Well reports today is villa want lescott, Hernandez and Holtby. Would be good but depends on if we stay up

Believable4 Unbelievable13

If that was true would mean PL still Manager no thanks

Agree9 Disagree4

It's all agent talk. There will be no signings at A. V. F. C this summer.
Gordon Cowans will be announced as the new manager after Lamberts contract comes to an end. Cowans has already been told that he will have to work with what's already here and bring in players from our own academy.

Agree8 Disagree33

Would the person who wrote the last post care to put his name to it rather than remain anonymous?
What a load of absolute twaddle.
Clarrie blue

Agree22 Disagree2

Haven't seen the holtby link, but I know that the sun reported Lescott and hernandez. Don't see why either would want to come to the club, Hernandez could do a lot better than B6.

Agree8 Disagree4

Holtby would be o. k. but Lescott has had his day and is no improvement at all on Vlaar and Okore, who will, injuries permitting, be our central defensive partnership for next season.
No thanks to Hernandez. He is far too lightweight and inconsistent and we have enough of that type at Villa Park already.
Clarrie blue.

Agree5 Disagree8

Not that I think for a moment that it would happen but are you seriously turning your nose up at the thought of signing Hernandez?
The bloke is a natural born finisher.
The principle when buying any player is to say to yourself "is he better than what we already have"
Do you think Hernandez is not significantly better than Gabby, Weiman, Kozak or Holt?
Really?

Agree13 Disagree3

The truth hurts don't it. Looking at our last transfer window with just two loans and you think we are going to buy Henandez? Who's going to pay Lescotts wages? Exactly it's you who's talking twaddle and if you think a billionaire new owner is coming in and going to invest 200 million on players and Klinsman will be the new manager then you need serious help. Everton and Newcastle are much more desirable than Villa. The reality is no-one wants to manage a team under these financial restraints so Cowans is the best option.

Agree7 Disagree2

{Ed003's Note - The point about leaving a name is valid - all the team pages will be moving to registered only in the future so why not register now.}

Bent was a natural finisher but when the supply dries up you don't score Hernandez has played with the best, he would not get chances and to lightweight, we all have different ideas sorry Mendax but agree with Clarrie blue on this one villajk

Agree2 Disagree5

You have identified financial restraints as our problem and I agree 110%. So often I have posted about Scrooge being PL's problem.
Are you a Villa supporter or a sniper from somewhere else?
Give yourself a sign off as the ED states.

Agree2 Disagree2

O. k. I have now registered so I hope in a few months time I am wrong and I will be the first to apologise, but I fear I am right. after the Kozak signing Lambert was told no more money would be available. 8 months later and its true. he was told last week that he had to stick with what he's got for next season as buying another 6 or so players doesn't help unless he sells first. Gordon is willing to do this hence expect to see our youth team players finally making breakthroughs. next season we will have Bent, Benteke, Gabby, Delph, Given and Nzogbia as our high earners and the rest of the lads Lambert signed have at least two years left so unless we sell players we have to stick with them as we are paying their wages.

Agree2 Disagree3

{Ed003's Note - Cheers GG it makes for much better convos/debates.}

1 of 2 things are going to happen in the summer. We're going to be bought by a rich owner who will spent money on highly rated players not lescot and holtby. Or no one buys us and Randy will refuse to invest any more money. Ps villa is a desirable team just look at our global fan base and our history. What was so special about man city? Manchester already had a major club down the road. And Newcastle is a hole.

Agree6 Disagree2

Must ask Gordon's grove. Is this a rumour or a gut feeling.

Agree3 Disagree1

Would love to see Hernandez & Holtby at Villa! Hernandez is a natural goal scorer who can score from nothing and with the amount of chances we create he's exactly what we need! Holtby would help creativity wise and take pressure of Westwood and Delph

as for been inconsistent 59 goals in 150 games is not to shabby for player in and out the team!

Villa are also a more desirable than Everton for a new owner we have a great stadium Everton need a new one we have and have our own state of the art training facility and in football terms we have very little debt for new owners to worry about! not saying some billionaire owner is going to come in and spend £200m+ on players but to say we're not desirable as an investment for a well of owner is ridiculous UTV

Agree9 Disagree1

Can I just point out to Gordons Grove that on more than one previous occasion Cowans has stated that whilst he is always willing to help out when called upon he does not want the job permanently, so he would be a non-starter.
Clarrie.

Agree3 Disagree2

It's a gut feeling. Lambert has gone public with the calibre of player this club needs hence clearing the way to quit if big money isn't made available. Cowans is quoted as saying Villa won't be relegated on my watch. I think a diplomatic parting of manager is being executed, Lerner praising Lambert, Lambert trying to justify the restraints he's had to work within.
If true that agents were told we won't be paying more than £30,000 a week wages during the last transfer window then what chance Hernandez and co? Lamberts cleared the way for his exit and I can't see anyone else think I can go there and do better with the same team and maybe 10 to 20 mill to spend oh and a salary cap.

Agree5 Disagree4

Hi Villajk
I agree that the service has dried up and that does not help the forwards
I think Bent's main problem however is his comparative lack of mobility. He seems to have lost a couple of yards since we bought him and is lazy. Hernandez is a step up however you look at it. But I agree, little point buying him if you don't add some bite and guile to the midfield

Agree2 Disagree2

Why is it that when people talk about darren bent they always gloss over the most important fact? the gut just misses so many sitters. Would rather hernandez (not that I think it will happen) as he is a natural born finisher whereas bent is just a natural born goal hanger

Just a suggestion, go in for Roy miyaichi from arsenal. Cheap, potential and a winger what we lack. Had a good loan spell at feynoord a couple of seasons bk.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

Poor choice mate. should be aiming for better players.

Agree8 Disagree2

Gnabry on loan would be a better option. maybe we should put in a sneaky bid for Memphis Depay (PSV, LW) or Viktor Fischer (Ajax, LW)? Worth a shot, especially if we get taken over!

Agree3 Disagree2

We have a young cheap squad some good some bad, the good need to be made better and the bad sold or put on loan and we need to only add high quality signing!

Agree5 Disagree0

My sources are telling me that the billionaire looking to take over villa is Jeffery hildebrand. He is a texan billionaire worth 6. 2 billion and a deal is already done pending us being a prem team come end of season. He will put a new manager in place asap and hand him a 200 mil kitty for new players. This guy makes his money in oil so is a rich man always getting richer. It is thought he wants a manager with championship wins in a top league on his cv and someone who has champions league experience. Any thoughts people. I'd go for someone like frank ricard myself or I like the guy at Southampton but he does not have the wins on his cv.

Believable13 Unbelievable16

I hope this happens. Then I think that he should appoint Roberto Mancini.

Agree5 Disagree13

Frank Rijkaard would be very good too and it can happen, since he has been without a job since last year.

Agree9 Disagree6

Maybe we should go for Guus Hiddink? Yes he hasn't won a CL but he is a very good manager!

Agree15 Disagree5

To be honest I hope we just get a new owner with some passion, I don't mind who

Agree12 Disagree1

The club was sold a few months ago. the new owners have even flown in to see matches. Just ask the catering staff who were serving halal food with no alcohol to a certain directors box. Lerner wanted Lambert to be given a chance but recent displays have made them look elsewhere for a new manager, who was interviewed last week. Lerners meeting with lambert a few days ago was a golden handshake.

Agree6 Disagree12

Don't get too excited. Foreign ownership isn't always good.

Agree12 Disagree3

Moyes?

Agree5 Disagree9

No definitely foreign but he wasn't the only option.

{Ed007's Note - Moyes is from Scotland, it's like this total whole other country at the top of England. Other countries are seen as foreign.}

Agree4 Disagree4

Lerner and lambert will be here next season with funds being made available after a summer clearout of deadwood and a few of lamberts signings. imo

Agree10 Disagree8

Lerner will defo not be here next season villa is already sold and Mr lerner counting the money. I really don't think lambert will be either.

Agree3 Disagree10

If Lambert is still here next week never mind next season after todays debacle I shall be amazed. I still think a point next week against Hull will be enough to keep us up but I'm not even confident of that. As to next season, I would rather see Ken Dodd in charge than the current set up.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree15 Disagree4

Totally agree changes are needed fast.

Agree1 Disagree1

Current playing squad is just not good enough plain and simple. Don't think it would matter who's in charge

Agree5 Disagree1

If a deal to sell is dependant on us staying in the prem its looking grim because let's face it we ent going to win any of the last 3 games the way were playing and we are relying on cardiff-sunderland finishing adraw or its not looking too good

Agree2 Disagree3

It's funny how kingvilla constantly loads complete sh** not this site, yet when I come on here to air my views about the villa my status doesn't come up. Cheers eds!

Agree4 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - You're very welcome, mate. Ever thought of tagging your posts or registering? Until you do either you have nothing to moan about.}

We will get the 3 points required so let's get behind the team! come on the 12th man the club needs you all together!

Agree7 Disagree1

Sorry kingvilla but anything you say can't be taken seriously, in fact I'm inclined to think the complete opposite of what you say will happen.

Rijkaard is a great choice in a dream world, but I think he's retired.

>Scg87

Agree4 Disagree1

I think we are safe even if we don't get another point as the bottom three all have just 2 games left and if they all lose away from home next weekend, as I believe they will to Stoke, Newcastle and Chelsea then none of the current bottom three can pass us. So it's Norwich, Cardiff and Fulham to go down. That's not to say that we don't deserve to be relegated, because in all honesty, we do.
Clarrie blue.

Reportedly Prince Sultan bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Kabeer is at the head of a consortium attempting to buy Villa, this is only a rumour but if true would bring a lot of money to the club. It seems uncharacteristic of the prince though apparently

Believable10 Unbelievable9

Reportedly where exactly?

Ruffall

Agree4 Disagree2

KingVilla said it.
It's cast iron mate

Agree3 Disagree1

King villa spouts all sorts, 1 out of 1000 is still a poor result! Even the SUN gets more right ha!

Agree5 Disagree1

He's only worth $2. 4 billion so its like around £1. 7 billion so he's not really that much richer than lerner

Agree6 Disagree3

The thing with the Saudi wealth is ignore what you read as most of it is uncountable, none of it is self made and the royal families are very big. A prince could have fifteen siblings so the reported figures of individuals mean nothing. I believe when last asked how much money he has he replied don't worry It can't be counted and won't finish. If Villa stay up I believe he's is the only offer. Another thing with Arabs is they always try to outdo each other.

Agree3 Disagree1

If anyone remembers from a few weeks ago, someone said that a Birmingham Airport guy saw a private jet which arrived and left on the day vs Fulham (I think). The plane left for Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, and apparently the guy has been a good source as he broke the news about Lerner flying out to meet Solksjaer and Houllier coming in. It might be a possible link with this Arab consortium and the flight, but maybe I'm just as desparate as everyone else so I might be grabbing anything?! Thought it might be an interesting point.

Agree8 Disagree3

Must be careful what we hope for and not fantasize about drivel Portsmouth were reported to be being taken over by arabs and look what's happened to themthe heart ripped out of a premier league club by trying to be something. incompetent decision makingan financial ruincame on the back of a period of decline and disaffection from fans and owners who frankly preferred sacking managers than keeping their word on romises made fingers crossed anyway.

Leaked then translated. As an American billionaire ponders over £200mill wanted by Lerner for AVFC a Big name youngish manager is said to have been approached by an Arab consortium regarding visions on a new project project at villa and regard the asking price as play money.

The manager goes on to say these people are serious football individuals with global financial clout, he reckons his just one of a wider shortlist being looked into

Believable3 Unbelievable11

I do hope we get sold. However only, to the right hedge fund/ limited liability corporation set up. Competition to buy is is a must as there is no such thing as greener pastures when you snatch the next available plot.

Agree8 Disagree0

Would be nice to have Arabs come in as then we would probably just have unlimited money. I don't want to see Russian owners come in because they can't handle there money at a football club. Americans know what they want already by the sounds of it and ill take them as new owners any day.

Agree7 Disagree2

Am I the only person who can see us getting the only arab billionaire that is half broke

Anyone remember back in January when I said albrighton to Everton will be a done deal. You all shot the idea down and some of you even questioned why I would post it when I claimed to have inside info

As the news breaks in the next 24 hours you'll all learn that I only post the truth.

JAY

Believable14 Unbelievable8

Albrighton is signing a new contract and is Villa through & through.

Agree6 Disagree14

I would love it to be true because I don't rate Albrigton regardless of the fact that he is one of the best 5 players at Villa currently and probably the player with the biggest heart. Sadly he lacks skills, finesse, razzle-dazzle, a body swerve, step over etc. simply not good enough!

Agree18 Disagree12

Have you been watching Albrighton since he came back from his loan deal. He has been fantastic and always makes an impact when he comes on. He have Shaw in his back pocket yesterday we just didn't have anyone who could finish off the crosses. You don't have to have skills to be a good player but he can produce skills when he wants to.

Agree10 Disagree11

Agreed he is no wonder kid but he has been full of industry and desire in the last couple of months. Sadly I can believe this rumour, he will move on to Everton and look a very deceng player next season. Where we will be. Who knows?

Agree9 Disagree8

Had shaw in his back pocket?! He maybe beat him two three times and then delivered a poor cross. Let's not even start on the amount of times shaw knocked the ball past him and used pace to get away from him. Anyone who thinks Albrighton is good enough to start week in and week out needs to wake up

Agree14 Disagree6

Don't have to be skilful to be a good footballer? Are you David Beckham in disguise? You wonder why England have won nothing in over a generation? It is the small-minded view that a middle distance athlete with a big heart will be able to outwit a Messi, Ronaldo or Zidane!

Agree14 Disagree1

So you are saying that you have to have skill to be good and beat a side or a player. Well look at Celtic vs Barca. Celtic aren't the most skilful side but they were determined and beat them. While Barca are a highly skilful side with high quality players in the side.

Agree3 Disagree12

CONFIRMED IN TELEGRAPH AND GUARDIAN: Aston Villa will be sold- subject to maintaining Premier League status- to US consortium led by 2 Texas -based Billionaires (AVFC are playing in Texas in July)

Believable20 Unbelievable5

Need to stay up owners want players under 25 years of age and are willing to give the manger, may it be Lambert or not, £250 million to spend. They want to try and replicate the success of Liverpool.

Agree11 Disagree3

When does something being written in a newspaper become conformation?

Agree10 Disagree11

Fair enough point- yet still there must be definite interest if it has been mentioned in majority of national Newspapers - and also these aren't out of the blue rumours- been circling amongst respected Villa fans for weeks and months

I mean it is clear that Lerner wants to sell- cutting his losses, decreasing spending, no appearances at VP- and Villa are not making him any money- it is not good business for him to keep the club

Agree12 Disagree0

Nothing is confirmed, calm down or you will have a trouser accident. don't beleive anything until it happens.

Agree19 Disagree4

When I said confirmed, I meant confirmed interest- which was already evident for the reasons posted earlier

Agree6 Disagree1

I really will have an accident in my pants if this happens. I refuse to get excited yet though

Agree3 Disagree0

Josip Radosevic being linked, bags of potential apparently.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Quality defensive midfielder could do with someone like him.

Agree3 Disagree2

Money would be much better spent elsewhere

Agree7 Disagree2

If the rumors are correct about the takeover, then how can we realistically be connected to any player?

Agree6 Disagree1

True, and also if Lambert is going then all rumours of transfers can be put on hold

Agree5 Disagree0

After tonight if he impresses with more goals, I would like to see Connor wickham at villa park next season. In the right team he scores goals for fun. Benteke replacement if sunderland go down. I'm sure they will.

Believable6 Unbelievable9

He's a good player.
Always liked Wickham, can't understand how Altidore can play 30 games this season while Wickham is out on loan. That's a joke

>Scg87

Agree7 Disagree0

Is this a joke? Wickham isn't even that good. Just because he scored 2 goals last night why do people come on here posting deluded rubbish like this? Until he does it over 2 years of constant scoring then yes maybe look at him.

Even if Sunderland want to sell they will ask for their money back which was around £9mil for him

Agree6 Disagree11

Scoring 2 goals against city has nothing to do with him being a good player.
If you can't see he's a good player then maybe your the one who's deluded.
And didn't you read the part where the guy making the comment says if Wickham keeps scoring? Deluded and blind people working themselves in to a frenzy on rumour site lol

Agree8 Disagree5

Wickham is a quality player with a lot of potential he just needs to gain experience. He will be a regular in the England squad in the next 2-5 years.

Agree5 Disagree4

If he's as good player as you are lead to believe then why have 5 managers not deemed him first choice striker despite all the hype? Think you will find it's because he is lazy, prefers a night on the town, or adding to his tattoo collection!

If he is so good he would be getting more game time instead of Altidore.

The Sunderland fans can't stand him and his attitude has been questionable for a number of years! Far, Far better strikers around we should look at.

Players like: Alfreð Finnbogason (Heerenveen) Aron Johannsson (HZ) Carlos Bacca (Seville) Ciro Immobile (Torino)

Agree4 Disagree6

How many of them that you mentioned are we able to afford with are owner giving out no money.

Agree2 Disagree1

And you think we could afford Wickham? who is English and cost Sunderland £9mil? all of the players I mentioned are anything from £5mil to £9mil and if rumours are true about takeover and i'm 95% certain it will happen in summer then shouldn't have much trouble tempting any of those players.

Agree1 Disagree2

You think Immobile will cost less than £10m?
Now I know you have no know you have less knowledge than you think

And btw, 3 or was it 4 managers didn't pick Sturridge to play football, now look, proof that players get better. You want proven quality fair enough, but going on like a player can't improve makes you sound like a 10yo

Agree4 Disagree3

Sturridge always had class that's why he cost so much, Chelsea and man city had better players at that time he only had to wait not one of the clubs sturridge played for would buy wickham and if the take over happens we could get better and not average like we have done so I agree with, is this a joke?

Agree1 Disagree3

You can't make a silk purse from a pigs ear

Agree1 Disagree2

16 Apr 2014 01:38:36
There is defo movement at villa park and we will either be sold in full this summer or a 49. 9 per cent stake sold as Mr lerner does not want to put the money in needed to keep us in the prem and move us forward. He does however realise that this is needed and 2 deals are on the table. One for a 49 per cent stake who I belive to be a Chinese investor which would see there being a kitty put aside of about 50 to 70 mil for players in window. The other to buy us outright I'm still hearing is Redbull although that one has been shot down in the past. They would put a lot more in to the pot for players and bring in new manager. There is no chance of them going in with Mr lerner though they want to own us outright if that one came off. The prob is lerner wants about 60 mil more than they think we worth.

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Not redbull. hope not redbull as it would kill off the team off its history and its greatness may even change the name.

Agree3 Disagree4

Would a new owner fund stadium regrowth as well as buying highly expensive yet, relivatly unknown players?

Villa have suspended Culverhouse and Karsa (reasons not yet given) and Cowans and Given to step in until end of season. Does this signal the end for Lambert. Hopefully

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Apparently, from a member of staff who works at the training ground, they have been suspended for gross misconduct and verbal abuse of other staff and players.

(from the person who posted the original comment)

Agree8 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - See, if you tagged your posts or registered you wouldn't need to put that last part in... :) Nobody knows if you really are the OP or not except me and you - and I'm saying nothing!}

Something strange going on there! when Lambert was at Norwich Culverhouse was credited with playing a major part in the success they had. They have been together since 2006 and apart from the current spell at Villa they have been very successful at every club they have been at.

Agree2 Disagree1

Lambert cowans shay, I for one hope it works the more claret and blue we have behind the scenes the better imo.

Agree2 Disagree1

Dispirited NCFC fan in pieces here.

For what it is worth, while he was with us, Lambert ALWAYS made clear that He, Cluverhouse and Karsa were a complete package, and they stayed together come what may. - If you guys are giving the last two the bullet, then expect PL to jump ship shortly. (it's about due anyway)

The other thing is that we always thought that, even though Culverhouse was a gobby so-and-so, always happy to take on the whole stadium, with a turn of language almost as blue as Lamberks, it was HE who was the brains and capability behind our (successful) teams.

. and no we don't want any of them back!

Good Luck Villans! OTBC

Agree7 Disagree2

Let's hope mr lambert does the right thing and follows them out of the club possibly the worst manager I have ever seen at villa park and there has been some pretty poor ones. 0

Agree6 Disagree7

Thanks for that Norwich fan
Very interesting, do call again

Agree6 Disagree0

From everything I'm hearing, it's Lambert himself who got rid of culverhouse and Karsa for whatever the reason.

Apparently they haven't been speaking much in the last few weeks.

>Scg87

Agree1 Disagree3

Strong suggestions that Culverhouse and Cowans didn't get on and resulted in Gabby putting Culverhouse in his place for disrespecting a club legend (believed to be the reason why he did not play against Fulham).

Stinks a bit of Lambert feeding them to the wolves to possibly save his own bacon. If he is hanging around though here's hoping he finanlly brings in some backroom support who can work with the defence!!

Agree2 Disagree1

The rumour is that randy Lerner will sell 49. 99% making villa a partnership, randy doesn't want to be spending big money on players anymore and this way he would only have to pay half of everything but still keep him in charge
Watch this rumour!

Believable5 Unbelievable3

13 Apr 2014 19:48:16
Bit of a flimsy rumour but possible takeover interest from miami heat owner micky arison

Believable7 Unbelievable3

If that's true there is a a small chance of a real sports star visiting villa park (lebron james)

Agree4 Disagree3

Already had one American owner hasn't planned out well wouldn't want to see another.

Agree3 Disagree8

Got to tell you that our great club will not sold in the summer!
Investment will happen but Mr Lerner will still own the Villa.

Agree6 Disagree3

Heared a rumour from a very good sorce AVFC is to be sold and due diligence is being done. Chinese and Austrian buyers being linked. If I find anymore info I will post you all.

Agree1 Disagree4

No Chinese investment please, don' want to end up like our neighbours

Agree7 Disagree0

Austrian ivest, ent would most likely be Red Bull but they have said that they don't want to invest in a team in European big leagues. Might still happen though

Agree1 Disagree1

Have herd a few people saying Lambert wants to draft in Victor Ibarbo and Jordon Mutch during the summer.

Believable3 Unbelievable10

Sorry just can't see it because we need REAL experience to go with the mediocre youngsters we already have

Agree7 Disagree4

Wouldn't mind Jordan Mutch

Agree13 Disagree8

Hello lads, never been on here before, the only reason I am no is t post a VERY reliable piece of information that has came from a director within the club. Lerner has sold us, dependant on us still being in the prem. New owners are sorted, although nobody aprt frm lerner knos who they are. Lambert is not part of the new regimes plans (thank god I hear some of you saying!) this will happen, watch this space.

Agree13 Disagree11

Hi jimbop, I think you live in a world of your own. This news would be broadcast far and wide, much as I want it to be true. However if it is correct I will happily say sorry in advance. As for PL not being part of the deal, who do you think will be the new manager? Howard Wilkinson? Heaven help us.

Agree2 Disagree14

I would love it, just love it to happen as I am beyond fed up of Villa right now!

Agree7 Disagree3

I have NEVER been one to post rumours, actually this is the first site I have ever posted anything about the villa on, I always read but never post. This rumour is from a very close, and longstanding director at villa. like I say, watch this post, appologies not needed, I will just love the fact I've told you first my friend.

Agree15 Disagree1

Jordan mutch is a BLUENOSE so no thanks

Agree2 Disagree4

Jimbop, I wait to see.

Agree6 Disagree2

Jimbop could be right! there are rumours at moment on Bellsareringing forum about 2 different sources and also this guy below who works on Security at Birmingham Aiport

"thetrees, on 08 Apr 2014 - 08:13 AM, said:
I could start a rumour because a big expensive private jet arrived at BHX Saturday late morning and departed not long after the game finished. I don't know where it came from, but it departed to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It's owned by a charter company, so no clues there.
May have been related, may not, who knows?!"

This is the same guy on Villa Talk who broke the news about Randy's jet picking up Solskjaer a few years back also about Houllier arrived days before.

Agree8 Disagree6

Like I say I've been told that nobody knows who is the buyer, but we have been sold, pending premier league football next year

Agree4 Disagree3

Anyone started to notice talk coming out now!!! like I say, jimbop told you first!

Agree3 Disagree2

Also heard same story about Lerner having sold club and Lambert is going at the end of season, plus also heard that Gabby and Delph were dropped last week against Fulham due to massive bust up with Lambert and were in fact not injured. Source is Director at Villa, can't reveal who he is though.

Agree6 Disagree3

I heard this rumour about delph and gabby clashing with pl at bodymoor about tactics

Agree2 Disagree4

"pending premier league football next year" that's not going to happen. yet another toothless display today not sure why i'm surprised or even upset by awful performances anymore? how much more of this trash can us as fans put up with? please just resign lambert, it would be the most helpful thing you could for AVFC in 2 VERY long years!
and if we do stay in the league, every single one of players, coaches, board members, EVERYONE needs to go because everyone at the club apart from us fans are just a joke!

Agree3 Disagree2

Unfortunately we can't get rid of everyone. There are a number of players we should keep and build a new team around when they are all fit but under a new manager and hopefully a new owner, preferably an oil sheikh with a few billion quid to throw about if Randy is really looking to sell up.
As to todays performance, pathetic about describes it, but I would say there are just about 3 worse teams than us in the league, Sunderland, Norwich and Cardiff though to their credit Cardiff did beat Southampton today, something that I don't see us doing next week.
Clarrie Blue.

Agree6 Disagree0

The only players that need to go are the bomb squad Given Hutton Bent Zog etc. the rest, with quality brought in to play around them are capable players who will contribute.

Agree10 Disagree5

Only players we should be keeping are:-
guzan- but only as backup as we could do with a better no. 1, good communicator and organizer also very brave but doesn't make an awful lot of saves and ultimately that's a keepers top priority, save the ball!
bacuna- although defensively shaky and a bit lost going forward, I do see potential in him if he can make improvements next season, been played here there and everywhere this term, more lambert ineptness!
delph- our best midfielder by a long, long way, all he needs is a boss who will let the leash off him a bit and allow him to show all of his qualities.
vlaar- only one in our "defence" who knows what he's doing, only really plays bad when everyone else does and is our leader and commander at the back. paired with okore next season will be a huge plus.
benteke- on his day, in the right mood with the right service, this guy is incredible and easily in the top 10 of the worlds top strikers, the best forward we've had since the premier league era began. if we manage to keep him it will be vital that we get in some real class in midfield.
agbonlahor- wasn't sure whether to include gabby in this list because actually 9 times out of 10 he offers very little throughout a match. pace and strength in abundance is about all he can offer but every team needs someone like him, still the quickest player in the prem.
okore- any good, successful side needs a solid backbone and in this guy we have a future star. has all the attributes required to become a top center-back, he's quick, strong, tough-tackling, brave, positionally aware and although not the tallest he can certainly jump high! him and vlaar would be a truly solid partnership.

if we want to stay in this league, we need to build around the players listed above, 90% of those not listed above might aswell just leave because we have all had enough of them now after 2 shocking seasons.

Lambert, Lerner, Weimann, Clark, Lowton, Luna, Herd, KEA, Tonev, all of you are useless please, please leave this club before it's damaged beyond repair!

AVFC 4 LIFE

Agree1 Disagree15

Lowton was one of our best players last year and I know he hasn't played much this year but he should stay. He has a part to play if Lambert gives him a chance again instead of playing Bacuna at right back

Agree13 Disagree0

AVFC 4 LIFE,

All them players to go?
How we going to replace them?

Absolutely crazy to get rid of them, they shouldn't be starting games but we do need a squad not just 11 players on the pitch.
Next season players like KEA, Bennett, Luna, Tonev Sylla will hopefully not be starting to often, just squad players.

And I wonder if you was one of the vast majority who january last year were calling for Delph to be sold because he was sh*t?

Young players can get better with time, keep that in mind.

If we can sign 3 (minimum) quality players in the summer then I think we'll be competitive again

Agree9 Disagree6

They are rubbish and will not get better they are not young player these are 23/24 yr olds some older we need our squad players to be able to be as good as1st team

Agree6 Disagree8

Lolll what nonsense!
We need squad players to be be as good as our first teamers?
Well you better donate £100m to the club then.

So all players who are over 23/24yo can't improve?
Some of the comments on here are quite often silly, but that's beyond stupid

>Scg87

Agree7 Disagree3

Silly the only place them players will take you is down and if you think they will improve you don't know football we have younger players on the books better. don't waste money on rubbish

Agree8 Disagree6

Guzan doesn't make any saves. ? you havin a laugh?! has kept us in loads of games for a couple of seasons now!

Who said Guzan doesn't make saves

REVEALED Lamberts tops targets. Jurgen Locadia & Kevin Kampl.

Rumours circulating of a swap plus money involving Helenius & Aubameyang are false as £13mill plus would still be required that would not be sactioned under lamberts regime, he claims helenius still has a major part to play.

VPOracle

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Hopefully helenius will get his chance to prove his quality with benteke and Kozak out.

Agree9 Disagree1

Kampl is the type of player we need and Locadia would be the ideal replacement for Benteke while he is out. Also what about Sadio Mane who plays for the same team as Lampl?

Agree4 Disagree1

Don't know about targets, he should be finding out where to take his P45

Benteke played his last game for Villa. We need a replacement an it is not Kozak. Also think Weimann, although always gives 110% is just not premier league standard. New strike force please!

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Who would buy him when he's out for 6 months?

benteke will not be fit now till october so in a way its not a bad thing as far as villa are concerned, no way anyone will buy him unfit in the summer

Agree6 Disagree2

Agreed, unlikely he will sell while injured, but I think it's a safe bet he will be wanting to move on when fit.

Agree3 Disagree2

By the time he is eventually fit the summer window will be closed so he won't be passing a medical anywhere in time for him to leave.

Agree4 Disagree0

A good, cheap replacement for weimann would be jay-emmanuel thomas. just as explosive but much better technically. we need someone creative in gabbys spot i'm afraid, obviously love gabby but he doesn't offer enough on the field, i'd say we should look at someone LIKE hatem ben arfa or someone who possess the same qualities, as for big bens replacement, well, surely we will see now how good a player helenius can be in the last few games of the season and perhaps he will fit the bill, who knows?!

Agree2 Disagree7

Let's start an argument! Can anyone personally confirm that Ben has a serious injury! Remember personally confirm. Wouldn't it be amazing if he Was suddenly fit by August, 5 months, and Spuds or Gunners bid 25m. Not beyond the realms of reality in the modern game that a bit of a sting is going on. Question, could Villa know that a bid will come in and are ensuring that Ben doEs not get injured thus spoiling a transfer. I have already heard this rumour on the streets and am asking a question?

Agree1 Disagree5

Only positive to come from Bentekes injury is that no one will buy him in the summer now, simple as. Also sell Weimann? I do question whether some of the people on here even support Villa or have ever gone to a game, Weimann is claret an blue, Villa through an through, one of our best players an never ever gives up.

Agree3 Disagree3

Weimann one of our best players? that's joke of the year even for this site! I appreciate he is a villa boy and stated I admire his work-rate but he's just a headless chicken, no technique and no footballing brain i'm afraid. its clearly you, my friend, that doesn't know a thing about our team.

Agree3 Disagree2

I have changed my mind after the game v fulham, weimann IS our best player! haha :) the fact is we don't have a single good player

Agree3 Disagree1

Weimann Villa through and though, that's a laugh. he wasn't Villa through and through at the end of last season when he was demanding a pay rise or he would leave after having 2 good months. Headless chicken and not prem standard i'm afraid.

Agree2 Disagree0

I don`t think Gabby or Weimann are up to it to be honest.
I think they both lack technique, and are not the type of player who can create a special moment when needed.
They seem to be ok when things are going well but they will not take this club forward, we need a complete overhaul from back to front.

Villadave

Agree2 Disagree1

The biggest problem with Gabby an Wiemann is, there is absolutely no competition for them, They are both to comfortable, if we can get competition for them in the summer then I have no doubt they'll soon get their act together an suddenly find form.

They are not brilliant player by anyone's standards but they are good team players who will be very useful for us over the next few years.
