Just read that Al Ghazi will be signed on a free from Lille very soon.
Still need a goal machine as Tammy is almost certain to be called back and probably sold. Poss WW,
I don't think that Kodjia will be able to fill Tammys boot and unsure that Maupay will come to us as established teams in the prem will be calling.
Deano has been successful in finding a few gems in Europe in the past, Maupay was bought for £1.6m. Could he uncover another striker for us?
Hogan will be back after the final game so should we persevere with him? Deano's style may well be right for him as it was at Brentford.
I would love to be a fly on the wall to hear what plans we have for next season regardless of where we are.
Come on team bring it home!

1.) 06 May 2019 10:11:58
I would very much like to see Neal Maupay as a new Aston Villa-striker. I believe that he would be really good for us, yes. It's good to hear about El Ghazi too. He has definitely been good for us!

Does anyone out there know of an out of contract C/H?
We need this before anything happens regarding a top 6 place.
Jack could be back this weekend but if we leave the gate open all and sundry will walk through or bypass.

One man could mean we get into the playoffs, but who? We could advertise across the world and see if anyone, someone comes forward.
We could do a deal as with JT last year of a wage plus a bonus if we get through the playoffs.

I would offer my services, my old boots are now cleaned down, blood removed and nails knocked in, but I would probably get sent off after a couple of games.

Find a shin kicker, not the opposition, our players. that's what we need.
Villadave, no need for you to apply, I have already sent your name to the powers that be.
We can score em but we can't stop them.

1.) 26 Feb 2019 11:11:25
TOV, bit naive if you don't mind me saying we are short in more than the Ch position, that wouldn't solve all our problems.

2.) 26 Feb 2019 19:28:36
I agree oldvillan, George Curtis and Dick Edwards spring to mind, maybe a tad past it now, shame.
Thanks for forwarding my name mate, problem is I used to play A/ M consequently ended up having my shins kicked by people like you, haha.

3.) 26 Feb 2019 20:43:35
Nothing personal.

4.) 26 Feb 2019 20:51:07
We are scoring goals so we are ok up front.
We are conceding goals at the back.
Where is the problem?
The defence need a leader.
One good signing could have organised the back line.
No father figure, no guidance, no motivator.
Where is the naivety? JT did it all last season and that's what we are missing.

21 Jan 2019 12:06:45
Assuming the rumour is correct, should we sell Kodjia to Angers and for what price or do we keep him as Tammy will almost certainly not be with us next season?

1.) 21 Jan 2019 15:46:10
Yes oldvillan I think we should sell him, Kodjia does have his moments, and can at times change a game, problem is he is not a team player.
I think he is a bit erratic at times and would be a much better player if he looked up occasionally to see where he is going, and spot his team mates movements.
Sell and invest in a quality attacking midfielder, reason being we are very ordinary when Jack is out.

2.) 21 Jan 2019 17:02:24
I'd agree with the post from Villadave. Kodjia can look like a world beater at times, the trouble is that those times are far too rare. His ability to conjure something out of nothing is far outweighed by his lack of composure, the way he often delays a pass or a move breaks down because of him not being in sync with others. To be fair he has been played out of position this season though. He's still got a decent record, decent market value and certainly wish him well after helping us out, but time to move on and get a bit more value for money. easier said than done I know in January though. Same could be said of Bolasie too. must be well over £100k a week between them so let's free up some space in our squad, develop Green and get maybe another in to make a bit more of a consistent contribution.

3.) 22 Jan 2019 10:36:33
The problem now is if we do sell him we will have less than a week to replace him and could end up not bringing anyone in due the lack of time left.
With Bolasie now gone back to Everton it looks like Green will be expected to fill the gap. Maybe by shifting 70k a week off our payroll will release some money for investment. We need it!
We have got ourselves into a proper mess over the past 4 - 5 weeks, probably since the Albion game to be honest. Before that game we were looking forward to a transfer window that would enable us to push for promotion. Since then however we have conceded an average 2+ goals a game at home (not even counting the 5 we conceded to Forest! ), not won at home since we beat blues (2 months ago! ) .
We are now looking at teams below us (not above us) and the transfer window is becoming one of short term fix (again! ) to get us to the end of the season.
I'm not blaming the current management team but after the initial 'honeymoon' period we have been woeful. Grealish's absence has been a factor, probably more than anyone would have thought. Add to that Tuanzebe's injury, which has also been a factor.
Best we can hope for this season is upper mid-table.
We need some rabbits pulled out of hats over the next week or so that's for sure.

20 Jan 2019 15:38:34
According to other sites Charlie Colkutt signing imminent.

1.) 20 Jan 2019 15:42:17
Why do we want him he can't even get in Shrewsbury team.

2.) 20 Jan 2019 18:43:35
Don't ask me.
I want a miserable centre half who hates everybody, including his team mates.
Someone they have to keep locked up and starving until kick off.

08 Jan 2019 21:25:04
Just seen a report that we are looking at Adam Reach from the Owls and talking 10m.
Anyone else know about this?

1.) 09 Jan 2019 05:38:44
Yes I've seen a few reports of this. Be an interesting one to follow.

2.) 12 Jan 2019 16:50:31
Take more than signing him to stop us sliding down the league.

Perhaps we will see a game of football for the final.
I feel that Rams will play a tidy game and not kick our players.
Well done Derby, overcame a very hard Leeds.
Bank Holiday Monday 2pm, everything to play for and two teams that like to attack.
Should be a classic.
Come on Villa, bring it home.

1.) 16 May 2019 08:49:48
They picked up a few yellow cards last night,
Grealish will be a target as usual,
Nice to see 2 teams going at each other,
Very open with loads of mistakes,
Game in final should be a classic but as longs as we win that's the main thing,
Did you see bamford again booked for diving then later in game blamed a derby player of play acting😁😁😁
Im pleased we are playing derby.
There is to much hype of leeds and the manager in particular.

15 May 2019 10:01:34
Excellent performance by the best team on the pitch.
Playing against 11 shirts we still looked better than them, and some brutish challenges always meant that they wouldn't finish with 11 on the pitch.
Brunt earned his red through some nasty incidents but what about Jokehanson on Jack? Many of his attacks on him were difficult to believe.
Overall we deserved the win.
Baggies deserved nothing. Manager should be replaced very quickly.
Nice rest for the boys now and then onto the final.

12 May 2019 21:24:23
Following MUFC disaster losing to Cardiff I expect TZ to be the first bus going north at the end of the season regardless of its outcome.
TZ is the best C/ B that MU have and he hasn't kicked a ball for them for ages.
I would just like to say a big THANKYOU to him for helping us get where we are at this moment and wish him the very best for his future.

1.) 12 May 2019 22:25:13
Already agreed loan for next year I thought.?!

2.) 13 May 2019 13:22:14
I don't think anything is signed.
Verbal agreement seems to have been given but nothing on paper.
MU need him and he will likely go back. Huge club, massive pay. We are second in this race regardless of where we are next season.
Would love to see him and Mings stay. Best back line for decades.

3.) 13 May 2019 18:46:21
Think Chezzie would work well with Ming's next to him in the Prem and Hause as back up. If still in the Championship then Hause first choice with Easah as the back up.

08 May 2019 14:27:17
Chelsea transfer ban for two windows has been confirmed so do we think that Abrahams will be their frontline striker?
Wolves are in the hunt as are Everton.
Wolves also put 40m euro bid for Portuguese guy that Deano is reported as "looking at" but no way would he pay 40M.
It is now necessary to get another striker in before the others start sniffing. Maupay is the obvious target but several others have already stated an interest.
Hope that they are all going to bed early, keeping the top on the bottle and looking both ways before crossing the road.
I will miss Saturdays game as my wife is waving the big stick to say we are going for a prearranged lunch so please please give a shout for me, please.

1.) 08 May 2019 14:58:31
Could be maupay to join us in summer.
Also think there is legs in this barbet from brentford.
They must have there targets lined up but until what division we are in we will have to wait.
Abrahams will go back to chelsea i would think.
Still not sure if he is good enough for premiership.
Could be but i'm not so sure,
Same can be said about barbet and malpay.

2.) 08 May 2019 20:17:37
I have said before I think Neal Maupay is a must for us.
The guy has everything, and I am sure he would more than cope with the prem if we were to get there.
I think he would bring the best out of Davis.

3.) 08 May 2019 20:48:45
Smith doesn't play 2 up top so he wouldn't have a partnership with Keinan. Couldn't see Maupay playing as a winger either.

4.) 08 May 2019 21:49:50
Smith has and will play with 2 up top, Walsall and Brentford have played that way.
Who knows what Smith would do with his formation with better and more versatile players at his disposal.

5.) 09 May 2019 09:33:13
Malpay not only a goalscorer but he has a high assist rate,
Could well do good in premiership.

27 Apr 2019 13:40:31
Tomorrow against Leeds could be interesting in the overall positions at season end.
Villa win, Baggies win and the FA decide that Bolton are dumped and all their scores are nullified then the Baggies would go above Leeds.
Reason for this is that Baggies lost a match against Bolton and that means that they would only lose 3 pts, all the rest in the top 7 would lose 6pts.
The play offs are close to being sorted and a both us and Baggies winning this weekend would give us playing Leeds for a place against probably the Baggies at Wembley.
I am not a mathematician but check for yourselves and see what you make of it.
Should we get to Wembley who would you prefer Leeds or Baggies?

1.) 27 Apr 2019 14:46:17
I think after 3/ 4 of season is played, results stand, and the forfeited matches are awarded as a 3-0 win to the opposition.

2.) 27 Apr 2019 15:31:16
Do you know re this Ed’s?

{Ed002's Note - Someone is teasing you all. The match was postponed, that is all. Bolton has to play both remaining games still.}

3.) 27 Apr 2019 15:59:12
Thank you ed.

4.) 27 Apr 2019 18:24:59
As for who i would fancy playing in play offs!
For me it does not matter.
I know man for man we have the best squad in play offs.
I don't fear any team to play.
If we play as well as we have over last 10 games we will go up.,
But its on the day but i'm confident on outcome.

5.) 28 Apr 2019 11:52:36
Anyone bar Fulham.

I live in the south and this story has a lot going for it locally.
Another story is that the deal is almost done that if we don't get promoted then Jack will be in white next year.
I have told my Spuds mates that he is too good for them.
They tell me that he's not worth £20m.

Many Spuds fans have car reg N17. see if you spot one.

{Ed001's Note - Pochettino would love to sign Grealish. The only thing that has stopped it happening is that Levy would never agree the asking price or payment terms.}

Win at the cow shed and we go above BCFC.
Forest and Hull play each other so again a win at the cow shed and we can be in 8th.
GD better than Derby who play Wigan and Wednesday and the way they are going they could lose both so we could go 7th.
Lets believe
Our talisman is back, and did we see a more advanced roll for Hourihane?
Mathematically we are ok, we can make it. Every season we have a dip in form and then we rally.
This season is no different.

Been suggested that Deano may play Elphick.
Is TZ carrying an injury?

Rams looked average at best, got a lucky penalty otherwise the game would have been close.
Baggies looked weary and almost casual. They wanted to avoid injuries and played that way. Stroke of luck Robson-k getting a red and hoped that Rod the hands yellow would getting him a ban.
But don't let us crow too soon.
Pretty confident that we can beat them over two legs but not sure about Rams doing the axemen of Leeds.
Personally don't care about the other 3 as long as we are back in the prem next season.
We had several top men sitting it out today or the result would have been different.
Mings, McGinn and Jack (£65m buyout clause? ) back next week.
Looks good to me.

Justice done but we have to wait on the action for the players scuffle.
Already been done for the melee at the Cowshed.

Linesman also missed the offside which would have ruled the "goal" out.
Amazing action by Bielsa, top man.
would like to see El Ghazi cleared and Bamford hammered.
Gayle got 2 match ban for simulation on a review.
Bamford should get a heavier penalty as his action got an innocent player sent off.

Mings and TZ must be the best pairing in the champs and would stand well in the prem.
Well done Deano for getting Mings but can we hold onto him?
MUFC are looking at taking TZ back regardless of earlier talk.

Leeds played like the Leeds of old, if it moves kick it. Hunter Bremner Giles et al would have been proud of their team.

Now worried by what action the FA may take following £5k for the scuffle at the cow shed.
This was a full blooded corner street fracas and the FA may not be kind, regardless of reason.
