Villa have officially signed jores okore?! Get in

Believable21 Unbelievable2

Theyve assigned leandro banana a winger u21 dutch

Agree13 Disagree3

Leandro Banana. Seems legit

Agree17 Disagree1

It's bacuna mate and he will be top notch

Agree9 Disagree0

Bacuna

Agree8 Disagree0

More kids, no experience in the spine of the team - lots of OTT reaction to signing players no-one else was in for. What are fans classing a good season as next year? 15th?

Agree4 Disagree20

No one else was in for? Okore turned down chelski mate

Agree13 Disagree2

The fact that nobody else was in for them doesn't make them bad it makes our scouting brilliant! Nobody wanted benteke, lowton or westwood and they're good enough for any team outside the top 5!

Agree14 Disagree1

I assume the person commenting above - 'more kids, no experience in the spine of the team' - will be staying away from Villa Park next season as its negative persons like that we can do without.

Next season is about progression and compared to this season an 'average' season finishing 11/12/13 would have to be seen as progress. I personally think we can finish in the top half but if we don't do that then it is not necessarily a failure

Agree13 Disagree1

Players no one else were in for? Tonev was wanted by Celtic and Werder Bremen and Okore rejected a move to Chelsea. Also, no one wanted Benteke last year and now he's a household name. All the players we've signed look good and the transfer window is far from over.

Agree10 Disagree2

Hold your horses their mate. no1 was interested in benteke or lowton when we signed them and they were phenominal last season so don't get too upset yet. in lambert we trust. and we still have money left to sign probably 2 players that are bit older with more experience and we still haven't sold any1 so more funds to come aswell.

Agree10 Disagree1

Well jore okore got offered a contract from Chelsea

Agree9 Disagree0

Hate to sound greedy but are we in for anybody else i. e belhanda? And are we still chasing helenuis?

Agree9 Disagree0

No-one else was in for? Okore? he turned down Chelsea for Villa. Chelsea aren't exactly Brentford for turning down.

Agree7 Disagree0

Helenius will be a Villa player within the next 8 days I hear. Bent seems to be edging ever closer to Fulham in a £6m + add ons deal. Ireland I hear is interesting Mark Hughes at Stoke for a fee of about £1-2m.

Agree5 Disagree0

I hear Villa's tour of Germany is mainly to find out about any players first hand in Germany that Lambert can spot in their friendly there.

Agree5 Disagree3

Reply to the post "More Kid's" Seriously Buddy, are you an AVFC supporter, do you not feel the antisipation and excitement for 2014? because if you don't you need to check to see you have a pulse. We won't win the premiership, but the style won't be boring, time for everyone to support the club, there's been to many years knocking it.

Agree12 Disagree2

I must say, there is an unusually high amount of negativity (or trolling I guess) going on here in the Villa section of the site.

I for one am on a high at the moment as we are getting exactly what we have been asking for since the MON days.

Lambert is moving swiftly and positively for young targets who have international experience (even if it is u 21 level) in order to try and bind them together through the offseason.

Some will argue that Joe Bennett and KEA were poor buys, but what about the rest? Vlaar, Benteke, Lowton, Westwood. if we get that same hit rate out of this latest batch I think most would be happy.

All this whilst trimming the overpaid outcasts out of the picture and in time to have the entire preseason together.

Hard to tell if some of you negative guys are trolls or real fans, but I guess its all about perspective I guess.

I simply see the club on a roll currently, with the last third of the season and all of the wins and now real swift movement in the transfer window.

I think ti proves that Lambert is driven and that he is keen to get to work

Agree10 Disagree1

I don't think we'll get belhanda now. I'd focus on getting bentekes contract sorted and a lb my preference would be ipswichs cresswell

We've just announced the signing of jores okore! Welcome to villa

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Denmark 0 Armenia 4 okore played 2nd half

Agree3 Disagree10

It was 2-0 when he was bought on, name on defender in the world that would come on and change a game that his is losing 2-0 at half time please. If you can then could you also bare in mind how old this player might be

Agree11 Disagree0

There's another 10 players on the pitch!

Agree8 Disagree0

Watch the highlights of Okore vs Chelsea because he was superb! he even rejected Chelsea's approaches to sign him.

Agree7 Disagree0

Congratulations Daniel Johnson, from all Villa supporters, you deserve it.

Agree8 Disagree0

You can't blame a player for two goals it's a team game plus Armenia are producing some better players. Look at that chap Liverpool were chasing as a successor to Gerrard. He scores a lot of goals at international level. {Ed052's Note - MK isn't a replacement for Gerrard}

Agree5 Disagree1

Denmark should be beating Armenia everyday of the week but this is only one game, so don't judge okore on it.
He's got all the attributes to be a top CB, I would have prefered a more experienced player ie Lescott, but okore looks the part

Agree11 Disagree0

I ment a future replacement ed

Agree1 Disagree0

Am I the only person who isn't half fussed about experience? Yeah we could go and sign players good enough to get us to up the table but they won't improve, i'd much rather buy players that are nearly as good as these 'experience players' now and watch them turn into twice the player than any of these old expensive guys. Not to mention the fact that buying young and building will make us money like benteke for example (if we sell him) instead of buying old players and making a loss, like given and dunne

Agree7 Disagree5

I am all for going with younger players and allowing Lambert and his staff to grow the team.

The issue you have is when things start going bad most fans (not me) jump on the lack of experience band wagon.

The main thing should be that players are giving there all which doesn't matter how many years you've played the game. If we lose 1-0 but have gave our all then no one can complain. Gabby will never be a world class player but will always be a Villa legend because he gives his everything all the time.

Agree7 Disagree0

What a laugh is that the same Armenia who lost to malta last week if he can't defend against a team like Walsall hows he going to defend against a team like wba

Agree0 Disagree10

Gabby has all the potential to be a great player as he did a few years back. But due to McLeish & Houllier - he just has not developed quick enough & now not being played as a solid striker - he is spending more time adapting than perfecting.

Agree5 Disagree4

The Baggies flattered to deceive last season and found their true level in the final weeks of the season when they lost game after game and only got a point from united because they where in the holiday mood. Think Okore will be more than a match for the Baggies and for the majority of strikers in the premiership.

Agree5 Disagree0

Thanks for your positive contribution Mr Negitive. Have you never had a bad day at the office? Are you going to be happier when at VP because we will.

Agree2 Disagree0

Whats your definition of "GREAT"? Lol
Gabby doesn't have nor ever has had the potential to be a "great" player, he's been a good player but will never be anythin more.

>Scg87

Agree10 Disagree4

"Great" much better than average but short of world class = Gabby, Soon to be Villa legend.

Agree3 Disagree10

To Mr Baggie, welcome to our page, in reference to your innuendo about okore's ability playing at international level. Is life so bad at WBA these day's that you have to try to create comment about something as daft as this.
The measure of each teams ability will be decided at the end of next season, at VP we are very positive, but your most valuable asset is your Manager not your players.

Agree4 Disagree0

Gabby looks much better as a wide left player he was bossing it at the end of last year. I think he should have been in the England team the other week to be fair. I remember posting on this site last year every 1 was saying get rid of him but not me as on his day gabby is unstoppable.

Agree7 Disagree0

L Ronaldo. C Ronaldo. Messi. Zidane. Romario. Ronaldinho. Rivaldo. Figo

There great players, let's reserve the word "great" for them

>Scg87

Agree11 Disagree0

Disagree, these are world class players, As discussed previously, Gabby is very nearly great!

Agree3 Disagree7

Lmfao! Gabby is not a great player! An the fact you think he is, makes me wonder if you have actually seen him play a game.

World class an great are IMO the same meaning.

Confirmed signings of Jores Okore and Leandro Bacuna, very exciting times ahead!

Believable16 Unbelievable2

13 Jun 2013 16:32:57
With Okore definitely in the bag, and Helenius and Bacuna seemingly to follow, we still need a LB, and one stand-out signing, who is a big name i. e. Belhanda

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Villa won't sign 3 wingers

Agree4 Disagree2

Belhanda isn't a winger so I don't get why you said we won't sign 3 wingers

And Bacuna isn't a winger he's a box to box midfielder

Agree5 Disagree6

Bacuna can play both but prefers the box to box cm position

Agree3 Disagree0

Bacuna can play in midfield or on the wing, but I think has spend more time on the wing.

Agree4 Disagree0

Belhanda plays as a winger and central

Agree7 Disagree0

Gareth Barry could be coming back! Pellegrini doesn't want him and he is interested in returning to villa! Would probably only be on loan though. Tottenham also interested

Believable5 Unbelievable9

Wouldn't honestly want him back. I rate Westwood & Delph as a better partnership.

Agree10 Disagree6

Now Ashley Young I could deal with returning to Villa, but Barry not a chance, no thank you! I hope this is bullish*t!

Agree7 Disagree7

Stay and rot at city barry u traitor. he is not even half the player he used to be. cryin with laughter last season at just how awful he was. would be nowhere near our first team. AVFC!

Agree7 Disagree12

Totally against Lambert's transfer policy. Too old and on massive wages. This is a none starter and with the stick with give Barry why would he want to come back. I for one would not welcome or want him back. The new breed did a fine job in the final 3rd of the season.

The 12th Man

Agree4 Disagree8

Why are you all hating on barry yeh he let but on good terms. get a grip for gods sake

Agree11 Disagree0

Although Barry would add some experience to the side it just doesn't fit with the Lambert model.

Barry the traitor? Has he not won the league and FA cup since he left us? Seems pretty justifiable to me. Shame some fans will never get over it. the same fans who would take Milner back even when he did the exact same thing!

Agree16 Disagree0

Some years back Bruce Rioch left Villa for Derby but was always welcomed back to VP as a hero. Players move on, even managers move on, we are bigger than the persons from Canary land that come on here and winge about Lambert. Barry did nothing wrong. Indeed after the debacle from scouseland he played a full part for us the following season before MCFC made an offer that any one of us would have accepted. Barry was 100% Villa, treat him as such.

Agree13 Disagree0

2013/14, Let all villa supporters show humality and applaud all ex players and let the team show them just what there missing.

Agree10 Disagree1

People are saying he doesn't fit lambert s policy but aren't you all the ones that want an experienced midfielder. Stop being hypocritical

Agree6 Disagree0

These so called fans who slam Barry for being a "traitor" are persons! He gave villa 12 years, which is more than most ever gave us.

Barry deserved to move on an play for a club that was gunna compete for trophy's. Get over it!

>Scg87

Agree14 Disagree0

I personally know gareth Barry and he's a good lad who was great for us so grow up plastic fans

Agree9 Disagree0

Absolutely. Anyone who criticises Gareth Barry's ability or his stickability (when you consider he was there during the exceedingly dark days of David O'Leary) need their heads examined.

100% Villa - give the man some respect.

Agree14 Disagree0

Barry is a villa legend who needs to be treated with respect.

South African reports suggest Aston Villa have enquired about the availability of Kaizer Chiefs and South African number 1, Itumeleng Khune (26) who has been priced out at between R20-25million (£1. 2-7m).

Khune has impressed at international stages for his country in Confederation Cup, 2010 World Cup and recent African Cup of Nations.

With speculation of his future in doubt, many European clubs are curiously watching over his availability.

Believable2 Unbelievable11

He is too old for our pre school.

Agree3 Disagree6

He's 25

Agree3 Disagree0

What's happened to Jesus the Spanish goalie?
Is that deal off now?

Agree3 Disagree0

Still in Villa's sights. Khune is just a possibility, as an asking price has been set.

Khune was rumoured in South African press in April that Arsenal had been impressed in his performances in the recent AFCON. Rumours cleared, as speculation on Arsenals goalkeeper problem could result in a bid for the talented keeper.

His strengths include distribution, arial ability, punching out, quick feet and jumping.

Agree0 Disagree4

I've knew about khune for a while now and think we should got him at an earlier stage in his career

Agree0 Disagree3

Wouldn't this RSA keeper want first team footy? Cus I don't think I'd pick many keepers ahead of guzan, especially a keeper who doesn't play at a high level week in week out.

For me
No1. Guzan
No2. Siegrist

>Scg87

Agree8 Disagree0

Yes I really want to see seigrist a chance

Simpson will be joining us on a one year deal to help improve the defense

Ashley Young is not signing for us but he may be coming back on loan

Also heard jolean lescott is wanted by lambert

Believable3 Unbelievable9

I bet NONE of these happen. especially the latter 2. for so many reasons I can't be bothered to list them all!

Agree8 Disagree1

How many players has lambo signed from prem teams? Duh!

Agree2 Disagree0

How would Simpson help improve our defence when he's sitting on the bench!? Cus he would not get ahead of Lowton.

Why would Simpson sign a 1 year deal you plank! He could break his leg an his career could be finished, all players want long term contracts.

>Scg87

Agree8 Disagree1

Simpson is no better then Ireland attitude wise, I blame his nurturing at manu

Leandro Bacuna - FC Groningen.

Strong rumours that a bid has been accepted for this young Dutch Winger

Believable8 Unbelievable2

With all these rumours about AVFC persuing wingers I wonder how the now fully fit Albrighton feel's. Not so long ago described as future England cert.

Agree6 Disagree0

I don't understand why we would buy another wide play.

Agree4 Disagree3

He's not a complete wide player, he plays centre midfield for the majority of his career, with the ability to play wing (both feet) and wing full back (both sides)! great addition if you ask me! Versatility in abundance!

Agree4 Disagree0

Yeah papers reporting he is having a medical later today.

Agree3 Disagree0

Albrighton is not even Premier League Class. We need 4 decent wingers, Gabby, Wiemann, Tonev and Bacuna if we want to get back to where we were

Agree5 Disagree1

After signing Tonev who can play on the wing I am surprised to see us chasing another winger (one newspaper goes as far as to say he is having a medical today!) as we had the most of our success last season without much width. Whilst Gabby and Weimann played 'wide' they in no way played as Wingers. I would be surprised if Lambert changed the set up of the team from how we finished the season.

With regards to Albrighton, he is very much in the Bannan mould for me, as in not going to cut the mustard at this level. He lacks pace and his distribution is too inconsistent which are not ideal for a wide man.

Agree4 Disagree3

Because we haven't got a quality wide player that the club.

Agree3 Disagree1

Bacuna has signed now. He can also play at Left Back, he is known for great crosses into the box & blistering pace. Potential for him to play in many positions.

Agree4 Disagree0

So much for Belhanda? Shame but could never see it!

Agree2 Disagree4

Lambert might still sign Belhanda but I doubt it now - I think if Holman leaves then Belhanda will be bought.

Agree2 Disagree1

Guys, I hope your not expecting to much from Tonev an Bocuna, I see them as squad players in the first season coming off the bench mainly.

Im still hopeful we'll sign Belhanda but losing hope of that.

We still need a LB and I still want a CM/DM to play s long side westwood

>Scg87

Agree6 Disagree3

Yes scg87 but everyone thought the same about Benteke, Westwood & Lowton as well. But look what happened there!

Agree3 Disagree5

I hope bacuna an tonev can produce like benteke an Westwood have, I am optimistic but that's not likely, so let's have some realism. because we could be setting ourselves up for disappointment

>Scg87

Agree5 Disagree1

Weimans not a natural winger and so because we've sign him he won't be played their andymore

Agree1 Disagree5

13 Jun 2013 07:20:11
Winger we are linked with is Leandro Bacuna

I hear from several sources, Lambert has serious interest in a Blackburn Rovers youngster O'Connell and a young left back from Sheffield Wednesday, !
