner for more pace partnering Tishbola who is very much a Bruce type player. I also think he will use Ayew as a roaming creative link behind the strikers which isn't new really but I think he will be given more freedom to move around the pitch swapping and changing with Grealish. I expect Kodjia to feature up front because Bruce likes an athletic front man.

10 Oct 2016 08:54:47
Kodja definitely because he is similar to Hernandez, wouldn't surprise me if he played kodja and gustede up top. Amavi could play as Bruce always played Robertson at hull the wing back. wouldn't surprise me if he goes for a back 3 aswell.

10 Oct 2016 12:39:33
I hope he goes with a back 3 with Baker in. Baker puts his body on the line and will help see out games.

10 Oct 2016 13:58:00
I hope Baker gets a run as well, but in a back 4 not 3. We have so many strikers so i'd like to see more than 1 play in position, and we can hardly take people out of midfield. 4-4-2 for me Rudy and Kodjia up front or maybe McCormack with Kodjia on the wing.

10 Oct 2016 16:47:23
I think our biggest issue this year is trying to crowbar in Kodjia, McCormack, Ayew, Grealish into the same 11 at the expense of the team - Some of those players will have to settle for a place on the bench if we are to progress.

Would any of you consider recalling some of our loanees? I think RDM left us very lightweight in MF so I hope Bruce considers recalling Sanchez and Vertout - Highly unlikely I know.

My 11 would be the following if that is possible.

Gollini
Richards, Elphick, Chester, Amavi
Sanchez, Vertout, Tshibola
Ayew, Kodjia, Grealish.

10 Oct 2016 16:56:48
I think the loan system changed now, so you can't end them early. But I might be wtong!

I like your team, except I wouldn't ever want to see Richards in a villa too again.

10 Oct 2016 17:01:09
grellish for me is a no go too.

Don't like that line up BK, McCormack has to play, he has probably the best football brain and awareness in our squad.

10 Oct 2016 22:19:47
Sorry BK I don't like that line up either and I'm amazed you do! Richards and Sanchez? Two very poor players for us last term Richards in particular is like a headless chicken! Bacuna in for Richards, Baker in for Elphk, then you have a team. Gardner wouldn't be my first choice but he's a more realistic choice than Vertout. I was at Villa park v Forest and have to say the football was thrilling, the i l.

10 Oct 2016 22:25:20
Oops - if we'd had Tishbola in the midfield v Forest it would have been spot on. The puzzling thing is that RDM didn't use that system again, he changed things v Newcastle and only in the second half did he realise he needed to g revert back by which time we were chasing the game. He got himself sacked in that game I think.

Hi Lads, just to clarify, I wouldn't say I love the team I suggested but for me its probably the strongest we could put out.

Jedinak looks like a 50 year old trying to play football at the moment, I'm praying that is because of the RDMs system and that he will look better in a MF 3 - Sanchez, while he infuriates me to no end is a better option in that holding role.

Take your point on Grealish and McCormack - Totally agree McCormack is without doubt our most intelligent footballer but would you also agree that trying to crowbar all these players into the 11 has been one of our biggest issues this season? I would play Ayew and Grealish because we would get some width and I think Kodjia HAS to play as if we do go up the team he will have a bigger part to play than McCormack.

Also, Richards, Bacuna, Hutton. They all terrify me at right back lads. Its a case of picking the lessor evil for me and I still hold out hope that the Richards we seen at City is still in there, somewhere :-)

11 Oct 2016 11:09:52
He burnt all bridges for me, the only one of those three that deserves right back is Hutton.
I can see bacuna at the right of a midfield, but he is not a right back as long as he has a hole in his arse.

11 Oct 2016 15:17:28
Sorry BK I just don't buy into this Richards at right back or anywhere thing! He was at a very good Cit.

11 Oct 2016 15:19:23
Oops happened again! He was in a good city team so he looked good, however I'm a poor team he got exposed and he is poor no doubt about that. A good player will shine even I a poor team. Forget him it won.

11 Oct 2016 22:45:20
Sanchez is a very poor choice in the holding role BK. He constantly gives the ball away and is always off the pace! I wouldn't want Richards in a local pub team that's how bad he is! Didn't you watch them last season? I agree about Jednaik though.

12 Oct 2016 00:13:38
Gollini
Bacuna. Baker. Chester. Amavi

Adomah. Tshibola. Grealish. Ayew

MacCormack. Kodjia

This would do nicely me thinks. Thoughts anyone?

Hi new to this, been a villa fan for 40yrs think Bruce will do ok for villa if he is appointed as next manager.

09 Oct 2016 19:10:37
Hi villaman, welcome aboard mate.
I have to agree, let's hope it all goes well for him and the team of course, jeeeezzz we need it.

09 Oct 2016 19:53:55
Hello mate, I do as well, and really like the way he presents himself.

Loved seeing him on sky earlier. He is a good guy.

09 Oct 2016 13:16:57
Pearson given the heave-ho by Derby and, before anyone is even daft enough to suggest it, the answer is 'definitely not'.

09 Oct 2016 17:13:28
I don't think anyone is daft enough mate. Or if they are, they've already spat their dummies and left the site.

09 Oct 2016 20:12:23
Oh god no.

10 Oct 2016 07:54:22
Is she/ he on the list?
We may need extra help and this could be the answer.
Look out for bolts of lightening for players not performing.
On reflection, he/ she gets my nod.
