Apparently, Roy Keane was spotted at the Southampton game (the penultimate home game), and had agreed to join as an assistant manager. This was when Lerner already had a buyer lined up, and the deal was relatively close. When the talks stalled, the appointment was 'postponed', so maybe his appointment means the takeover is back on?
1.) Close friend to mine sits in directors and said last night the deal was all but done, just got to be put on paper and rumor has it should be done in 2 weeks assuming no holdups occur!

2.) Hi VillaPope, are you referring about the takeover or Keane's appointment. And if the former, then any idea on who it may be?
3.) The takeover, and no the name is being kept under tabs annoyingly, tried to get as much info as I could, but all that's being said is the deal has been verbally agreed, it could still fall through nothing is 100% until pen is put to paper and that may still take a while longer.

4.) Thanks VillaPope, hope it is Arison and Ellison, us Villa fans will be in dreamland

Arison's and Ellison's interest apparently rekindled. Would be a joint bid.

Apparently, Anschutz has held positive talks, and wants to buy. The same person also said that Ellison has held talks, and that he was APPARENTLY at VP on Saturday. I am sceptical at this as why would Ellison, the 5th richest man, want to buy an admittedly great club, but failing team. But Stan Collymore did say Ellison was at VP so fingers crossed
1.) Why would the sheikh mansour wanna buy city?
Truth is these men who have more money than god don't really care about the size of the club, or the league position there in when buying a club.
Maybe they like the idea of buying a club then making a club successful instead of buying into an already successful club.
I'm still not convinced of these rumours about Ellison, but it has to be said, Villa is the perfect club to buy from any billionairs point of view, Great stadium, great facilities, about to be free of debt, and a projected revenue of £100m a year within the next 3 years.
Not many clubs can say that.
I can't think of any down side of buying villa.

2.) True, I mean Villa are a great club, but the team is failing, and I think Sheik Mansour bought City so he could end the dominance of United. I hope Ellison does by Villa, I really do.

CONFIRMED IN TELEGRAPH AND GUARDIAN: Aston Villa will be sold- subject to maintaining Premier League status- to US consortium led by 2 Texas -based Billionaires (AVFC are playing in Texas in July)
1.) Need to stay up owners want players under 25 years of age and are willing to give the manger, may it be Lambert or not, £250 million to spend. They want to try and replicate the success of Liverpool.
2.) When does something being written in a newspaper become conformation?
3.) Fair enough point- yet still there must be definite interest if it has been mentioned in majority of national Newspapers - and also these aren't out of the blue rumours- been circling amongst respected Villa fans for weeks and months
I mean it is clear that Lerner wants to sell- cutting his losses, decreasing spending, no appearances at VP- and Villa are not making him any money- it is not good business for him to keep the club
4.) Nothing is confirmed, calm down or you will have a trouser accident. don't beleive anything until it happens.
5.) When I said confirmed, I meant confirmed interest- which was already evident for the reasons posted earlier
6.) I really will have an accident in my pants if this happens. I refuse to get excited yet though

Aston Villa are in talks with Josh Harris and Dan Blitzer over the sale of the club
^^^^ That's because our defence was SLOPPY, so the stats show he may have let us down, where in fact it was the opposite
It wouldn't be TV work, as ITV don't cover Premier League matches
I know he's not at his peak, and is injury prone, but at least give him a chance
Thanks VillaPope, hope it is Arison and Ellison, us Villa fans will be in dreamland
