Believable6 Unbelievable8

What about Naismith??

Agree3 Disagree7

Bent,Gabby,Weimann?
Gabby & Weimann gave their all against Chelsea yesterday and we were unlucky to get some points.

Agree8 Disagree1

Who are these two strikers who do they play for now

Giroud plays for Montpellier and Rhodes plays for Huddersfield

villa fans its so said what has happend to our captain, but we still have to be realistic about our manager, he simply is not good enough. We cant defend against set plays, which is one of the basics in football. If we dont wake up, its championship football next year. Our run in is more than very hard, and this manager is not capable of getting us out of a relagation battle, cause mark my word thats whats going to happen in the next two weeks.

Believable13 Unbelievable0

Look i am sorry but yesterday vs Chelsea. We were not too bad at set plays! we played like we did under MON - good football!

Agree1 Disagree11

Are you mad. We conceded 2 goals from a corner yesterday, We concede more goals than any other team in the prem from set plays. wake up mate

Agree10 Disagree0

Conceded the most from set plays this season and we have had over 170 corners this season and we're the only team who hasn't scored from one. What is he doing in training to make us this bad at set pieces?

Agree10 Disagree0

Sure he is a 100% clown. the owner really those not care about the club hireing that duck. im loseing more and more interest in the club every week. i really think there is a good possibility that we will be relegated. i cant see where the points are going to come from. liverpool will beat us next week. stoke is tough. no chance against utd. martin oneils return villa park, sunderland win because of what the club done to him. bolton and wba possible results but all depends on form and we certanly dont have that at the moment. no chance aganist spurs and i wouldnt like to be reliying on a result at norwich to stay up. villa fans we have got to get together and get this clown out ASAP.

Agree7 Disagree0

Its the first season i remember in recent history where i dread the weekend and dread watching us play. this is a sad time. i live in Ireland and we really need our supporters in England to start huge protests , if we dont get rid of this person we SERIOUSLY might go down this season. please protest , save us!

Aston Villa are interested in Spartak Moscow striker Artem Dzyuba for around 7m although he's not a prolific scorer with just 8 goals in 28 games. This is because Bas Dost is rumored to be not keen on a move to Villa

Aston Villa are keen to talk to Manchester United's 19 yr old defender Ritchie de Laet, who is out of contract in June

Aston Villa target Granit Xhaka 19 yr old midfielder from FC Basel.

Villa also hoping to land Guthrie on a free from Newcastle

Also Martin O'neill is hoping to sign Dunne and Agbonlahor in the summer

Believable2 Unbelievable10

Agbonlahor still have 4 years remaining on his contract and he said he wants to finish his career at villa park. he's not leaving.

Just wanted to pass on my best to Petrov. Hope he can put up a fight and recover fully. If i was at the game today I would stand and clap at 19 minute mark with you boys. I'm sure the Chelsea faithful will.

True gentleman of the game. All the best for today and the rest of the season.

Stan Petrov what can I say a true gent, ultimate pro our loyal captain. All villa fans should pull together for the rest of the season forget the squabbles with the manager and the owner, give stan something to be proud of. I hope from the bottom of my heart that Stan pulls through our thoughts go out to him and his family. I hope we see you in a villa shirt soon yes villa are in a battle to survive in the premier league but that's just a game. Stan has a bigger fight on his hands which makes villas fight look futile. So here's to you Stan god be with you. Alan & Debbie Lowe

Gabby Agbonlahor is set to snub moves away this summer to stay with his beloved aston villa.
Richard Dunne tops MON's Sunderland wishlist with Agbonlahor.
Agbonlahor will stay and Dunne will go.

Believable10 Unbelievable2

Could not care anymore, lost total interest in a club i love so much, once McLeish has gone i will return, I know 25 season ticket holders are not renewing and i reckon there are a lot more out there as well

Agree7 Disagree5

I will happily buy a dumper truck to deliver the fat lump Dunne to Sunderland

Agree4 Disagree1

28 Mar 2012 16:51:07
Aston Villa target Granit Xhaka.

The Basel midfielder 19 yrs old for 7m

Believable5 Unbelievable4

As said were not a big enough club AM could not attract any good players

Agree6 Disagree2

Rubbish...like he would sign for us

Agree5 Disagree2

Mcleish out send your ST Pack back to the club with the words McLeish OUT written all over it

Agree6 Disagree1

Think if you are are half decent player with any ambition then Villa would hold little attraction. At best the target is premiership survival - probably in 17th place. As a ST holder I certainly won't be rushing to sign up for next season early, despite the discount ! It's about time Lerner & Co understood what makes the Villa fans tick and, more importantly, what p***** them off.

Agree9 Disagree1

27 Mar 2012 13:45:55
Apparently that "prince" that was looking around Bodymoor Heath and Villa Park is a personal friend of Lerner's and it is a case of when not if he will buy the club he's just waiting for the right time. Apparently that trip to the Cleveland Browns was just a way for Lerner to get everyone out of the way so the prince could look around without anyone from the first-team being there.

Believable0 Unbelievable12

Doubt it but we can but hope !. lets hope if rdoes leave he takes Mc useless with him

Agree10 Disagree0

Hilarious how people think we are going to get a "Man City" takeover. Wake up

Agree11 Disagree1

I don't find it funny I find it frustrating as I desperatly want it to be true but sadly know it isn't and know we are fast becoming a joke. We are no longer a big club, hell we are not even a midtable club for the past two seasons. now even our rumoured transfer targets are calling us "not very good". bad times to be an Aston Villa fan and we have Lerner and his minions are to blame.

Agree9 Disagree1

He never called us not very good wake up

Agree2 Disagree1

26 Mar 2012 13:36:46
edds; any idea who are linked with, and any truth in this so called take over {Ed001's Note - I have no clue about any takeover, only thing I know is that Lerner is unhappy with the direction the club is taking. He spent money hoping to do what Newcastle are doing, but MON failed and now the gates are down and money is tight, it is difficult to invest right now. But I have not heard of any definitive interest in Villa, though AEG have held exploratory talks with a number of clubs, Villa being one.
As for players, I had heard talk of a season long loan move for Jack Robinson from Liverpool being lined up for next season. That is the only new rumour I have right now, but it is still a long way from the start of the transfer window yet.}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Ed : Gates are down at Villa because of the appointment Lerner made at the start of the season. I know of a number of season ticket holders who didn't renew their season tickets purely due to the appointment of a ex Blues manager and many others who are unlikely to renew at the end of this season due to the dire brand of football we have seen this season. Pains me to say it but seems to me that Lerner & Co have settled for mediocrity ! {Ed001's Note - I agree Lerner hasn't helped himself, but gates were dropping anyway, so you can't blame that entirely.}

Agree7 Disagree0

I think we will be swapping places with the blues come the end of the season. got some hard games coming up and the management of the club just dont seem worried,

Agree2 Disagree2

The gates have dropped dramatically because of the appointment of McLeish, no other reason, the club is advertising that it is lacking ambition. Villa fans tend to vote with there feet. lerner needs to go and so does his 2 sidekicks

Agree10 Disagree0

26 Mar 2012 09:15:24
Now I really hate the millions of managerial changes that happens to the Premier League (And football in general) and I think managers should get at least 2 or 3 years before they get up for the "sack", but I think the appointment of Alex Mcleish in the first place was wrong. It feels rather bitter in a way and someone fresh should come in I think. Aston Villa have an AWESOME squad if you really look at it with promising young English players as well, but Mcleish isn't the man.

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Mcleish is a joke and a very bad one at that

Agree13 Disagree1

Awesome squad ? Give your head a wobble. We have the potential to have a good squad cos we had one before but now lack of investment leaves us too reliant on youngsters (no matter how good they are)

Agree4 Disagree1

Don't think Lerner has the guts or the interest to do the right thing by Villa fans. McLeish plays second rate players, employs second rate tactics and, surprise, surprise, we turn in a second rate performance. The manager is solely responsible for the performance of the team, he chooses who plays so if they fail to perform drop em ! the youngsters can't do any worse. Weiman should have started ahead of Heskey on Saturday but everyone knows that other than McLeish

Agree12 Disagree1

I agree 100% with this last post. mcleish is not a premier league manager. he got them relegated TWICE in 3 seasons! he buys championship level players in order to transform teams into relegation battlers which is the tactic of an unambitious man who aims for plaudits for "keeping clubs up" when he himself turns them into relegation possibilities. hes a bad manager , who plays awful football and makes terrible team picks. please sell the club lerner and take that useless person with you

Agree5 Disagree0

25 Mar 2012 17:47:12
Villa have been linked with Bosmans Pavel Pogrebnyak and Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones, not forgetting links to Bayern's Olic

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I'd prefer Bas Dost i think.

Agree7 Disagree2

Bas dost thinks villa are not very good !

Agree1 Disagree3

It's in the news today that Bas Dost will snub us as he doesn't think we are any good. Spot on quite frankly. We are f****** awful and will be going down if we carry as we are.

Agree4 Disagree0

25 Mar 2012 17:42:41
Aston Villa have expressed interest in Bas Dost, the top scorer in the Eredivisie. The Heerenveen striker has scored 23 times thus far this season.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Good player but won't come to us when we're playing in the championship and that's where we are heading at the moment. All the teams below us are picking up points and playing well and have easier run in. We are in trouble yet I still go week in and week out to watch some of the worst football I have ever seen

Agree4 Disagree0

25 Mar 2012 16:46:39
looks like we are after da bost fom hereeven, I Think mcliesh should go for snodgrass, matty phillips , dann and robbiejkeane.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

25 Mar 2012 10:16:28
"We still have a few more points than people below us and we need to get further up the table. But, if people expected us to come here and win, you know, we have to be realistic," McLeish told reporters.

McLeish GO NOW!

Believable12 Unbelievable3

The man is way out of his depth and he needs to go now

Agree10 Disagree3

For a certain ginger **** to say he never expected anything from the arsenal game shows he aint got a clue hes tredding water and unfortunatley hes going to eventually pull us under please MCLEISH walk away

Agree9 Disagree3

22 Mar 2012 23:07:06
ed who do you think we will actually sign in the summer? {Ed001's Note - no idea, it is only March! Villa, like most clubs, are busy scouting, very few moves have been made. Matty Phillips is one the club have looked at very closely and Tom Ince, also of Blackpool. Clyne of Palace and McLeary(sp?) of Forest have also been looked at very closely. There has also been another Forest youngster, I think it is Chambers but can't remember off the top of my head, that has been watched. That is all I can think of right now. That is not a comprehensive list, just the ones in the Championship that have been looked at in the last few weeks. The full list of scouted players will be huge and only get whittled down after the season, when the club makes its moves.}

Believable5 Unbelievable0

So sort of what we did with ashley young then?
get a championship sort of player (even though we bought him off watford when they just left EPL)
matty phillips & tom ince look good and so does Clyne.
i can't say i like the others really. {Ed001's Note - no, they are just some of the players I know you have scouted, there are scouts all over Europe doing the same and teams near the bottom of the Prem get watched too. Those are for the next Young-type signing, when the season is over, the 3 that go down will have a fight on their hands to keep players.}

Agree3 Disagree0

If Wolves go down which I hope they do, expect Villa to pounce for Matt Jarvis who is underrated and is always a consistent performer and can provide the type of service bent expects

Agree7 Disagree2

22 Mar 2012 13:18:46
A lot of Villa fans think we are safe, but i still think we need at least another 4 points, does anybody know what points will mean safety this season

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Traditionally, 40 points has been the figure to guarantee safety and given the recent results of teams like Blackburn, Bolton and QPR this could well be required this season. Without doubt we need at least two more wins and a couple of draws to relax, even though we may still finish 17th !!

Agree6 Disagree2

Id say we need more tbh. Blackburn are finding form and tbh if qpr can beat liverpool who knows what will happen. Also i reckon the terrible thing that happened to muamba will spur on the bolton players to play for his honor. Add all these to the run of games we have (which i dont think we will take a point from) then all signs point downward.

Agree1 Disagree3

ED any thoughts or stats you know of {Ed001's Note - I am not a fan of stats, I tend to avoid them if I can. As I look on it, Villa are still not safe, each time they fail to win the pressure builds and it gets harder the next time around. Drawing does little to relieve that, I just hope the manager feels the same way or the end of the season will be nailbiting! Still, Villa should have enough about them to finish above QPR, Wigan, Wolves and Bolton, who have all been awful this season.}

Agree1 Disagree1

21 Mar 2012 10:42:25
Just looked on tribalfootball.com and i dunno how reliable it is, but it reckons N'zogbia (Rated 9 million) + Cash (About 6 million) swap for Olivier Giroud at montepellier (Rated at 15 million).

To me it sounds BS unless we are selling bent which we aint. We need Zog cuz our lack of wingers and creative mids.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Sounds good but it is probably BS.
Try sign Sessegnon and sell N'Zog.
Good work then!

Agree2 Disagree3

21 Mar 2012 07:51:43
takeover will happen in the summer. mc muppet has been told to offload ireland n zogbia warnock dunne and pefrov to bring in as much as possible for lerner to recoupe possibly bent to liverpool as well. we must bring in free players and use youth for our squad as takeover wont happen till near end of window so need to have a squad in place. expect 2 big signings at end of window sim to how man city did it. mc muppet will be give his chance as well.
this is fact. comes from good source.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

Complete BS show us proof or stick to the meds

Agree6 Disagree2

So we are now being bought out in the summer, believe it when i see it and i honestly cannot see Randy lerner selling up now. US investors with the odd exception invest over a long period not just a couple of years

Agree8 Disagree5

The biggest load of s**te i have ever heard sorry

New York Red Bulls have agreed a deal to sign Stephen Ireland.
The deal is believed to be worth around £10m.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

I wish we would get 10 million for him

Agree5 Disagree1

Charlie n'zogbia is going to PSG for £14m
he does not want to play defensive football.

Agree5 Disagree2

It's true about Stephen Ireland joining NY red bulls there's been no mention of a fee can't see it been anything like 10ml.
Michael Ballack's agent Michael Becker was teyung to get him move to Ny but turnaround out 3rd foreign spot on roster is going to Ireland. Apparently deal was done in October according to Becker.

Maybe we should go for ballack on a free xD

It was a jk no need to get on the offensive

Agree1 Disagree8

It is called a rumour site not fact

Agree7 Disagree2

Rumour yes but don't make stuff up or everyone might as well be posting we are signing Messi, Ronaldo & Neymar FACT!

Agree3 Disagree0

Dont be so over dramatic. Im sure bertrand would choose us over any other teams anyway. He would have more chance of first team football in prem then anywhere else, unless he dropped down.

Put into prospective our result against Fulham Swansea win 3_0 at Fulham AM must go

Believable6 Unbelievable5

When we beat fulham they were on a high after winning 5-0 against wolves, swansea beat them after losing to us, so they may have been low on confidence, give mccleish a chance at least until he has a deccent amount of money to spend

Agree5 Disagree6

AM is doing ok.
beat bolton on tuesday & we close in on the higher up teams.
wish you well muamba!

Agree6 Disagree6

You mean you want a team of huttons ,keep your money in your bank Mr Learner

Agree1 Disagree7

Sorry but i do not think hutton is doing bad recently.
he has been solid in recent times.

Agree9 Disagree4

I am not for AM but i find pointless digs do not do the argument any good at all, I dont want him to manage the team because i find the football dire. This has nothing to do with anything else he is or has done as a person. Hutton i hate to say has played well recently VP regular

Agree3 Disagree1

As a villa fan you hate to say a player is doing well ,that makes no sense at all !

Agree1 Disagree6

Villa fan but i'm sorry to say swansea are a far better team at the moment than us just being honest

Agree8 Disagree2

Swansea have only just been promoted, this means they are not a better side, probably a better organised or even a better team ethic, but for a team to be better they need to be established in the league for a number of years.

Hutton has been awful and a lot of Villa fans myself included did not want him at the club, i hate to say it is an expression related to being proven wrong, which i feel i am beginning to be, i know a number of other fans will take a lot longer but he is improving

Agree4 Disagree2

Are norwich better then us? even though we beat them? and are albion better then us just because they are above us?

Agree1 Disagree0

No they just have a better manager who gets his tactics right.

If mcleish doesnt get it right soon, Lamber for villa!!! UTV

Agree3 Disagree0

Defo!! he pushes the players forward till the final whistle blows trying to get more goals not sit back and defend after 1 goal!

ive heard that we might be getting rid of warnock, who would we be likely to get to replace him ed? {Ed001's Note - you've shown interest in Clyne, he can play at left back, maybe him?}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ed do you think there would be a chance of us getting an established premier league full back? {Ed001's Note - there aren't a lot available, certainly Fabio Aurelio will be available, but Villa have not shown any interest in him as of yet. Apart from that, it will be picking up a player from a relegated club, Wigan's left back is one McLeish rates highly, so I would expect a move for him if they go down.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Would be a great addition to our side cud cost an arm dow

Agree0 Disagree0

Or olsson from blackburn? {Ed001's Note - yes, though I have not heard of any interest in him from Villa, though you have defo been scouting Blackburn, most people assumed it was for Hoilett.}

Agree2 Disagree1

Scott Dann from Blackburn

Agree4 Disagree2

I rate bertrand at chelsea as a gd prem left back. We should get him to replace warnock.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Mar 2012 14:29:25
Robbie keane will return in summer along with roger johnson and jimerix from river plate

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Agree with keane but not the other two. scott dann will by coming in.

Agree4 Disagree2

Keane would be good.
i'd be happy with signing pogrenyak, keane & dann - summer signings done!

Agree4 Disagree2

14 Mar 2012 21:01:52
danny guthrie meant to be brought in at the end of the season as his contract runs out and he raely gets any playing time for newcastle anymore so he wants to leave and villa are first in line to hae him

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Former manu and liverpool youth. Could do even better with us then he is at newcastle. We can give him more time on the pitch.

Given
Hutton Dunne Clark Warnock
N'zogbia Petrov Guthrie Holman
Bent Agbonlahor

in a 4-4-2 formation with a bench of

Guzan
(If he signs a new contract)
Collins
Bannan
Ireland
Gardner
Albrighton
Weimann

Agree2 Disagree11

Ireland on 80k a week, sat on the bench? I don't think so...

It has to be first team, key player, or he will be off in the summer.

Agree6 Disagree2

G Gardner is our best player and he will play

Agree4 Disagree2

Gardner is better than guthrie.
Johnson & Pogrenyak anyone?
Johnson can play just wide (like a winger/shadow striker).
If Pogrenyak came in - Bent & Pogrenyak up front.
Gabby just behind - Johnson on the bench.
With ireland,jenas,beye,heskey,delfouneseo wages all available.
anything is possible!

Agree1 Disagree6

I believe the line for next season is more likely to be:
------------------Given-----------------
Hutton--cuellar/clark----Dann---Wanock
---------------Gardner-----------------
Agbonlahor-----------Ireland-----Holman
--------------------Pogrenyak----------
--------------Bent---------------------

I believe this is more likely as Dunn, Collins,Heskey and Petrov are on the way out and Cuellar will be given a new contract

Agree6 Disagree4

The starting line up will be this if we make some possible signings

--------------------given--------------------
hutton------cuellar-----dunn-------?-------
N'zogbia--ireland--guthrie--holman
------------------------pogrenyak----------
----------------bent-------------------------
bench would possible be:
gardner gabby clark albrighton bannon weimann and guzan

this is if we get the signings we have been linked with.

Agree2 Disagree3

Petrov will stay at villa.
gardner is better than guthrie mate!
clark can play centre-mid too!
lichaj maybe at left-back!
ireland is on 80k p/w - he's gone in the summer!

Agree1 Disagree3

Ireland wont leave

Agree2 Disagree3

Gardner aint better than guthrie.
clark aint good enough yet.
lichaj has had hardly any game time.
ireland aint leaving mcleash has already said he aint.

Agree1 Disagree3

Gardner offers a lot more then guthrie and his better, we need class players not rejects from newcastle why waste money on wages etc when they are no better than what we have, let the young players mature!!

Agree3 Disagree0

Ireland hasn't performed enough to get a deal with another club worth 80k a week we've only seen glimpses of that form so he'll stay where his bread is buttered!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2012 18:07:55
What does everyone think of the rumour that the ginge is looking at ex bluenose and fellow ginge Andy Johnson on a free at the end of the season?

Believable4 Unbelievable4

I hope not

Agree6 Disagree0

Andy Johnson is a slaphead not a ginge lol but yeah I probably wouldn't want him.

Agree2 Disagree0

Johnson cost Fulham £10m.
He would be on about 35k p/w @ villa.
he would make a good bench boy if needed to fill in.
i know weimann is good but another season or two until he hits the ground running to begin with.
pogrenyak would be upfront with benty with gabby as left mid/shadow striker.
hopefully!

Agree1 Disagree1

Andy johnson is rubbish im not been funny but if villa are setting there sights on johnson i think we are going backwards we should be getting better then him thats what us villa fans want better players then we have now

Agree3 Disagree0

13 Mar 2012 07:22:03
With Stephen Ireland on his way out to the MLS with New York Red Bulls and his 80k a week wages.
Holman is his replacement.

Heskey is on his way out on a free transfer.
Ravel Pogrebnyak is set to also join on a free transfer!

Ireland & Heskey out
Pogrebnyak & Holman in - good work eck!

Believable3 Unbelievable8

Ireland ain't going anywhere him and b zogbia are finally playing well and hopefully showing a glimpse of what is to come, pogrebnyak has been on roaders and mcleishes radar for sometime others included olic, dempsey, kaboul and pilacious

Agree5 Disagree2

Brett Holman will play on the wing

Agree5 Disagree2

12 Mar 2012 18:12:07
Aston Villa have signed AZ Striker Brett Holman in advance for the summer.
He will be holding up the ball for Villa (replacing Heskey - but this player is actually good!)

Heard it here first!
Tom

Believable7 Unbelievable2

He's a winger you donut

Agree9 Disagree1

He's a second striker with the ability to go on the wing

Agree5 Disagree4

No he always plays on the wing

Agree6 Disagree2

Brett Holman

Aston Villa have signed their first new player for next season after agreeing a pre-contract deal with Brett Holman.

The Australian attacker will join the claret and blues in the summer when his current deal with Dutch league leaders AZ Alkmaar expires.

Holman, 27, is an attacking midfielder who can play through the centre as a second striker or operate on the wing.

Agree5 Disagree0

He prefers the left wing the most

Agree0 Disagree1

12 Mar 2012 16:30:20
I'm pretty certain the "unnamed player" that we're signing on a Bosman transfer in the summer is Ivica Olic who's contract with Bayern Munich runs out at the end of the season.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Actually forget that it's actually Aussie international Brett Holman who currently plays for AZ.

Hey you Guys, looking for further info on a possible Loan deal to Ipswich, of Brad Guzan the yank keeper, everdently he's signed a new deal at Villa, but it was a very strong rumour, of a loan out deal, as he's seen as 3rd choice at the moment, and please no abusive reply's, we tractor boys have always had a good banter with the Villa fans.

On another note when are Villa likely to shift out that useless waste of space scottish manager you currently have, i can see him taking Villa down if he's left in charge much longer.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Guzan is 2nd choice keeper.
Most likely if any keeper you will take on loan will be Benji Siegrist who is a starlet keeper.

Aren't the Qatari's only taking over if Premier League status is guaranteed? Surely today's win pushes us that little bit nearer to safety...

Believable2 Unbelievable4

QIA aren't taking over Villa.
Even if they were - it really would be a shame to spend more money to try get back to European football again.

Agree2 Disagree6

Why would they buy villa when they brought psg.

Agree4 Disagree2

I dont know how many times this keeps on popping up, QIA are not buyin Aston villa, the comapny tthat wants us is Qatar Petroleum, this is the only rumour that had any substance because it made the national press in november

Agree1 Disagree1

Aren't Qatar Petroleum owned by the QIA?

Agree4 Disagree0

No completely different

Agree1 Disagree2

So what evidence do you have to support your argument that it is QP that is interesting in buying? All I've heard is QIA this and QIA that...

Agree1 Disagree1

The qia links have all come from aston villa fan sites, Qatar petroleum interest was in one of the nationals, but it said at the time Randy turned them down. I believe Qatar petroleum was also the people looking at Blackburn. QIA have there club in PSG, Qatar Sports Investment own Malaga, Qatar Petroleum are the next big investor in football, where it will be nobody knows.

Agree0 Disagree1

QIA are the ones interested in villa to prove it look up QIA on wikipedia and it says there that they inquired about the purchase of aston villa it also says nothing else has been mentioned about it since all im gonna say is only time will tell but this may be a huge coincidence but cental news anounced qatar are on the verge of announcing a 150 million investment in the summer and the rumours are randy wants around 150 million for the club and that QIA said they will take over in the summer once we have secured safety in the prem???

Agree0 Disagree2

Oh well if it was on Wikipedia it must be true....and not a total load of old *****cks instead

Agree2 Disagree0

I never said if a take over was true or not if you read it properly then i wrote it says on wikipedia that qia INQUIRED about the purchase of aston villa and that NOTHING ELSE HAS BEEN MENTIONED!!

Agree1 Disagree0

I know what you wrote mate. My comments are more about the accuracy of Wikipedia than anything else. That said, I still think the whole arabian knight in shining armour rumour is a load of old b****cks (God, I hope I'm wrong)

Agree2 Disagree1

Yeah I could go and change their wikipedia to "we are not interested in aston villa". It means nothing

Agree1 Disagree0

heskey will be offered 1 year contract at reduced wage est to be 20 -30 grand per wk also most players coming in during the summer will be free agents a few loanees and 2/3 bought.hleb is one free agent that will sign almost done deal.clarke and bannan will both be sold to generate extra money for transfers .

Believable0 Unbelievable19

Sums up the state of our club. Our bright future prospects are going to be sold and we are keeping the worst striker we have had since Bosko Balaban and getting a burnt out player in Hleb. Dont reply saying give McLeish and Lerner a chance. If this rumour is true, shows what a s**t state our once beautiful club has gotten into. Total incompetent b*****ds running our club in to the ground

Agree7 Disagree0

This is a lot of rubbish.
clark & bannan are staying 110% no joke.. you muppet and heskey is leaving for sure.

What a person Heskey is defo leaving and clark and Bannan are staying what a t**t

Anyone reckon there is any truth the rumour that Villa have been monitoring Levante boss Juan Ignacio Martinez? Don't forget it was the Spanish press who linked us with signing David Villa LOL.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

I WISH

Agree4 Disagree0

Juan Ignacio Martinez can't even keep Levante in the top spanish division - No thank you! {Ed001's Note - you say that like Levante are Barcelona! You do realise that Levante are one of the little sides in Spain right?}

Agree3 Disagree1

Ye i do ed but he is new to levante too. {Ed001's Note - and your point is? It is like having a go at Holloway for failing to keep Blackpool in the Prem, utterly senseless.}

Agree4 Disagree0

Levante are 4th in the league

Joe Lewis from peterborough or matt gilks is being brought in or manuel Almunia from arsenal as he hasnt played in ages and villa are first in line to get his signature.

Randy Lerner has given the villa lads a pep-talk.
This follows the suit of Steve Morgan (Wolves) and Roman Abramovic (Chelsea) who have been responsible for the last 2 EPL sackings.

QIA Takeover guys may luck at bringing in jose mourinho as there first set of business

Believable3 Unbelievable14

Ha.
If you're going to do stuff like this, at least make an effort to make it believable.

Agree13 Disagree0

Well it would be a dream come true but we really could not even attract Martinez right now.

Agree12 Disagree2

Ha. 0/10 for effort.

Agree11 Disagree0

Any one who actually believes this rumour are not villa fans seriously it is only a self made rumour with no substance to it so its not going to happen and never will end of !

Agree7 Disagree0

Mr Lerner has a hotel booking in Brighton tomorrow night...Brighton v Cardiff... Gus or Malkay??

Agree3 Disagree3

More likely he is a closet raver on the gay scene to be honest... still better than the QIA Mourinho rumour

Kev, face facts! You and Alex have it coming...the old tin tac mate! Three front runners will be sounded out this week. My money is on a certain South American currently doing business on the South coast.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

I wish this was true, hate myself for wanting someone to get the sack so much, but Randy lerner cannot possibly let him stay on. The stadium will be empty next year, I know of 10 definite cancellations of ST's and each of those know of another 10 etc etc, they will have an empty stadium from the off

I am reading all the posts on this site regarding Villa.

I want to make this clear: -

1) he is NOT telling players to run back and defend (no manager will ever do that)
2) we are clear of the relegation battle
3) we have a lack of quality, we will be in the EPL next season, new team next year
4) give McLeish & Lerner a chance! Lerner is committed & he is NOT leaving!.
McLeish is not in control fully , failure is down to the squad NOT Mcleish' grow up!

Kev

Believable9 Unbelievable16

Dear Kev, Chelsea have sacked AVB and are fifth! Why on earth would your board not have the nads to sack The Ginger One! He was never the right man for the job in the first place. I think you have to grow up a bit and take stock of what is really going on at your club. No one wants managers to be sacked but it's a results business and boy You are not getting them... Fact! You are a big club and you shouldn't be where you are! Stop the rot before its too late and get a manager in that will play a brand of football that your fans deserve. I support Brighton but always have an eye on Villa results as my good old dad supported them. Come on Kev, you know im talking sense!

Agree14 Disagree2

KEV as i said befor you no nothing about football you must be a blues fan,by the way you say sack AM on the banter page ,

Agree9 Disagree1

Yes yes i know, that is a while ago when i was frustrated and we all have a right to be.
but when you look at the big picture - what can a manager really do!?
I bet if you gave Sir Alex charge of the Indonesian football team - it would make no difference!
Chelsea always chop & change.
We have already spent £12m on managers - getting another one could be deadly. (in 2 seasons)
We do not have the quality anymore, no barry, milner, young, downing, bent injured.
Give mcleish until november then review , ok?

Kev
p.s you will all regret what you say when mcleish proves you all wrong or maybe me wrong - time will tell!

Agree2 Disagree9

Your very quiet Kev??

Agree9 Disagree0

Kev are you alex in disguise?

Agree10 Disagree0

If he is not playing defensive negative football, why do we always play with one man up front alone

Do you think either Lerner, Mcleish or any of the over paid/under performing players give a toss about how we the money paying fan feels every weekend after it has been spoilt by them? How it feels to have the mickey taken out of you at work on a Monday morning by everyone? How it hurts and frustrates more the longer this joke goes on? How low this embarressment of a team makes us feel? Probably not. Do you think they care?

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Usless again. Mcleish HAS to go. If we cannot beat Wigan or Blackburn who are both terrible it's because of his tactics, choice of team and substitutions. If we do not get 6 points from the next two games we really are in a relagation scrap with the next few fixtures. Relly can't see where we will pick up ten points from at the moment to get to this so called safe 40 points he reckons will make him sleep easier.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

For the love of god please sack him. too many players were anonamous again though. too many wasted chances....what was the point of bringing on Weimann on 91 minutes? why not give him 15-20....clueless ginger idiot

Agree9 Disagree0

Typing this as I travel on my way back to Kent after watching some of the most turgid S*** football I have seen. First fifteen minutes we were ok but after that we sucked and that's being generous. Look at our fixtures - we needed to win this game but now were going to get sucked in to a relegation scrap.
This game as finished me. Travelled all over the country and Europe supporting beloved Villa but no more. A manager who couldn't play good football if it bit him in the a*** and a chairman who couldn't care less about out team any more and has now released that you cant make money out of a premiership football team unless you Man U or Arsenal so wants out.
Thanks Lerner and Mcleish - thanks for ruining our club. Hope your happy with yourselves you bunch of cowboys.

Agree6 Disagree4

Exactly. I for some stupid reason everyweek after my weekend has yet again been ruined and left feeling hollow by another poor performance/result swear I will never waste my time or money again...yet I always get sucked back in but after 30 years I don't think I can do this anymore espeically under those two idiots. To the guy who said lerner was doing a good job? are you mental? the only two good things he could do for the club is sell it or sack the ginger loser...worse manager ever & that includes Dr Jo & Billy Mcneil.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Its not going to happen randy wont let villa go hes got his rep to think about and whats he done so wrong cos 4/5 yearsd ago villa fans loved him just cos hes stop spending doesnt mean hes rubbish at his job or been the owner come on we could have someone who leaves in trouble

Agree5 Disagree7

Mcleish has money to spend but has to wait until the summer to splash the cash due to jenas, keane, heskey etc.. wages will then be made available.

Kev

There are strong indications that Randy Lerner is lining up a short list of possible replacements for Mcleish should results not go his way over the next ten days. Poyet is top of the list apparently with Curbishley and Keane as other possibles!

Believable2 Unbelievable6

I wish, fed up villa fan

Agree5 Disagree0

Ive heard that too, Poyet does seem to be getting his boys to be playing a passing game down there! Worth a flutter!

Agree2 Disagree2

Its not going to happen randy will give mcleish this season i hate to say it and if he keeps us up he'll get next season too keep dreaming people i hope to wake up and its all been 1 big nightmare

Villa have paid out £12m on managers in the last three years thats why he won't get rid of mcleish no chance!
