Not sure how true but rumours are we are interested in Schade from Brentford now he would be an upgrade on Malen from what I've seen of him but depends on price I imagine, Tammy would be the cheaper option

Apparently Brentford don’t want to sell and if they did the price would be north of £50 million and we habitat that type of money at the moment. It’s just click bait I’m afraid.

I think Emery saying we won't be in top 5 is his way of saying it's a closed shop
With Man City Liverpool Man U Chelsea &spurs able to spend what they want and we are picking up scraps.
It is truly astounding how we are where we are especially with the poor players we have brought in and the blame for that does lie at monchi and maybe Emery's door.
We have over achieved so far and it's a reality check for how fragile our squad is.
Let's hope there are some loan/signings coming in very soon, we still have a healthy points advantage over 5th place and champions league was always the target

The blame definitely lies at Emery's door as well as Monchi.
This is a guy that's paid £72m for Pepe at Arsenal.
Unai Emery has been the best thing to happen to this club since the new owners saved us. But that doesn't mean everything he does is right and amazing and he never gets things wrong or makes mistakes.
He's been backed to the best of the clubs ability and unfortunately his recruitment has been very hit and miss, with the recent summer window we signed Guessand, Sancho and Elliott, all will have been signed off by Emery as he has full control of all football related matters. Yes they may not have been his first choice but they will have been on a short list compiled by Emerys team and approved by the man himself.
It is my only criticism of him that he has been a major contributor in our precarious PSR position as what money we've had and given him has been wasted fairly regularly

We need to be realistic re managers and transfers, so no manager can get every transfer right, and some players take time to adjust not only to a new league but also a new country. On the face of it Guessand does at the moment look like a fish out of water but even if that transfer looks poor let’s not forget Emery also signed off on Tielemans, Duran, Diaby, and Rogers so I would argue he has got more right than wrong.

If signing good players all the time was that easy we'd all be doing it.
However, when we're clearly restricted by PSR/FFP the bad signings amplify the issue. £25m and £75k per week for Guessand is looking like one of the worst signings in the past 10 years.
Monchi obviously lost his job because of the Elliott and Sancho debacle but signing Guessand cannot have been far away from the one of the reasons.
I'm keeping everything crossed that McGinn's injury isn't bad.
I said last week that we've got a run of games coming up that will make or break us. I think Unai's interview was clear frustration with what we can and cannot do in the market. He knows far more than he's saying at the moment and I'm genuinely concerned about the impact this will have, not just for the rest of this season, but into the summer and beyond. Call me negative but that interview last night was worrying.

Let's hope starting 11 do the job today as the bench is threadbare up front
17 Jan 2026 14:13:57
Utd doing us a massive favour, we could go 2nd tomorrow. I'm worried how we will cope without Malen I liked him a lot and our options up front are limited to say the least but in Unai we trust I'm sure he has something planned

What makes people think Unai would leave us to join the basket case that is Man U. Lots of deluded mancs saying we should get Emery in, not a chance I can't see any decent manager wanting to go there.
We are a club that's well run and is on an upward curve which is the opposite of utd, Unai has control of all football matters with us which is what he wants and he seems to be happy here.
We have the best manager in the premiership and should be proud that he will touted for all the big jobs when they come up

Loadsamoney Ratcliffe and his team of forelock-tugging amateurs seem to have spent just under 2 years completely missing the point of running a massive football club like Man United since he bought his 27.7% stake and started mismanaging his vanity project in 2024.
It’s not a Swiss-based Chemical company Jim, it’s a football club and the dynamics are diametrically different. He has achieved absolutely nothing apart from leaving the club more dysfunctional now than they were on the day he rode into Trafford on his white horse to rescue them from the Glazers. Laughable.
Having said that Amorim does have by far the worst points per game record of any recent United Manager but you could substantially argue that he has not been allowed to manage. Thank goodness’s we have the ownership that we are blessed with ?

Guesand called up to AFCON can't see it affecting us much, hopefully he has a good tournament and either his value goes up or he gets a massive confidence boost and starts playing like a proper winger either way it would be a win win for us

Spot on Syston couldn’t agree more. What I find so frustrating is that we are so close to doing something special and this biased system is preventing us forcing our way into the top tier, it makes me so angry

It will be best stadium in division one they will only need to open one stand. Probably be a Sunday market like Bescot . Bloody muppets

Hopefully Ollie benefits from not going with England and if he does have a niggle it clears up

Only just noticed these posts and couldn’t agree more.without different opinions life would be so boring and as long as things are not taken to a personal level then differences of opinions are what these sites are for. Long may it continue

I think Bucky we cause more problems doing it than the times it goes right, I might not be a fan at times but it’s Unai’s way and it won’t change
