Week after week we put up with Westwood, Gabby and Bacuna and others, walking round waiting for the whistle to go . On M o t day last night, a spotlight was put on Gabby, if I was him I'd be so embarrassed . He has for years got a realy good living, without giving much back . Time after time rumours about him causing trouble, in the dressing room . The problem seems to be everybody calling him Mr Villa, he realy believes it . Remi we haven't got many games left . even an idiot dreamer like me can see we are as good as down . Now is the time to give some of the kids a go, they can't do worse than some of the don't want to knows we have now . They will at least try and have some energy . We have to get these kids embedded in, with others like Gardner, Baker and others to come back . If we loose matches, so what we are no worse of, But at least we might be more prepared for what's to come . People like Gabby, Westwood and Co need a reality check, they are just not good enough . Villa till I die.

I actually agree.
But. Let's say we do throw the kids in, (which I would do!) and we lose heavy, and they have given their all, it may destroy any confidence, and belief they have/had.

My point to use as an example on this is Scot Carlson, (how I wish we still had him) was great, a future England number 1, and makes that mistake for England, and got pelted for it, confidence shot, down the leagues he goes.

If they are our future, I'm not sure the risk of destroying them in the present is worth it.

{Ed001's Note - Carson suffered a bad run of injuries mate, that was what destroyed his career. Adversity can build character in players, most kids come through at struggling clubs in the lower leagues. It helps them become stronger in mind and less likely to be destroyed by mistakes.}

That's true ed!
Perhaps the example I used was mute! But is a valid point I think!

{Ed001's Note - I know what you are saying, but personally I disagree, I think it does them good to have to go through adversity, as I said. Youngsters have it too easy, as we are seeing with Villa now, when they get older they have no ability to cope with that adversity as they have never experienced before. They fold like the Villa team is this season.}

That's a fair point ed.
Sink or swim then I guess!!

{Ed001's Note - yeah exactly, what have you to lose? Not like the established pros deserve to play and it might give them a kick up the backside to be replaced by a kid.}

Could not have been put better Ed, my feelings exactly, we talked about it last week.
Not everyone will agree but we have to try something, as I said last week other teams do it.
We need to learn and quick.

{Ed001's Note - it just seems pointless to me putting in the likes of Richards etc, when it is clear they are not giving their all. I mean you are losing anyway, so what do you have to lose if you are Remi Garde?}

Has anyone considered the kids might not be very good
People always say throw the kids in, they couldn't be worse.
Perhaps Garde has looked at them and thought " Blimey, I didn't think it could be worse but with this lot it actually could be"
I'm not saying that this is the case; I don't know
I am saying stop looking for simple, silver bullet answers for manifold problems.

I think Garde lacks the courage to try it. You only have to look at his body language to see he has given up along with the players.

Mandex got to blood them sometime, even Remi been saying he wished others had same attitude and commitment as Lyden . He has got to be worth a try in his proper position, instead of deadwood sorry Westwood. As we have been embarrassingly shown on telly, Gabby is a complete joke . Give one of the kids the chance to breakthrough . With the kids they will try, Gabby must have a money belt under his shirt stopping him running . If these kids realy want to be pros, after seeing what the so called 1st team are doing, they should be champing at the bit . People have been saying are our kids good enough, only one way to find out . You never know it might shake the others up, Let's give it a go Villa for ever.

Agree Davedean,

Well said davedean. Look at Man U there season has changed on an 18 year old who no ones heard of. They won't save us but we can enjoy a bit of effort and passion.

Southervillan, how many time over last couple of seasons have our u18 u21 beaten the top sides kis? Answer loads, we have some realy useful kids, who would love the chance to prove something ., & imagine the boost to our recruitment, when top kids country wide would see villa as a club that gives you a chance . Not like others that just go out and spend another £50 m and don't give kids a chance . I honestly think that kids like Lyden would thrive on it . we won't know Untill we give it a go.

I can't agree more. All we need is for Hansen to say you don't win anything with kids and we would be onto a winner. I've said for ages have a look at them and see what we've got for next season. Bring in a couple of experienced championship players to guide them through and build for the comeback years. The crap we've got at the moment ain't worth wasting our time on. Keep Amavi, Traore, Okore, Ayew, Gana and bin the rest.
