Right fellow Villa fans (sufferers) we are 2 weeks into the summer transfer window and we have signed 1 player so far. Great. No issues up to now.
However, we are 19 days away from our first friendly (Walsall) and then a run of 5 games in 14 days (all abroad) before we start the EPL season on the 12th Aug.
Ideally we must surely have made our 'big' signings before we leave the UK around 20th July otherwise we'll be trying to sign players during the hectic pre-season games.
No issues yet but key dates are looming.

Agree AV, however we shouldn't rush, in case we buy poorly. Quality providing we get it is usually worth waiting, however sooner rather than later is the order of the day. I just hope we make a few more signings than the last transfer window, (I accept January is more difficult to get players to move) , remember we have bought some quality in very recent times, Tielemens, Moreno, Kamara, Carlos, so nothing to suggest this won't continue.

Monchi officially starts on July 1st, I expect we will get busy then as he can’t take credit for any signings beforehand

Yes, I expect our main business to begin in the next 7 - 14 days once Monchi has served his gardening leave.

Don’t forget the transfer window doesn’t start until July 1 on the continent so no new players from those clubs can arrive before then.

Hi fellow Villans.
Dont get much opportunity to join in these days but as AKA states the window is still closed in Europe.
My hope is that Unai is a smooth poker player and is keeping his cards flat on the table.
Too often we seem to lose the race when chasing a player so I hope that the cards we have are the right cards and when revealed will all have names on them that move us upwards.
I am waiting with expectancy to read that Unai has played a blinder and comes up trumps.

I’m not sure the window is closed across all of Europe ‘til the 1st July.
Spurs have signed a keeper today from Italy.
Anyway, as I said, the next 7-14 days will/could be very interesting.

Closed window doesn't stop a club selling, they just can't officially sign someone. This is why we've moved our window close date again because clubs were fed up of losing players when they could no longer replace them.
