Other than Richards that did raise my eyebrow no other signing has made me think.wow.i don't want to put a downer on things but not one of the players we have signed would walk into any of the top half of the league.they all seem like (I hope they are decent players).but saying that mighty Tim know his stuff and i'm hoping he turns the villa around

The players we have signed would not walk into a top half team because we are not a top half team Cheezey, and if they could they would be signing somewhere else. Simple as. We don't have the luxury of being able to pick and choose anyone we want. Gueye looks like he plays similar to Delph so I have high hopes for him and Amavi is definitely one for the future. He had the highest number of interceptions in Europe last season and at only 20 he will only improve. Most importantly he is the perfect player for Sherwoods style of play. He picks the ball up in defence and drives the play forward. When he isn't on the ball he is chasing back and crucially winning possession back. Benteke wouldn't have walked into any top half team when we signed him, but he damn well could now, and those are the types of players we have to have until we can rebuild the club and finish higher up the table.

ED001 I agree he spent most of his 2/3yrs at Fulham left back/left wing but most if not all his 5yrs at Sunderland was at left wing.hes a reverse of a gaz Barry I guess.LB=LM.dont think Richardson is good enough to play in the prem
{Ed001's Note - I would agree on your final assessment, he was initially shunted to left back by Man Utd because he wasn't good enough on the wing. The last few years have just mostly solidified that.}

Richardson has played his career as a left winger so when he came to villa they dropped him as a wing back for some reason.
{Ed001's Note - he played left back many times before joining Villa mate, most of his Fulham time was at left back.}

Heard that palace was looking at remy, not a bad shout if we can sneak in there,I think if we've got £40million from the sales then splash a little on 3/4 players meaning we will be strengthening the team.dont think there is a chance of signing Hernandez,Man Utd, Madrid then villa?? Big step down but we can dream

QPR have priced Austin at 15mil and Phillips at 10mil. I would rather the 25mil go towards Townsend 15mil and walker 8mil
