Until contracts are signed, everything you read regarding transfers at any level players or management has to be assumed as press speculation. I just hope this latest set back doesn't set the trend for our ambitions to sign the best. First game of the season in August will probably tell us how successful we think we have been in the transfer market, ultimately we will only really find out after a couple of months in to the season. I just hope our European possibilities or lack of don't significantly affect us getting the quality we obviously need to push on.

To be honest on current form we are 2nd or 3rd why would we want a squad overhaul? Add a few quality additions yes but I'm mainly happy with the 1st 11!

We'll have other options Caffu, the majority of us didn't know who this guy was 2 weeks ago - By all accounts he's an absolute beast and would have been a sensational appointment but Villa will move on - Fully agree, nobody knows anything until it's signed, all these players we've been linked with, 99% BS, Villa play their cards close to their chest and while it was obvious Emery wanted him (he discussed him in a presser I believe) he won't be the only target we have. On to the next one :-)

Except they are third since Emery has come in and not strayed from that. If we'd had him from the start of this season he probably would have proven you wrong.
Obviously next season is likely to be a different matter but Chelsea finishing mid table proves that anything can happen to those top sides. City are probably the only ones you can hang your hat on being in the top 4 but they will need to start replacing some aging stars before too long.

Agreements apparently all done, contracts signed.
Then for some strange reason he comes out with 'made a promise not to sign anyone from Barca'.
With a couple of players on Unai's list from Barca.
I like to think the upper management have said broker a deal with Barcelona or we terminate.

Is it just me or has Barcelona’s transfer business being pretty poor since he went there, they are in a financial mess, even though they picked up a few free agents, plus how difficult can it be to sign players for Barca, god knows most players would jump at the chance, I don’t think it’s the end of the world Emery will have other names on his list

He's built a league winning team on free transfers, all be it exceptionally talented free transfers Whack but take your point, I think his reputation was built at previous clubs. We'll move on, go for plan B, wouldn't be surprised if it is Antonio Cordon unless he's been snapped up already?

rumours today say Barcelona dof wanted 100percent control of transfers but our chairmen didn't want too do that because they trust unai and didn't want too disrespect him.
