Lambert WILL be sacked on monday if we fail to beat the country boys and slip even further into the relegation mire.
Question is, who on earth would be both willing and able to keep this once fantastic club where it should be?

Trev90

Believable3 Unbelievable23

So let me get this straight, the contract talks that have been on going for a few weeks are actually talks to dismiss Lambert now?

We are annoyed at watching us look limp and stagnant but I am greatful at times that we as fans have no say or insight into club affairs

Agree11 Disagree3

I only started this rumour in the hope of there actually being some convo on, let's say, our bleak chances of survival, why we are so bad, and other villa related matters. this site has never been so quiet as in the last few weeks and although I know there are obviously no transfer rumours at this stage of a season, the regular posters are usually always on here with insightful thoughts on anything AVFC. so why the complete silence in the last month guys? are we all just as gutted as each other about the predicament we are in and beginning to lose interest?

Thoughts PLEASE. ANY?

Trev90

Agree1 Disagree5

It's difficult to say any more than has already been said.
Our situation on and off the pitch seems staggeringly predictable
We all know what is going to happen on the pith. We'll knock it long to Benteke and hope for the best.
We all know what is going to happen off the pitch. The fans will talk about us signing players like Coutinho and we end up with Sylla
Even Kingvilla has shut up!

Agree4 Disagree2

Haha you know things really are bad if kingvilla hasn't got anything to say that's for sure. you still tuning in kingy?

Agree2 Disagree2

I'm one the few who thinks lambert is doing well with what he has and what he has purchase ok so some off them haven't work but he spotted benteke and vlaar and a few more like that the bonus happy days

Agree5 Disagree7

Also a few years back I remember lots of us crying out to give our youth a chance or send them out on loan lambert has done that he has got them game time they will come back stronger better players and (A few mate who support teams in the lower leagues are passing rave reviews about some of them although some of them not)if only o'neil had done this with players like Cahill instead of selling him m. o. and would have at least seen what type of player he was after 20-30games a season UTV let's hope we beat the inbreads tomoz :-) I also like people opinion on standing sections I'm against to be fair I like to sit down with my pie and really get comfy

Agree2 Disagree5

Martin O'Neill did with Cahill! he went on loan to Burnley and Sheff Utd

Agree5 Disagree1

Doesn't matter if they go out on loan this joker won't play them. He rather waste money on second rate unheard of players from lower leagues and abroad who are probably not as good as these kids.

Agree5 Disagree1

And still he sold him. To make way for Zat Knight

Agree8 Disagree1

We can all say that Lambert will do this and that. But how many of us ACTUALLY know what he thinks? none of us! The younger players will get games next season most likely. Grealish & Carruthers will get games and they will do fine, as well as possibly Drennan and Johnson. Do not worry!

Chamakh on PL, s radar according to club call, scored 5 this season. Wow just what we need another reject from a top club

Believable9 Unbelievable7

What a joke! IF true, this just about sums up where we are as a club. A 5 goal free transfer from Crystal Palace!

Villa are set to make a move for brugge star Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe. He can play on the right or in the central midfield. Perfect player and just what we need. They say we can get him for 5 million.

Believable8 Unbelievable13

"Perfect Player"? How many times have you seen him play (not including on your x-box)?

Agree8 Disagree1

Perfect=cheap at VP footballs answer to Poundland.

Is Okore back in light training? I heard a rumour that this was correct.
Does anybody have any further info regarding this point?
If we can get him back the back line will be significantly improved, after all it can't get much worse than Clark & Baker.
When is the Zog due back? Soon would be great.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

It will almost a diffrent team with those 2 back and almost will give the squad some more quality skill and speed?

guzan
baccuna/lowton vlarr okere bertrand

albrighton westwood delph nzogbia

benteke agbonlahor

Agree1 Disagree7

I have to say I am always perplexed by the obsession with N'zogbia. Is he not one of the biggest let downs of recent seasons?
Would be happy to see Okore back though

Agree8 Disagree1

Hi mendax, n, zog is at least the equal of Most of the crew available to PL. If he were to come back and show us what we know he has in his locker he could save our season. Only occasionally has he demonstrated his ability but we could do with whatever he can do right now.

Agree6 Disagree0

Hi Mate
I think I would add "very, very" to your "just occasionally"
It frustrates the hell out of me as I was excited when we bought him.

Agree1 Disagree3

12 games to go how many points do you think we can get with the above team? I would say 18?

Agree1 Disagree2

I would settle for 14 as I think that the bottom of the table, including us, are going to knock points off each other.
we still have 4 of the top 6 to play and I am not hopeful for points in any of these games regardless of our early points off some of them.
This gives us 8 games to collect enough points.
4 wins would be fantastic!!

Agree2 Disagree1

I gave up hypothesising about this Villa side some time ago

Agree2 Disagree2

Hypothesising? Jesus Mendax I had to look that up. I did think that we had bought a Greek defender on the quiet. Oldvillan

Agree2 Disagree1

Mendex, you are the most negative villa fan I have heard. Can you not say anything constructive? Its fans like you that put the team in low confidence

Agree2 Disagree4

I describe what I see mate. I doubt very much that my comments have any affect whatsoever on the sides performance (A bit like Lambert's coaching)
On a website where we exchange opinions, it is not my responsibility to be some kind of virtual cheerleader.
We are a poor side. It concerns me. I express that concern as eloquently as I know how to.
Fair enough, surely?

Agree5 Disagree2

Ha ha very good oldvillan

Agree0 Disagree2

Not trying to kiss ass here, mendax maybe a bit negative regarding our situation but how can any real fan not be worried? we are terrible and its very concerning and although we may have more of a chance than some of staying up, equally, we could just as easily not win another game this season and finish bottom, that's how close it is!

Agree2 Disagree2

Mendax you are telling the truth keep it up, some fans don't like it villajk

Agree2 Disagree2

I'm not saying I'm not concerned what I'm saying is we don't need the little comments that mendex is constantly giving. And it was also very obvious everyone was going to back mended up because for some reason everyone always agrees with him. don't know why. We need to start having some sort of positive attitude.

Agree2 Disagree2

Main reason he tells the truth we are a very poor side we play boring football PL not up to standard for this once great club, a side like Norwich or championship club, is record is worse than that bluenose we had villajk

Agree1 Disagree3

Fortunately there are 3 or 4 worse teams than us. Ithink we'llbe fine but worried by the lack of progress made this season

Agree3 Disagree1

So in most opinion the above team is very poor and will struggle to stay in the league?

Agree2 Disagree1

Mate, I really don't put comments on here to upset you or anyone. For me it's just carrying on a dialogue about our favourite subject, Villa.
Would I confess to being pessimistic at the moment? Yes, absolutely.
That's not because I'm a naturally pessimistic person but because I believe we currently have poor management, poor coaching, poor scouting and a disinterested owner.
I think a lot of fans, although not all, share similar concerns
I don't expect us to agree but I do resent the insinuation that my expressed point of view is somehow damaging to the team. I have never, ever booed a Villa side off the pitch and I never will. That said, I can't ignore what is in front of my eyes.
By all means disagree with my views, but do it by expressing a coherent one of your own rather than rubbishing mine.
I will always be willing to listen

Agree2 Disagree2

Ok Mendex. Sorry for jumping on your back i'm just worried about the negative attitude around villa at the moment. No hard feelings.

Agree2 Disagree1

No problem mate. I can see you just care. same as me

Manchester United set for Ron vlaar move. This would be disastrous.

Believable5 Unbelievable11

Can't see it happening to be honest.

Agree10 Disagree3

Solid defender and Man U do need a defender but I don't think this will happen

Agree8 Disagree1

I think Moyes would be lynched if he announced Vlaar as a signing. He needs to go big or go home or the fans will make mincemeat of him.

Have heard a few people now saying Randy Learner pulled the plug on deals for Ryan Donk on loan plus a permeant deal for Filip Duricic.

Believable4 Unbelievable7

Don't think we would actually have enough money for Duricic, but I could actually of seen the Dink deal happening.

Agree0 Disagree3

Wouldn't mind us going back in for Duricic, looked a real talent when he was playing in Holland, dunno how much Benfica value him at though? don't think he's played too much tbh. not sure about Donk either.

Gary Gardner may apparently be refused a new contract offer. What is Lambert doing!?

Believable26 Unbelievable6

The fact Lambert said its difficult for him to get in the side is comical. I appreciate KEA and Sylla have their fans but neither for me have given any standout performances recently to warrant being picked ahead of Gardner.

I accept the lad has had a real bad time of it with injuries over the last few years, but he can do no worse then KEA and Sylla who are assumably ahead of him in the pecking order. If he walks out the door at the end of the season, then it is further proof of Lamberts managerial inability to let a ball playing midfielder leaves for free

Agree14 Disagree4

If we let Gary Gardner to it will be one of the worst decision ever and will come back to haunt us. He is a quality player with a excellent future. If he is allowed to leave Lambert needs to be questioned on why he has let such a talented player leave the football club.

Agree15 Disagree4

Some teams going to get a very talented player, and he will show PL what a s--t manager he is, worst midfield in prem give this lad a chance we have seen your c--p buys really fed up villajk

Agree7 Disagree4

Gardener is good at reserve level when he's not injured. His more of a liability just a worse version of rodwell

Agree5 Disagree14

So you think KEA STILA are better than Gardner Lol

Agree5 Disagree3

Who said that? The fact is delph is the only prem standard midfielder we have.

Agree11 Disagree4

He will get his contract!

Agree5 Disagree4

Cant belive sm Villa fans axing lycrical abot a player who has not played two consecutive games, yet you say he is better than players who have.

I have no doubt he is a talent, but some perspective he is always injured he needs game time but not straight in the 1st team utter madness UTV

Agree11 Disagree6

Westwood Kea Stylla are utter rubbish villajk

Agree6 Disagree7

And we are tenth in the premier league of English football playing them so they can not be as bad as some so call fans call them!

Agree8 Disagree5

Do you honestly think we will Finnish 10 and do you like the way we play

Agree6 Disagree6

We have a squad of players that have us 10th in the league now! We can play better then we do but is not being safe the first priority? and then once reaching there I hope we use the reminder of the season to play in a way which will have us prepared better for next season with a few quality additions!
so in a whole no I do not like the way we play and no we might not finish tenth but at least then Lambert will see what he needs for the next season and how we want our club to play!

Agree5 Disagree4

Gardner is twice the player Sylla will ever be and all he needs is chance to prove himself, I pray lambert gives him that and then there is no doubt he will get a contract!

Agree4 Disagree11

A good manager would have seen what was required after 1 season, so why waste what little money we have on poor players, 2 good buys better then 4 poor, I don't think PL can handle skilful players, hence holt on loan

Agree4 Disagree4

It has all been about finances at villa, its not okay to spend blindly which we have learn t and it would be pretty silly to add more high wages on wage bill that is high already, pl has done a brilliant job and will do with more money.
This summer will show how pl will do, he is handling bertrand okay and I am sure he will be able to handle others brilliantly as well as he has gained respect of the group he has assembled! I am still holding hope as he has not been given tolls which he will get this summer to add as long as he gets rid of average high earners! he is building a squad and not a team like oneil did!

Agree4 Disagree6

Agree with rbutler regarding confusion over why gary gardner should have a place in our XI. how has he ever proven he is better than what we have? surely he would have been given more than 1 game at a time if he was good enough. i'm not saying that KEA and sylla are necessarily better footballers they just clearly have the know-how required whereas gardner has yet to prove anything at all sorry.

Agree2 Disagree4

For anyone to suggest that KEA or Sylla have the 'know how' did make me laugh.

The fact Gardner hasn't played a lot over the last few years has simply been down to injury more then PL not selecting him.

He deserves the chance to prove he is good enough and have the 'know how' as you put it

Agree6 Disagree1

Totally agree they make me laugh to

Agree2 Disagree1

Gardner is a diffrent player to kea and sylla, is not gardner more of a creator then a defender and if so would we not leak more goals? I would get to the saftey mark and then throw him in to see what he can do!

Agree2 Disagree1

Yes he can play

Agree3 Disagree1

He has been sent out on loan to sheff wed til march 12th, hope it has similar effect as albrighton.

Agree2 Disagree1

The loan will not be of much use to gardner, been to about 5 different clubs on loan and hasn't made any real progression in 5 years, why everyone wants him in the squad truly befuddles I have to say.

Agree2 Disagree1

What you on about five clubs he's been on loan to Coventry and sheff wed thts it

According to local newspaper Faulkner denies that AVFC are up for sale. If this is fact it could be that we are stuck with Lerner for sometime yet. More wait and see.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

No we are not for sale but I believe the 80 million pound share allocation came from outside investment.
Who? It will soon be revealed when the stadium is re-named. most likely the Chinese angle which seem to be getting a lot of mention on the official website.

Agree6 Disagree4

Villa need a CAM and a CM bigtime!!

We can now see why we did not do much business in the window, Randy wants to sell for £200m, so he is not going to be putting any money in. Everybody blaming PL but he can only use money at his disposal, the quicker he sells the better UTV.

Believable7 Unbelievable12

Many of us saying that PL is running to orders, perhaps he will get a chance at proving he can manage at the top. A new owner may want a foriegn manager to move us forward. It would be fantastic if a real owner came and invetsed proper money.

Agree4 Disagree13

Careful what you wish for. In fairness Lerner loaned the club buckets of cash and ramped up the wage bill in persuit of making the next step up to the CL.

He will leave a club without debt and in a decent position. These foreign owners everyone wants do not exist. Chelsea and Man City aside, all other investors are in it for profit ONLY. The value of the premier league has been rising for years as Lerner bought for 80m and will sell for 200m, 120m return over 7 years!

Its global billionaire business and I for one do not expect a money bags to come and bank roll us, some people want Red Bull. If that happens I will, sadly have to find a new club to follow. Corporatism has gone far enough but I am not assosciating myself with an arm of Red Bull global plc, this is not football people

Agree14 Disagree5

Jeez mate getting a little upset over a game people love there you should follow avfc no matter what

Agree8 Disagree7

Blimey mate.
Don`t know who you are but I have done my fair share of moaning, but
I would support Villa if they were owned by the council, then you would see what real lack of investment is really like.

Chill out and support your team, good times will come you see.

Villa are a great club and I would support no other ditto.

Villadave

Agree7 Disagree1

I don't get this rubbish that Lerner hasn't backed Lambert. He has, the person has chosen to buy too many players on the cheap instead of fewer quality players. Lerner's problem is he he has been wrongly advised. He has had 3 stabs at trying to get the right manager and try and rectify the financial mess o'neil created at the same time. Unfortunately some fans got their wish with the present manager, mores the pity. His attitude towards the big earners that he inherited has been disrespectful, well that's how it appears, or has had his orders not to play them. I'm sure if I was paying someone £50,000 a week I'd want to get my money's worth, or is it down to appearance money and bonuses, guess we'll never know the answer to that. I have to ask does Lambert really believe the garbage that comes out of his mouth in his post match interviews. If I was Lerner, I would want to get my money back or close to it and sell. At least he would be happy, the moaning fans who have short memories and are anti Lerner would be happy!
Whoever is there I wish them well I will always support the club, but will feel obligated to criticise if I don't agree with what I see on the pitch.
Apologies for going on.
UTV

Agree10 Disagree3

Don't apologise mate. You make some good points

Agree6 Disagree2

Decent coaching and tactics would make a difference. The best players in the world would look bad using Lambert's tactics.

Agree5 Disagree5

UTV Lambert can only sign lower based players because of the wages he is allowed to offer. So Lerner is not backing him he can not sign quality player as you put as he can not pay their wages.

Agree4 Disagree5

Sat 10th in the league 5 clear. Form is picking up. 6 points better off then this time last season playing 1 game less. Weve improved that's for sure, but i'm not 100% happy with our style of play. Lambert is the right man for the job.

Agree7 Disagree6

Have we improved or have the opposition got worse?
We seem to have gone backward in playing style

Agree7 Disagree7
