Blouse allegedly considering a move for Louie Barry.
12 May 2025 12:19:20
Talking to a few lads on Saturday who were saying Kamara is stalling on signing new contract as he wants UCL football and waiting to see if we are successful in achieving it for next season. Don't know how they would know but this is rumours page so.
Possibly has a ring of truth to it otherwise he would surely have signed by now.
Would be a bad loss as we are different team when he plays.
Upside is he was a free and we would get decent money as he's got 2 years left on current deal.
1.) 12 May 2025 15:27:26
I posted a week or two ago that Kamara before he signed for us that his ambition was to sample football in different countries and consequently the rumour was that he was prepared to do with us what he did at Marseille ie run his contract down so he can consider his options I hope that’s not true but I guess we will find out soon enough.

Villa Park expansion confirmed today. Capacity increased by over 7, 000 to more than 50, 000 with no impact to current capacity during construction (not sure how they'll manage that with H&S issues).
Great news that we're staying at VP and hopefully the first phase in increasing capacity to 55 - 60k in the future.
1.) 24 Apr 2025 15:57:31
Good it is hopefully just revamp all the stands then job done then villa park be 60thou or over

Anyone know what's happened to the Asensio deal?
1.) 03 Feb 2025 19:01:15
74 last I heard it was still expected to be completed.
2.) 03 Feb 2025 19:13:25
It’s done.
3.) 03 Feb 2025 19:20:09
74 it has just been announced he is now with Villa.
4.) 03 Feb 2025 20:07:01
Thanks guys, just seen it.
Good news!
03 Feb 2025 17:28:00
So, the Disasi deal looks like it's off.
What!
If we don't have a CB come in then we have had a bad window. Everybody knew we needed one before and now we could be about to finish without signing one.

Brentford to buy Kelleher for initial £12.5m!
Absolute steal in my opinion.
Very capable keeper and never felt like a huge issue when he stepped in for Allison.
Eds, thoughts, good money or have they let him go too cheaply?
{Ed001's Note - final year of deal, wanted to move, was only ever a back up and did make a fair few errors, I think both teams got a good deal. At Brentford he will be no 1, so he will improve and hopefully lessen the errors.}
1.) 01 Jun 2025 19:47:44
Good keeper would loved him when emi goez
2.) 01 Jun 2025 20:39:32
I think we will end up having to buy 2 keepers and I wouldn’t mind Ramsdale at the right price, I know he was relegated with Southampton but 2 seasons ago he was Arsenal’s no 1 and they finished runners up so he ain’t that bad. As a back up I don’t know why we don’t look at some Championship keepers personally I like Anthony Patterson at Sunderland good shot stopper and right age mid 20’s I think would be better option than Gauci based on the bit I’ve seen of him.
3.) 02 Jun 2025 00:23:46
If we are going to take a gamble why not play our u18 gk who plays for eng u18s aswell highly rated aswell
4.) 02 Jun 2025 11:33:11
I’m with Mings. Ramsdale has that bit of ‘an edge’ about him like Emi. As long as our defence don’t play silly buggers tip tapping it around the penalty box is what I’d prefer, keepers stop goals going in, don’t expect them to be Backenbauer too ??♂️
UTV
5.) 02 Jun 2025 13:55:51
We can do better than him, he's awfull gk
6.) 02 Jun 2025 20:42:08
Arsenal don’t sign awful goalkeepers, awful goalkeepers ont make England squads.
7.) 02 Jun 2025 21:19:27
I personally don't rate kelleher very highly, he's been OK behind a solid Liverpool defence, but I've had to watch him behind a terrible Irish defence. he's left in some very soft goals, his kicking is very poor, he made an awful howler away to Greece.

Europa league not the end of the world. The middle 12 games and too many draws have cost us in the end. Goals conceded has been our downfall.
We were poor today and inevitably it is against Utd.
Still, Europa league and a chance to consolidate our top 6 credentials next season.
25 May 2025 17:10:15
If we get anything out of this now I'll be amazed.
Cash just added his name to the list of players who should be sold (who'd pay anything for him after watching today?)
This was inevitable I'm afraid.
Worst place in the world for us to come to requiring a win.
Emery is a great manager and we've made massive strides in the 2.5 years he's been in charge but does he have a plan 'B' in games like this?
Really not sure he does.
25 May 2025 16:26:51
I take it the players and Emery know we've got to win this game to qualify for the UCL?
What are they doing?
25 May 2025 16:21:57
Jeez, we look bad today.
Kiss that UCL place good bye. ?
10 Jun 2025 12:49:48
No Rogers, Watkins, Tielemens, Kamara, Ramsey. What are we going to do?
03 Jun 2025 13:49:43
VJ, both Chelsea and United have much stronger brands around the world not just in the UK. Money is constantly flowing through the tills. Chelsea also sold their Women's team, something we've been rumoured to be looking at.
Every club is waiting for the outcome of the 115 point legal case. Win it and I suggest the floodgates will open.
22 May 2025 14:18:21
Jonny, this is the world we're in. All clubs are trying to do it. Having a youngster on the books from a very young age and then selling them is 100% profit to the bottom line. Grealish and Palmer are the obvious examples and I'm sure there are more.
Looking at the U18s I would say that there could be a significant revenue stream for the club over the next 2 - 3 years.
It would be great to benefit from them playing for the 1st team but PSR has caused this and this loophole is the only way for us to compete especially as Villa Park is c15-20k short of some other clubs capacities which significantly reduces our income.
Sorry to talk about ££££ but that's what football is about now.
24 Apr 2025 13:01:43
He will be 34 in June and demanding a big wage. Already seen this season his legs ain't what they use to be. Money to be spent more wisely elsewhere is my call.
03 Feb 2025 20:07:01
Thanks guys, just seen it.
Good news!
01 Jun 2025 09:44:26
Agree 100% and if that means we move from VP then so be it. We simply cannot compete in the 21st century with 19th century heritage. It’s stifling our ambitions.
I love VP and I believe it’s one of he most favoured by opposition fans but it’s more like a museum attraction now. If we can’t build on the foundations and turn it into 55k minimum then we must look elsewhere.
29 May 2025 12:23:03
I can't see us getting £125m for those players Whack. I think more like £80 - £90m. I know the market is inflated but some of those are finished at top level and lower clubs won't pay the money.
They will all probably leave though including those on LOTM list.
Agree about Asensio. A pity as he showed such terrific promise in the first 4 or 5 games.
What would you do with Iling Jnr and Barrenechea? The latter had very good reviews during his loan at Valencia.
27 May 2025 21:49:16
Daz, I empathise with anyone with struggles. Will not go into details about my own but live them everyday.
Safe to say emotions run high post such a disappointing end to the season.
As previously mentioned we’ve had a great season with just that last piece of the jigsaw missing, silverware.
I ain’t getting any younger and I’m desperate, as we all are, for a trophy before …….
Anyway, UTV!
Happy summer all and we start it all again in c80 days….?
27 May 2025 14:02:49
Whilst I don’t greet with some of VJ comments I do wonder about the comments of others on here aimed at him.
I was rightly picked up by eds for a comment over 12 months ago.
Now I see some (who have claimed to have had problems in the past) making some equally derogatory comments.
I would expect better of them and ask them to look at themselves and what they may have been through in the past.

Spurs won prize money of €10.95m for winning Europa League. Significantly less than the prize money we got for losing Qtr Finalists of c€52m.
Gate receipts and other commercial will increase both but a difference in the region of €40-50m is closer to the mark.
