Glenn Murray for £500000.
He knows where the goal is and use's his brain.
Probably better than any of our strikers, even when they were fit.
Deano lost in jungle of rumoured players, players available, players willing to come to VP.
Are we still being threatened by FFP?
If not why don't the owners do what Man City did and spend the money to get us where they want us to be, top 6 and Euro football.
OR are they waiting to dump Deano to get an international manager before they spend big?

Drinkwater on loan.
This means that we cannot get Batman or Giroud on loan as we have the one from Chelsea we are allowed.
Glenn Murray from Brighton would be a good buy for little money. Scores for fun but only in the champs. Will he work in the prem?
Why are we looking at a guy who has scored 2 goals this season?
We need a goal machine now!
Options will expire if we don't action now.
C'mon Deano, show me your intent!

Theoldvillan

{Ed002's Note - There was never any chance of Giroud or Batshuayi moving to Aston Villa on loan - Giroud will be leaving but only has six months left on his contract.}

We can still sign them permently thou.

Read a report in a daily this week that stated that we are favourites to sign a 28year old from Vienna.
Hes been scoring regularly and assisting as well. Price about 4.5m euros.
Also looking for a goal getter.
Brighton bought Maupay and now Glenn Murray sits on the bench. He was BHA regular no 9 till Maupay arrived.
Could be an opportunity to pick up an old fashioned 9 but we would have to supply him with the ball infront of goal, not on the wing.

Where you been oldvillan, have missed talking about ass kickers haha.

Hello Dave, still believe in them especially after yesterday.
Where is the boss man at the back?
Find it all very depressing.
Our manager is failing all over the pitch.
He could have got the players he bought in for the price of drinks down the local.
Many of the players that were told to go could have still been with us when you compare what we have.
Abraham is what we need but alas .

Today is 27th May.
Our team won the European cup on 26th May 1982.
I will be happy with a repeat of that day.
Cmon, let's get it on.
Posted earlier Good Luck to one and all wearing the famous Claret and Blue.
Bring it home.

Just read that Al Ghazi will be signed on a free from Lille very soon.
Still need a goal machine as Tammy is almost certain to be called back and probably sold. Poss WW,
I don't think that Kodjia will be able to fill Tammys boot and unsure that Maupay will come to us as established teams in the prem will be calling.
Deano has been successful in finding a few gems in Europe in the past, Maupay was bought for £1.6m. Could he uncover another striker for us?
Hogan will be back after the final game so should we persevere with him? Deano's style may well be right for him as it was at Brentford.
I would love to be a fly on the wall to hear what plans we have for next season regardless of where we are.
Come on team bring it home!

I would very much like to see Neal Maupay as a new Aston Villa-striker. I believe that he would be really good for us, yes. It's good to hear about El Ghazi too. He has definitely been good for us!

Today the powers that be the FA will decide if our season will restart some time soon.
How can they even consider a restart?
Thousands of people have died over the last few awful weeks and we are worried about football.

Overall the effect of this virus is going to be beyond anything that has been witnessed since the end of WW2 which we will remember this week.
It took over 15 years to recover properly from the economic situation then and hopefully this will be shorter.

If asked and I won't be asked, my vote would be to abandon this season and respect the deaths that have been caused by this virus.

Good to have you back posting oldvillan and I'm in agreement with you about us once being an industrial world powerhouse. I'm hoping that with us leaving the EU and the step up from British firms with the manufacture of PPE, ventilators etc that we may see a return to the buy British, home produced products once again as the emphasis will surely be on rebooting the British economy ASAP. If as a country we are the fortunate ones to develop a vaccine to counter this horrendous virus the prestige this will accomplish world wide could see a return to the halcyon days for British industry as we'll be the focus of the world and countries will want to deal with us again.

2.) 01 May 2020 10:37:32
I think you’re right Moose, an achievement like that would really put Britain back on the map, it would command respect. Well said also oldvillain, ending the season as a mark of respect for those who have lost their lives, is a good enough reason on its own to cancel it, 👍.

In the cold light of day when one can look back to last nights game and analyse the performance without sentiment what did we see?
Exactly the same.
A team devoid of any ideas, imagination or passion.
They defended high up the pitch allowing balls to be pushed past them. No player with pace to get back and a new style of defending.
Spanish international gk.
Do me a favour.
French f/ b lost completely
Pair of centre halves who look out of place on table football.
One could go on and on.
Where was Jack Grealish? Has he decided that the pasture is redder elsewhere?
Mings, a great cult figure, but he only has a left foot. He now believes that he only has to turn up to be a superstar. Points and directs like greats of the past but dails the simple job
Too many players with no bottle.
Too many players fit for Champs or lower.
Will McGinn make a difference when he gets back? Hope so.
Is JT playing a holding role till Deano goes?
There are many questions that will be answered in the next few games. Most of the players should be very embarrassed when the next pay day arrives. Oh for performance related pay. They all owe us money.
Totally p. off with all of it.
Expected a struggle but surrender.
NO.

Time is here, now, for an immediate change.
Sorry Deano, nice chap, but not in the ball game.
Individually every player including Grealish and Mings are not playing at a level that can be described as premier league.
No invention, no imagination, no passion. No idea!
I look for style but found a pair of old shoes when I wanted something with polish.
Players are stationery when they should be looking for space to take a pass, giving the man with the ball a target and then moving.
10 games to go and our only hope is that 3 other teams play worse than AVFC.
Probably the poorest team I have seen in Claret and Blue including the relegation side.
What do they do in training?
So pi. ed off even the cat gone into hiding.

Tyrone struts round the place like he is a mixture of Maldini and Baresi; he needs to focus more on winning one header in the box.

A bit of reflection over the last few games
Southampton have turned a corner and are now moving up.
Watford have done the same.
We lose to both of them and they now beat Spuds and Wolves so our loss may not be so hard to bare.
Deano changed formation to a back 3.
Dont understand why it took so long for him to go this way and move jack more central. One of the best creaters been stuck on the wing limiting his effectiveness but back where he should have been.
This will also help his England claims. On the left he was competing with Sterling and a couple of others.
Also Mings back is enormous. He is the pitch commander, most of the guys look at him for inspiration. Iconic and in the mould of another inspirational character, Mr Mcgrath.
Deano must keep both of them wrapped in whatever but its both of them we need.

We still need one or two arse kickers at the back!
So fragile that a couple of my old mates with blue badges could find gaps.
Up front no better. No ideas.
No money to improve.
Glenn Murray at Brighton is warming the bench after they bought Deano's prodigal son. He would score goals, well more than our lot. Cost zilch, loan deal. Send Wesley out to the lower leagues to get experience and the lower divs are where he belongs.
Come on Deano, pull your finger out.
Get us a team that is capable not one that gives us false promises.

I live in the south and this story has a lot going for it locally.
Another story is that the deal is almost done that if we don't get promoted then Jack will be in white next year.
I have told my Spuds mates that he is too good for them.
They tell me that he's not worth £20m.

Many Spuds fans have car reg N17. see if you spot one.

{Ed001's Note - Pochettino would love to sign Grealish. The only thing that has stopped it happening is that Levy would never agree the asking price or payment terms.}

Win at the cow shed and we go above BCFC.
Forest and Hull play each other so again a win at the cow shed and we can be in 8th.
GD better than Derby who play Wigan and Wednesday and the way they are going they could lose both so we could go 7th.
Lets believe
Our talisman is back, and did we see a more advanced roll for Hourihane?
Mathematically we are ok, we can make it. Every season we have a dip in form and then we rally.
This season is no different.
WE CAN DO IT, BELIEVE! I DO.

Scotty
We are scoring goals so we are ok up front.
We are conceding goals at the back.
Where is the problem?
The defence need a leader.
One good signing could have organised the back line.
No father figure, no guidance, no motivator.
Where is the naivety? JT did it all last season and that's what we are missing.

Hi Dave, I don't post very often but do read some of the posts that come from others.
In answer to your initial question, the answer is "NO".

we are a service division for the rest of the world.
I remember the time when if it was made in England it was perfect. Birmingham was the centre of production . If you wanted anything you got it in Birmingham.
Sadly the '70s changed everything
Further to your question ask what qualifications are required to be a procurer/ buyer for the NHS?

A reason for some shortage has alledgedly been that gloves were ordered in boxes of 100 and it is being said that it was thought that 100 meant pairs when in fact it was single gloves. this said only half the quantity needed arrived!
Dont know if this is 100% but who knows.

Yes Deano must go but who will come in to VP?
Its a poison chalice so only the very brave will put their head on the bloc.
Is JT keeping his powder dry waiting for the axe to fall so that he is directly inline?
Pochetino, yes please.

Almost anyone would do better than what we have.
Players have to take blame. None of them were visible for any of the 93 minutes.

Pearson has turned Watford around, no doubt.
He has instilled in them a winning attitude and the will to fight for 95 mins.
I had hoped that Terry would do the same for AV but it seems that he is more in the background than in a management role.
when we were looking for a manager, when were we not, Pearsons name was at the forefront but many fans were against him because they saw him as a bully like he was a player.
But if you get this idea into players they feel that they can perform better than the opponents.
This is exactly what he has done at Watford.
Now imagine what he might have achieved with AV?
Nice guy Deano but motivator, I think not.
Without Deano Brentford are still doing the business so there is no evidence that it was he who was the man behind their performances when he came to VP.
WE don't need a nice guy we need a miserable ba-----d to get our super stars playing for their places and one that can bring in players that are performers.
When was the last time we bought a player who was a recognised first team player in the prem?
No, we get players from all over the place, some that we have never heard of and others we wish we had never heard about.
Loan players who cannot get a game anywhere. Part of a successful team in the past who now warm the bench or are not even in the squad.
We could do with a performance related pay structure. £50000 a year plus bonus for winning, league position and the number of goals.
Some of the players must improve instead of leaving it to the icons.
The management must improve.!

Youth policy?
the big clubs have youth coming through almost daily
Pool, Utd, chelsea can all find half a dozen to get in the squad.
We only get Jack.
All the other disappear to all points of the compass.
we don't have a scouting team only people who go and watch park games.
