James Ward-Prowse will be the next player through the Villa Park door, I just have that feeling. 🤫🤫

And in the biggest shock in football history Harry Kane will follow after the Euro's as Smith changes to a two up front formation for next season. Just remember where you read it first boys. UTV 👍👍.

Congratulations to Emi Buendia on signing a 5 year contract at AVFC, a fantastic signing and a great piece of business, Emi and Jack will rip defences apart and he will also lessen the impact of a Grealish injury which proved costly to to our European hopes last season. UTV

Emi Buendia unfortunately missed out on selection for the Copa America squad so he will be returning to the UK and we will likely see his Villa photo shoot and video released by @AVFCOfficial shortly.

Oh please lord make it so.

I read so many links and headlines such as "Villa tipped to Sign", "Villa Told to Sign" etc. that it becomes impossible to believe any of them until something more substantial emerges.

I'm sure Smith and his crew have their list of potential signings which they won't of course be sharing with the media so their links probably are 99% guess work.

I always like to back my manager with signings whoever that may be and I'm quite happy to go along with any signings that he makes this window too, which is usually quite different from the players that I had hoped to see come through the door or expected.

It's going to be a great window I believe and I'm looking forward to those shock signings that you didn't see coming along with a few that have already had a mention. I'm very optimistic for a good season next time around and with the fans back it should be great.

Without even seeing who we sign I'm putting my neck out and saying that we will get top six next season although I am under no illusion of just how hard that is to achieve.

Exciting times fellow Villans and whether you are happy with this season or not I predict a smile on our faces at the end of the next one. Stay positive lads because these owners are the real deal and we will succeed. UTV 👍👍.

Plenty of speculation again about Grealish and I expect the same every window now to be honest as pundits, ex-players etc try to unsettle him into moving to one of Sky's big six clubs. However, I will stick my neck out and say Grealish will be going nowhere this window and I feel 100% certain of that.

After last season Jack held lengthy talks with our owners and he was fully onboard with their ambition and plans for the future, he then swiftly signed a new 5 year contract.

Like every player Jack will want success but if Jack believes it is possible with Villa then he will be happy to continue with us on that quest, their is no reason this season to believe that Villa are going anywhere but forward so I fully expect him to stay. UTV 👍👍👍.

The biggest concern regarding Jack is when he’s going to start playing again. The reports emerging today suggest that’s not going to be in April. That doesn’t leave too many games. I’m starting to wonder if he’ll make another appearance for Villa this season. 🥺.

2.) 09 Apr 2021 14:12:10
I was wondering the same mark to be honest, and given Southgate isn’t Jack’s biggest fan I wonder if that puts an end to his chances of going to the Euro’s.

3.) 09 Apr 2021 14:50:31
John, I know from experience that shin splints are painful and can take some time to heal properly. Joe Lolley at Forest has an ongoing problem with them apparently, and I think his problem started more than a season ago.
I don’t think Deano will risk the career of the club’s prize asset. Unless he’s 100% certain he’s completely over the problem he won’t involve him. It would be unfortunate for Jack and England if he were to miss the Euro’s, but the likelihood appears to be increasing.

4.) 09 Apr 2021 14:57:53
Scotty and myself touched on this two days ago, and felt we should put a plan in place for life without Jack.
We would be in a strong position if we looked at it that way, we have to stop depending on one player, things have to change.
Stop Jack and you stop Villa, not a great position to be in is it.

5.) 09 Apr 2021 15:29:46
I'm sure the plan is to improve the team and bring better players in as we have been for the last two years, it takes time though and I think the club, generally speaking, have got their heads screwed on now and we're moving in the right direction. Big summer ahead.

6.) 09 Apr 2021 15:47:49
Dave, I think the short term plan should be to play like they did for the last 15 minutes of the Fulham game.
I think we should certainly be using the remaining games to look at using different tactics, formations and players.
With Jack not being available and Europe as good as out of reach, it’s a golden opportunity to formulate alternative game plans.

7.) 09 Apr 2021 17:02:31
Mark mate, I enjoyed the last 15 against Fulham very much, especially the end result.
And yes we should use the remaining games and players at our disposal, to try and formulate alternatives to the system and Jacks replacement, who we rely too much on.
So to be realistic, and to play like they did for the last 15 minutes against Fulham is not a lot to ask is it, we only did what we were expected to do after all.
I am not being pessimistic, I am just saying it as it is.
We can talk all day, but you know as well as I do, we are still very reluctant to try something new.
That can be looked at in two ways, we don`t know how to, or we are frightened to.

8.) 09 Apr 2021 17:39:14
Dave, they are a young side that are learning and gaining experience all the time. With time they will learn how to adapt in games and manage situations better than they currently are. I know the policy is to buy younger players with sell on potential but sometimes I can’t help feeling a few older/ experienced players might help. I think Moose made this point a few weeks ago.
I feel confident however that 3 or 4 quality signings in the Summer will ensure our progression with or without Jack in the team.

9.) 09 Apr 2021 18:52:47
Mark, of course you need experienced players in the side, I am not saying any different mate, it should be balanced, young and experience.
I think we are drifting off the point mate, it always appears we have no plans in place, plans to change games, it worked against Fulham fair play, but that is a rarity Mark.

10.) 09 Apr 2021 19:21:16
I think up until the Fulham game substitutions were made far too late in the games to have much influence on them.
Davis for instance only usually got 5, 10 minutes at the most, against Fulham he got 25 minutes, enough time to make a difference.

Just been reading an article suggesting that Wolves will be selling Neto, Neves and Adama this window to generate money. 👀👀

I tell you what Neto would be a great buy if we could get hold of him and if this is the case then I'm sure Villa will have some interest. 👍👍UTV.

Biggles Flies A Fokker

1.) 08 Apr 2021 09:33:20
Yes Neto would be a great addition, but I dare say there will be a long list of potential suitors if he does become available Biggles.

{Ed002's Note - You can add Neto to the list of players who won't be joining Aston Villa Mark. His agent is trying to get Juventus to make an offer.}

2.) 08 Apr 2021 10:22:03
You seem to have a lot of information Ed, I'd love to know your sources and I don't mean Daddies or Heinz 🤣🤣🤣. Any inside info about anyone Villa are seriously considering besides the usual paper and click bait nonsense?

{Ed002's Note - Because of the money situation this year many clubs are being very careful where they look to strengthen. Aston Villa have Neil Taylor (LB) and Ahmed Elmohamady (RB) out of contract this summer, so a decision needs to be taken over them – I expect both may leave and perhaps neither will need replacing. I think they need to add a striker, a CM and a LW if Grealish is to leave – perhaps someone like Ivan Toney, Ross Berkley and Milt Rashica. After that it will likely be down to replacing any other players who are leaving. I am also told that they have an exceptional talent in Carney Chukwuemeka that they need to hang on to, but are aware that he has been watched in Under 18 games by scouts representing many Premier League teams and at least one German side.
Aston Villa has shown an interest in the following players - but it looks like none will be joining. Mohamed Simakan (RB/CB) has agreed a move elsewhere. The club were looking at Fabio Babtista (RWB) to replace Elmohamady - but for now that is not going to happen. Odsonne Edouard (S) not going to be an option. Michael Olise (AM/W) has been looked at, but I have already explained that the chances of that happening are extremely remote.
??????? (RB) Aston Villa need to add a player in addition to Matty Cash. Perhaps they can do this from the U23s? Else they will need to buy.
Ross Barkley (AM/CM) Chelsea will likely accept something in the order of £15M.
Milot Rashica (LW/F) A decent Grealish replacement if he can be persuaded to make the move. There is interest from elsewhere and Aston Villa do not appear to be trying to do anything right now – but if there is a push from Manchester City for Grealish, then interest could return.
Ivan Toney (S) Aston Villa have looked at the player and, if Brentford don’t make promotion, know he will likely be available. They are not the only interested side but could be an attractive solution.
In terms of departures:
Tom Heaton (G) Aston Villa would like to keep him but he will need to sign a contract extension as the club do not want to see him run his contract down. Heaton may want to find out what options exist for him before making a decision.
Frederic Guilbert (RB/CB) Has been doing well at Strasbourg and will likely want to leave Aston Villa permanently in the summer and Strasbourg will want him to stay on but there could be interest from elsewhere.
Ahmed Elmohamady (RB) will leave in the summer I would think.
Bjorn Engels (CB) Royal Antwerp will look to picking him up for about €3M and have already declared an interest.
Conor Hourihane (CM) Swansea will look to buy him. Aston Villa need to make a decision.
Jack Grealish (LW/LM/AM) regardless of being a little Johnny Jerkoff when not on the pitch, there is no doubt Grealish is a very good player and selling him would provide the funds to help the club considerably. Manchester City and Manchester United may both look to the player next summer as his versatility is attractive to them - but MU would likely need to lose Pogba next summer to make it viable. Aston Villa don't want to sell and will ask £100M.

3.) 08 Apr 2021 10:27:17
Ps Ed002, just read that Coutinho out for the season with a knee injury 😳 bang goes my dream 😪😁.

{Ed002's Note - Gives him time to rest ready for his Aston Villa debut next season.}

4.) 08 Apr 2021 10:32:40
Another one bites the dust Ed., I didn’t think we would have much of a chance to be honest. Neves perhaps?

{Ed002's Note - You can add Neves to the list Mark.}

5.) 08 Apr 2021 11:51:37
Cheers Ed 👍 Chukwumeka has just been tied down to a new contract as have several of our u23s, so the future looks bright in that respect. As a few on here have said we'd like to see a few more given their 1st team bows this season and, if money is tight because of CV, will save us a tidy penny. Still would love to see Coutinho in a Villa shirt, but probably just wishful thinking on my part but you never know 🤷‍♂️.

{Ed002's Note - As I said, he will be available in the summer.}

6.) 08 Apr 2021 13:27:26
Where is all this Coutinho talk coming from :-) ?

I don't think he fits within our Transfer policy unless it was on loan perhaps?

Buendia is slowing becoming my must have signing of the summer, watched Norwich quite a bit recently and he is such a good player. Him, a winger and a new striker would really improve us in the summer.

7.) 08 Apr 2021 13:55:05
My imagination BK 😁 was just putting the question out there if he was available, which he is 👍.

8.) 08 Apr 2021 22:05:28
Of course Neto would attract interest from other clubs, he is after all a top quality player. I know it's unlikely that he will sign for Villa, I grant you that, but he signed for Wolves didn't he so anything is possible. 😂😁 UTV.

9.) 08 Apr 2021 23:21:02
Love it Moose 😂 We did come close to signing him before if memory serves me correctly?

10.) 09 Apr 2021 07:49:40
A lot of names have been mentioned as possibilities Biggles, Ed has however somewhat shrunk my list considerably 😁. It’s always nice to speculate, but we will just have to wait and see who comes and goes. Our owners are as ambitious as any out there, so hopefully we will see another successful recruitment drive this Summer 👍.

I wouldn't take too much notice of that one to be honest and for the majority of fans I don't think it would go down to well. If Smith has a bad season and the club go backwards then it's a different tale, but for now I would suggest that it is a media generated story. UTV.

I agree about the youngsters, nothing to lose this season. I personally would like to see young Barry feature up front with Ollie against Liverpool, he has already scored against them once and shown his ability so it would put the fear of god into them, also creating more space for Ollie.

Some of the youngsters may be ready for the challenge and others not, but either way the club have a very bright future and it won't be long before we have a constant influx of top class young stars breaking into the first team. UTV 👍👍.

I'm really looking forward to this window and next season, it's been a long, long time since we were in such a strong position. Financially we are stable and owned by two billionaires who appear to know what they are doing and know exactly what they want and are willing to back that with hard cash.

We have a good manager in Smith who has taken the club forward every season he has been here and if fans are willing to be a little more patient then we will have the strength in depth to compete at the highest level, we are short of that at the moment but this window will address a couple of those short falls although probably not all.

We are also a club going forward that mean business and we have shown that by holding on to our top stars, players from other clubs would also of noted this with gives us a much stronger hand in the transfer market, we are now an attractive club to join.

It is a great time to be a Villa fan and it's a relief to see the club finally being run in the right manner, hold on to your hats Villans we are in for a crazy ride but remember it won't all happen at once and there will still be ups and downs, but stay patient and support your players, club and manager and I promise you will have the ride of your life, glory days are just around the corner my friends. UTV

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.

The Sty has always been an embarrassment to the city and a major eyesore, place is falling apart. Manchester have two top clubs carrying the city's name and Birmingham have a tinpot tiny club who have rotted in the championship for a decade, the city will be pleased to rid themselves of the stigma when they close down I'm sure.

With the greatest of respect Villa4eva, it's easy to write off some players based on poor team performances but the likes of McGinn for instance will play so much better in a team that is functioning well, with Grealish not providing at the moment it has made a few players look average, to be fair we haven't exactly created much going forward in recent times, in fact in a lot of recent games we have conceded much of the possession which isn't going to make many players shine.

Next season we should be stronger in depth and hopefully have more creativity on the pitch which in turn will bring the likes of McGinn and co. back into the game a little more. So in fairness to the players I'm not going to judge them to heavily whilst the whole squad isn't firing on all cylinders but I do see your point and it is a valid opinion. UTV.

Although I too would like to see some experimenting in these last few games with the pressure of the season now off, I just don't visualise Smith making that many changes at once in regards to young players, he may throw the odd one an opportunity here and there but he is more likely to give 1 or 2 a twenty minute run out at the end of a game. He should switch the formation about a little too to give him some knowledge of his options for next season, just a thought but I don't see much happening against Man City other than damage limitation if I'm honest. UTV.
