It seems that Ramsey is definitely on his way then. Somewhere between £30-40m.
If it's closer to £40m I say it's a good deal for us, especially as he has had some injury issues.
Not so sure that I want us to spend this money on Asensio though, as being reported on some sites.
1.) 13 Aug 2025 18:33:21
I think Asensio would be great, provides flexibility across the front positions and 8 goal contributions from 21 games isn’t too shabby either. I think Emery is fairly confident that this deal is going to happen as despite some offers from Turkey and Italy Asensio hasn’t signed which suggests to me that once we have completed a sale he will move to us all assuming we can match his wage expectations.
2.) 14 Aug 2025 21:19:01
They’re saying £43M inc add ons for Ramsey, keeps getting better don’t it? I’ve just got this feeling something is in the pipeline that no one is going to see coming, that’s going to blow us away ?

Another website are saying that Ramsey's preferred destination, if he were to leave, is Newcastle. If a new contract cannot be mutually agreed.
Mixed feelings about him tbh.
1.) 12 Aug 2025 16:18:51
If we get £40M for him and get someone like Dibbling or Guler I’d be happy

Also McAtee for £30M ??♂️

He is off to Forest it seems
06 Aug 2025 12:09:34
This lad we're apparently about to buy, Evann Guessand, certainly looks a talent.
I just wonder about the construction around this deal however. Nice are owned by Ineos. Ineos owner, Ratcliffe owns Utd. Utd are rumoured to be interested in Watkins.
Call it a coincidence but there might be a link here. I hope not, but.
1.) 06 Aug 2025 19:04:40
Looks like sesko is going to united
01 Aug 2025 16:06:00
I've read that Turkish defender, Yasin Ozcan, who we signed just earlier this is on the verge of leaving for Anderlecht, either permanently or on loan.
If it's a perm deal that will leave me totally bemused as to what our transfer policy is.
What was the point of signing him?
1.) 01 Aug 2025 22:22:55
Apparently a permanent move is an option but for an amount in excess of what we paid. One can only assume Emery has had a closer look at Ozcan up close and doesn’t think he has what it takes and from that perspective if we get more than we paid we haven’t lost anything. I would also presume we have included a sell on clause.
2.) 02 Aug 2025 02:12:56
A profit and a sell on clause is good business to be fair, it’s unusual but with the position we find ourselves in every bit helps.
5 million profit pays one of our first team players 100 a week for a year, probably not going to make 5 million but you get my drift
21 Jul 2025 08:14:15
Rumoured that Chelsea are prepared to offer Villa 3 players to prise Rogers to Stamford Bridge.
I don't want 3 players from them who probably don't want to leave and possible don't want to come to Villa. Would be a bad deal imo.
If he does go it's got to be a cash deal.
We can then get players in who we want and need.
1.) 21 Jul 2025 08:48:55
If we let Rogers go and it wouldn’t be the end of the world if that did happen I’m sure Jackson would be part of any deal.
2.) 21 Jul 2025 12:53:42
A swap deal doesn’t help our psr, I honestly couldn’t see this happening, we would actually be worse off having to pay 3 players wages instead of 1 player, same with united they are interested in Martinez but don’t want to spend any fresh money for a deal they want to swap garnacho, I find it comical they have all this money to spend on new players from other teams but don’t want to give us cash money when in fact we are the team who needs that cash more than any other team in the league, Rogers is our golden ticket, if they want him let them stump up 100 million or sod off, only a fool would take any swaps imo, Chelsea are desperate to get rid of Jackson after buying 2 new strikers, we are holding the aces in my opinion. Selling rogers or Martinez to a rival club makes them stronger and us weaker so if it happens we should be making damn sure that we get ourselves out of the financial pickle we find ourselves in.
3.) 21 Jul 2025 14:14:49
Whack, income is not limited to cash. Like with Luiz, the value of any players taken in exchange count towards a profit on a player sale.
4.) 21 Jul 2025 14:42:23
I certainly wouldn’t take 3 players and tbh I wouldn’t take Jackson either he is half decent but if we want a forward I would rather go for my own personal favourite Patrick Schick or failing that Mateta from Palace but in reality I think Emery rates Jackson and would take him with a cash adjustment in our favour, but the cash adjustment would be key so it would have to be £35-40 million minimum and I can’t see Chelsea going for that.
5.) 21 Jul 2025 21:18:03
Hey RK, yeh I know what your saying about player value counting towards psr but as far as I know it’s the wages that are hurting us at the minute and taking on 3 players wages instead of rogers wages won’t help us out, the luiz deal didn’t help us out that much, we got 2 players we didn’t want who went on loan and 1 of them gone again this year, god only knows what the plan is for illing jr I haven’t heard anything. whereas if we had gotten a straight up 50-60 million we would of being financially much better off.
6.) 21 Jul 2025 21:37:03
Lotm I would have both those strikers ahead of Jackson, Chelsea looking between 80-100 million for him, no chance, they are having a laugh and only trying to big him up so they can try recoup money or make a deal for rogers which won’t break the bank for them, in reality they want rid of him, they rate him that badly inside the club that he couldn’t nail down his spot when they had no other real striker, he’s not going to get a sniff now they have delap and Pedro ??
I know you keep mentioning that Emery rates him but your reading to much into a simple comment that Emery made when asked about him, if you asked Emery what he thought of any player in the league he would say the exact same thing about them, managers don’t pass negative remarks on players from other teams unless there is bad blood there, it would be very unprofessional and would only cause controversy,
Emery is a pro and a gentleman I have never heard him say anything bad about anyone, I’ll believe he wants him if we ever put in a bid for him, I just can’t see it. every window the press link is with every player Emery ever managed, when in fact he’s only bought 1 player that he had history with. personally I think Chelsea are crossing fingers and toes that saudi come in for him, much more likely that he goes on loan to the likes of Leipzig or Leverkusen or Sporting etc who have lost a striker already.
7.) 23 Jul 2025 08:59:05
You maybe right Whack but as with all these things time will tell.

Here we go again.
Really not good enough.
Too slow all over the park. In possession and out of possession.
This is relegation form, pure and simple.

VJ, as a "man" who doesn't understand the basics of grammar, sentences or paragraphs, you probably shouldn't comment on a person's perceived mental age.

Some on here seem to be happy with the way things are at our club. Surely tell me this great to watch. Surely you can see there is serious issues.
Players completely out of form, a team so low on confidence.
Tactics that have withered and died.
Keep watching, this is going to end badly if there isn't a significant change soon.
1.) 25 Sep 2025 22:36:57
I've not seen any posts with people claiming to be happy about our form.just people distinguishing between form and not having a meltdown claiming we should dismantle the huge success we've had over the last few years.
Clearly not all is well, several players are very low on confidence and when form dips the more patient style doesn't create great optics, but two things can be true at the same time.
2.) 25 Sep 2025 23:04:20
If you look beyond some of the bad passing and finishing, there were signs of the first steps towards finding that form.
We sacrificed some possession to get back to trying to break the lines quicker. Small improvements with Rogers passes and Malen and Guessand shooting earlier (confidence issue) we could have had a hat full.
I saw an attempt at the changes people have called for, expecting a complete 180 in form in 4 days would be naive.
25 Sep 2025 21:15:37
Surely nobody can be happy with the way we're playing.
We're just begging to be beaten with this style. Rogers is absolutely atrocious. How is he still on the pitch.
1.) 25 Sep 2025 22:40:37
Obviously nobody is happy with this and I agree that Rodgers pass completion is woeful. Young attacking players go through these phases.some managers try to play them out of bad form, some drop them.we won't know which works in the lingerie run until we get there. I understand the sarcastic cheers when he completed a pass, but they certainly won't help him recover form any sooner.
2.) 25 Sep 2025 23:07:22
Not sure how 'long run' ended up as 'lingerie run'.but now I think of it, that would be pretty entertaining and maybe cheer a few people up haha
3.) 25 Sep 2025 23:37:12
Don't get your knickers in a twist DBS!
25 Sep 2025 20:44:46
Why does Emery persist in playing this way.
It's dreadful. It's clear it is not working either in possession or out of it.
23 Sep 2025 09:19:57
Well, Monchi is set to leave. Jump or pushed? Either way it's not a total surprise.
I'm not sure many, if any, of his influenced signings have actually hit the mark.
I wonder what the fanbase opinion is of this. I'm guessing at least 70% will not be overly upset about it.
15 Aug 2025 19:43:35
Whack, is he a Villa boy? Not that it matters.
The physio will be a lot less busy with Ramsey and Bailey going (if he does) . Not their fault but some players are held back by injuries.
10 Jun 2025 12:49:48
No Rogers, Watkins, Tielemens, Kamara, Ramsey. What are we going to do?
03 Jun 2025 13:49:43
VJ, both Chelsea and United have much stronger brands around the world not just in the UK. Money is constantly flowing through the tills. Chelsea also sold their Women's team, something we've been rumoured to be looking at.
Every club is waiting for the outcome of the 115 point legal case. Win it and I suggest the floodgates will open.
22 May 2025 14:18:21
Jonny, this is the world we're in. All clubs are trying to do it. Having a youngster on the books from a very young age and then selling them is 100% profit to the bottom line. Grealish and Palmer are the obvious examples and I'm sure there are more.
Looking at the U18s I would say that there could be a significant revenue stream for the club over the next 2 - 3 years.
It would be great to benefit from them playing for the 1st team but PSR has caused this and this loophole is the only way for us to compete especially as Villa Park is c15-20k short of some other clubs capacities which significantly reduces our income.
Sorry to talk about ££££ but that's what football is about now.
24 Apr 2025 13:01:43
He will be 34 in June and demanding a big wage. Already seen this season his legs ain't what they use to be. Money to be spent more wisely elsewhere is my call.
25 Sep 2025 21:58:49
Agree 100%. I’d love to see his pass completion stats.
Time for a spell out of the starting XI
02 Sep 2025 07:57:58
Malen instead of Sancho?
I'm not disagreeing with you necessarily, but many on here and other forums have slated Malen.
No Kamara either? Or is this purely for the Everton game as he will probably still be injured?
01 Sep 2025 12:43:43
How is this going to play out? Emery was visibly annoyed about the situation around Martinez yesterday.
Does he cut his nose off to spite his face by keeping him out of the squad or does he move on and pick him next game (if he does stay) .
Does Martinez refuse to play?
I don't see how this is anything but a problem for the club now.
01 Sep 2025 09:56:36
Agree about the 1st 15-20 minutes of the second half. We had more zip about our play. If we had scored during that spell things might have been different although I always felt Palace had another gear or two.
Unfortunately, as happened on many occasions last season, we started the game too slowly with no urgency to the pass and a lack of cutting edge.
Only when we were chasing the game did we briefly come alive.
We have shown glimpses of what the players are capable of but I sense a lack of being brave on the ball. They've clearly been coached to keep possession almost at any cost, to try and wear teams down.
The Man City way if you like (how's that working out for them these days? )
As you say, when Emery arrived there was a dynamism about our play.
Now it looks as though that has been replaced with a fear and starting the games by not losing and as soon as managers set teams up like that, the game is up. (This is not the same as being defensively sound by the way)
31 Aug 2025 20:49:38
I am more than worried. I am absolutely certain that if Emery doesn’t change the way we play, and I’m not sure he has the ability we will be going down unless the owners are brave and make a change that will be required.
