Anyone notice a low key game at Coventry involving ex Villa players and a team from Shanghai at the weekend? Lots of talk about good business and football links between Birmingham and China? Something in the wind? A Shanghai company also owns MG at Longbridge.

ssn cleverly loan for rest of season

He has 12 months left on Man Utd contract so he is playing for his next big move which hopefully will benefit us this season.

He has signed on loan for the season with a 6 month break clause in January, so does this mean he can go back to united then?

So both Cleverley and Canales have ruled out moves to Villa due to wages so I guess our windows finished.

shocking. cleverly is on his way to Everton as we speak.
Canales is holding out for a move to Valencia :(

By this rate its going to be Titus Bramble.

If Cleverly wants to sign for Everton because they will pay him more then I wouldn't want him at villa anyway. If he can't shine at Manchester United (or England) then he is unlikely to set the world alight at villa. Shame we haven't signed anybody, but the most significant fact is keeping hold of Vlaar. Plus that's a real sign of a player that has loyalty. Onwards and Upwards.

Hear vlar only staying to see out his contract to get a bigger move in the summer so will see loyalty then. Great he is staying tho. Seems PL was trying to get someone as reported he is still working so may grab somin. Early night then.

The whole cleverley saga simply reinforces the public idea of ht a fesional footballers is, greedy, overrated, self motivated, untrustworthyegotists pampered by any weak, insipideasily duped football club can fall prey to, ki, hoolahan, ki, cleverly, and more, WE ARE ASTON VILLA why are we snubbed by players who are generally generally, u nfit to represent us som me bo is failing in their job of talent to bring punters and money through the door

Villa and PL are absolutely right not to cave in to Cleverley's wage demands. £70k-£80 a week? The kid should be grateful we've met his transfer fee in the first place because no one else had, and offered him a chance of regular football to get his career started again. Money obviously a more important factor to him and at the moment we need people where playing football comes first.

Unexpectedly Cleverley appears to value himself more than united, villa or Everton do. Now he can sit on the bench at man u and run his contract down.

Manchester United's preference to sell had nothing to do with Cleverley not signing. I understand a bid was accepted from Villa.

Have seen reports cleverley deal could still happen, waiting for premier league approval
