a friend of mine who is a stoke fan informs me its a done deal for us to get shawcross and kenwyne jones with DB going the other way? Anyone got some imput?

Shawcross just signed a 5yr deal last week or so ago.

Just heard on sun dwight yorkes getting a 6 month contract to trying keep us up

Nonesense! Lol. Shawcross is probably worth more than Bent right now! He's arguably been the best defender in the prem this season

Villa are in debt but have reduced the debt as we've unloaded a few high earners with more going at the end of the season within 2 years all the dead wood will be gone the question is will Villa dtill be a prem team then as at the min i expect QPR to leapfrog us they have a good squad all be it overpaid charlies but some very good quality in all areas and a charismatic manager and a open cheque book so they stay up

Getting desperate now! PL needs to get to work now, an sign the players we need, not on the last day of jan but before Friday! Sick of losing out on good players because we're slow to react to players who are available.

As i went to the Saints game yesterday, the penalty was a disgrace. N'Zog played well, Benteke just missed sitters all day long & Weimann just moaned & complained.
Saints without that penalty could have lost by about 3 or 4 if Benteke hadn't have missed every single chance.

No chance of Shawcross - but possibilties for Upson, Murphy and Keane

At least Vlaar is back, and Dunne is back in training- Bradford may be too soon for him though

Dunne is on his bike and I don't think you'll see him in a villa top ever again!

Dunne will play against Bradford. he's back in training and will play for the reserves this week as well.

Weimann was moaning because he's passionate and wants the Villa to win for a change!!!

Lambert says he will not sign more then 2 signings this transfer window...

If only 2 i would get hanglehand or dawson and placios

What else was he gunna say when asked "if he was gunna sign anyone"?
A. No not gunna buy anyone? Or
B. Yeah I wanna buy 5 new players?
2 players who are quality, experienced, an proven at prem level who can go strait in to the starting 11 will be good enough for me

Hugely disappointed that with a third of the transfer window now gone we have still not made any signings.

Tomorrow's game v Southampton is pivotal for our season and given the performance at Bradford the omens are not great.

I'm still behind PL and what he is attempting to achieve but would like to know what, if any, support he is getting from Faulkner and Lerner. Seems to me to be commercial suicide to risk relegation in the very season revenues from TV are due to rise substantially. Hope sense prevails and we go out and by the players that we desperately need !

I agree. Villa need to make some very important decisions in regards to signings this month. Names flying about are great, personally I won't believe it until there running around in claret and blue. I am behind PL, however something has got to give! Villa is a big club and needs Premiership football. Sadly with the current squad and our league form, will January's signings save us?

From what Paul lambert is saying we have no money. He has today ruled out a move for lescott because of cost.
He says he has to buy carefully as he does not have 5-6 million to spend on one player. I am afraid we are up the creek without a paddle. Today's game against Southampton is a must win game in my view. I like lambert and what he is trying to do but he should have spent some of the 24mil in the summer on a solid midfielder. If that's all we have I would spend the lot in midfield with vlaar back and play Clarke at lb, baker with vlaar. Holman in centre mid at Delph and bannan are clueless. Zoggie, wieman, benteke, and bent is a good enough forward line in my view. At the back and midfield we are very week. I hope and pray for us to stay up this season but it's gonna be a struggle. Lerner is just playing with us like a toy and now we don't hear off falkner. We were better off under doug. We may need to bite the bullet and bring back warnock and Hutton dare I say.

I think Lowton is doing a good job, but Bennet is sh*t, need to bring Warnock back.

Bennet will get better if we guve him time.
